Replacable batteries are great, because you can just get rechargable. Bonus points if your mouse has a USB port to charge those batteries, or bypass non-rechargeable batteries with a switch for DC only use
That would be unsafe. The best solution I've seen is when there is a replacible USB-rechargeable battery in a compartment that would also fit a DC battery - but the two battery types have different shapes and different contacts so you couldn't physically mix them up.
@@metallurgico In what possible way... I bet this guy had put a battery there once that had no pretection circuit but required one and it blew right in his face... Wouldn't be unexpected seeing what things people do...
At the beginning you said the keyboard is 'a unique piece' geared for a specific type of audience. I am failing to see what is so unique about this piece. It just looks like a wireless fullsize board, I really don't see this being used in an office environment, sure it doesn't have clicky switches but that it still too loud for office use especially that horrendous space bar. I agree with your conclusion that the keyboard is too overpriced for what it offers and I personally don't think this was a good attempt into getting into the productivity/office work keyboard space as the competition vs just other prebuilts gives you no reason to consider the Razer board
it is for me. it has downsides but I'll buy it because my logitech g613 wireless mechanical keyboard has key chattering problem and almost everyone who have that keyboard is facing that same problem.
Tbh, if loudness is a concern, most mechanical keyboards are just not well suited for those types of offices in general compared to a nice membrane keyboard, unless a manufacturer really just lubes, foams, and o-rings the fuck out of everything lol
Wait, how does razer actually expect to compete with logitech? Every piece of logitech hardware that I have ever purchased still works, every piece of razer hardware i have ever purchased has broken. Hell i still use my force feedback logitech joystick thats just over 20 years old now... Meanwhile my razer mamba thats 3 months old is broken due to manufacturing defects.
Yep. Logitech makes some shitty mice but you can buy the pads when they wear out. Honestly i don’t think this keyboard has an audience other than i want a white keyboard with no cord.
I guess everyone has different experiences but my razer blackwidow v2 yellows and mamba elite has been good for 5 years. Recently just purchased a basilisk ult because of wireless, and never had any issues. Also got a mx master 3 but the switches on that thing was insanely loud, so I returned.
those "Mushtile" mouse switches don't sound very satisfying. the keyboard is way too loud to go into the office with, and personally I'd rather have a tactile option at the very least for typing. razer's got some iterating to do
For the "Razer" price, I can get 1 Akko 3098B which has numpad with smaller footprint, 5pin hotswap, 3 modes wire/wireless (2.4/BT/wired), good PBT caps, pre lubed stabs, foam mod, silicone backplate mod and RGB + some lube for Akko CS switch. So no no for me.
Just an fyi and I learned this the hard way today when my Pro Type Ultra arrived. The 2.4GHz dongle that comes with this new keyboard is NOT compatible with the Razer Pro Click. The 2.4GHz dongle apparently is only compatible with the newly released Pro Click Mini. This really sucks.
For a basic travel lightweight mouse that’s super quiet, check out the Logitech M330 silent. The sound profile sounds much better IMO but am curious to try the razer personally. I’ve using my M330 for a couple years and am happy with it. I was using wireless gaming mice previously but this is way better for business.
I never tried the yellow switches until I was getting fatigue from typing on my green for so many years, as well as people on the phones commenting on my keyboard and my colleagues too. I also found I had to press just too hard and pretty much bottom out without wanting to, just because I had to get past the bump. So I grabbed the yellows to see how it would be with work/typing daily and they are actually really nice, The redv2s are also amazing, but the yellow is a bit better for typing over the redv2 just because of the slightly longer distance time and I just like the slight sound of the yellow that it still holds true to mechanical keyboards. Greens in the moment feel the best but when you have to be typing all day, the yellows are better. I know the redv2s are considered "even better" but again it's all preference. I still love my greens the most and they will always be my main board for gaming and for my home pc. But with work, taking calls, etc. I had to switch to something a bit more silent and when I saw that their new typing keyboard went yellow switches, I had to try them and I was pleasantly surprised. When I first got it, I wanted to keep my green for work too but after I forced myself for a couple days to try the yellows, I prefer them now for work for sure. Especially the sound.
So, this is a little off topic, but for anyone looking at mice, I can comment on the bigger Pro Click. I bought it and used it for a little while. Overall impression is that it’s a good mouse that’s not for me. I bought primarily because it was white and had low latency. Both of these are true, it looks and performs well, even though it’s a “productivity” mouse, gaming felt good. In the end, though, I returned it. I simply cannot stand rubber grips on mice. It felt like it would be perfectly fine for anyone who doesn’t mind or likes rubber, but there’s something about it that drives me nuts. Pretty much everything else was great. Synapse seems like bloated garbage, but it stores settings on mouse so you can just set it up and uninstall it. Mostly, anyway. See, I wanted the mouse wheel tilt function to do horizontal scrolling, and while it can do that, it ONLY works while synapse running is running in the background. This is ridiculous, it could totally be saved on mouse too, but they just decided that no, you can’t do that. And the mouse wheel itself would be another gripe with it. It was metal. The ONE PLACE on the whole mouse I would want rubber and it’s metal instead. It worked, but it always felt like my finger was slipping over it. Final thing I didn’t like was the shape. The right side of the mouse is totally convex. Even with the rubber grips, it just felt off. Like I couldn’t hold it well. (Even though I never actually had a problem while playing, it just kinda felt like I did). Most of my gripes are totally preference, so if these things don’t bother you, it’s a great mouse. If the Mini here is following its steps, I’m confident it would be good too. After returning that, I swapped it for a GPW superlight instead. And I’ll probably just keep that one for now. Honestly, it’s way too expensive. There’s no way this thing is worth $50 more than the Pro Click. Yeah, it lighter, but the Razer was light enough. And Logitech’s software is so stupid. I struggled looking everywhere just for a way to save the DPI settings I set to the mouse’s onboard storage and accidentally figured it out eventually. It’s terribly unintuitive. Not only that, there’s no button to switch DPI without software unless you sacrifice on of the back/forward buttons for a macro layer. The shape fits me personally better, although it’s a bit small for my hands, and I do wish it had maybe just a bit of tilt to it. It’s sorely lacking on features, but it’s not a mouse for features. The mouse wheel feels much better, I am much more confident I’m actually scrolling between weapon slots and such. The shape of the right hand side of the mouse feels much better too. And no rubber surfaces! However, I think the normal GPW would be a better purchase actually. It’s got more button options, is still plenty light and is cheaper. I just picked this up because it was white, not full of holes, and was well reviewed. And i was sick of looking. But most people should not spend $150 on the superlight, it’s really not worth that.
After buying a white keyboard and white mouse and using them for a couple of months. I can safely say, it doesn't matter how cool it looks in my setup, something you touch everyday shouldn't be white :D
I think replaceable batteries are quite useful, quite a lot of my rechargable devices have died and cannot be fixed (Mamba, voice recorder, ipad pencil) Also, really wonder if it's possible to use a meter to measure battery life accurately by measuring amps/watts consumed after 1 hour gaming session. Definitely possible with replaceable batteries.
Kinda hard to do the measuring because different battery chemistries react differently when it comes to voltage, and most AA/AAA devices use that drop in voltage to give a rough indication of remaining capacity.
The mouse might be exactly what I’ve been looking for. I had a Gen 1 MX Anywhere mouse, and I absolutely loved it. I actually used it to the point of mechanical failure. I ended up getting the Gen 2 and am hating it. It’s so light, it feels like a toy. The switch to an integrated battery seemed like a good idea, but on a small form factor mouse, it compromises on hand feel and heft. I might be the odd one out, but I prefer a mouse with some weight to it.
Hey, I recently came across the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule and it seems like a game-changer for keeping your desk clean. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, which is perfect for maintaining a spotless environment. Plus, it's compact and versatile with multiple accessories. Definitely worth considering as an addition to your setup!

The wrist rest is not magnetically attached? Also, can it be ordered and replaced separately when it starts to fall apart? That has been the big problem with Razer custom fit wrist rests. There’s no way to order a replacement, and they do that on purpose.
Coming from the keyboard enthusiast corner, I have to admit that the case and key caps look sleek, but dear mother of Betelgeuse, that's the clankiest sounding board ever :D Sounds like hitting a screwdriver against a 16 feet aluminium extension ladder

I bought Logitech MX Keys a year back, for cleaning key board/keys it is really difficult and broke couple of keys while doing so, ended up throwing it in dust bin. I really liked this mechanical key board, hope it is much easier to remove the keys and clean it using brush etc..
They call the line “Pro,” but I think it’s less for actual “pros” and really just for “people who want a mechanical keyboard and quick, quality mouse without everything being capital G Gaming Keyboard for Gamers to Gamer on in their RGB unicorn vomit room.”
@joeyl.3007 either that or it's to have access to a mechanical keyboard in the office without triggering work bosses. Hi, my g700s just died, so I am on a quest of finding a new mouse. This time I am looking for a clean design in white - similar to Razor Pro Click. I am a CAD software user, and I am jumping (a lot) between different apps so having multiple profiles (that can be stored in the internal memory) and programmable buttons is essential for me. I also love speed scroll feature - is there anything similar in the market?
@@HardwareCanucks I know, but I hate linear switches...:( I was really looking forward to the Pro Type keyboard, but with a wrist rest, and now it's released, but with linear switches...
we assume that I have a MacBook Pro so it would not be supported, but pretending that I do not need customization, between this Razer and the Mx Keyboard which would you choose? or the Keychron? mechanical is much greater than the Mx keyboard?
The shape is similar to Atheris, but it has an upgraded sensor, silent switches, free-scroll, tilt clicks and multi-host bluetooth features that the Atheris lacks.
i personally absolutly love silent switches, i cant stand the normal clicks... i would love to see more premium mice with silent switches, cuz right now there are only these cheap mice on amazon with break after 1 year of use (i already ran through 3...). Perfekt mouse for me would support multi device wiht dongle and bluetooth and has silent switches. Also it should be black cuz or dakr grey.
As someone who has a Logitech Anywhere 2s and 3, I do admire the side scroll (which Logitech removed on the Anywhere 3), but only having 2 device switching is a bit of a bummer
Leftie here. Love the keyboard. Perfect for work. I returned the mouse as although it says it’s ambidextrous there are programmable mouse buttons on the left side which for a leftie means it is against the palm. There is no buttons on the right side so not true ambidextrous. I purchased the Logitech mouse instead as it is true left handed.
bruh, I was just looking for a pro type ultra review, and this posted 54 minutes ago? i love you guys. Thank you. Has anyone tried the yellow switches from razer coming from brown switches? Does it feel better? Is the absence of a noticeable bump from the yellows going to feel weird? Really tempted to get the keyboard but not sure if I would like it, not able to try it anywhere :(
I've seen a comment here saying that Razer Pro Click Mini supports high polling rates. Can you confirm that? I'm looking for a small and silent mouse that works well with 144Hz screen and if this one does well with such displays, than it would be great. I've searched for such mouse few months ago and I gave up as it seemed that such mouse just didn't exist (unless you've modded one yourself).
Great review guys! One missing comparison point (excuse me if I missed it) is the fact that the razer sensor has variable polling rate which can be set between 125, 500 & 1000 Hz, while the mx master series comes with a fixed 125 Hz polling rate! This makes a big difference especially with high refresh rate displays that are becoming more and more common!
Over Bluetooth, the polling rate can drop lower than 125 Hz anyway. The dongle is a "Razer Pro Click" dongle, not a "Razer Hyperspeed" dongle, and with Razer's marketing being the way it is, you can't really trust that the mouse would support 1000 Hz polling rate over a wireless connection until someone actually tests it. It could apply to wired connections only, in only special circumstances. It could be the USB protocol polling rate, but the mouse could actually be slower because of how the firmware works.
Don't judge, but I'm more of a Corsair fanboy, and never actually had a mouse/keyboard from them that had a fixed polling rate. But that might just be my luck.
Thanks for bringing up the Mac incompatibility issue. Ironic that Razer doesn't support macOS with their 'pro' accessories because *a lot* of pro users that are doing video/music production use Macs. The Mac accessory ecosystem apart from just dongles and kickstands for MBs needs to get more vivid, because the Mac userbase isn't gonna get smaller with the release of the M-series chips from Apple.
If the Pro Click Mini had a weightier scrollwheel to improve its free scrolling mode, I think it'd have been a very competitive contender against the MX Anywhere, especially since Logitech removed scroll tilting on the anywhere3 for whatever reason. It's got a slight hump compared to the very flat mx anywhere, for people that prefer fingertip grip with a bit of support, and removeable batteries that you can instantly replace with full rechargeable ones which is nice. Imo pretty good first attempt into the productivity/office mouse space, getting rid of the snake logo was definitely the right move. Shame it's just as pricey as the MX stuff.
Hey there! I've been using the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for a while now, and I must say it's been a game-changer for keeping my desk and peripherals clean. The vacuum power is impressive, and the ability to blow away dust and debris is a nice touch. Plus, the compact size and versatile accessories make it great for road trips and outdoor activities. Definitely worth considering for maintaining a spotless environment!
this mouse would be the real workhorse more than mx master 3 if only it switches body with its brother razer pro click(and maybe black color option). it has everything the pro click doesn't have= free scroll mode, 5 onboard memory profile, and aa/aaa battery. combining it with humanscale designed body would be very much perfect. with hypershift this mouse has double the amount of buttons mx masters have. i don't understand why they make 2 incomplete mouse just to match logitech, well at least this is a better option than mx anywhere for portable mouse
I don't think a $160 is worth the price for a board that doesn't really have anything unique that would set it apart from other keyboards. Sure, it looks sleek, has an anodized aluminum top, and an exclusively wireless connection, but the overall design of the board would really limit you from fine tuning it to your liking. From a modding perspective, a hotswap board, exposed screws, and PBT keycaps would help attract more people, especially those who already knows their way around the board so they can mod however they want. An expensive board with a lot of anti-features is practically a scam
Decent keyboard but I've been in RMA hell with them for 2 months now on this when my keyboard just died out of the blue and no longer worked in wired mode.
Mike doesn't like built in rechargeable batteries because you have to bring a charger. But uses rechargeable double As which need their own proprietary charger instead of USB C which you probably already have with you for charging your phone. That doesnt even make any sense.
i like the battery life of the keyboard and I like the battery life of the mouse. personally I wouldn't use either of them. keyboard is too loud and I assume it's not hotswap so you're stuck with loud keys. and mice.... all i want is lighter than 100G AND hyperscroll/free scroll option. i can't find that anywhere. so annoying.
Razer should pay more attention to security. To me Razer is not for work, but only for games. Logitech MX series mouse goes for $60 in EU so maybe its not cheap but very good choice for any ppl working day by day on PC. I was Razer fan since 2005 and I must admit that I'm very dissapointed of Razer quality but If they create any GOOD and SECURE wireless mouse/keyboard they have my money.
The keyboard itself is great. But Razer really pissed me off by not allowing people to pair more Razer devices with these dongles. I've spent over 400 bucks trying to figure out what pairs with what because of the lack of documentation from Razer. I got the keyboard in the video and clicked "pair mouse" just to see what would happen. It said it found nothing and there's a link that says "see compatible devices" and the Orochi V2 was on the list. So I buy that... try to pair it, and it doesn't work. It was only after taking a GUESS that the "pro" only pairs with "pro" and "hyperspeed" only pairs with "hyperspeed" EXCEPT the first version of the Pro Click does NOT pair with the pro dongle from the keyboard. Seriously... WHO at Razer is making these decisions??????????? I sold all my Razer products off... I should have remembered why I avoided them in the past. Their build quality was horrible. I was hoping that changed (which it did) but now it's a whole new set of problems... I swear some of these companies are completely tone def and don't test any of their products in real world scenarios that they market the products for at all...

I also love speed scroll feature - is there anything similar in the market?
Why did they change the Orange switches to yellow ones....😖
Quieter. :)
Which of these two (Razer pro vs MX keys) are easier for sore and painful fingers for long typing?
Isn't that just a rebranded Atheris mouse that they're now selling for a lot more?
The shape is similar to Atheris, but it has an upgraded sensor, silent switches, free-scroll, tilt clicks and multi-host bluetooth features that the Atheris lacks.
Is there a pro type and a pro type ultra? I can only find the former.
What are the differences of the pro type vs the ultra?
i personally absolutly love silent switches, i cant stand the normal clicks... i would love to see more premium mice with silent switches, cuz right now there are only these cheap mice on amazon with break after 1 year of use (i already ran through 3...). Perfekt mouse for me would support multi device wiht dongle and bluetooth and has silent switches. Also it should be black cuz or dakr grey.
Is Razer Pro Click Mini compatible with Razer Synapse? I need the option to choose my DPI.
As someone who has a Logitech Anywhere 2s and 3, I do admire the side scroll (which Logitech removed on the Anywhere 3), but only having 2 device switching is a bit of a bummer
Yea, I would love to know why tf Logitech thought it was a good idea to remove scroll tilt. Would have gotten the anywhere3 if it had it
It has 4 device host switching actually. 2.4GHz and three bluetooth hosts.
Thank you for this review and for sound test, I was considering buying Type Ultra keyboard but Huntsman Mini sounds more quieter than Type Ultra.
Does razer has driver/software for m1 Macs?
If not, it's not a worthy for productivity. There are many people in productivity sector use macs.
Is this good for gaming ???
Can you talk about that light bar behind the monitor?
Is the mouse compatible with Mac?
I'm utilizing the normal Pro Click mouse, it's great! I was saving to get the older Pro Type keyboard, but I'll get this new version instead!
it actually kinda sounds good stock for a razer keyboard, but still you can get a keyboard way cheaper with hot swappable and bluetooth, all that jazz
Great review and I have been using the Pro mouse for about a month. What laptop are you using that is in the background?
Looked to me like a new MacBook pro.
bruh, I was just looking for a pro type ultra review, and this posted 54 minutes ago? i love you guys. Thank you. Has anyone tried the yellow switches from razer coming from brown switches? Does it feel better? Is the absence of a noticeable bump from the yellows going to feel weird? Really tempted to get the keyboard but not sure if I would like it, not able to try it anywhere :(
Save your money, don't buy razer keyboards
@@v0ldy54 why? 😰
@@stereoDoza overpriced with bad build quality and obnoxious software (400Mb to change keyboard color lmao).
@@v0ldy54 but i want her ((
@@v0ldy54 ok, i will try keychron k5
Damn, I wish the new Hunstman would be available in white asw.
It has 1000Hz polling rate when used with 2.4GHz dongle.
@@shapelessed you must be edgy and cool.
@@FindecanorNotGmail I can confirm it has an option for 1000Hz polling rate when used with dongle.
Why is Eber mostly appears on HC videos?
no volume wheel ... :( ... and too loud for working
Yo how do the pc37x compare to the headsets you reviewed a month ago?
Does the keyboard Bluetooth device switching feature switch the mouse too?
Looks like a G512 Carbon. Some might call it a ... carbon copy
Lmao
this is not an mx (keys+master) alternative.
Pro Click Mini side buttons aren't silent, what a missed opportunity.
Oops is there a Mac version? I see Alt where Cmd should be.
Looks nice but the ping on the keyboard is horrendous!
Does the mouse use optical switch?
once you have dedicated audio buttons on a keyboard, you can't go back. Hopefully they add that in the future.
Can the keyboard and mouse share the dongle or do you need to use two of them? (for the 2.4Ghz wireless option)
Ah, the answer came later in the video... thanks
Im struggling to get ultra type pro to pair with my pro click via usb 2.4ghz. Sigh.
anyone know that laptop stand he's using in the background.
if you guys would do a desk setup review, that would be awesome.
Would people really be using linear switches for productivity?
There _are_ people who prefer linear. Different (key-)strokes for different folks ...
If that's with sound dampening, I'd hate to hear it without it.
What layouts will this come in?
this mouse would be the real workhorse more than mx master 3 if only it switches body with its brother razer pro click(and maybe black color option). it has everything the pro click doesn't have= free scroll mode, 5 onboard memory profile, and aa/aaa battery. combining it with humanscale designed body would be very much perfect. with hypershift this mouse has double the amount of buttons mx masters have. i don't understand why they make 2 incomplete mouse just to match logitech, well at least this is a better option than mx anywhere for portable mouse
What chair is that?
Decent keyboard but I've been in RMA hell with them for 2 months now on this when my keyboard just died out of the blue and no longer worked in wired mode.
I like the sound of the red switches a lot more
I would be very interested in that keyboard if it had macOS support.
Mike doesn't like built in rechargeable batteries because you have to bring a charger. But uses rechargeable double As which need their own proprietary charger instead of USB C which you probably already have with you for charging your phone. That doesnt even make any sense.
Maybe you need to change glasses because all the keys look off-centered to the right
is that a 14” macbook pro back there?
i like the battery life of the keyboard and I like the battery life of the mouse. personally I wouldn't use either of them. keyboard is too loud and I assume it's not hotswap so you're stuck with loud keys. and mice.... all i want is lighter than 100G AND hyperscroll/free scroll option. i can't find that anywhere. so annoying.
Nice look but it won't beat my logitech mx anywhere anytime. Price wise, there are on sales from time to time, so I got it for cheaper
Logitech MX 3 mouse is 2 years old now. I think its worth waiting for MX 4 mouse.
What case is in the thumbnail video.
Guess what my original mix has two triple a batteries. I am never upgrading.
Considered as replacement for my expiring Logitech Mac DiNovo keyboard. It needs a battery change every 2 years.
No mention of the fact that the pro click mini is practically a renamed Razer Atheris lol, i failed to find a single difference
i'm not a fan of the silver back plate on the keyboard.
