Awesome stuff, I have a wasr I bought years ago when I turned 18. After I get my shop built this year, I plan on doing a lot of the same upgrades. You got my subscription!
Nice video. As it pertains to the optic, I have a Primary Arms optic with the horseshoe-chevron reticle and I don't mind it so much, after quite a bit of use, except the horseshoe could be about 25% thinner and still work okay without obscuring small targets.
Great video. Makes me want to set up an AK with some more modern touches. That handguard looks pretty good. Real bummer is the cost of 7.62x39 currently
@@ACxREALThanks man! The ammo prices suck. Luckily I have a bit of this ammo stock piled. I remember around 2001 when my dad bought the older WASR I have, 1000 rounds cost $75! I just paid $495 for 1000 of the same ammo. The AKM platform has such a great aftermarket now there are so many ways to set them up and tailor them to your needs/liking. Even the Yugo pattern rifles have a ton of aftermarket options! Highly recommend jumping on it if you're at all interested as import rifles are going to get harder and harder to obtain.
Sweet setup, I love the build! I have a question though; Is it worth getting the KNS Precision Adjustable Gas Piston for a AKM you will never put a suppressor on? Also do you think the new WASR 10 are worth getting (2023-2024 production year)? I have seen a few people saying the WASR in the last couple years have gone down in quality. Thanks.
I think the KNS piston is a great upgrade regardless of whether you run it suppressed or not. Most AK's are way over-gassed and that just beats up the internals unnecessarily. Also, it greatly reduces recoil because the bolt carrier isn't slamming into the rear trunnion nearly as hard. I put the KNS piston in my old WASR just to mellow out the recoil even though I'll never throw a suppressor on it. The WASR in this video is stamped with a 2022 date. Quality is fine, it's what I would expect from a WASR. Sight block is pretty straight, and the rivets look good, shoots good. With the current price of import AKs, paying $900 for this one was reasonable. Then again I only have two WASR's and one is from 2001 so my sample size is small - I personally have had no trouble with any of my Romanian AKs. This one is quite a bit nicer than my ban-era 2001 WASR. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting!
WASR is in my opinion is 9ne of the best A K s on the market

The WASRs, even though they can be rough, are reliable hard working rifles. Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing!

Agreed! A bit thinner would be just fine. With more shooting I found the horseshoe, when illuminated, made for quick shots up close.
