* = Melora Creager on cello - (not to be confused w/ Lori Goldston who played cello at the US shows)
Select the 720p50 option via the gear icon on the bottom of the player for smoother playback. 480p is the same quality but w/ normal frame rate.

Kurt Cobain died on 4/5/94 - less than two months after this show. I'm always looking for uncirculated Nirvana Video/Audio. If you taped Nirvana back in the day or happen to have any uncirculated Nirvana media comment.
Nirvana's skill in 94 is so improved compared to 93,92,90's. They would have made so many good song, sadly well never get to hear them
Nirvana hadn't even peaked. I wish Kurt didn't go the way he did. American music would be very different today. When Nirvana ended, it opened the door for some terrible genres and bands.
Yeah, I've been a Nirvana fan since I was an 8th grader in 2002 and I saw a lot of their live stuff before but now on youtube I'm seeing a bunch of shows from 1994 and it's amazing how much they improved. Their Nevermind tour shows were all out of tune, sloppily played, drunk/high, crazy audiences, messy shows. This 1994 tour they are absolute professionals, they sound perfect almost the same as the record. I never knew they could play this clean live and I'm addicted to it.
Most of in utero and nevermind was written in 1989 1990. They really were not at all prolific with new material after nevermind was released. Maybe Dave would have started writing too but even if he had not died I doubt nirvana would have lasted. He had really had enough at that point. He would probably have been like jd Salinger, living on a farm and telling everyone to fuck off who tried to meet him.
I guess we will never know but the revisionist history regarding nirvana is extreme
Actually Three songs off In Utero were less then a year old, Scentless Apprentice, Heart Shaped box, and Serve The servants. Two of which had Dave Grohl listed as a songwriter. I think Nirvana would of be just fine, with new songs. Listen to You know you’re right, Talk To Me, and Do Ri Me, Kurt was starting to write new music that was still amazing
Dude, nirvana were DONE. Kurt had fuckin had enough. I know anton brooks who was their press guy in the uk from bleach til the end. He said they were done. All three of them had lost the passion for nirvana. It’s just not fun being grown men being manipulated and lied to by your management and the record company. Nirvana were a cash cow and kurt had OD’d half a dozen times, they could see he was probably going to end up dead so they started controlling who was around him, putting handler’s with him all the time which made him even more miserable. It was a ridiculous shit show and there is almost zero chance they would have made a new album. Also, know your right is a fucking b side at best. It is not a great track, it’s just ok just like the other songs you mentioned.
I saw them a few months before this show. it was November 7th 1993, in Virginia. I was only 15 but I'm so glad I was able to see them live. They are on same level as Beatles, in my opinion.
scott wood I prefer nirvana over the Beatles if I'm being honest but hey that's me lol
You saw them at the William and Mary Hall? That's a fucking cool show! They even played an unknown song that night AND Kurt went berserk during the first verse of Lithium
Same tour at 17 ct 30, 1993 at Hara arena.
i born in 1991 and beatles for me is abs. nothing. and nirvana in my top-3 bands
scott wood - Beatles = Greatest UK Band, Nirvana = Greatest American Band
I love how the audience sings every song whether they understand what they’re singing or not.
Ce n'est pas parce que tu es une bille en français, que les français sont des billes en anglais. ;) Whatever....
Awesome group
That’s you how you know that good music transcends all language barriers. Penetrates at the subconscious level.
kurt's voice sounds amazing at this show
it was i was there and the show was amazing and omega zenith sounds very good !!such an energic show
Totally agree! One of the better vocal performances I've heard from him, especially relative to other later shows (late 93/94).
@@TheJeffGrant I know. Yet this is only mere weeks before he took his own life. It makes no sense. Yet here he is full of life and verve. So sad. What a waste.
@@TheJeffGrant he sounded badass in Milan shows too
Holy mother... Kurt's playing a Jag-Stang.. Amazing quality considering this was recorded with a VHS camera by Krist's mother..
Sniper .308 that’s terrible
Sniper .308 That’s terrible! I’d cry like a bitch if i ever lost my KC Fender Jaguar
Kurt's not playing a Jagstang, its just a lefty mustang fender made for him in like 93"
@@waltloggins8578 18:23, then explain this.
Kurt honestly hated the jag-stang he played onstage from what I know, I could be wrong though. I think he wanted more adjustments done to it. I'm glad he was endorsed by Fender, they did an amazing job making the Sonic Blue Mustang for him. I think the red one was the same one he had used from the Roseland Ballroom show in New York City, NY July 1993, but was modded to have the identical look and sound of what he wanted the Sonic Blue mustang that fender made to look and sound like. So sad they quit making them and selling them, and it was just a limited time thing. I really wanted one brand new, in both the fiesta red and sonic blue color, as well as the roadworn fender jaguar they had sold for a limited time before just selling the NOS version only. Though I love that one as well, though the specks on the sonic blue mustang, specifically the black humbuckers is not what he used, he had the off-white humbuckers for it, and on the jaguar, the humbuckers are too close together compared to what he had used, where the neck pick-up was closer to the neck, and the bridge pick-up was closer to the bridge. Though overall, Fender did a really amazing job, after all, Fender is known for making artist series signature guitars look almost identical to the real deal. Now if they started selling both the Mustang and Jag-Stang again, I'd be really happy to have the opportunity to have all 3 someday. Or even just one, specifically the Fender Jaguar. I wanted that guitar since I first discovered Nirvana when I was 8 years old, back in 2006. Crazy how I'm now going on 22, still a huge Nirvana fan, and musician inspired by Kurt and Layne Staley, as well as Jerry Cantrell very heavily.
One of the best concerts ever in 1994 in my opinion,
26:31
Seriously, the cello sounded so good in Dumb ❤️
what a pleasure to see this concert...again! I was here, 23 years ago, scarred for life!
Lekker maat, helaas was ik nog niet geboren anders was ik er met je
Kurt before playing polly: "Hey could you do us a favor? Um, please don't clap when we play this song, because we're really bad musicians and it fucks up our timing"
Audience: Claps to polly.
Kurt: Shakes head.

Quel bonheur de retrouver ce concert 30 ans plus tard, j’y étais, j’avais 17 ans, Nirvana dans le Var, on hallucinait ! Un concert magistral, un des derniers, quel son énorme qui n’a pas vieilli…

Kurt starts head banging and smiling at the beginning of Scentless Apprentice 1:20:20
The best of kurt
Keep doing what your doing mate.....awesome. :)
Novoselic always very very polite: "Merci!"
Yeh its a shame he hasnt gone on musically. Hes a hell of a bass player and could have hand picked his own band. What a great guy ...he was raised very well. So now he dabbles in politics. A very thankless job. He would at least gather some rewards had he stuck with music.
Yes i know the loss of Kurt was devastating to him, but to keep the music going is really the best way to honor Kurt IMO,, not the politics he hated so much.
Well maybe it was just time for Krist to do just for Krist, but i sure miss him not being out there playing his heart out.
I guess the bottom line is there will never be another Kurt, Life goes on and we all stumble about. God bless you Krist.
@@joleneloveland2942 I believe Krist has got a new band since 2017. It is called Giants in the trees. It's rather interesting. Check it.
Merci beaucoup
This month is the month of Kurt's birthday. (20/2/1967). He will turned to 54 years this year. Rip Kurt. We miss and love you.
Great to see Kurt in action. This was a few weeks before his death. We'll miss you man, forever!

and dedicating jesus wants me for a sunbeam to river phoenix was so nice of kurt. sad song but good.
Thanks for this Video. I had dismissed this recording in the past due to the quality. This version is very enjoyable and a great watch.
That scream during drain you is fuckin awesome
This show turns 25 years old today!
I WAS HERE !!!!
Really awesome Nirvana show. And great work of video quality! It was funny when Kurt asked to the people that not clap in Polly, and then all the people was clapping. Thanks for share!
It's heartbreaking to realize he had just a few weeks of his life left...

Kurt dedicated Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam to River Phoenix several times on this tour. I think it affected him. They were both incredible role models for young people.
Oh yeah. They were both drug addicts. ... I love me some Nirvana but Kurt was troubled.

I love Melora's cello on this tour.
My god, this was an amazing show.
Great performance! !!
La banda mas increíble!!!
His voice sounds excellent here
I was there... the most powerful concert ever ... I'm too lucky ☠
Where u clapping during Polly?
Its not exactly a pep rally song. I wonder what percentage of the audience actually knew what the English words to that song were translated into French, or was it just a catchy tune for them? Seme could be totally ignorant to their song's meanings because they never heard it translated. I would hope not but maybe that's it.
eh bien sache que je t'envie
@@joleneloveland2942 Yes people were mostly very ignorant of the lyrics and the meaning they just liked the catchy tune
@@joleneloveland2942 And kurt said "please dont clap during this song..." but people are not known to be great english speakers in france so they didnt understand the whole sentence they just heard "clap" in the sentence so they thought he was inviting them to clap so they clapped even more
Easily my favourite nirvana show as soon as I saw the glasses I knew this would be a sick show
J'y étais, tout devant et j'avais 15 ans.... Magnifique cadeau de mes parents ❤
WOOOWWW AMAZING SHOW , thanks

Enzo. merci d'avoir sime Kurt.
Great performance!!!!! Seeing him play the Jag-stang was a damn treat!!!!!!!
I've been watching every european show in sequence. Toulon it was another great performance, from the band and from the audience, wich responds very well. Kurt seems the usual: sometimes piss off with something, sometimes enjoying a lot. This night he looks well, so much that speaks a little more and praise the audience at the end.
Amazing show love this
french public maybe?
Oddly enough this is my favorite live Nirvana video…
@10:44 Great Time with no Cell Phones!!

To his management. With the internet at your fingertips you could easily find the facts pertinent to the issue. Who the hell wants to type at someone when you could just pick up a phone and talk? A voice call is so much quicker, less complicated.. We going forward or backward here?
I was at this show, thanks for thé vidéo.
Thank you so much for doing these videos. The interpolation is a really nice feature. I have to thank you for doing that because I read up on it and have used it for a few of my videos.
I was gonna say, maybe you could do the 2/22/94 show as that one has a soundboard, it's a lifeless show but it's the only soundboard from the tour(besides 7/23/93). Thanks a lot and I can't wait to see your next Nirvana remaster, I love watching your videos.
on their game that night

You do some fantastic work! I love your vids!
awesome crowd
Wow I can actually watch the show w.o getting dizzy. lol Thanks!!
Good stuff!
This channel is next level.
Scentless apprentice gave me the chills
I think by this point kurt was fed up with the tour and didn’t really care. I believe also when melora creager came on for the euro shows she wasn’t playing cello how it was recorded on the record and krist novoselic was pissed about this and said something to her. Kurt had told her “play whatever you want”
She also stated kurt was waiting for a couple backstage in designer clothing with their kid to bring him dope.
Wow. Awesome show. makes me sad not having the chance to see them live or enjoy more of their music, i was a kid.
He sure didn't seem like no junkie here!! He played and screamed for 1.5-hrs straight. I don't know any junkies personally, but he certainly doesn't portray a strung out individual here. Not by a long shot. I'm sure this takes a lot of energy. ... Why Kurt? Why? We loved you so very much.
Why? Ask greedy Courtney.......
Melora Creager on cello gave an account of Kurt meeting sketchy people backstage who were clearly there to sell him drugs at this show. The ensuing days in France saw Kurt extremely loaded with some of photographer Youri Lenquette's friends who sold him heroin. He also did a ton of coke too at this point (buzzcocks attested to that) in addition to klonopin and other prescription drugs to help manage withdrawal. But he was resilient and always gave a good show somehow!
Heroin gives you energy and if you wanted you could do it and no one would really know but sometimes they do to much and look strung out. Same as an alcoholic sometimes drinks to much and sometimes there fine
Merci de me faire vivre ce que je n’ai jamais vécu et ce que je ne pourrai malheureusement jamais vivre... 🙏
Awesome lighting work
I'm so happy to be the owner of one of those sonic blue Jag-Stangs:) Great show for a 94 show, by the way. After the french shows it was downhill for Kurt perfomance wise, imo.
+Tomnedreb I agree, the show in my city, Rome, was unfortunatly the worst of the all tour..he didn't say ONE WORD not even Hello or Bye...he didn't move at all and rushing to the end like he was living a nightmare there...I saw him the next day outside the hotel and he said he was cold and feeling sick...
+Alba Yeah, I remember reading about it in the press back then. To say it like this, I was not shocked when I heard about his death. I think we all saw that coming...
Tomnedreb Tbh at that time I just thought he had health issues and I was not so surprised of the coma incident here but I didn't think He could shoot himself...he was worst than everybody thought...very sad.I remember him being so quite and gentle and sweet...
Alba Yeah, it was such a awful tragedy:( Drug addiction is shit...
Tomnedreb Agree ;)
This is so fucking good I want to cry.
Thank you for putting this out, how I miss Kurt/Nirvana I'm so grateful that I grue up in there time, just sorry I never went to any of there concerts. Kurt would be gone in less than two months after. this
I never cared for their '94 shows but their French shows were really good
+Dylan Connely 94 shows are their best!
+pablomistral 93 too
+pablomistral I agree with you now
+Dylan Connely They tend to be overlooked. Paris and Rennes are always celebrated, but Grenoble (I love that one) and Toulon are often neglected. Toulouse sounds energetic too, and the audience is pumped up - shame about the poor quality recording, but better that than nothing.
+dummytree for some reason Kurt's voice just sounds so much grittier and raspier in the French shows compared to the Portugal, Spain, and Italy shows. I feel like he put in a lot more effort in the French shows
Good job!
46:46 guys im french and i have to explain it to you, when you say to a french crow "DONT CLAP PLEASE", the french actually understand "oh he said clap please guys lets all clap lets all cheer :D". and thats why they all claped xD

thanks for sharing and the work on the video, excellent. This is the beginning of the end for Kurt, the band, and this final tour. 2 days before Valentines and more than a week until his birthday. Never should have went onto euro leg...no one seemed to be putting 2 and 2 together.
He should have kept a bodyguard(s) with him at all times for his safety, just in case. He couldn't afford to merely walk around freely unprotected anymore. Being wealthy and famous makes you a target, whether you do drugs or not. He might still be alive if someone was there looking after him. Unfortunately his wife had other plans for him (cremation, home demolition & selling all property and journals).
Merveilleux cher ami.
