How to: 2015 Ford Fusion fog light.
I install a set of oem style fog lights on my 2015 Ford Fusion SE. I purchased the fog kit, as well as the wiring harness and the light switch from Ebay.
Forgot to mention, you wont have the foglight indicator on your cluster
Video also shows how to remove the front bumper cover

T25 torx screwdriver

Outstanding video…clear explanation and good camera work. I just finished this job and it was as easy as could be. Thanks for the correct part numbers as well! The lights I ordered from eBay came with the bolts and clips to secure them, so no need for zip ties.

Did you have to purchase the fog light bezels RH&LH, bracket RH&LH and the lights together as a package or each separately?
The kits should include all the hardware you need, (at least mine did). You only need to buy the harness and the switch for the inside.

It was a kit from eBay. They’re several available. You can also check amazon. Try to find a complete kit.

Rock smashed my glass on my driver's side fog light, seems pretty easy to remove and reinstall, thanks for sharing brother. F the music I thought it was great!

did you forget to show how and where to connect the new fog light wiring harness? I seem to have missed that part.
The new harness plugs into the same location that the old one did. The only thing different is the 2 additional plugs for the fog light themselves.
And where would those two be plugged into
Hey Bra, grt vid. Apologies, but maybe I'm thick. You're saying the new lights connect to the harness then to the switch. Then how will the other things work that's on the switch. Is there another wire connection somewhere not covered in the vid?
Hello mate, i have the same car, just want to knoe if you had any problems in the past years, with your car maybe any flickering with the install of the fog lights. Your answer is important because I knoe our cars are very complicated, and I just don't want to mess up my fusion

Thanks man. The Ford fog lights are made of a real brittle plastic. Mine got smashed by a rock on the interstate.

The bolt above the clips in the fender liner. Is that the only bolt needed to pull out the sides. Or is there another clip under there. I'm talking about where the fender and front cover meet.

I don't remember exactly, there's not much holding the fender liner on though.
Since you used zip ties to hold the fog brackets to the bezel/bumper do you have any issue with the lights bouncing or rattling because they aren’t fastened with bolts?
I haven’t heard any noise to this day. Zip ties work great
I didnt see the wiring process good how did u set the fog lights up to the battery?
How did you route the fog light switch wiring harness ? Did you fish thru behind the original switch box?

The switch is basically plug n play. All you have to do is replace the harness behind the bumper for it to work
Was there any way in particular you were able to remove the push clips from the inside of the fender lining without breaking them? I didn’t want to pull of the rest after already snapping one leg off of one of the clips.
I used a flat head screwdriver, they do make a special panel tool that you can use as well.
Question? I bought a Spyder Fog light kit like the one you installed. It came with a harness. Will that work with a factory switch if I buy it
I don’t think so, I think you need the factory harness to work with the switch

Do u know if I can replace my 2014 Fusion fog lights with these 2017s New kind fog lights? The 2014 are this Round ones and the new style are kinda square/rectangular style, but I don't know if the new ones will fit
Im not sure. I haven't seen the back of the newer style to see if the plug is the same
Is there a way to find a part number for the fog light kit...I got the #'s for the switch and the harness. Just not sure which fog lights will work.
Unless Ford sells them as a set in their accessories subdomain, then you'll have to buy the pieces separately.

The kit I got from eBay. Everything fit but the light didn’t last. I would definitely upgrade those
@@RvaJay ....tell you the truth I didnt think it would ...it wss like 4 or 6 months right lol am probably gonna do led lights hopefully it adds a bit more visibility to the road at night.

No, they’ll work as long as you use the factory switch.

I got a 15' Focus that I want to install fog lights on. The set I'm looking at is on eBay too. Will it be the exact same way as yours? It looks like it to me 🤔 because the Focus is just lil smaller. I have the exact Same light switch on the side.
I'd imagine the install would be similar. Ford is fairly consistent. They use the same light switch in many cars.
Rapid Jay can you install Led lights on a 2016 Ford Edge SE, and what is that about having to splice somewhere?
Do all fusions have the wiring in the switch (once you replace it) so it’s all plug and play?
I've heard that the "s" model might not be prewired. Mine is an "SE"

2:29 That blue clip you removed from the small black box, I am missing that box so my fog lights can't be set up. If you already got the fog lights housing on your car and all you want to do is replaced the housing would u just have to plug and play instead of buying all the extra stuff? I already got fogs lights but I want to add those LED housings and would I have to connect those to a harness?
If your car already has fogs, you don't need anything else but the new led part. You will have to wire the leds in to come on with the running lights.
RvaJay u mean wire the led fog piece to the headlight harness?
@@ryandaniels2686 Yeah, if your talking about installing the housings with the led running lights, you'll need to tap into something that has power when the car is on.

Yes. You need the interior switch too.

The whole project was around 160. It really depends on which fogs you go with.
Did you have to order a separate wire harness for it? Or is that the one that comes with it
U do need a new wiring harness the one equipped with fog lights wires it’s about 90 bucks if u get it from a ford dealership

There isn't any wiring with this setup. All you have to do is remove the harness that's already there and replace it with the new one

The new harness is a direct replacement for the old harness. Just swap them out.
I called the Ford dealership and they asked for my Vin and said even with the wire harness and switch the fog light wouldn't work and that I'd have to splice in some where for it to work. I'm gonna assume from your previous comment it's about the fog light indicator on the dash that there saying won't work unless I splice in. Also going to assume you has to put a fuse in the fuse box for them to be used.

The dealership uses the vin to look up specific part numbers. You are correct though you'd probably have to splice some wires to get the dash light to work, it wasn't a big deal to me so I didn't worry about it. You don't need to add a fuse or anything else to make the fogs work.

Follow along where the factory harness goes and replace it with the new one.

The other two plugs go to the fog lights. Everything else should be the same
You posted 1 year later that the chrome inside the fog lights melted. I found a good fix for that problem. Yeah it's a $130ish fix but FOG LIGHT - Ford (4F9Z-15200-AA) that's the part number you need that will bolt right into the assembly kit you got and that's a Motorcraft part so you know it will work right.
I talked about it in the top speed video, but I’m not 100% sure when they burnt up, but I know they didn’t last long. Thanks for the part number. I think it’s about time I upgraded my fogs lol.
@@RvaJay all you need is the small assembly everything else is useable by the factory part and thank you for the video because I am a newspaper carrier and I use my fusion for work and the last 2 days (time of replying) has been fog hell but I'm very curious what you thought about your night time driving with LEDs in your factory headlamps. I'm using the silverstar zxe golds and their amazing but because of my job I'm changing bulbs ever 3-4 months and I'm sick of ripping my front bumper off every 3-4 months just to change bulbs I dont have a garage so man.......its cold as hell or hot as hell in Oklahoma.....I'm curious about the throw distance of the LEDs because I do alot of playing dodge the deers and boar and I need something that has good distance plus lasts a long time
@@ricosuava21 The LEDs have been good to me so far, and I haven't had any issues. I'll do a video and compare my head lights and a car with factory LEDs. There's not much difference.

Where do you take the power in the front bumper?
You don’t need to take power anywhere. Just replace the original harness with the new one.

The harness is listed as 2013-2015 Ford Fusion Parking Fog Light Distance Control Wire Harness OEM NEW. Jst make sure it has the letter B or C or the end of the part number and it'll work. Btw, it was $27 shipped

Correct those are the knockoffs. They fit pretty good.

Also, how is the output of the fog lights? Would you say it’s equal to OEM ones?
I did an update in another video, but the fogs themselves are junk. Everything else is fine, and I wouldn’t recommend oem for anything else but the lights.

The car is already pre wired. All you need to do is swap in the new bumper harness and fog light switch.

It made perfect sense. This was one of my first videos, and I wanted to add some flare. Clearly I made the wrong choice lol.

The beauty of using Oem Ford parts. The new switch only adds the connections and the button for the fogs. Everything else on the on the button is the same
