I put this video together to try and help others find the parts needed to install fog lights since I couldnt find anyone that could help me or answer questions. I figured anyone looking for information would know a little about working on cars and could figure out how to run a wire harness.
I didnt think I needed to do a step by step and if anyone needed help then they would ask and Id be more then happy to help.
I was a bit excited to do this and didnt want to make a 45 min video showing me remove the front bumper and pulling off the harness then putting the new on in.
I want to see if I am lucky and have the wiring harness ready behind the fog light bezel. Can I remove and replace those easily, just to check prior to buying and installing the fog lights?

Hello if this helps anyone in the future that has a 2.5l 2017 ford fusion se, I used the harness HGNZ-15K867-J (Some cars come with this harness installed already, you’ll see the fog light connector behind the black bezels where the fog light would be, but I was not lucky). You need to order another switch (like one from a fusion that has fog lights) for the inside as well. You also need the fog lights and 2 bezels around them. Process wasn’t crazy complicated but takes some time + patience. You pretty much take off the bumper and swap out that harness attached to it with your new one (which is exactly the same as the original harness except with fog light output). The fog lights will work if everything is hooked up correctly but the icon will not show on the dash. To fix this you must download Forscan on a computer/device and use a Forscan scanner to enable fog lights through the codes. Hope this helps someone.
The video I made was to help others install there for lights...all that you just said is whats in my video...your right that come cars come with the harness already installed, mine didnt.

If anyone has already asked this I'm sorry, but how is everything holding up 4 years later? I also have a 2017 1.5 and I've been missing having fog lights since I bought it.
Still going strong with no problems. I plan to do am update video sometime soon.
That was probbly my video that you watched that I took the whole bumper off mine wasnt pre wired so I had to take the bumper off to add the new wire harness

No there are no adjustments for them. They work great as they are for me at least. Im not sure about other fog lights maybe there's something out there that can be adjusted.
that wiring harness is cheese flavored. A mouse ate mine today so i came here to see how it gets put in. sadly you didnt show that.
Its not hard to do. You have to remove the front bumper then from there is super easy. Let me know if you need more help?

I dont have a video of the harness being replaced but its really easy to do.
You need to remove the bumper and in order to do that once its off there will be a connection just inside the driver side fender that needs to be disconnected. The harness on the bumper that you disconnected inside the fender is the harness that you will be replacing. If you bought it from Ford then the old one will pop out and the new one will go right in place super simple.
Then you will connect the new harness back to the plug inside the driver side fender....thats it....re install the bumper and pull the for light wires/plugs through the for light openings.

The only place I was able to find the wire harness was from the dealer. I wanted something that I knew was going to work for sure and have all the mounting tabs be in the right place. Contact your local Ford dealer and ask for part # HG9Z-15K867-J
If you have to buy a aftermarket wiring harness where does it plug in now that there is the old wiring harness and wiring harness for just the fog lights? Or am I over thinking this somehow.
The wire harness I bought is from Ford not aftermarket, im not sure if there is an after market one but if so then they both connect the same way.
To do it right you need to remove the bumper and remove the old harness, the new one will fit right in place where the old was.
Then if you follow the harness you will see that it will go unto a connection point inside the driver side fender. Its really easy to do.

Hello! I have a 2018 Ford Fusion and I want to install Fog lights your video has taught me more then other videos, did you have to take off bumper? Was it difficult? I already have to take off bumper to add a new hood latch sensor so I was trying to do it all in one go
Hello, Im glad the video helped thats the reason I make them.
Taking the bumper off is the best...it makes everything so easy. Ive heard that some cars come with the fog light harness already there but of course mine didnt. Once you have the bumper off then you just replace the old with the new and it all lines up and snaps in. OH and you also need to disconnect and connect the new harness to the plug thats up in the driver side fender so with the bumper off thats all exposed.

Try doing a search on ebay for "zeytunautosports" I bought my lights from them. Just tell them you looking for OEM Led fog lights. I know you can get the lights and bezels from china or Taiwan in one kit but im not sure if there OEM or if they fit correctly.
I had to piece my setup together because no one else could tell me where to find them and I wasn't going to buy from the dealership. Let me know if I can help anymore.
Dont u have to progran the car to active the fog lights "nick the car guy" on his UA-cam channel said had to active his thru fordscan on his laptop so im wondering is that really necessary or you dint wanna say none about that??
How did you reolace the harness because i bought the same harness and it's seems that the grill shutter wire can't replace can you show me or any explains. Thanks
My ford came with pre wires just there. So all I need is that switch?
Yes if your car has the fog light wires already there then thats cool...saves you a heck of a lot ot work.
Just buy the switch and pop it in and your ready to go. If you want you dash to display when the lights are off and on then your gonna need to use Forscan to go in and make the change. Your lights will work either way

Thanks for this video Rich. Got a question about the wire harness. It doesn't seem to be long enough to reach back up to the switch; does it "meet" the existing harness somewhere in the engine bay and just connects straight to it?
Hello,
You need to remove your front bumper to replace the harness. The harness connection is just inside the driver side fender it doesnt go all the way to the switch.
All you need to do is replace the switch. It uses the existing switch harness no need to replace that.

HG9Z-15K867-J but it says is a parking aid sensor so idk if that’s going to work or not.

Hello, So my car didnt come with factory fog lights and I assume since your here neither did yours? If your car doesnt have the factory setup then the dash icon will not appear when your fog lights are on.
Not to worry this is an easy fix with a tool from ebay which is around $12.00, a laptop and a free program called Forscan. You go into your cars system and change a number and thats it. The cool thing is you can change all sorts of stuff on your car. I hate that auto shut off and got tired of turning it off each time I started the car so with the change of a number boom! Its now shut off.

How do you make adjustments to the light? I have factory installed led fog lights and the driver side is shining too low.

Im glad the video helped you Im planning on revising it and trying to make it a little better. It was my 1st ever so...
When I first did my fog lights I didnt want to remove the bumper because it looked like a lot of work and not something I felt like getting into so I router my new harness following the old one and left the old one tucked up and zip tied.
Now I did end up removing the bumper a month later to install my new Big Mouth air intake and found it to be really easy and it took less time then it did to route the harness without removing.
My advice...do it right and remove the bumper. The old harness comes right out and the new goes right in place of the old. Having a "clip remover plier" is really help full and cheap. Amazon has them or if there is a Harbor Freight near you thats even better.
-Pop your hood, there are a few bolts to remove
-The side wells are a little more work...remove the plugs and turn the wheel so you can get your hand in behind the bumper. Feel up near were the bumper meets the car and you will feel 2 bolts. I used a small socket wrench to remove them (2 on each side of the car).
-Look under the car now and you will see a bunch of screws and a few bolts. Remove them then the bumper is ready to be removed.
-There is a harness connection (maybe 2 I cant remember) just inside the bumper on the driver side that will need to be disconnected. I was able to reach mine from the driver side fog light opening before removing the bumper but you might be able to reach it with the bumper partially removed.
-Have a blanket laid out so you can place the bumper on it otherwise your going to scratch it up.
-Then once your done just put it all back together.

You have to buy the wire harness that has the wires for the fig lights, pull off your bumper and switch out the original with the new one. The Ford dealer part number is at the end of my video and in the description.
@@830los1 Its one harness that has the fog light wires on both ends.
So where can we buy the harness and how much and we replace it and like it has two connections to connect for both the fog lights and you just extend it and comedy them to both and then but the bumper back on and your good and just change the Fog light buttons?
Yep....The bumper comes off and you will see the old harness there. Remove it then install the new harness. Ill snap right into the same location as the old.
It has 2 extra wires for the fog lights. Once its all back together you then plug in the lights and thats it.
OH and you need the a new dash switch..one that has the fog light switch on it.

The new harness connects just inside the driver side fender. Your swapping out the old for the new. Its really easy once you remove the bumper.
So Inside the car the only think you need to do is replace the old switch with the one that has the fog light button.
OH and if you want the instrument panel to display the fog light symbol when there on then you will need to use forscan to turn that on.

No matter what it should be rather simple.
Are these LED fogs? Did they just plug in and work? Did you already have LED headlights? I am unable to get mine to turn on even though they get power.
Yes there LED.Did you upgrade you headlight switch? Since my car didnt come with fog lights the headlight switch didnt have the button to turn on the fog lights.
The solution was to swap the pins on each fog light connector. LEDs matter which is +/-. Halogens don't. The harness apparently wasn't wired for LED.
Plz show how you WIRE in your lightswitch!!!!
Have you already bought your new headlight switch? If your car didnt come with factory fog lights then you will need to upgrade the switch.

@@richd9771 I was finding them, but wasn’t sure which one was correct. I just got one in yesterday that has the fog light plugs, but not the bumper sensors (so it should be correct for my S)
@@RDMeags Im not sure if the sensors are a part of the same fog light harness.
@@richd9771 the C was the right one, one of the other specifically said that it had the bumper sensors so I avoided that cause I don’t have them. Installed last week, went well, the 2018 had a couple extra screws that the 2017 didn’t have, or I missed in you left video. Thanks. I also added a remote start (took 17 mins), rubberized floor mats, & window visors... tinting the windows soon and blacking out the chrome next spring.

How easy was the bumper removal? Do you still recommend these fog lights?
Bumper is easy to remove its just there are a bunch of screws. There are a bunch at the top after opening the hood and then a bunch at the bottom then a few in the wheel well. Those take a little work but once you do one side then the other isnt so bad. You will need to remove some of the wheel well liner plugs then pull it back to get your hand in there with a ratchet and socket.
Have a blanket out so you can lay your bumper on it.
I do like the for lights I show in my video better then the others. Im going to ship my head lights off soon to a guy out of state that does custom work, Im gonna have demon eyes and some other things done to them.

The fog light harness plugs connection is just inside the driver side fender. Once you remove the bummer you should see it.

You have to buy the switch that comes with fog lights button it's around like $34
In my description below on installing fog lights I have a list with all part numbers. The switch can be found on ebay for about $30.
Super easy to change the old one for the new one. You will need to use Forscan to go in and activate the fog light on / off indicator on the dash.
Activating the the dash indicator isn't needed to have the lights work but its a nice feature to have.
after you installed did you have to re-code it....
No I didnt have to re code but I did use Forscan to turn on the fog light indicator on the dash. You dont have to activate it but then you migh not know when your fog lights are on sometimes.

Yes, its really easy to do once you have the bumper removed. The new harness just plugs right in, no cutting of wires needed. If you need help removing the bumper let me know.
Now ebay has a bunch of fog light and some that come with the bezel.

@@richd9771 I did find a harness. But the lights aren't that bright and I got them from Amazon. I think I got a cheap aftermarket ones. How are yours? Do you get good light output?
Im still working on it but think Im getting close...tomorrow Im going to reconnect the lights and try turning OFF the DRL lights. Bi Xenon cant be starved for power or else problems comes up. I keep reading that if you have DRL then they have to be turned off or re directed. Ill let you know what happens.

Removed the front bumper and replaced the old harness with new then put it all back together.
Removed the old dash light switch and replaced with the new one. Everything just plugs right in.
I used Forscan to turn the fog light indicator on so that it shows up on the display cluster.

I bought the bezels (the covers) from Ford and the fog lights from ebay (make sure there OG Ford parts).
Now you can buy everything on ebay a little cheaper. When I fisrt bought my car it was so new that there wasnt much to choose from which is why I started this page...I wanted to help others find these parts.
Just search ebay but you will want to go to Ford to order the light harness. All the part numbers you need to do this are listed above.

Thingamajiggy, this little guy, " newer cars these are stuck on here real well." new or old that's kind of the point so they don't fall off they're supposed to be stuck on the real well... That's so they don't fall off. Title information on fog light install, but the only thing you did not show us os. L how to install the fog lights. Better title should be pictures of parts for fog lights and headlight switch install.
