Sounds flawless because it’s being recorded and mixed in a studio live. I agree they sound good but everything is being corrected while they are performing.
Yes Mr. Eduardo Alessi as you said in your comment....it was professional to the "key🔑" !!! I was there Seattle & seen it, heard it & loved it with a stage pass. PARTY 🎉.
I mean. Definitely did not sing same notes as studio. Did what he had to with an incredibly tough song at the end of a set. I could only do this midset on my best days transitioning into different songstyles for the second half of the set. All around the hardest rocking song not mamy people talk about.
I learned the song from beginning to end in about 3-4 days with a few hours a day practice. The lyrics carry this song; our 1995 class song…man I’m old😐, but what an all time generational song…great work! Been playing for 32 years and an average player, but very knowledgeable and no slight on the guitar player at all, but to label EXTREMELY RARE, just going a little too far.
My best friend turned me on to Candlebox we were going to see them in concert but he died before we got too go see them. When I listen to them I remember all the good times with him rocking out to Candlebox. This was one of our favorite songs to rock out too.
My husband worked at a Correctional Center a few years ago. On Sundays, different inmate bands would play music for the other inmates on the yard for entertainment. One group , the lead singer, was singing "Far Behind". Sammy, my husband really liked the song. he asked the singer the name of the group and the song. The very next day, he went out and bought the CD.
I don't pretend to know all the intricacies of the hate situation. But from what I understand they wrote this song for Andrew Wood. And that had some backlash with other bands and fans of Andrew/Mother Love Bone. I have some Idea's in my own mind as to why it could have caused backlash, but it is all speculation on my part.
In a 1994 interview with Playgirl, Candlebox frontman Kevin Martin stated that it was inspired by two friends who overdosed on heroin and "represents the loss of love between friends and having to be left with the feeling of emptinessHe elaborated in a 2008 interview: "I wrote 'Far Behind' for Andy Wood. I was a huge Malfunkshun fan and a huge Mother Love Bone fan and I got to know Andy early on in his career when I was working in a shoe store with Susan Silver who was managing Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains.
Love his voice. My favorite voice in all of music creatainly not the best sounding voice. But clearly my favorite vocalist in rock music. I wish I had a band and he sang for my band. ❤
Friends in South Bend knew how much I loved their music and took me to their concert in Indianapolis as a BDay present early 90’s. Love them for it to this day. First day I learned I had sleep apnea as well. Apparently I kept them all up with my snoring in the hotel in Indy afterwards. What a night and memories!
That guitar and that tube amp are perfect his playing and gear are mastered. The singer is killer bass and drums are rock solid. Man. Cymbals are majic.
I was in high school when this song was released. Reminds me of a girl named Angela. We hung out, listened to music and has so much fun. Damn, those were good times.
One of the greatest most dialed live bands ever! Seen them a few times thru the 90s and they never disappointed. First time I saw them Kevin stage dived and gave me a boot straight to face at the Roseland in NYC. He came back with free merch that someone stole off my girlfriend minutes later. Still, one of the more memorable shows I've ever been to, and I've been to hundreds, and have seen many of the greatest bands ever to grace a stage. These dudes were def way underrated and under appreciated. Not many bands that can sound as good, or even better, live, than their albums.
Best song in the history of ever. I remember putting $20 in the tank of my '64 Electra 4 door hardtop and driving through the cornfields late into the night until the tank ran low to this soundtrack. This song still holds up, f#cking timeless.
This whole EFFIN band is sooo underated, from his amazing voice to their excellent music and riffs....Still, some true rock,,,lets get them back to the top !!
They must age really really well then :/. I wanna think its not them but what do I know about music... I just listen. To think they came out when I was 12 😧.
I just discovered this, and I started crying, I saw them in Woodstock 94, and I loved their way of appearing on stage, Peter Klett is a wonderful guitarist, and Kevin Martin speechless, his voice is exactly the same from his youth How I miss the 90s, my generation, my times. 💕🌹

So fckng professional....every single note sounds the same as the studio!!!! The guitar solo was flawless too
Eduardo Alessi saw them live in Shreveport. great!!
Sounds flawless because it’s being recorded and mixed in a studio live. I agree they sound good but everything is being corrected while they are performing.
If you listen to his letterman live video when he was younger he yells more this is real performance no audio fixes sorry dude

This guitarist is so unbelievably good.....wow. His talent is extremely rare.
Yes aside from the fact that he is still cute as ever💯💗3:13
That drummer is unbelievably good. The bassist is locked in, and the guitarist is playing off the drums. Fantastic. Just my op.
I suppose if you’re a boy band era fan, he’s a guitar hero then.
He’s not “unbelievably good”
Not like you think. Not rare at all. You’re just infatuated with the song. I li or it too.
I learned the song from beginning to end in about 3-4 days with a few hours a day practice. Amazing performance. The bridge at the end gets me every time
These guys and Pearl Jam are still carrying the torch for the grunge era. RIP to all the ones that lost the battle during this time.

April 15,2024 and 45 years old and still jamming out to this song. Incredible band
Love this song. Candlebox's first CD is one of the greatest albums of all time.
Most underrated band ever and one of the greatest singers in rock history!!
Guitarist is so smooth
Highly underrated
feels like the guitar riff is strumming my heart
It’s absolutely INCREDIBLE
It is time to go on another Candlebox binge!

The most underrated band in history.
Nevermunderstood why they received so much hated, even from other seattle bands, back in the day
I don't pretend to know all the intricacies of the hate situation. But from what I understand they wrote this song for Andrew Wood. I came to Candlebox for the voice, but I stayed for the guitar. Every part of this band is gold.
Wouww... The vocalist voice hasn't changed, amazing
Damn that was amazing! Not just a studio band at all!! They SLAY IT LIVE
Another amazing performance by one of the greatest and most underrated artist of all time. These guys rock.

This song brings back some memories. Makes me feel old.
I WAS THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best song ever!! Awesome in concert too!
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But I did it anyway
And then maybe
Some would say your life was sad
But you lived it anyway
And so maybe
Your friends, they stand around, they watch you crumble
As you falter to the ground
And then someday
Your friends, they stand beside as you were flyin'
Oh, you were flyin' oh-so high
But then someday, people look at you
For what they call their own, they watch you suffer
Yeah, they hear you calling home
And then someday, we could take our time
To brush the leaves aside so you can reach us
Hey, but you left me far behind
Now may-ay-ay-ay-be
I didn't mean to treat you oh-so bad
But I did it anyway
Now I'm saying, but may-ay-ay-ay-be
Some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain, no, no, no
Couldn't share the pain, they watch you suffer
Mm
Now maybe
I could have made my own mistakes
But I live with what I've known
And then maybe
We might share in something great
Won't you look at where we've grown
Won't you look at where we've gone
And then someday comes, tomorrow holds
A sense of what I fear for you in my mind
As you trip the final line
And that cold day when you lost control
Shame you left my life so soon, you shoulda told me
Hey, but you left me far behind
Now may-ay-ay-ay-be
I didn't mean to treat you oh-so bad
Oh, but I did it anyway
Now may-ay-ay-ay-be
Some would say you're left with what you had
Oh, but you couldn't share the pain, no, no, no, no
Oh no
Oh no, no, no-no, no
Oh, Lord, say
Oh, Lord
See, I know
See, I know
But may-ay-ay-ay-be
I said may-ay-ay-ay-be
Didn't mean to treat you oh-so bad
Oh, but I did it anyway, no
So m-maybe, now, oh Lord, baby
Some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
Now I've said, now, times have changed, your friends they come
And watch you crumble to the ground
They watch you suffer
Yeah, they hold you down, hold on down
Said maybe love, oh, maybe love
Didn't mean to treat you bad
But you left me far behind
Left me far behind
Left me far behind
