i fugured out this 200iq move only at 100 hours i train for celing shots/ air dribbles (i am only plat) now this might sound stupid but this way i can improve my arials, hitting the ball in the air, dribbles, and racoveres all at the same time now this only works for me as i like car/ racing games so naturally my car controll in is good (i lernt speed flip in silver but now have it consistant in plat) *kinda consistat
Tbh i would rather be in the 3000 hours, just because i like practicing flashy mechanics, i get someone who has gc in 1k hours can have the same game sense as 3k hours, but the level of mechanics are gonna be much different from 1k to 3k, like ive recently hit champ about a month or 2 ago, and i have around 1.3k hours, i only just started consistently hitting (fairly) flashy mechanics in ranked like clean/effective ceiling shots, flip resets, etc, so even if it took me double the time ive already played the game to get to gc, i would be much happier with my level of mechanics and my overall gameplay
Yeah as a c3 with 3300 hours I am kinda glad I’ve learnt what I have, I’ve been working on mechanics a ridiculous amount, I knew it wasn’t good but I liked it. After I got consistent with triple resets I started thinking about my rank more and that’s what I’m working on now, hopefully I’ll make gc this season
Honestly, I think Wayton is the best RL UA-camr. Super thorough with everything. I have definitely learned the most from him compared to other people that do tutorials. Thanks, Waytoney!!!
You can also see how many hours you have played on Epic by going to your library and clicking the 3 dots. It will say You've Played and then the days hours minutes and seconds.
You can read backboard consistently as a diamond, if learning backboard is all you do.. just like plats that know how to aerial but are still plat.. they focus all their time and learning to that one skill and lack others so their rank is low
THANK YOU NOW MY TM8S NOW KNOW TO NOT AIR ROLL FOR EVERYTHING 😭,and I just wanted to say how underrated & great of a UA-camr you are to the rl community , everything you say helps and it's helped me From my humble beginnings in bronze all the way to diamond 2 in under 200 hours so thank you wayton if I go pro I'll make sure to remember you😁👍🏾the 🐐 wayton

LEGENDARY VIDEO BRO!!! I personally think this is one of your best videos because after I watched it I realised how much it make sense! I cannot wait to hop into comp and apply these tips! I am going to work on my boost management and stop trying to improve on my freestyling when I do not yet have the mechanics. I will work more on my freestyling when I am better at the game. Thanks again for these tips, cannot wait for your next vid!
Thank you SO much man. This video just got me to champ. I haven’t played for two seasons and i had played for about a week and a half, so I got off of rl watched this video, and got back on because I wanted to try what you said and I used to be around D2 but got to champ because of this video. AND WE JUST WON A CHAMP TOURNAMENT!!!
When I was still in Gold I also thought that "being faster" means going fast and recover fast but it took me a hundred of hours before I realized that it means to react to things faster with better consistency and coupled that with "slowing down" as not every touch (ball-chasing) is a good touch is what made me jump to the high platinum in very short time. And yeah as you said you should always focus on something because without training a certain skill it's very hard to learn it in just gameplay alone, training is VITAL if you feel stuck like you're not progressing. Even going through a training pack once a day with difficult touches and shadow defense has helped me so much in the gameplay.
love your insight and opinions wayton, although there are some personal contradictions here. I'm totally focused like you said...but on aerial control and fine tuning how to roll my car in the air to get the opposing force and pinpoint touches, while also being high diamond. :p
I've been playing since 2016 went through so many accounts. So no idea how many hours. But I'm in champ 1. And I've missed prob 2 of the years In there and became rusty or quit gaming for a bit cuz of life.
As much as I hate to admit this, the focus tip is true. I have 5.5k hours and am bare ssl. While my buddy who is under 3k is solid low ssl. And I’ve been the one to just hop in and play and slowly improve, while he is amazing at focusing and improving quickly at something.
2:00 Another way you can stop your car’s motion after hitting the ball is holding your regular airoll button during contact (something Fireburner said)
I’m a 1s player and just got to GC (in 1s, haven’t reached GC in any other gamemode yet) in about 2.5k hours. Honestly, I spent more time in free play (1k) and playing casual to improve my mechanics with low consequences (700-1k) than I ever did in ranked.
My friends have asked me what the spinning is for, and my usual answer is just "I have no fucking idea, but it just works better when you do it." Also, that 1000 hour vs. 3000 hour thing is bullshit. Obviously I'd want to be the guy with 3000 hours, because assuming both have been training just as hard, the 3000 hour guy is going to be way better, but just with less ranked games under their belt. Like I barely ever play ranked, because I'm still training and working on my mechanics and all that shit. I could, and indeed do still make GC when I feel like it, but it's pointless, because I don't care about GC. It's the exact same as silver to me. So I'd much rather just play casual and training for 3000 hours to get my shit in check, then go play ranked with guys with 1000 hours of ranked grind behind them, and absolutely destroy them. As indeed I do now, on the rare occasion that I play ranked. A guy with 1000 hours cannot stand up to a guy with 3000 hours, as long as both of them use equal amounts of time to actually get better at the game. Rank is wholly irrelevant. Bronze, plat or GC, it's all trash anyway, who gives a shit. SSL is the goal, and when you're not at that level, there's no reason to play ranked. Just go practice instead.
welll shit.... The 3000h thing and the question got me hard.... i have now 1500h and atm i try DTs and Flip resets.. but ...yea...i join ranked games and care rly much about my rank...
Having something to focus on is so true. I reached GC within 1100 hours with minimal ranked games played alone. Instead, I focused on the core fundamentals to truly grow as a player. Now the question is, how in the hell do I get to SSL? Cause it feels like I've reached a ceiling. I've been focusing only on boost management, pads, efficient rotations, airplay, and ground play, but it feels like I'm not getting better at any of those, no matter how much I play.💀
I've always just been a middling plat player, but I had never taken the game very seriously. Just jumped into games here and there and tried to play as well as I could. A few weeks ago I decided to start practicing something (in my case just hitting the ball with more purpose and power on aerials). Ran a few training packs with a focus on hitting balls in the air maybe 4-5 times a week. Also thinking about back post rotations from a different video. Went from Plat2 to Diamond1 in like 2 weeks. Feel like I have way more control in the air and even on the ball. Next up is learning basic things like speed flips and half flips. It's so obvious in retrospect but working on a skill instead of "just playing" makes such a difference.
I've been playing for like 30 hours freeplay included and got 9-1 in my ranked placement games, got very lucky I guess even tho I didn't screwed too much ( thanks to good content like yours, I was able to quickly understood the basis of the game). I got lucky enough to get diamond Div II. It's really clear that I absolutely don't deserve that rank and will not for the next few months, I'm still struggling with the ball cam :D But bingwathching your videos like I did will help me to not fall too deep in the tiers once the algorythm will see how fraudulent i'm am I'm still afraid of playing more ranked as everyone is clearly playing way better than me. :3
For ANYONE who said champ is extremely toxic, I'm very lucky. I just hit GC less than a week ago, and throughout my time in Champ, I never really ran into toxic kids. Yes! Of course I saw some! But not nearly as much as you'd think. Although, I really am a chill player, when kids are toxic and what a saving. I just sweat and let my skill do the talking. They shut up real fast! xD
AIR DRIBBLE (diamond 3) I got diamond in 90 hours of playing thanks to my champ friend who mentored me (we played together and grew together. He was plat 3 and I was gold 3 when we first started, and now I'm diamond 3 with him being champ 1 :D)
Should I start solo queue? Im afraid because im in plat 2 but im peaked d1 so Im probabaly better, and when they make misktakes I get more mad than I should because I forget Im in plat 2 lobbies. and they never know rotations and always bump me. and I always get smurfs that are like champ trying to boost their plat friend. and if I dont have a tm8 to back me up when I push, I usally get scored on. or when its my turn clearly to push or rotate back, they are always double commiting and not pushing when Im supposed to clearly rotate back. It annoys me so badly, and I just never know if I should risk my rank. I have to admit I care to much for my rank and I have not learned to adapt yet, but I really dont know if I should solo queue or not. Advise? Sorry for the 2hr long essay! 😅
The "just do it" (force yourself to try things in game and learn new mechanics) is something I learned recently and it's helped me SO much. I decided to try air dribbles/wall aerials just for fun knowing damn well they're way out of my skill level with less than 80 hours in game. Then after learning it I realized how much it helped me with aerial control, boost management and wall reading and I got my first air dribble goal in a game yesterday. My friends are all amazed how much I've improved in such a short amount of time. Being timid in game was definitely holding me back.

im only gc 3 at 1 hour is that good???🥺
@@amantu8638literally impossible lmfao
After 1000s of hours I have learnt... I need to quit playing video games then get out of my parents basement and find a job.
I am plat but I can flip reset 🙃
probably why ur in plat
Me too 🙃
you rarely see that in plat tbh
@@lechameleon625 due to my internet
even in c3 I don't see many flip resets
You can also check how many hours you have on rl on Nintendo switch, I have 340-345 hours on rocket league btw
Me: 1500 hours at c3 complaining because I can’t get gc
Also me: alright new day let’s just play ranked and wing it
I’ve been playing since October 2015 and I have 600 hours in game time and 5.6k hours in the menu trading ;-;
On console, go to profile - stats - in the top it show days played, though not actual hours. Just divide and math to et you hours.
Why do I get adds for apps I already have :/
Tbh i would rather be in the 3000 hours, just because i like practicing flashy mechanics, i get someone who has gc in 1k hours can have the same game sense as 3k hours, but the level of mechanics are gonna be much different from 1k to 3k, like ive recently hit champ about a month or 2 ago, and i have around 1.3k hours, i only just started consistently hitting (fairly) flashy mechanics in ranked like clean/effective ceiling shots, flip resets, etc, so even if it took me double the time ive already played the game to get to gc, i would be much happier with my level of mechanics and my overall gameplay
That’s not the point though. He’s saying it’s faster to learn when you have a goal in mind when queuing ranked.
@@faisalalshemeili2600 thats not the point of my reply, i was just giving my opinion on why i'd rather get gc in 3k hours instead of 1k
waste 2000 hours of your life.... You aren't making a good decision. You aren't immortal and you are going to die like everyone else.
Ya i got bored of ranked and moved on to freestyling and i gotta say its way more fun than ranked for me
Does watching rl yt vids count as "putting hours into rl"? Currently I have about 130 hours in game
I know I have 270 in game hours but I have way more in training and stuff, but I’m on ps4 so I can’t see until the end of the year in rewind
What rocket league teached me is ITS BETTER to learn things the hard way better!!!
could i also just focus on shot placement or is that not enough? im d2
see i would like to play rocket league but my audio cuts out randomly and it's super irritating
U can see how many hours u have but it just says it in days of hours
thats in game you have played, not in training, the menu etc..
My free styling even though I’m gold but I’m cracked
i have 700 hours and im champ 1 and mostly "freestyle"
me watching this after 7 hours of being uploaded 👍
How have I been paying for years I’m GC and still thought spinning was for arial control instead of double taps 😂
It is for aerial control…
Honestly, I think Wayton is the best RL UA-camr. Super thorough with everything. I have definitely learned the most from him compared to other people that do tutorials. Thanks, Waytoney!!!
You can also see how many hours you have played on Epic by going to your library and clicking the 3 dots. It will say You've Played and then the days hours minutes and seconds.
I’ve been practicing ceiling shots and I just started
shoutout to the BSU boys for helping with the vid :)

"You tend to learn a lot"
*Shows clip of him missing a musty*
im a 900 hour gc and i just hop straight into ranked
You can read backboard consistently as a diamond, if learning backboard is all you do.. just like plats that know how to aerial but are still plat.. they focus all their time and learning to that one skill and lack others so their rank is low
That, and they tend to not try any if this in casual, and fuck their rank up more practicing 😂
7000 hours Later Still Battling This Game 😂😉💖Love The Vid 💖😁
Im a gold and i can do double reset no stall
then learn how to play the game instead of doing double resets
THANK YOU NOW MY TM8S NOW KNOW TO NOT AIR ROLL FOR EVERYTHING 😭,and I just wanted to say how underrated & great of a UA-camr you are to the rl community , everything you say helps and it's helped me From my humble beginnings in bronze all the way to diamond 2 in under 200 hours so thank you wayton if I go pro I'll make sure to remember you😁👍🏾the 🐐 wayton
I have done your air dribble pack shot over thousand times and I scored only once in the pack and not even a single in game but I am still trying to learn
And I am gold
Copycat vid from thanos channel
you can check on xbox too if you go to achievements -> stats
Hey Wayton Could you make a discord
I have 500 hours and i'm champ 1
9:16 air dribbles,flip resets & flicks.
I have been working on free styling
Is 48 hours good for mid-plat?
Nice vid. This is going to help me a lot. Keep it up
How can u play a game for 7000 hours
I thought the title said "700 hours" and I was like: "Damn this guy knows all of this and I dont know shit with 500hours?!"
Wayton can you share your controls?
Yo never been this much early
You're truly helping this old man out. Thank you for everything you do for the community!
Best RL video i have seen in a while
love your insight and opinions wayton, although there are some personal contradictions here. I'm totally focused like you said...but on aerial control and fine tuning how to roll my car in the air to get the opposing force and pinpoint touches, while also being high diamond. :p
Can you see hours on epic gAmes
You could also just be holding air roll, it also cancels the recoil. No need to spin. Thanks to Fireburner for this tip :)
I've been playing since 2016 went through so many accounts. So no idea how many hours. But I'm in champ 1. And I've missed prob 2 of the years In there and became rusty or quit gaming for a bit cuz of life.
is 210 and champ one good?
As much as I hate to admit this, the focus tip is true. I have 5.5k hours and am bare ssl. While my buddy who is under 3k is solid low ssl. And I’ve been the one to just hop in and play and slowly improve, while he is amazing at focusing and improving quickly at something.
the golds with 72 hours O_O
me when wayton said: what have you been working on lately
Me be like: I have online school
2:00 Another way you can stop your car’s motion after hitting the ball is holding your regular airoll button during contact (something Fireburner said)
I’m a 1s player and just got to GC (in 1s, haven’t reached GC in any other gamemode yet) in about 2.5k hours.
Honestly, I spent more time in free play (1k) and playing casual to improve my mechanics with low consequences (700-1k) than I ever did in ranked.
My friends have asked me what the spinning is for, and my usual answer is just "I have no fucking idea, but it just works better when you do it."
Also, that 1000 hour vs.
#1 doesn't explain why people air roll continuously BEFORE making contact. Spinning while making contact IS helpful, beforehand, not so much.
It's really clear that I absolutely don't deserve that rank and will not for the next few months, I'm still struggling with the ball cam :D
But bingwathching your videos like I did will help me to not fall too deep in the tiers once the algorythm will see how fraudulent i'm am
I'm still afraid of playing more ranked as everyone is clearly playing way better than me.
I’ve been working on flip resets. I can see the improvement since may this year.
