Mike Tyson still is the man that punching power doesn't decrease that much I wouldn't want to piss him off and he has an episode and has a flashback of one of his fights thinking I'm his opponent
Tyson was absolutely unstoppable in his prime. Something happened to him mentally before he lost to Douglas and he was never the same. That being said Tyson now is not the same guy as that bit off Holyfield’s ear. He’s more mature and much more introspective, he knows himself and his triggers, that’s why he doesn’t want anything to do with boxing anymore.
His post-prison career did nothing but damage his legacy 👎🏼 At his peak however Mike seemed indestructible. He was arguably the most exciting and entertaining fighter ever to lace up gloves. His peekaboo style was extremely demanding physically but explosive and beautiful to watch. Cus and Mike were made for one another 🙏🏼

Tyson never peeked either. He lost to Buster Douglas when he was only 23. He never could keep his head straight though and never bounced back. That is why he did not end up being the greatest ever. He had no control over his mind or emotions. In the end, probably the most physically gifted. On a side note, Francis Ngannou is the Big George of MMA.
anyone else remember the time mike tyson won a fight because the other boxer kept clinching and refusing to release. It happened like 30 times in the first 2-3 rounds and the ref finally declared a TKO?
Ali would of beat any heavyweight in his prime. He had every aspect covered. He simulated sugar ray Robinson who was pretty much exactly the same. Unless you've been in the ring, you don't understand how good these boxer/ puncher guys were.
Not alot of people know that Mike Tyson had a big secret. When he jabbed or uppercut he would bob and weave his whole body while swinging with his head down or to the side. It's so crazy when you watch how he moves his head, hips and shoulders as if he is trying to get out of the way, but that's when he is about to go in for the strike just nanoseconds before. Just watch some of his knockouts and the way that he uppercuts. That's why he is so ferocious because he was always moving while punching and therefore, just think how he was training his muscles and reactions in that way. There is a video where he explained to another boxer, can't remember his name, where he was doing this bobbing and weaving while punching technique, and I did that for about 5 seconds and was already feeling how many muscles you use and how hard it is to do, and Mike Tyson was doing that everyday, all the time. Just watch how fast his reflexes are when he swings for the knockout and how hard he punches. It's unlike anything I have ever seen with any boxer. His power was unmatched.

I dissagre. Francis is way heavier and bigger than mike, he has longer arms which equals more leverage and in general has the perfect body for striking with power. Also has huge hands that come into play when hitting with smaller gloves.
Bing Bong Joe also said that McGregor has death in his hands ... he touches you and your consciousness is removed from your body. Where was that power against Mayweather? Did you really get the sense that McGregor hit harder than Mayweathers 49 previous opponents? Wasn’t it fairly obvious that Mayweather, who made a two decade long career out of taking every single precaution possible to get a victory had less then no respect for McGregors power? Let’s just stop pretending ..
@@miniman2132 again mcgregor has heavy hands that are better for bareknuckle and mma gloves. Floyd has little brittle hands that would break if he would punch anyone with mma gloves let alone bareknuckle. Francis literally launches heavyweights with punches. Bing Bong you’re either not reading or just ignoring my point here. I didn’t compare Floyds power to McGregors, I think McGregor likely has more power than Floyd .. but Floyd clearly had never felt less threatened than when he was walking on to McGregors shots. That’s the point .. everyone thought McGregor had the power, but boxing proved he did not. Now you think Francis has the power .. if he was to fight at Heavyweight in boxing, I would bet that he would be proven to have less of a punch than most other HWs in the world.
@@miniman2132 i dissagre, mcgregor has heavy hand and great precision, it doesnt take a lot to knock somone out when you hit theme flush on the chin. Daniel Moreno mike was great .. but the most complete boxer? You’re making me think that you don’t know anything about boxing.
Tyson never had a jab. But, that's kinda like a pitcher without a pick off move because he never lets anyone get on base. Tyson just blasted you with hooks and uppercuts and knocked you out before he needed it.
Mike Tyson & Jack Dempsey ...most ferocious boxers of all time
Political Orphan who was then ....since you know who was ???
Undefeated is hard to say. But definitely undeniably the best ever. There would be no argument.
he wasn't my favorite fighter back in the day but easily one of my favorite people now. funny, humble & yeh pretty smart.
I just wish cus D'amato got Tyson 10 year's earlier just imagine how much more he would have done in his career
Feel blessed to see Tyson in his prime
Mike Tyson, in his prime, might be the most dominant athlete of all time
iMet Sauce Walka in Austin yeap 🤙🤙
Don't forget Michael Jordan
Tiger Woods? Ever hear of him?
Gotta add Babe Ruth to that list.

I need that shirt, Yves.
Boxing owes a hell of a lot to Mike tyson. For as long as Mike's primes lasted boxing was king. That's speak volumes to me about the legacy of Mike tyson.
Deontay Wilder once said that he could easily beat Mike Tyson. And that, ladys and gentlemen, is why Tyson never wants to see that guy. Who can blame him ? Noone could beat Tyson in his prime and noone did!
.... Except Buster Douglas
Douglas knocked him out clean, no excuses.
Jobber I mean the only real excuse I could think of is that Mike’s father figure Cus, who raised him, died a little bit before that.
@@Tcnj80 after getting a generous 12 count
Prime Mike was in 86' and on his way to the title. By the time Buster fought him he had fired his original team going on 2 years and quit moving his head, hardly trained. He may have still been young but that wasn't a prime Mike.
Mike Tyson will always be remembered but he never got up from being knocked down and come back to win, he will be in the top ten
I think Mike Tyson has sort of an obligation to pass on what Cus D'amato taught him. Everything he said. The boxing films he watched. Tyson has SOOOO MUCH knowledge to pass on. But he has to want to do it, to do it right.
He already did. It's in the book Iron Ambition.
@@tari8134 a book is not taking an interest in a young protege. Tyson has more than skill to pass down. He has the experience of going from nothing to having every thing.
When he was on JRE he said he doesn't even hit a heavy bag anymore cuz he doesnt wanna reignite his ego or something, i think hes totally done with the fight game and hes at peace, let him stay there
its hard for anyone who wasnt watching boxing during that era, to know how electrifying Tyson was. He elevated boxing and became an icon transcending the sport. He crossed over into mainstream culture in way that only a handfull of sports stars could, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods etc....I watched every fight, brought all the vhs, followed his career....man he was a crazy cat haha love you Mike
People be beating Punch Out blindfolded now
Tyson and Marciano are my two all time favorite fighters. One was all heart and the other was the embodiment of power and speed.
Mike tyson would, hand-to-hand, beat a fucking truck.
Mike Tyson still is the man that punching power doesn't decrease that much I wouldn't want to piss him off and he has an episode and has a flashback of one of his fights thinking I'm his opponent
Tyson was Arrested 38 times before reaching 13 years old 🤯 ... What an amazing journey.

Even 50 yr old Tyson is absolutely fucking scary.. His foot work to set his punch up at different angles is gnarly..
Mike Tyson, before his loss to Buster Douglass, was THE BEST BOXER/PUNCHER I have ever witnessed. Mike Tyson is truly the G. O.A.T. of pro boxing.
Deontay Wilder, a 6’7 fighter shouldn’t take advice from Mike Tyson, a 5’10 pressure fighter, in terms of boxing. Completely different styles
Yeah joe should stick to bjj
I think if he meant more like being his cus. Give him that Tyson mentality in the ring.
Larry Holmes. Man, I remember being 10 years old and driving around with my mom listening on the car radio to Holmes vs. Gerry Cooney.
His post-prison career did nothing but damage his legacy 👎🏼
At his peak however Mike seemed indestructible. He was arguably the most exciting and entertaining fighter ever to lace up gloves. His peekaboo style was extremely demanding physically but explosive and beautiful to watch. Cus and Mike were made for one another 🙏🏼
He quickly mentions it. But for ANY of YOU who haven'ts seen Edwards (yes the guy on the podcast) fight Tony Ferguson. Check it out. It's awesome

I remember going to Tyson fight Ruddick the second time, I glad to have gone to that fight at the Mirage.
lol at ngannou hitting harder than Tyson. hahahah. gtfo. Tyson is like twice as quick, and puts as much weight behind it as ngannou.
Hitting as hard doesn't matter if you don't have the handspeed accuracy and timing tyson did..
@@finhyland4270 thats true. but mike had better timing, accuracy handspeed AND power.
Mike Tyson such a legend. 5ft 11 and 215 pounds of fury!
@Shaolin DonkeyPunch Roy definitely had the fastest hands I have ever seen. That's for sure.
anyone else remember the time mike tyson won a fight because the other boxer kept clinching and refusing to release. It happened like 30 times in the first 2-3 rounds and the ref finally declared a TKO?
Mike Tyson hit Joe so hard he tripped on DMT
Most power of anyone thats walked the earth. Nobody threw them hands like Mike! The greatest
Ali would of beat any heavyweight in his prime. He had every aspect covered. He simulated sugar ray Robinson who was pretty much exactly the same. Unless you've been in the ring, you don't understand how good these boxer/ puncher guys were.
The kids who could beat Tyson in Punchout were KINGS in my neighborhood.
Thank you foe bring up Larry Holmes!!❤❤❤❤ never got his respect and never will so sad!!! GREATEST jab ever!!!!
Na man iron mike got more power
Can anyone quoted Mike Tyson without impersonating Mike Tyson?
I can't!

Mike hits harder... you have to hit harder to damage anyone with boxer gloves haha...
Do you know how hard you need to hit to be able to make 200+pound man have a moment of air time.
Francis literally tuches people in the cranium area and shuts theme off. He nearly killed overeem with a flush uppercut. He's the biggest freak of nature in combat sports period. He's long and muscular at the same time. He literally has the same muscle proportions as joshua but is way more flexible and not stiff. He's a freak of nature period and probably had one of the hardest punches around. Boxers dont have any magical powers, mass x accleration equals power and he has both.
Mike Tyson at the time of this video: I don't want to do anything with fight
Mike Tyson Now: The Gods of War have reawakened me.
He wasn’t on medication for the Barbara Walters interview, he was set up, and he realized Robin and Ruth wanted him to freak out on camera so they would look like victims and he didn’t fall for it so he just sat there, that is genius to me.
But yet he was so love smitten he even agreed to the interview which was dumb
"I'm on the Zoloft to keep me from killing y'all," Tyson told reporters during a news conference to promote his Oct. 20 fight against Andrew Golota
"It has really messed me up, and I don't want to be taking it, but they are concerned about the fact that I am a violent person, almost an animal," Tyson said. "And they only want me to be an animal in the ring.

Ali is the greatest, Tyson is the best.
Well said. A few years ago I would have disagreed. But after studying his style... Hands down Ali had no chance against him. And I love Ali.
It's so funny nowadays about the guy...
Like, he's become this humorous chill dude, nowadays, that you'll randomly find him chilling with Fat Masa at AEW's Double or Nothing
Imagine watching a Ali vs Tyson fight both in their prime...man
Tyson would have smoked his ass within 3. Prime for Prime Tyson was on a different level.
No chance. Ali would have won before they had even stepped in the ring. Mike was mentally weak and was essentially a five round fighter due to his asthma. Ali had one of the best jaws of all time, and the movement to confuse mike. He'd keep mike on the end of a long jab and cut him up. Mike was also a bit of a bleeder. He's a top ten heavyweight but massively overrated by the casual fans.
Tyson was a SAVAGE!
Ali was too smart he would have frustrated Mike
Mike never beat a great fighter in career
