Kinda funny how after Jack taught you all that about your offence and defence, in the game it mostly came down to him just being so consistent. Goes to show just how insane pros really are.
And it shows how important kickoffs are. You can be really good in terms of 1v1 iq, offensive mechanics, defensive positioning, all that stuff but if their kickoff is better than yours you will still struggle
Man, impressive work yet again Wayton my friend. The idea and execution are top notch as expected. Very fun one too watch at well. Tyvm for the content.

It's insane how high the skill ceiling is. Wayton was already GC 1 in 1v1 which is insane and he still lost 14:1????? Like what? How much better can someone get?
@@Keenadian GC1 in 1s was actually top 0.25% last season. Surprisingly the gameplay in the low GC ranks is still pretty bad in all three main playlists
Love to see Jack on a couple of other channels. He's a lot more grown up than most other RL personalities and as an RL-boomer I find that really refreshing.
When you did the second 1v1 against Jack, I feel you need to account for the fact that he's been watching your gameplay, so he knows how you plays and what your weaknesses are, compared to the first 1v1 where he likely didn't know that at first
@@MrPinkDino Kinda knowing each other doesnt equal knowing the playstyle of each other, jack is from europe wayton from na they never really played each other. Also it doesnt really matter if jack knew the playstyle or not (i mean it wouldnt reflect in the score), scrubnoob can eat gc1s like payton 2v1 lmao he literally has a series dedicated to that, those pros are on an another level
About the defending the wall, I learned a trick to help prevent this from happening. When your shadowing, you will probably see the opponent’s goal, so use the opponent’s goal to see where the post is. Then you will know how far away you are from the post. I’m only diamond is 1v1 so it might not be the best strategy but it might help.
The real end to this story is that after improving a lot and getting closer to jack he still loses to some trash players in gc1 ranked, for this is the cycle of 1s.
Nice work! Had an insight earlier today before watching this video, and felt like it ties in quite nicely: - Start by focusing on what the opponent can't do, and then how to bait them into an even worse scenario. (especially getting them to waste boost, or fly deeper out of position) - Don't focus on scoring, until you know you have an open net.
That call for Wayton to wait longer then he was comfortable with, because he knew the other guy wouldn't challenge it, was so cool to see. I love that kind of mind reads in Rocket League.
I love it. While him watching and teaching you during the game, he also is reading the enemy giving you advices on what the counter is. Need a trainer on my side for a few games haha.
I main ones because it makes every move more exciting. If you make a good move, it feels extremely good. If you fail, you get punished. It makes every decision you make more interesting and let’s you try more.
Great video ! I have the same problem with my spacing in defense, I think it's mainly when one is not that confortable with their shadow defense, you tend to want to take a wider angle to avoid having to fully defend backwards
Congrats for the great content every time Wayton. I'm a bachelor on film and work as a director/editor and your videos are always surprisingly well put together. Not that I'm an authority or anything but it takes a creator to know the hard work and talent it takes to make such a consistent great delivery for your audience. Keep it up man!! Also its a pleasent coincidence that you're similar ranked to me and I completely relate to your evolution. I also hate 1s cause I suck at it, I'll give it another shot after this video :)
Key tips: 1. Use figure eight pattern on offense in 1s to break down the opponent's defense (basic ground shot, steal corner boost, regain possession, shoot again, steal corner boost, etc...) 2. Practice dribbling and flicks in freeplay, shot placement with Aim Training steam workshop map 3. Improve awareness on shadow defense, make sure you are close enough to the post and have enough momentum to defend the shot (don't "defend the wall".)
Good info man. I actually enjoy 1s. Started off only playing 1s cuz I heard it was best for improvement and now I just flat out love 1v1 more than the other modes. And gotta love jack. Seems like such a good dude
This video has been more helpful than any other I’ve watched I was diamond 1 and lost like 30 matches got down to plat 2 and I just got my rank back thanks to this video
I see all these cool tips and strategies in Waytons videos, and here i am still having to get some consistency in basic shots and mechanics xD being new in a game is sooo hard.
I literally just used the first 4 minutes and ranked up from plat 1 div 2 to plat 2 div 2 in 40 minutes and didn't lose a single game in that time, and all of the games but one were complete blowouts. Incredible video.

The video was awesome, honestly. I can take the hints for myself because I don't have the mechanics, but I see many people will see this as a treasure. I do love the videos here Aaaand by the way Wayton, in my humble opinion you should get a new photo, I always thought you were an asian teenager by your default pic =D
