I put my exotica in my south window in a self-watering pot (that I let dry out pretty good before refilling) and she is putting out so much new growth and looking so beautiful. She started as just a few mealy bug infested cuttings I snagged from the hospital my son was staying in. It took FOREVER to root and start growing. Putting a ziplock bag over her to create a humid environment helped a lot.
I just bought an unrooted exotica cutting because of the beauty of the leaves, can't wait for her to grow big and bush, she has a good size root already after a few weeks!
I absolutely love scindapsus they were rather slow growing until I transferred to leca now they are huge and bushy and grow so fast. They are amazing in leca with no issues
Melissa I have just found your channel and I am a huge fan of your video's, not only are your plant selection's beautiful, but also how you display them and the pot choices you go with are really aesthetically perfection. I would love if you would also talk about how you go about choosing the "right pot" for each plant to enhance the beauty of the plant, to me the pot chosen is an important one...thank's for making such informative video's😊💚🪴
they all look great, I'm excited for this series! Personally my favourite scindapsis I own is the silver splash, I highly recommend it! The way the variegation presents is really stunning.
Well, I have some reading to do because I am not too familiar with Scindapsis plants but after seeing your stellar collection I want to learn more. Another excellent video, I am always appreciative of the education I get watching your videos. Thanks for your plantology and for being a Plantologist extraordinaire.
I love the look of the Jade Satin, so beautiful 😍 Got lucky an found a huge 8in basket of Exotica at local gro store for 8$, couldn’t believe it. Also got a 8$ Alocasia Cuprea. Happy happy joy joy lol 💚
Scindapsus are my fav. Yours are lovely! I find scindapsus root very easily in water with a heat mat. Leafless nodes root well for me directly in soil in a pot with a humidity dome, again on a heat mat. I can’t wait for part 2! Good luck with your props 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Hi, Melissa it’s been a year since your last video on scindapsus. Can you please do an update and all your new scindapsus if available. Please i really love scindapsus. ❤️
I really need the propagation video. My Exotica is definitely my favorite and growing up a pole and past the top by over a foot leaning on another shelf. I think it needs a bigger pot also. I think I want to make another one to trail. I have the Moonlight and the Argyraeus that are trailing.
Hi Melissa, I'm re-watching this one and since my last watch I've obtained the dark form from one of our city Bunning stores (Home Depot)!!! Couldn't believe it! It's called Black Dove here in Sydeny. But I have to say it is an EXTREMELY slow grower. I've had it for months and it has only given me 2 or 3 leaves whereas my Exotica has needed a chop n prop already and I bought it after the Black Dove 😅 I also have the Argyreus and most recently the Treubii Moonlight (just a very small rooted cutting) which travelled from Perth so here's hoping I don't kill it! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Scindapsus varieties so more are on my wishlist for next year. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful collection 🥰
i love your collection. hoping to make my scindapsus look as good. my scindapsus exotica is growing very leggy. I didn't know what to do about it. I'm looking forward to seeing part 2. need to know what to do with this leggyness. love watching you. your insights have helped me a lot. 😊
I have only had two scindapsus in my life. Both had struggled and finally after years one died but the other I moved to my brightest window (my house is dark) and it just gave two new leaves- the first new leaves ever! I will switch it to a better draining soil. I think mine stays WAY too wet for way too long; the leaves curl before the soil dries.
Hi enjoyed your video very much I have two leaves like that, I am trying to rooting water what type of soil should I use to grow beautiful like yours😊😊
I have four different varieties. I do find they don't like to be watered too often. One I bought, was overwatered, I tried propagating it, all propagations failed, and I left it to dry out. I thought it was a goner, it had one green leaf left alive. I call her Noah, because she's a survivor, I now have three leaves, I reported her in a smaller cute pot. So do not water too much.
wow! 😍Your Scindapsus Silver is beautiful and super long! 🤩I don't know why mine is only making stems without leaves. What would you recommend me to do?
I just got an Exotica after searching for a year. I also have the Silvery Ann, Argyraeus and the Moonlight. My Silvery Ann has so many leaves that are more than half silver. It’s been my fastest grower with the Moonlight being my slowest. I love them all and want to keep building my collection. Your collection is beautiful and I cannot wait for chop and prop video.
I find scindapsis to be super finicky and prone to shock when it comes to repotting. Similar to you I also find they are very slow to propagate and don’t always take either. But the ones I do have that get acclimated are very hardy.
My daughter picked out our first 2 & I gotta say I wasn’t attracted to them but they grew on me & I’ve gotten a couple more since her 2 about 6 years ago
HELP! My scindapsus has a weird leaf problem My scindapsus is geting some werid brown spots on the older leafs🤨 They are not like ‘normale‘ brown spots. The color rangers from greyish brown to olive and the pattern seems sort of scaly. The leafs feels normale. The brown spots are not mushy or flaky. There are no visible pets and it is not a root problem. I water it when the leafs starts to curl up. The plant is in a terractta pot with will draining soli. It receives bright indircet ligth and is producing new growth like nobody’s business. Have any of you seen this before? Cuz I sure don’t understand it😵💫

I love scindapsus. They are my favorite genius.
Yay!! I feel like I don’t show them much but I really do love them!! 🥰
Hi how do you keep them growing , just brought 2 cuttings ,leave’s curling thanks
Love the crazy kitties and can't wait for part two!!
Yay! Thank you!
I just bought an unrooted exotica cutting because of the beauty of the leaves, can't wait for her to grow big and bush, she has a good size root already after a few weeks!
Scindapsus is one of my favs too. Looking forward to the next video in this series…
I absolutely love scindapsus they were rather slow growing until I transferred to leca now they are huge and bushy and grow so fast. They are amazing in leca with no issues
This is an interesting idea…. What fertilizer do you use?
Interesting...I may try that out!
Beautiful Scindapsus collection! Been wanting a Silvery Anne and Silver Lady.🤩
I looove scindapsus!! Only 2 right now (treubii an pictus exotica) but wana expand. Thk u for this video.
You’re very welcome!! Happy to share!! 🫶🏻
I think scindapsus are my favourites, I’m desperately looking for a satin jade in my area to no avail yet 😮💨
Love, love these collection videos! 🥰
Aww hoping you can find one soon! I got really lucky finding mine at a local garden center before I moved. It’s so beautiful 🥹

Beautiful scindapsus collection! 😳💚🪴
Thank you!
Cipould you please give me the name of whatever pest control that you spoke of in the beginning of your video?

Love all of your different varieties of them. I have the Exotica and grows sooo slow but when that next leaf pops it is a celebration 🍾!

It is Moonlight for me :) I want it so bad. It reminds me a coffee bean.
Beautiful collection. I got my 1st scindapsis not long ago. I love her!
Thank you! Yay! Congratulations ☺️

Hello Melissa, just found your video and beautiful plants, thank you for sharing!! I also love my plants bushy vs long and viney!!❤😊🙏🏼🙏🏼

Love your collection. I have moonlight, dark form, green and exotica. I have a variegated and a silver hero on order
Oh cool! I want the silver hero too! I bet the variegated one will be so pretty 🤩
Thank you!!! 🥰
Loved this and found it super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!

My pleasure 😊
I couldn’t believe when I found an exotica at lowes 👏❤
Nice collection
Gorgeous scindapsus! thanks Melissa 💚
Thanks for watching!
Your plants look so healthy and large. I wish mine were as large. I enjoyed your vlog, thank you.

Omg I’ve been literally thinking about getting a couple of Scindapsus and now I’m going to!
🥰🥰🥰
Your platinum scindapsas needs more light, me thinks. Your plants are always so beautiful!

That was really helpful and great thank you so much ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Love your scindapsis exotica, I’ve also have the jade and it’s so slow. 😊
Prop on a prop box with sphagnum and they root very fast!

Would you consider propagating in vermiculite also?
I recently purchase jade satin variegata and treubii moonlight variegata.. any silver one is next on my wishlist
Wow beautiful Plants ^^

My friend, thank you for good sharing
I think scindapsus are so underrated, especially the jade.
Hi enjoyed your video very much I have two leaves like that, I am trying to rooting water what type of soil should I use to grow beautiful like yours😊😊
17:17 what do you mean by the nodes being empty?

Where did you get the gold pot you have you exotica in?

Hello, what kind of soil you use for scindapsus?? 🙂 thank you!
It’s my normal chunky mix! It’s fox farm ocean forest and I add extra perlite, orchid bark and charcoal ☺️
Thank you!! 🙂🙂
My daughter picked out our first 2 & I gotta say I wasn’t attracted to them but they grew on me & I’ve gotten a couple more since her 2 about 6 years ago
Will the scindapsus grow the big leaves on moss poles?
I don't think they would size up much! I find some varieties to be really slow growers too
Wow
Love your collection! I have to grab a couple more types of Scindapsus .. they’re all so pretty 😍
Thank you!! 😊 yes!! 🙌🏼
I find alot of places have incorrect names on these, some look very similar.
In my experience these are hard plans. The Queen Anne is the easiest. Do not over water or they experience root rot very fast.
💚THE EX💚TICA!!!💚
Weirdly, my exotica grows like CRAZY. I chop it and it gets long again so quickly
Botanicaz have a valentine sale and i just order a variegated one for less that 100 dollars
🫣🫣 I might need to go snoop 😂
I like them there pretty 💚🪴👍🏽
Thank you!!! ❤❤
@@plantsbymelissa your welcome 💚🤗
I just got dark form cuttings and they put out new leaves…then my grow light fell and burnt the new leaves. 😑
Noooo 😢 I’m so sorry!!!

I bottom water mine and i use warm water"...weird huh???
Guilty pleasure: buying more pots of exoticas 😂
