Im 23 and Been trying to find this song for nearly 20 years, only had a 3 second snip of the intro guitar riff off an old Sony video recorder of my dad's when I was riding with him In his truck in 2000. Lost him In 2001 when I was 3. This song is magical as it brings me back to a time where I had him in my life and glad to have finally found this song. Much love to all.
I’m sorry you had to grow up without him. I can’t imagine
same here. been looking for this song for quite sometime. it suddenly pop up. Thanks God, I've found it

Yes!
My husband of 30 years passed away 6 weeks ago.... my heart is still so damn raw. We used to sit in front of his stereo with huge ass speakers listening to this, along with lots of other great rock, grunge, alternative for hours and hours. I miss him so much. I wish for each of you to find the kind of love we shared. Marry your best friend!!! I love you Mert 💔
I'm so sorry for your loss :(
I’m sorry for your loss but 30 years, that’s awesome!!! You both had something super special. It takes a lot of work and intentional acts to be married that long. My wife and I just celebrated 20 years in November of 2021 and I work everyday to make her the jewel of my eye. You were so blessed to be together that long. May you see him again when you’re called home.
PS: Candlebox takes me right back to my high school years in the 90’s. Awesome jams!
Sending love
Sorry for your loss.
Blessings
I’m going to pay my respects to my exwife who passed recently from the after effects of addiction. Before the mess we had a lot of good years and raised our children. She loved this song. After we divorced, she ended up on the streets and lived that life for years. She missed out on grandkids and other milestones. She didn’t get clean until about the last year of her life and reconnected with our son.
I heard this song on the radio recently and was gut punched. It reminds me of the good times and how much she’ll be missed by our kids despite the bad choices.
This will be played at her memorial.
Lost in my addiction right now fighting demons that want my life. this song, as I type has touched my soul. I will not give up! I messaged a treatment center that will come pick me up right now.
I don't think I will make it like this much longer and this song just did it for me.
Pray for me.
Prayers for you. It gets better. I've been there. You've already taken the hardest step. Keep your head up and fight. Life is worth fighting for. The clouds open and clear skies are right around the corner. Peace and happiness V.
Prayers ,please be strong on day at a time .
🙏🙏🙏
You got this ❤keep on pushing
Prayers for you.
Lead Singer Kevin Martin wrote this song for his late friend Andy,This song has a special meaning,I'm also very proud Recovering addict n drunk,28 yrs clean n this time 12 for drinking,All I do is pray for anyone struggling in life with anything.

Me
I stumbled across this song on a FB reel last night. I cannot believe I only just discovered this song! Addicted to it!
I was a teenager in the 80's ...I didn't care for much of the 80's music. When grunge hit in the 90's I was hooked. Glad to see others appreciating the ERA.
Ironically we left 90’s far behind. My teenage years when I wanted to grow up now I would love to have 1 week in it.
I'd settle for 1 day to talk to myself
For real tho
You can say again brother
Amen×100
❤
If anyone is going back to the 90s, can I catch a ride?
can i come too?
@@th1rdsanity Ah why not?! I know a good club we could go to in Warrington England. I don't think it there anymore but it was in the 90s. I was stationed in the UK in the mid 90s with the Air Force.
Hell yea!
Wish we could bring those days back. These children don't understand the pride of the 90's. LONG LIVE THE 90's
My heart aches when I listen to this song, miss the 90s soooooo much😪
I’d love nothing more than to re live the 90s at my current age of 36. Man I took the 90s for granted as a teenager.
same tho i have excuses
90’s early 00’s for surev
We've all taken our youth and past for granted, we didn't have any clue of what things actually were or would be...
That's how old I was in the 90's
This song is almost 30 years old and I’m almost 50. Neither feels its age.
Her name is Desi and the pain is still there 95
It came out the year I was born, I'll be 29 next month 🍻
Born 86 raised on it when it came out. Didnt understand the lyrics but knew i loved the sound at 8 years old
Same
I'm 72...still fkin love it!!
One of the best songs of the 90s, without a doubt
Your right
Best songs ever
One of the best albums of the 90s
One of my favorite songs
Most def
That intro guitar riff is amazing. It’s like the guitar wants you to FEEL that riff.
*The 90s was an unforgettable era for good music* ✨
The 90s were an unforgettable era period.
The best era
Amen sir
It was pretty insane if u think about it. There was so much great music over so many genres. And mainstream too.
I'm 27 and I didnt know that I've been searching for this song for my entire life. I literally cried when the radio played it. It reminds me of, me and my Step-dad bonding over video games. But I couldn't understand the words because the speakers in my 2005 ford explorer are trash, but then the very last lines came in clear as day and I took a gamble, and typed in "left me far behind."
I Miss You Dad
And I just wanna thank God quite literally
Candle box didn’t make a lot of memorable albums, but THIS song, for some reason, is ICONIC!!
Amen ❤❤❤
I was in my 20's and listening to this. Im 54 now and reading post that put an ache in my heart for those who have lost parents and siblings and are still so young. Much love and hugs.
"You" and "Cover Me" are great songs! Underrated band... one of the few that are always refreshing to hear and never get old
I saw them in concert last night (9-1-2024) and they still sound awesome. Hearing this song live made me emotional, what a time to be alive. 1999 was a GREAT year for music.
Everytime I listen to this song I think of my mom she passed away from cancer it came back and she didn't tell me. I miss her so much I feel so lost without her here.
😭😭😭
2024 and still rocking it
Such a wonderful song. Makes me think of my younger brother who passed away in a car accident. 24 years old…to young. “That cold day when you lost control”…gets me every time.
Know how you feel.😢
My nephew died at 22 in a car accident.
I have read through some of the comments the one that stuck out the most was the one where they asked for help to beat an addiction. I hope they were successful. I miss the days when people cared for others thank you Candlebox for still bringing folks together
The song writing is off the chain 💜💯
My dad passed away 5 months ago and I remember he would listen to the radio and this song would play coming home from work in the morning I would use his car to go to work and I’m happy I found this song RIP pops reminds me of him a lot..
Lost a childhood friend today...I hope she found some peace
The Seattle grunge era was a good era. Lots of good music came from there. Especially considering it all came out before auto tune and pro tools. It's just pure talent.
I love this song, early good times ...
Lost my mother I was 14, in 2020. I can remember we was drivin home from our Holiday and my mother hears this song. Oh my god I miss her so much.
She's still watching you love🙏💞
I feel dead inside! Numb on the outside!!
Why?
50 yo, brings back memories, and demons that still haunt, but I love it anyway.
One of the best songs still in 2021! Music nowadays has lost what it is. Money, power, wtf. Wake up people
Amazing how music can have such an impact on our thinking
I was born in the 1990's and love all the music. I was raised on all types of good rock. This is real music. Rock on.
❤❤❤❤
2023 n still pumping this
❤❤❤❤❤
This (along with the Temple Of The Dog album) was a tribute to Andy Wood, singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone. After Andy died, Mother Love Bone became Pearl Jam. RIP Andrew Wood.
Some legendary songs were written about wood as tributes, Jerry Cantrell wrote would? About Andy and then say hello 2 heaven from the temple of the dog album and then this song far behind. All great songs and very popular, I think would? Is the best of the bunch but all 3 are classics.
God I miss the 90's. The world is f__ked up now days. I feel bad for kids growing up now.
I just found out my best friend from Junior high and high school died in November. She was 42 just like me. I've been feeling suicidal lately and I dreamt about her last night. I dreamt that we hadn't seen each other in so long and we just embraced. We couldn't let go. I woke up and Googled her name and now I'm so fucking heartbroken.
I hope that you will reach out to people who love you or strangers for comfort. I have always had suicidal ideation and when i found out someone i cared deeply for took his own life in November it was a sucker punch to everyone who knew him. When you're in the depths of despair it's hard to believe the devastation that will be left behind for others to carry. Condolences on the loss of your friend💔
Sending my deepest condolences for the loss of your friend. I hope you can find peace, you deserve to live a happy life.
Please seek help. Just reaching out for help to a therapist is instant therapy. Life is worth living. I have been there.
hi brandon, i can’t imagine what you’re going through but i hear you! your friend would want you to be healthy and happy, so know that there are people out there who can help. talk to someone you’re close to, find a support group or local professional that can process your thoughts with you!
Sorry to hear brandon
This song was a song i actually learned the real meaning to when I not only lost my best friend but my lover greg forrest
RIP Shane Dog.
I crank this song up every time. Gotta be one of the best songs of all time.
Miss you Ma, every single DAY.
Bro life is hard af but this shit makes it okay
RIP Andrew Wood, whom this song was written for.
This is hands down what got everyone loving alternative rock. If it wasn't, you came in through Green Day. Lol, i grew up on candlebox, tonic, creed, and Bush. ❤
@@Chelsea-wf6ve , got the cd Green Day Doogie I beleive its called
I’ve been trying to find this song for ages ! Got me in tears :( reminds me of my childhood
Pure 90's...
Oh man. Does this one bring back the feels for me
I've had this song stuck in my head for almost 30 years.
this song makes me cry so much
As you tripped the firing line……my 13 yr old girls mother was a life long meth user and 3 years ago she doused a car with gasoline jumped in and did the deed. They kept her alive for about 4 days. You’ve never seen in a movie what a body looks like after that kind of burning, ……please don’t ever use any drugs, any!!!! There is a God and He is Good and desires our love but loves us infinitely more!
I'm 37 and been listening to these guys since a kid ....I'm still here. They don't make music like this anymore!!!
sure do not
I've always hated this sentiment until the last few years, 90s and 00s were just different. Such heavy topics in a way we can understand. Can't even talk about this shit without trigger warnings let along sing about losing a close friend to drugs....
@@UpdogGolf but at least we got hits like wap right? Yay. We’ve failed our kids
Check out the Mother Love Bone album, this song was written in honor of their singer Andrew Wood.
I was born in 90' so I was just a kid growing up in that decade. Now I am older and I am hearing all this music from that time and I love it.
I get it completely.
Beautiful guitar solo
God man…….. what a banger
Saw Candlebox live at Summerfest in Milwaukee September 2021. I’ve seen more live concerts than believable and sincerely, the lead singer sang “Far Behind” and it was arguably the best live vocal performance I’ve ever seen. Guitarist absolutely shredded the solo too, and the singer’s high notes and screams were bar none A1 INCREDIBLE. Hats off, don’t think I can think of many others who can still do it this well. Stupendous performance fellas!
So much connection with the riffs & lyrics. This song defines my whole existence. This will forever be playing on repeat in my subconscious.
That was a deep break down and I completely felt it 💯💯🙏
I feel like I'm watching an episode of My So Called Life watching this music video. Love the music, guys. I'm nostalgic.
rest in peace andrew wood! inspired two of my favorite songs this and Would? by AIC
Say hello 2 heaven by Temple Of the Dog
@@scottthewozznijak359 :o what. its baout andy?

Oh my God I just found this song looking for it for a long time reminds me of my ex driving to our house and couldn't wait to see him damn those are some good times 25 years ago this goes out to a Big Mac
definitely hear a gun 'n roses influence in both the guitar & vocals
In the mid 90’s there was a night club in downtown Tampa called Hammerjacks. The DJ would always end the night with this song. Brings back great memories.
90’w we’re the best

Actually I love the '90s! And I like what I to hear from the '90s rock song! I mean it's all what I want!
One of the greatest songs ever made
Andrew Wood was from Frisco. He was beyond his time. Thank you for appreciated him in your song and apologizing to him in your song. Mother Love bone is and will always be a bad ass band!
No maam hes a Mississippi boy 👌
Great song from that era. I always liked this. The video is very 90s with the color saturation and "let's throw every effect in it".
I loved this album!! Need to get it again. ....magnificent band. So love to sing to it😎😎 and what a beautifully written song
This definitely deserves a shit ton more likes and views
The other one on their channel has been out for 9years and has 39 mill views
Been listening since the 90s still jamming at 46
This song means so much to me. Had an incredible impact on my youth. I just simply love it.
Goosebumps everytime I listen
this is everyone
This song, along with so many other 90's rock/grunge, never gets old! This song always make me feel good. Brings back great memories of being 15-16, hanging out with all my skater friends, being wild teenagers and having real summers!
sounds cool
this song triggered the thought of my mom and step dad finally coming to pick me and my brother up from our grandmas house, as she had to move to Dallas from Florida for a better opportunity. I love you mom... and thank you candlebox. Core memory
I was 11 when this came out, and I still remember watching it when it premiered. It means now to me than it did then.
Love this song❤❤❤❤and band
This song helped me get through the pain when I lost my uncle. This song is there when you need it to hold you up !
Awesome Song
Brutal!! Yet effective!
I lost my baby brother in 2002 from oxy 80 and fentynal both prescribed.😢We had gotten in a fight and he went to Florida......We.never made up from it before he passed...I'm so sorry Johnny.....I miss you so much and I so wish to hug you...This song reminds me of him...❤ya candlebox

RIP My Cousin Bubba! This was his Favorite Song I Love You Bubba and Miss You Forever ❤️ The Sky Belongs to The Stars Right ✨
I had this song stuck in my head for 2 days took me two days to find it awesome
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But I did it anyway
And then maybe
Some would say your life was sad
But you lived it anyway
And so maybe
Your friends they stand around they watch you crumble
As you falter down to the ground
And then someday
Your friends they stand beside as you were flying
Oh you were flying oh so high
But then someday people look at you for what they call their own
They watch you suffer
Yeah they hear you calling home
And then some day we could take our time
To brush the leaves aside so you can reach us
But you left me far behind
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
Now maybe some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
No, no, no
Couldn't share the pain, they watch you suffer
Now maybe I could have made my own mistakes
But I live with what I've known
And then maybe we might share in something rare
But won't you look at where we've grown
Won't you look at where we've gone
But then someday comes
Tomorrow holds a sense of what I feel for you in my mind
As you trip the final line
And that cold day when you lost control
Shame you left my life so soon you should have told me
But you left me far behind
Now maybe I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
Now maybe some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain No, no, no
Now maybe I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
Now maybe baby some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
I said times have changed your friends
They come and watch you crumble to the ground
They watch you suffer
Yeah, they hold you down
Hold you down
Now maybe oh oh, maybe
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But you left me far behind
Left me far behind
Left me far behind
Not many people know this, but this song is written as a tribute to Andy Wood, singer of Mother Love Bone, who after Andy died became Pearl Jam. Temple Of The Dog is also a tribute to Andy.
@@markabboud8564 now that is what I want to know more about!! How andwho got left behind? Suicide? Fame?
