I feel like 1993 was Nirvana's peak in terms of live show quality. They grew so much from their underground days, and this really feels big budget. Kurt switching from acoustic to electric for many songs, pat adding a much bigger sound, while Dave and Krist are killing it with barely any mistakes, and the extremely fine edition of a cello player! Honestly I feel like Lori is almost like an underrated 5th member

People don't realise that because Live and Loud was being filmed for tv it had to be way brighter than a regular concert. It would have basically been a concert with the house lights up - ugly and hot.

If I found this upload while I was still in highschool I would have lost my shit! I’ve watched countless Nirvana concerts, and still do time to time, this band got me into music. 900+ albums later I still come back to Nirvana, always will.
Yeah, Id have to say this is their best overall show during the In Utero tour. Kurt was really into it this night, the band played tight and with maximum intensity. I saw them at Roseland in the their pre In Utero tour, experimental phase mid 1993 (July 23). Kurt had OD'd earlier on that night, they played just a bit sloppy, lol but those sloppy shows I adore like nothing else. Kurt definitely looked fucked up , there was no hiding it thats for sure, regardless that was one of the best nights of my life. Here I am now, 42 still enjoying Nirvana just like I did 27 years ago.

At that concert a lot of things happened, Kurt changed his guitar because his string broke in In Bloom, they stopped a sexual abuse and they celebrated the new year in the middle of the concert.
I can't stop listening to it not only because it's one of my favorite tracks but the audio in general and the kick sound so badass in this performance.
I saw NIRVANA 4 Days later "IN UTERO Tour" - (Jan.4.1994) in Vancouver @ The Forum. Thank God cuz he was dead three months later. One of the best concerts ever!!!

Holy.shit best teen spirit i think ive ever seen. Kurt was actually really into it which was rare but when he felt it you start to realize why it was such a powerful song that changed rock n roll in the 90s. Also i really dug that cool note he threw in during the solo

When I hear Drain you, I know this is pure genius. Come as you are, too. I just pause for a moment and think, is this real? It is! Dave said Kurt’s songs were like nursery rhymes because they were so childlike and catchy. The crowd would sing along to every song. So they would have a stadium full of people singing every word. This is what you dream about as a songwriter. That people can relate to your song that well. Kurt was unique with his voice too. Nobody else sounds like he did. And his songs were unique, too. He wrote great rockers and ballads. There will never be another Kurt Cobain. Or Prince. These people are unique. Not in our lifetime. Thanks for the upgrade!
I think the gropee found a personal hero in Kurt that night! How sweet and cool of him to take a stand for her! It must have been a nasty one for him to catch it mid song, on stage. This is what, personally, i love about him. Nothing is ever too big, or distracting that it prevents him from being himself! One in a trillion. Never in this lifetime to be seen again.

Yes when they left to go overseas, everything got FUBAR - Kurt got sick, moods soured, relationships fractured, distance from home, stage, sound, tech all fkd up..., egos bruised & battered, family paid dearly, sobriety suffered, phone was only lifeline which sucked royally... went home, and tailspin into oblivion and nothing was ever the same.

And look at the mood Kurt's in in this show compared to the European tour it's night and day he barely speaks to the audience outside of three shows Toulon on February 12th, Rennes of February 16th, and Modena on February 21st are the only shows where Kurt's happy and interested in. All the other shows it seems like he just wants to get through the songs and go to sleep. The majority of the songs the played on the American tour weren't even played in Europe milk it wasn't played, Jesus don't want me for the sunbeam was only played 6 times during the tour. The man who sold the world was played but in the last two concerts it pretty much was played because they skipped teen spirit. It was also was only played in one Italy show in Modena because all the other three shows had only four songs in the encore. It's honestly sad to think that this could have been prevented if they just took a break or hauled the Europe tour so that Kurt could get help for his heroin addiction and for the mental issues he had been struggling with over the last few years. On top of that you see the in utero angels on the stage yeah. The in utero set up that you see well if you go to any video taped Europe show which there are 5 Europe shows that were videotaped the Toulon show and all 4 Italy shows you will notice the set up isn't even present on any of those shows nor any of the audio only shows

Holy.shit best teen spirit i think ive ever seen. Kurt was actually really into it which was rare but when he felt it you start to realize why it was such a powerful song that changed rock n roll in the 90s. Also i really dug that cool note he threw in during the solo

Dave said Kurt’s songs were like nursery rhymes because they were so childlike and catchy. The crowd would sing along to every song. So they would have a stadium full of people singing every word. This is what you dream about as a songwriter. That people can relate to your song that well.
Kurt was unique with his voice too. Nobody else sounds like he did. And his songs were unique, too. He wrote great rockers and ballads. There will never be another Kurt Cobain. Or Prince. These people are unique.

definitely, but it’s pretty crazy that live and loud is even as long as it is cause nirvana were originally intended to play a much shorter set. due to eddie vedder being sick pearl jan had to drop out of co-headlining and nirvana was asked to fill in for them and play longer

Yes when they left to go overseas, everything got FUBAR - Kurt got sick, moods soured, relationships fractured, distance from home, stage, sound, tech all fkd up..., egos bruised & battered, family paid dearly, sobriety suffered, phone was only lifeline which sucked royally... went home, and tailspin into oblivion and nothing was ever the same.
@@rbaygirl not to mention Courtney cheating on him. Wanting to cancel the European tour, the Rome incident. And look at the mood Kurt's in in this show compared to the European tour it's night and day he barely speaks to the audience outside of three shows Toulon on February 12th, Rennes of February 16th, and Modena on February 21st are the only shows where Kurt's happy and interested in. All the other shows it seems like he just wants to get through the songs and go to sleep. The majority of the songs the played on the American tour weren't even played in Europe milk it wasn't played, Jesus don't want me for the sunbeam was only played 6 times during the tour. The man who sold the world was played but in the last two concerts it pretty much was played because they skipped teen spirit. It was also was only played in one Italy show in Modena because all the other three shows had only four songs in the encore. It's honestly sad to think that this could have been prevented if they just took a break or hauled the Europe tour so that Kurt could get help for his heroin addiction and for the mental issues he had been struggling with over the last few years. On top of that you see the in utero angels on the stage yeah. The in utero set up that you see well if you go to any video taped Europe show which there are 5 Europe shows that were videotaped the Toulon show and all 4 Italy shows you will notice the set up isn't even present on any of those shows nor any of the audio only shows
