Haley is a masterful growler. Her rendition of Creep, Seven Nation Army and Black Hole Sun are masterful. Creep is nearing 120 million views on UA-cam.
Her rendition of I Put a Spell On You, on tour, showcases her vocal prowess.
Her original song Don’t Know How to Love You is representative of Haley’s bluesy side. A version she sings with her father on guitar at Chess Records in Chicago, is a great raw representation of her originality.
You didn't mention the classic Can't Find My Way Home also at Chess Records. It's one of her favorite songs and mine too. I think I like it as much as the original by Blind Faith (Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Rick Grech).

@@JeffTokayer I agree. Two great songs, one classic and one original. I’m a classic rock/blues rock guy so it’s a great video for me. Actually, there aren’t enough reaction videos to blues rock. There seem to be hard rock and metal and the most popular classic rock songs but not enough reactions to current rockers and blues rockers. I try promoting bands like Dea Matrona, The Ally Venable Band, When Rivers Meet and the Laura Cox Band. Larkin Poe a fair share or reactions. Female rock and blues singers kill8ng it these days.

great reaction ashlena... haley reinhart is one the greatest, most unique vocalist of our time. postmodern jukebox (or pmj) takes current popular songs and completely re-imagines them vintage (1920s to 1960s) in the music itself and style of the performances that actually take you back in time. they have a variety of good vocals but haley especially with pmj is incredible. other great ones with pmj are "all about the bass", seven nations army" and her masterpiece "creep".
i think what is so phenomenal about haley is not just her amazing silk to sandpaper voice but also her character and soul that she puts into the performances. even when she uses very little acrobatics, her pure raw soft voice is amazing like in the intro of "creep". you see this even more in her solo platinum cover of "can't help falling in love" for the extra gum commercial which is truly stunning and frequently described as what love sounds like here: ua-cam.com/video/_uNpEbt7w_o/v-deo.html

Post Modern Jukebox is awesome. Haley is an absolute beast of a singer. There is literally nothing she cannot do. The live human reincarnation of Betty Boop and Jessica Rabbit. You should check out their version of Radiohead's "Creep", Tove Lo's "Habits", White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army", and many more...all with Haley. They also have some great ones with Morgan James. Ohhhh, they cover Meghan Trainor's "All About that base" featuring Morgan and Haley together. Very very very cool band, and they are always covering songs in a unique style of yesteryear.

@@ashlenamusic Habits is such a dark and almost pitiful song when you really listen to the lyrics, and the way PMJ does it is almost jovial. Their cover is quintessential Haley Reinhart, and it altogether doesn't get nearly enough love from the reaction community. Even reactors that do Haley deep dives tend to skip over it. It's probably my favorite of her songs with PMJ.

They tour a lot so likely live.... as far as I know all of theirs are. Scott has some wonderful singers and musicians he calls on or videos and touring ensembles.
btw... she does an amazing Creep with them from several years ago.
I'm almost certain that they record all their video in live performances. They probably take many takes to get them right. There's another one where you can hear her move away from the mic and it fade off, and unless they worked that "imperfection" into the video take, it makes me think it was an actual audio take.

Haley is a fantastic live performer. Haley's version of "Creep" that everyone is mentioning has 118M views and was recorded in a single take during a PMJ tour break. Haley independently recorded "Can't Help Falling in Love" accompanied by just a piano for an advert in the following months. It earned her a platinum record. The audio engineer said they recorded the song in just two or three takes with "no comping" (meaning they didn't splice the performances together). She was given no backstory and was criticized for things like song choice to suggest she had given a bad performance when she had not. Because of that Haley actually faced elimination a near record number of times.
The Top 3 all have millions of monthly Spotify listeners and platinum records. The guy who finished 5th has been generating a lot of buzz in the last year. He's approaching nearly a million monthly Spotify listeners. They were on S10, which was 12 years ago. It is the only season of American Idol to gain viewers over the previous season since S4 (which Carrie Underwood won).

"Flouting conventional wisdom, the size of the show’s audience did not plunge; with an average of 24.9 million viewers for each episode, the contest had its total audience actually rise 4 percent over last year’s.
In another indication of a revival of sorts for 'Idol,' Fox said that the number of votes cast last week - when Haley Reinhart was eliminated - was the highest it had ever been for a non-finale episode.

Both DeWyze and Bowersox auditioned in Chicago that year. So did Haley. The show recorded video of her performing around Chicago with her parents, but she was rejected by Simon Cowell who left the show after that season to start X-Factor USA. She wasn't going to try out again, but someone from the show called her the day before the auditions in Milwaukee and encouraged her to do so.

I found PMJ back in 2015 and fell in love. This is a good one for sure. Oh, no. They play these all live. Record in one take. All the musicians Scott Bradlee brings on board are exceptional.

Believe it or not, Haley isn't my favorite of the singers that appear with PMJ (but she's awfully damn close to it). Listen to her cover of Radiohead's Creep, with PMJ, or All About That Bass, another PMJ gem that also features Morgan James, who is my favorite.

My comments might mirror others that you have been made and if that's the case, my apologies. This performance is one of hundreds made and recorded by Scott Bradlee's PostModern Jukebox (PMJ) which is made up of a rotating collection of professional musicians hired to do either the videos or the tours on various Continents. Scott is the leader/musical arranger of the material presented by the band. He prides himself as making these videos as one camera, one take and is as close to being live as one can get.
While there are numerous vocalists featured over the years, I would venture that Haley has proven to be the most popular. Of all the published video she holds the top spot for most viewed video with her being featured on the cover "Creep", with several more being in the top ten viewed.
Since you seem some what unfamiliar with her, she has an extensive wiki you can source, but to give a few highlights she first came to the public at large attention with her appearance on American Idol a decade or so ago. From that show she cut one album with Interscope Records during a transition so the album did not get promoted and since then she has chosen to remain independent. On the books at this point she has four albums, both covers and original, from 60s rock to current pop. She has a double platinum single, sung with jazz bands from New Orleans Jazz Fest to Carnegie Hall, been a voice actor on a Bill Burr Netflix show (F is for Family) and been an actor in the movie We Can Be Heroes. As you noticed she can whistle and also yodal (see perform LeAnn Rhymes, " Blue"). Those are the broad strokes.
This good but Andie Case's cover is still my favorite. Of course anything from Andie is always 10/10. Highly recommend checking her out she has a lot to pick from and they are all good.
Another band I know you would like is Small Town Titans. There cover of "Your A Mean One Mr. Grinch" is epic and a great show case of Phil Freeman's vocal range. Second best 3 piece band out today, only because The Warning have the first place spot.
