Was going to get a Renegade Latitude with this feature to replace my Renegade Limited that I found had structural damage from previous owner (mind you the dealership never told me there was still damage from their “minor” fender bender and guaranteed it all was all fixed). This feature actually made the truck a no go for me. It was 95 degrees out and I could feel the heat coming through the roof from the panels being so thin and a dark color, couldn’t get the truck cool even with the A/C full blast lol. Still a cool feature though
@@AdventureGT That was my assumption as well. Unfortunately, ours seems to have stopped dragging the panels ever since I engaged the controls without the front panel on. I heard an initial "crunch" around that front armbar thing, but it doesn't make sense as to why.
@@AdventureGT none that I can see. The panels were not on, or partly on, when I pushed the button. I am about to make an appointment with the shop. I fear a $4k bill for something I feel would not have happened.
My worst fear happen last night mine won't close and it a rain storm all night. It will go forward then stop go back nothing on trails blocking it.. Have you have trouble with yours? I tried to hold down 30sec for it to reset it self. Nope... oh I'll never open it again.
This happened to me with my 2017 renegade and the dealership first said that it was due to the motor blowing out in the sunroof. Then they said have to have the whole assembly replaced because it won't move at all. 😒
Did you have any problems with the musky getting stuck or not rolli Ng backwards like a sunroof? Mine opens normal and then closes very slowly sometimes getting stuck and then I have to help push it forward to close. It’s getting troublesome.
Thanks homie. It works sometimes but really slow closing and when it’s slow it will retract back. Forum says many folks have this issue. If you come across it from someone else and get a chance to do a full breakdown it would be great. Love the mods man looking to do a few myself. Thanks for all the videos and instructions. 👍🏻🙌🏻
@@GatosR6 i agree I'm looking for that video now. Mine was doing same thing but now it till close a lil stop go back.i try to help it along but I'm scared ill break it.i done the hold 30sec to rese it self did nothing to help. And it's rainy pouring rain till tomorrow
@@jennifercollins3171 I’ve found a few detail instructions on how to remove the inside lining and then replace the two plastic pieces that are common to break, they replace that and re install the entire sunroof mechanism. Unfortunately it’s not a video it’s all diy instructions with a few pictures.
He said, “Same thing goes on the front.” So if he showed you “how to” on the back and said it’s the same thing for the front🤔….maybe your brain was a waste that you couldn’t or don’t know how to put two and two together🫤
T40 security bit, priceless info, thanks.
Thank you for this! I haven’t removed my panels yet but now I know how.
Same here when it warms up again.

Lucky I haven't had that kind of issues. You must have to intense sun. You from Texas? Lol
@@AdventureGT We live in Maryland. This summer has been pretty hot all together. Was honestly very surprised and bummed lol
The trim piece on the support bar in the middle flaps wildly above 30 or so mph
I have one like this. I have yet to remove the pieces lol. It's heating up so I better learn how
When you put them back and the handle latches, do you need to use the key to lock it back in place?
No, it'll click back in
@@AdventureGT ok ty. I havent had mine off yet. Ordered the key and it just came in.😀
Can you replace those roof pieces with some panoramic ones
I don't think the market is there yet. But that would be awesome!
This is my dream!
What happens if you try the roof controls with the panels off? Does that break it?
It shouldn't. The mechanism will still activate it just won't move the panels that are not there
@@AdventureGT That was my assumption as well.

That is weird. And there is no damage to the panels?

That is so bizarre. Well I hope it's a quick simple fix and nothing too expensive

Mine dies the same thing... I'm thinking it's my motor. Thank God I was able to reset it
I have a 2018 renegade and I kinda wanted that feature but I passed. Looks good though. I personally wouldn’t use it all that much
I sadly don't use mine very often but it's nice to have that option!

I personally haven't had that issues. Sounds like your mechanism is malfunctioning. Similar to how a car window starts to act up

I'm dealing with that now. I'm thinking it's the motor
Do you know if it’s possible to get a my sky roof installed on a regular renegade
To be honest I'm not sure. I would imagine it could be possible but it would probably be super expensive
❤
Thanks I love my jeep
No wonder you haven't done it in 2 years
Wow I really needed to see how to put on the front - what a waste

So cool, I wish mine came with the my sky 🥲
No you don't... they are worst design build. So so so complaints about not close back should be recall on it
No they want you spend 6g too replace it.
