The reason that us plats randomly leave balls after we lose them is that we're used to having teammates breathing directly down our necks waiting for an opportunity to swoop in and take the ball for themselves. They are like vultures circling their dying prey
This annoys the shit out of me, honestly. Players who, for some reason, feel the need to play 'backup' by sitting in your shadow and huffing your exhaust fumes. Then as soon as you've made a single touch on the ball they swoop in like "my turn now" to brainlessly pelt it into the general direction of the opponent's net, regardless of where they are on the map. Like, for fuck sake, just let me make an actual play. You don't need to sit behind me 'incase I miss it'. Just go somewhere else and give me some space so I can pass the ball to you properly.

Man, platinum is strange, i am platinum and every match either i play against some people who can air drible, flip reset and a lot of mechanical stuff or i play against a silver who knows how to rotate
going to be honest, champ 3 here, my entire time playing rocket league for maybe 1800 hours or so, i've seen a player with that level of raw mechanical skill maybe 5 or 6 times. usually air dribbles and flip resets even around my rank end up rolling in or barely passing as something intentional.
Title is 100% true, I’m in diamond and occasionally I get a plat teammate and literally nothing but chasing and they don’t even try to take control of the ball
The problem in plat is that we(I am one myself) are extremely inconsistent in our plays and the skill is indeed unbalanced. If I were in a position like the guys in the first game I'd also kinda suck at attacking because my plays come from improvising - If the ball is in the air in front of the net I go for it, but I'd not be able to set up such an shot
The reason this happens is because most plats can’t dribble or flick so they just flip at the ball hoping it goes in. I learnt a bit of dribbling and I went from plat 1 to plat 3 over the weekend now I am trying to learn flicks and reach diamond
I couldn't agree more. However, still part of the problem... But if I may... As a plat, these games happen maybe 1 out of 7 times, in 3's at least. And furthermore, this is moreso a shining example of the teammates I get. I'm not saying that I don't belong where I am, just saying I wish the whole plat rank was a bit more devoted to the game, and hungry for wins. The worst thing is when a team goes up by 2, even if it's only a minute and a half into the game, at least 1 teammate immediately wants to forfeit. It's pretty disheartening. Regardless though, he's not wrong... The truth is just a bit painful.
In plat, the winning strategy is to just take as many on target shots as you can. They don't have to be good shots, but if you just lob the ball at the goal, you'll probably win because people aren't good enough to rotate properly or consistently make saves.
I’ve been mainly training dribbling for this reason - I notice we have space, so I go for a dribble and I can’t set up my flick fast enough. That, or my teammate hits it off of my car

Fun vid, needed more explanation of why you think plat is the worst rank imo. Felt like it was just a throwaway comment that players can climb to plat with a multitude of skills, with other areas significantly lacking. Ive seen P1 Players with the same mechanics of a D3 but they just make stupid decisions and give the ball away or put themselves in positions that make the shots they are trying to hit much harder then they have to be, getting out of plat has nothing to do with mechanics and everything to do with game sense and positioning, you need to know basic ariels but thats basically it
6:25 I saw few RLC People in my rank doing that when defending. When I was defending, I literally was prepared for a worse save and that's the exact same thing that happened in one of my matches.
Silver is for sure the worst. Games are either nail-biters that go to OT or absolute slaughters with no in between. Get randos smurfing constantly. If you can musty you aren't a silver. How is it fun for a GC to come destroy people new to the game? Of course your double tap works most of us silvers are just trying to get our car facing the right way lol.
And hence probably the most difficult rank to get out from lmfao you never know what you gonna get as teammates & opponents, in my case its always air dribbling gods as opponents & teammates ball chasing whole game & what a saving! everyone else for rest of the match
Hit diamond in 2s coming up on 2.5 days played. I can't air dribble. Or normal dribble. Or accurately shoot. I just prioritise defence and pass the ball to my teammate. Getting closer to diamond 2
I think most plats are boosted by friends. They literally can't even hit the ball or save ground shots. They get down a goal and either start trolling or just leave all together. I roll over high plats with my gold teammate.
I got from gold to champ in 4 months just playing when I felt like it for fun soooo if you’ve been a plat for a while no excuse just vibeeee and playyy and learnnn
Wth, i just watch this now. I use almost the same strategy as that. The most important thing is not to overcommit and use shadow defense. I'm able to reach champ 1 only with that
I feel the big difference between mechanical and positional players is the positional players are more capable of adapting to the opponent, as I win many of my games in the last 2 1/2 min of the game, whereas mechanical players are bound to their one or two areas of expertise (i.e. ball carrying, double taps, aerials etc.), and when you take that away, they tend to look like gold level players, even in champ. although I am in C1 and rely on positioning and adapting to the opponent,i still see very few mechanical players who can be a threat in more than one situation, if they walk the ball up the wall everytime, take the wall away. When they dribble does it look like their car is magnetic? shadow them. are they going to take ceiling shots and feed for 5 min? just ff and find a more interesting match.
If they want to ceilingshot, always do high challenges (or at least challenge at the same height), the chance of their shot being below the ball in champ is higher, so you win most of the 50/50's
@@Malam_NightYoru its not the ability to save those shots and play that game, its the patience to play a very slow game where its impossible to enjoy playing, ill just take the ff and find someone who wants to actually play against me and not do a training pack in a live game
Is this really plat? I am plat but when I play in a competitive match for plat, it is very difficult. It is more fast pace than this. Plat rank is basically the middle ground for bad and good players in rocket league because you can find good and bad players in that rank.
This gets at what I have always experienced and said ... the optimal strategy really varies from one rank to the next. Unless you work on your mechanics and can simply outclass your opponents, the strategy you find that gets you out of one rank and into the next might suddenly top working at the next level. For players that decide to play like this instead of working on mechanics, if you are good at puzzle solving, you can move up without any real mechanics. Hence Plat.
Diamond is by far worst rank, played 3-4 games and if you make 1 mistake your tm8 instantly stops trying or just leaves. But then they miss the ball just as much as you, my first game in D1 the my tm8 missed an open net going 10mph and both opponents came back in time with the ball still slowly rolling with lots of space to save it still... and they both missed the ball

In play, u can either lose to an opponent 0-8
And can win to adufferent opponent 8-0
So the people in plat are really different
What makes it the worst is that they act like they're the best and continue to play terribly
Why is there so many bad players in platinum? Makes me so angry, maybe 1 out of 10 games is with decent team mates.....so frustrating.
IKR until the end of the season I was silver 3 in 3s and it was terrible, they were so smurfs it was crazy
the thing is plats are chill from my experience i got supported by my opponents when my tm8 was toxic
Just broke into champ on 2’s yesterday…. Feels bad that the plat can hit nicer shots than me😂😭
And hence probably the most difficult rank to get out from lmfao
you never know what you gonna get as teammates & opponents, in my case its always air dribbling gods as opponents & teammates ball chasing whole game & what a saving! everyone else for rest of the match
Platnum rocket league is like high school hockey.
I think the plays are air dribbling because they are in casual, because for me like 90 percent of players don’t do that in ranked. I’m in plat 1 btw
Hit diamond in 2s coming up on 2.5 days played. I can't air dribble. Or normal dribble. Or accurately shoot. I just prioritise defence and pass the ball to my teammate. Getting closer to diamond 2
The real lesson here is that counter attacking is too hard to defend for plats.
Usually there is one Defender and two on offense
I think most plats are boosted by friends. They literally can't even hit the ball or save ground shots. They get down a goal and either start trolling or just leave all together. I roll over high plats with my gold teammate.
yes that's very logical of you, no form of problematic reasoning here
@@scubasteve6175 thanks bro subsribe and hit that like button!
I got from gold to champ in 4 months just playing when I felt like it for fun soooo if you’ve been a plat for a while no excuse just vibeeee and playyy and learnnn
The lesson here is that you don't need a strategy if everyone in the game is trash
"I can flip reset and i am a platinum 2 , I NEED TO BE A DIM "
I and my friend did this one time cuz we were plat then, and we won 8 of 10 placement matches
The one time I admit that I’m gold 3
Bru. I wish i could play against Plat's like the ones in the video. The plats we go up against are sweats man.
News Flash: Bronze is the worst rank
This works in diamond as well climbed through d2 with this strat
I’ve played in diamond lobbies so many times and im starting to feel like plat lobbies are harder lmao
Is this really plat? I am plat but when I play in a competitive match for plat, it is very difficult. It is more fast pace than this. Plat rank is basically the middle ground for bad and good players in rocket league because you can find good and bad players in that rank.
Plat is the rank where everyone has massive flaws in their gameplay...
I played a platinum game before on comp and they were free styling how the hell
Here’s why some “plats” are not bad: ……*teammates*😕😕😕😕
