The two of you are troopers. You have handled the snow well whether walking, hiking or driving, I may have to skip Norway and spend my time in Finland. You are the best at what you do.
We haven't been to Norway yet, but from the looks of it we wouldn't recommend skipping! We are dying to go to Norway! But there are many amazing things to do in Finland as well like we've shown. Thank you!
Kampanisu has many local variations (and often families have their own recipe, which is a variation of the local version). Some use more sugar, some less, and some not at all (in the East Lapland less sugar is used than the West Lapland, in Kemijärvi no sugar at all). There is also variation in the number of fingers depending on the place. The common number is 4 (Salla) or 5 (Kemijärvi), but there are 3, 6, and even 7 finger versions (Kuusamo). In some areas, it is bent into a steep arc, which makes it look like reindeer antlers.
As a Finn I really enjoyed this series 😊 especially the cabin episode, it reminded me of my grandmothers cabin on an island in central Finland. It is so peaceful to be in a cabin middle of nowhere 😁

Korouoma is awesome. I've visited during all of our four seasons and it never disappoints, even after multiple visits there's still more to explore. Autumn is also nice with all the colors. The climb out is a workout, especially if done multiple times a day with a backpack. Wilderness cafe owners are also very nice people. If you encounter a semi truck in bad weather you can't slow down, because longer you are in the cloud more likely you are going off the road. If it is clear so you can see far, but only when the truck is going past you lose visibility and you see it far away you have to look at the road where it is going before the truck is past you and follow it as best as possible. 2. If you can't see the road like in example 1, you have to look at the red posts on the side of the road then you see you are going on the right tracks. When you are near them on your passanger side you are good. 3. Best thing on bad weather is to have open a navigation app that follows you in real time then you see where the road goes so you can anticipate the turns and see them. Sometimes this is the only thing you see when the weather is really bad you have to turn according to the navigation app. And that is scary. I recommend Waze as the app.

@@joojoojeejee6058 Yes, where we are in the southern part, we use all season tires outside of winter and winter tires during the winter season. In some parts of Canada, the studded tires are allowed only during some months and in some areas commercial vehicles are required to use studded tires during the winter. In areas where you can RV in the winter, winter tires and some sort of traction device like chains are required. Some areas of Canada can get really frigid temperatures. Alberta this year has had a few days around -45C (without the wind chill). On the other hand we have had a very mild and dry winter in southern Ontario although we did have a couple of weeks with the temp hovering around -27 C.
By the way. I was born in Rovaniemi, and many of my relatives lives there today.. Did my military service there aswell... But Rovaniemi was nothing like this back when I lived there... It was totally destroyed during WW2. I was born in 1970,and we lived in some "military barracks" that the Germans had built and left behind 😢... It was built by the infamous Waffen SS (6:th, Gebirgsjäger Division men)... But I must tell you all that they where seen as real gentlemen, and my father got to taste chocolate for the first time as a child and it was one of these Waffen SS officers, that had given him that chocolate bar... Hitler had given them direct orders to behave themselves against the Finnish population, and maybe that helped out, I don't know. But it was they who destroyed Rovaniemi and blew up, burnt down basically every single building, during the Lapland war of 1944 to 1945..(Finns had to get them out from Finland and they started to fight each other later on, because that was what the western commissioners had demanded Finns to do... My fathers cousin took part in that war, even if he had fought during the winter war (against the Soviets), Waffen SS Viking in Germany (against the Soviets as a officer ) and the Finnish continuation war (against the Soviets)... He said that he did not have no problems to go to war against the Germans, because if that was something Finland had said him to do. He had to do it, and to not have an opinion of his own....

Apparently "all season tires" are popular there... In Finland the law requires winter tires (studded or without).
We were thankful to have them!
