We’re off to the Arctic Circle! And to get there, we’re taking an overnight train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi, Finland. We booked a private sleeper cabin (with a SHOWER!) for the 12 hour ride, which was a pretty amazing way to travel!

Haha very cool. I love the economy of space of partially converting the bathroom to the shower. Our camper shower is half the size of that. So this is luxury!
We loved that as well! Yes it is much bigger and taller than ours as well! Just needed a bit of hot water!
That was so fun! I'm glad neither of you seem to be claustrophobic. I kept thinking if I were Kathryn I would have been so scared of Adam's bunk falling on me. 😆
haha thankfully everything felt pretty solid!
We did the same train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi a year and a half ago! It was a great experience, The only complaint we had is that the shower water never got warm! Our weather was quite the opposite though. Europe was having a heat wave, and the high temp in Rovaniemi was 88 degrees F! We slept so well on the train though, with the comfortable beds and air conditioning.
Oh wow! That would be fun to experience also. We'd love to go back in the summer. Coming from Texas, 88 degrees F is an out of the ordinary cool summer day 😂
@@AdventuresofAplusK upper 60s is the average temp, so we were surprised! It is a very different experience then too, because of the midnight sun. So weird when the sun never set!
This was really fun to watch! I've enjoyed your Finland vlogs so far, I'm already looking forward to the next one!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
That train ride seemed to be a lot of fun( tiny but mighty) the apt description! Catching up on the other 2 videos in this series.
Thanks for taking us along. Can't wait to see more!!!
Your videos about Finland have not disappointed at all! Good content👍
Happy to hear that! Thank you!
How much FUN! Bless you on your way. ❤
Hi guys! Just letting you know that there are no cockroaches in Finland. It's way too clean and cold.
Good to know!

Awesome!!! I traveled to the Artic Circle driving the Dalton Highway from Fairbanks Alaska with my friends truck!!! I'll never forget that trip!!!
Awesome! We did the Dempster in 2022. Incredible experience!
We Sami people live north of the Arctic Circle, in the north of snow, reindeer, Christmas ticks and unlimited internet connection! Progress reaches even the floweriest corners.
What a fun experience! Cabin looked nice and clean! Looking forward to seeing the original HoHoHo! Great video guys! ~Cara 😊

First time going to Rovaniemi, couldn't rly sleep, but coming back, slept like a baby.
Have to remember noice canceling earbuds or something for next time.
Nice! There are many different ways to travel depending on the place.
You guys are so cute...love it❗ Enjoy your travels and smooches 😘 to Kona where ever she's at📍
Just stumbled across your channel and really enjoying the content! New subscriber from Wales 🏴!
Wales! Awesome! Thank you and thanks for watching!
I know you are trying to be civilized, but the term is snotcycles. I love trains here. The click, click, click and the rocking? Oh to die for. 😂
I wish we would've heard that then! That is too funny!
@@AdventuresofAplusK On the main line, the click, click went in the 1980s with the continuous welded track.
Can't wait to see more! I'm headed to Hawaii for the first time in a little over 3 weeks, staying on the Big Island (and running the Hilo marathon). I've reviewed your Hawaii videos to get some ideas.
Oooo we're so jealous! Make sure to check out our website as well. We have lots of Big Island Content!

Good luck in the marathon! 💪
I've always slept well on a train, I never had any problems falling asleep or waking up mid trip.
You guys are so fun!! Thanks for the experience….not sure it’s for us 😮
Another great one guys the train was real cool small but very nice & the meat balls did look like Ikea food to funny stay safe out there miss seeing Kona
It was tight, but a nice use of space. The meatballs were solid! We missed Kona as well!
Such a great video per usual guys! 👏🏼❄️ we laughed out loud at the coffee spill, that bump couldn’t have happened at a worse time. 🤣💀 Excited for the next one!
Thanks guys! What unfortunate timing huh!? 😂
@@AdventuresofAplusK oh my gosh the worst! haha Great video y’all!
We took Amtrak from Tucson to LA at least 10 years ago. We booked a room with bunk beds as we departed Tucson around 6:00 PM. I thought we would get a good nights sleep before arriving in LA at 5:30 AM to changed trains. Boy was I wrong! I was so miserable in the top bunk that I got dressed and found an empty seat in 2nd class. Enjoyed seeing your experience!
I took the Hertz two-person train and rode west, south, and east from Chicago. Without shower and Sauna! I hiked 9,000 km across America for a month and didn't run into anyone. Tourist! Only for Americans! Wonder why!
It's definitely an experience! We enjoy them, but it is tough to get good sleep. Thanks and thanks for watching!
Hey Adventurers, i cant wait to see your train on the way to the Arctic Circle . Mmmm....Hohoho😊!
New to travel blogs but 😉 I was like deja vu, youtube algorithm sent me Adventures with Matt & Ana . Same dialog same excitement goofiness same music. I don't know why I didn't think this was out there for travel blogs but had a good laugh. Doppelgängers are among us . 🙈. Your channel made me plan a trip to Utah. 🤗
Thanks for watching!
Amtrak Bedrooms have in-suite bathrooms with showers. Although I’ve only been in a Roomette, using a shared bathroom.
That sounds nice!
I have taken sleeper trains a number of times in Helongiang, both hard and soft sleepers, and it is a great way to travel, though the Finnish train seems a bit nicer. Love your videos, thanks for sharing
Awesome! Thank you and thanks for watching!
I wish you guys safe journeys & good luck always in peace to heads Helsinki, Finland to tours many amazing places in Europe February of 2024❤❤❤
Congratulations to you guys lovely couple to heads Helsinki, Finland in February of 2024 to releases some amazing videos in Europe 2024❤❤❤Safe journeys to you guys in peace 2024❤❤❤
Thank you and thanks for watching!
NICE........
people up north, are know for cold showers to adjust to the cold outside!
Nonsense, we don't do that.
@@darkmage7280lol yeah cold water is the worst (except for ice swimming.) We love our warm homes!
Noise-cancelling headphone helps me lot during plane/train travel.
Yeah those would have been helpful!
I bet 3M earplugs would work great too, they are pretty good nowadays
I took night train in sleeper cars both in Europe and the US before, both were interesting experiences. Amtrak's actually pretty decent, I must say. I recommend you guys try it next time.
Maybe we'll give it a go one day!
Adam, how do you like that LLBean jacket?
Wondering how it did in sub-zero temps.
Great video!
It was great! When it was sub zero I had a wool base layer on underneath and sometimes a hoodie or other light jackets. I do wish it was parka length though, or at least longer than a regular jacket. Other than that it was great!
Earplugs are a must In a train
We get too scared we won't wake up for our alarm with them on 😅
It's -32 C right now where I'm at, so -26 I tropical I comparison 😅 Enjoy the cold, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger 😅
haha nice! That is true! 💪
Yeah the frozen inside of your nose is definitely an experience. I remember walking home from school while I had a runny nose and my nose actually had small frozen snot balls inside each nostril. Lol!
Haha it was a fun experience!
Looks like an interesting trip north!! What a cool shower room!!
We're excited to share more! Yes it was!
When traveling Wonder Woman or Superman Underoos are a must!
I'm more of a Batman guy myself 😀
Do you guys have any plans. Like Travel beans do, Travel and do videos with a little person.
You’re an arctic circle ! 😝
Loved that shower hidden behind the bathroom vanity! And it's amazing to see the bilingual Finnish-Swedish signs everywhere! Who would think that Finland is great place to learn Swedish😊
I guess it helps they are right next door to each other. The bathroom was so neat!
In Finland, we have 2 official languages. Finnish and Swedish.
if u book early u can get car+cabin on night train to lapland very cheap. those train foods are always ripoff in Finland
Very cool. How is it with the language difference? As far as reading the signs.
Definitely not a problem. Signs are often in Finnish, Swedish and English. In addition, Finns usually speak English quite well.
It wasn't too bad. Like the other comment says, there were usually signs in English as well and most people spoke English well
Immediately thought of IKEA when the meatballs showed up. Glad y'all thought so too! 😅
haha they were super solid!
Waiting for new videos from Finland
More coming over the next 4 Sundays 😀
Nothing beats meatballs and mashed potatoes on a train!
Heck yeah!
Yep, IKEA meal!😁
It was better than IKEA though!
Finland and Sweden both have their own meatball dishes.
Yeah I think the train cabin and the shower was too tiny for me. I think the meatballs were good cause yall were starving that late at night. Either way yall always make to enjoyable. Thanks for all the hard work you do to share with us.
We were very hungry, but they were actually pretty solid. Thanks and thanks for watching!
Did you continue Due north to North Cape in Norway? Does the train continue north? Can you rent a car at Santa's village for the remaining 688 km ?
We unfortunately didn’t have time or budget to go to Norway on this trip. But it’s at the top of the list for next time!
Not sure about the train and I’m sure you could rent a car there if you wanted
How does Kathryn's hair always stay perfect? I've been watching for years and there's never a hair out of place. In this video when Adam wakes up, he looks like it. Her hair is still the same as always. Just something I noticed all of a sudden.
haha thank you!
Nah this is our new night train... Nothing special. But our old night train.. THATS the thing! They still operate from Helsinki to Border town Tornio(FI)-Haaparanta(SE) and to Kolari. Old trains have unique 1970's style cabins. Soon they do not operate anymore.
It would be fun to experience that one as well! We enjoyed this one
You guys use two jackets? I mean -26°C is quite chilly but I would never use two jackets... Just thicker clothing and thicker jacket. It's not the multiple layers that keep you warm but the air between them. So wooly thick clothes under thick jacket is the way to go.
Hey we are noobs when it comes to cold weather 😂 but we had wool base layers on and the multiple jackets and felt just fine out in the cold 👍
I think most people are 😅 The cold you get in Finland and especially in Lapland is very different from most places.
I don't know if you've thought about it but sometimes less layers can be warmer. We talk about "kerrospukeutuminen" (layer dressing) in Finland and sometimes foreigners get that wrong and just pack themselves with clothes. But too much clothes can make the layers too dense and also squeeze your body hindering the bloodflow. Both of which make you colder.
Your clothes shouldn't bee too tight fit. Especially your jacket. As I said earlier it's the air between layers that keep you warm. Too tight clothes squeeze the air out and you're left with just a thick clump of clothes that gets cold and eventually cools you down.
Probably takes a bit of travelling time to heat the water.
Maybe so!
Can you please tell me about Kathryn's puffy jacket? I may want to get my GF one for her birthday. She gets cold even when it's like in the 70's and would enjoy a jacket that goes down beyond her waist and has a nice warm hood like that one.
Seems to be The North Face jacket. I can tell you from experience, that North Face jackets are really warm and quality is truly great. I've battletested few of em here in Finland 😁
Yes of course! That is the North Face Gotham (we think). We bought it at an outlet and we don't think they make it anymore unfortunately. I think it's a prior season model. But yeah Kathryn loves it and it kept her warm the entire trip!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Awesome, thanks! Found it on Amazon on sale 👍
Nothing like a good fresh, no stink pillow, BUT... was it "PILLOWY?" Hopefully not to the taste!
haha yes indeed it was pillowy! Can't comment on the taste of it though lol
how tall is Adam
6 foot
For that price there should at least be hot water.
Why most of the travellers are taking overnight train ?? Any issues with day trains ???
We chose overnight because it covered transportation and lodging in one. If you take a day train you'll then have to pay for accommodation when you get there. Plus, sleeping on a train is a fun experience in our opinion! But there is nothing wrong with the day train
I used to love them in the 50’s but, like you, could never really sleep on them.
They are fun, but yes it's tough to get much good sleep!
Nice to see you guys so excited about the train, but in all honesty VR isn't that great. Haven't been to the new all night cabins, but I know for sure the restaurant isn't anything to write home about. Stupidly expensive with so so food. But at least you get good beer.
We enjoyed it 😀
Great video..and, get used to cockroaches, coz, they are as usual as we are, good that you guys didn't find any this trip...
We were thankful we didn't find any this time!
I don't think I've ever seen one here in Finland. That doesn't mean they don't exist at all, though.
"I know Finns like cold water".
No we don't. Except those weirdos who go swimming in the sea in winter time but even they don't like cold water in their homes.
murricanos yes
