In order to avoid the moons, you have to jump. The timing can be tricky though.
two short jumps, then a delay, then another jump, yes. actually i found this attack to be pretty easy to avoid, the long ass melee combos killed me way more often.
Yeah, it kept tripping me up but then I watched a streamer who was able to jump all three waves the first time it came up for them and I was like OH I guess it is possible 😂I just ended up having to watch my health and tanking it like Whimsy because I could only manage to jump 2 of 3.

Hello, I really like this format. It has the feel of live streaming without the risk of spoilers from chat. You also get to enjoy the new game without distraction and the constant backseating attempts. I wish more content creators would adopt this format in situations like this. Good luck on your journey. I loved Rellana's swords when I got them! Very fun.
07:30 People already data mined the game and removed the cloth of the divine beast. It's two men, yes. Very much reminiscent of the Chinese parade dragons.

Amazing episode whimsy ! i also noticed Rellana favored her flame flurry with your run while with me she did her Glint Flurry way more.
i had so much fun with Rellana on my Blood Brawler (Fist weapons + great stars) i managed to poise break her on phase swap and then hard nuke her with Wild strikes + great stars during her phase swap animation + the blue blade flurry she does (if you hug her she misses apparently i found out there, there's a small save space right in front of her cause she does it with stretched arms) so ended up skipping her phase 2 completely on that one.
on my Fire Knight i had to whittle her down and keep dodging her flurry's and moon's on 2nd phase cause the dmg was good but not as much dmg bursting as on my other character
it's allot of fun to play this on different characters and see how much of a change it is in how you experience a boss fight.

At 11:30 she is talking about beast. I guess she is the one who summon the beast. You can have different dialogue before boss fight but after you kill beast normally she doesnt speak now i am learned that if you wear mask she talks to you 😅
Better than me. Beating Rellana without summons is impressive no matter what. You are doing CHUNKY damage with this build though. The way to dodge the dual moons is to jump just as they start dropping. works every time if you time it right.
Someone on UA-cam posted a video that confirms the lion is two person in a costume. A contender for the most useless enemy in video games history is the guy in the back. He contributes nothing to the fight except jumping and following the guy in front so that the lion looks cool...
I think it is based on dancing lion celebrated on chinese new year. When i was a kid i was always told that the one in the back indeed has the hardest job. But they actually contributes the most i think
@@SomeUserk They contribute to the dancing, not the combat! The fight would not be easier if it was just the guy with the lion head.
@@bwalker77i was talking about the real thing people do in chinese new year. Not the game. Although the game is based on real life and when the lion lifts its head, the front guy steps on back guy to make it possible. So no back guy means no head raised. So different moveset

Fromsoft says they intend for people to use summons in the dlc. Or to play duo with someone. Don't hesitate to use them!
I didn't realize the finger reader crone's dialogue is different if you're wearing that mask! I do wish you talked to her w/o it tho because she goes hard on how you're a miserable strumpet.

As you seemed to be struggling with the high damage at times, maybe you should revisit the main game and pick up some gear to improve your survivability.
E.g. an Erdtree Avatar in Caelid's Dragonbarrow region drops the Opaline Hardtear, which increases all damage negation types by 15% for 3 minutes and stacks with your incantations.

That black hammer is actually very good. Used it to kill the final boss. Surprisingly, holy dmg is great in dlc. Even better i think than blasphemous blade. And you were right last week about scadutree blessings.
Also that deflecting though, interesting new mechanic. Havent really tried it since i rushed through the game relying on old methods. But it really can remove the need for defensive buffs it seems
My two-great-hammers jumpy unga bunga build absolutely carried me the whole way. I tried other builds but they just felt worse. Jumping in for huge damage with no wind up other than the jump, and an almost guaranteed stagger, is just way too good!

you have to jump most of the attacks. rolling is not working in dlc most of the time
