As an American-Muslim I can explain that the ‘Bottom of the Foot’ thing is a cultural rule, to show respect to people nearby. Because the bottom of the foot/shoe is seen as something that is getting dirty throughout the day and you don’t want to point it at someone. It's honestly one of the reasons I stopped watching UFC. Both are absolutely great fighters but character and action on and off the scene says everything about a person. Khabib going after Connors team the way he did was not right, but lets not forget about Conor throwing the dolly at a bus full of innocent by standers. Muhammad Ali talked a lot too, but his stance was on promoting and world views of him, especially his recorded scene talking to the liberal student who verbally attacks him for not following the draft order. The man lived by his convictions and so does Khabib, Tyson, these convictions and passion for the emotion this sport brings is why these fighters are so great.
I respect Khabib even _more_ than Tyson because he literally never lost. There was no Buster Douglas or Evander Holyfield for Khabib.
As someone who’s not very into UFC, that post-fight fight made me more interested in UFC more, not less.

I was recently watching a documentary of Fedor Emilianenko. He refused to work with UFC as said Dana White should know to respect fighters first. These Russians are tough but respectful, its Dana who turned the sport in trash talking contest.
The aftermath of the fight is what fighting is about. This showed the raw emotion the was cooked up during the build up to this fight. I am sure the UFC will benefit immensly from that episode taking place.
