thanks for responding I play too im thinking of getting one, i dont play big venues anymore, and now adays everything is mic uped, yes you rright a buddy of mine gets alot of attention more now since he has been using one, definatley upgrades you showmanship and attention to the drums I was thinking of using a set for rockabilly music, lates
@RizhayaBellKa Thanks, man. This is a Yamaha 12x5" steel shell tuned a bit lower. The 8x5 sounds cool but it's not very versatile. With this one I can have the convenience of the 8x5, but with a much wider tuning range so I can tune it to sound relatively like a 14" if I was going to use this kit for an entire show.
Great job! Groovy set and I love that cymbal work around 2:20 on for a bit. Great sounding kick and really the whole set sounds great. Love the AAX crash/ride. I never owned an AAX, just AA but love the sound. Thanks
@PARREZ Nah, not really. I love them all. But there's a certain 'coolness' factor to these cocktail kits. And it forces your creativity because you just can't play these things like regular kits. But they're fun to play and people love to see 'em on stage. :)
the club jordan kit sounds fantastic, but the price range is just insane..but you do get the quality expected from yamaha !..that kick sounds beautiful ! solid playing , my friend, solid !
man ur like my new favorite drummer... im gonna learn so much from you bro 4real... what ur teaching i need it super bad!!! this was amazing... who is da track by i would love to practice to it!!!
Sir! Amazing playing! Your cocktail kit sounds great, I like your tuning more than some other videos I have seen. Also, that keyboard track you are playing to is right up my alley. Is that you playing?
Yo Man this is amazing I just found your channel literally a few seconds ago and I'm a new subbie how did you get your drum to light up like that I need to but me a set like that
Excellent Rob! Very fluent, tasteful and the drums sounds terrific as well. The snare drum (Yamaha 12x4 Steel - which line?? I can't seem to find one anywhere on the net) is a beast for sure. Great job man! If you get a moment I'd love to know your hi-hat and cymbal set up #respect
Thanks, man. I don't think that 12" is from any particular line of theirs. It was just a generic 12x4 steel shell w/ YESS mount that they used to sell. Yamaha has a habit of discontinuing their coolest stuff. You'll have to dig around the netsphere for a used one. Model #SD2240. For cymbals I was playing an 18" Sabian OMNI, 17" Legacy Prototype crash and some 12" Jojo Mayer Fierce Prototype hats. I've since let go of all my Sabian stuff after Paiste snatched me up.
Nice groove! Can you tell me how you equipped your Bassdrum? It has a nice short sustain and a fat kick. Most of the cocktail kits have a jungle-like long sustain.
Hello , Great Playing , I just bought a club jordan kit, the heads need to be replaced , what would you recommend for each drum top & bottom , thanks in advance .
I saw Chris Coleman, and Spanky. Mr. Coleman said he has no idea where they got that name, Gospel. Maybe because the Church let them practice there for free so I guess that's why. But, if you study time displacement, and odd time playing, like DAVE WECKL did 12 yrs. ago, you can play this style. Nice chops.
Unreal. The smoothness and time keeping is off the hook!
Rob Brown......you are truly one of the greatest drum set players iv ever heard. you sound like no other.
Never bring this vid down plz ! From all of us God bless you rob
I love this take on the track. Tasty groove, great chops, great feel, incredible sense of discipline.
This has to be my favorite groove to date. I have seen lots of other videos, but none of them are as musical as this one. Good stuff Rob Brown.
Amazing! Great drummer! Hug from Brasil! 🥁🤘🙌👏👏👏
Bro you play with so much humility!! Love your work! God Bless!
Brilliant! Really nice playing
This is so good.
Great job Rob! Very tasteful use of the fills and the syncoption. Great chops!
man! this is too nice, your hand motion is just perfect on those licks
Yep. Love it. The 22" is on the kit in the background.
Very tasteful doc! Great dynamics, feel and ear for the track.
that cocktail kid sounds amazing!!! sweet solo :-)
That's the coolest thing I've ever seen on a cocktail kit! Love the sound of that kit. I'm going to build my own after seeing that. Great work! :)
Any advice on how to build it yourself? :)
okay thanks!

Hello ,
Great Playing , I just bought a club jordan kit, the heads need to be replaced , what would you recommend for each drum top & bottom , thanks in advance .
Try Evans. They’re are very good. You don’t get a lot of reverb.
That was amazing Mr.Brown !!! Did that kit have a kick drum ?
No the floor tom has a pedal under it..look at his right leg/foot
Great!
so sick
It almost looks like you're standing up, haha.
nice playing!
what snare did you used on this video? It's not 8x5" club jordan snare, isn't it?
ha ha that was hot nice bru
Ha everybody's covering this track now.
What type of snaredrum did you use on this one, it seems to me that it is not the original 8 inch. Playing is awesome.
It's a Yamaha 12x4 steel shell BEAST :)
a pickalow
fiiiiiiiya!!!!!!!
Hi, Rob. Can you tell me how you tuned your snare? What tension has top head in relation to bottom?
Thank you.
I noticed you’re not playing traditional grip?🤷♂️ is that because you’re standing up?
BRUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Tasty very tasty.
