Scott Bradley who created Post Modern Jukebox is a musical genius. He does the arranging, or re-arranging songs that is just brilliant. Several of PMJ song covers are better than the originals IMHO. Haley is one of the best performers with PMJ. She is simply amazing in all that she does. You really must see the video of the song "All About the Bass" with Haley and two other outstanding gals, Ariana Savalas and Morgan James.
B - Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) is Scott Bradlee (the pianist) plus whatever instruments and vocalists he needs to bring each musical reimagination to life. He begins with a modern hit...and recreates it in a VERY unlikely retro style -- usually from the mid-20th century. (Remember how he took "Seven Nation Army" and turned it into a New Orleans-style funeral dirge?) Scott draws from a pool of scores of musicians and vocalists to pick the perfect elements for each song, so PMJ always looks and sounds different. Haley joined PMJ for a European tour in 2015 and recorded 8 of PMJ's best songs. (You viewed a live solo performance, and missed the original PMJ/Haley version of "Creep." You should go back and listen to that one, too.)
Hi Britt-love your reaction. I see from the previous comments that others have filled you in about what PMJ is, and recommended that you check out some of Haley’s other collaborations with them. I’m sure you’ll love them; they’re all fantastic, and you can’t go wrong with any of them. (Or with just about anything from PMJ-they use what seems like an endless amount of brilliant vocalists). Anyway, since you mentioned being distracted at points by the visual production, you may want to try a couple of stripped-down performances from Haley, that really showcase her amazing talent. One is a video of her covering the Blind Faith classic “Can’t Find My Way Home,” followed by her original “Don’t Know How to Love You.” It’s just her singing in studio, with only guitar accompaniment by her father. Also, she did a duet with the equally amazing Morgan James on the Beatles “Dear Prudence,” also with just a single guitar accompanying them. (On this one, the guitarist Doug Wamble, who is Morgan’s husband).
PMJ sometimes likes to throw some physical 'comedy' into their act/videos. They've had 'fan-girls' (dancers w/ feathery fans), tambourine guys and 7ft clowns. Jacob Scesney, the musician jumping in and out of frame has done physical comedy in their videos before, including jumping through a window during the video. Jacob was actually a reason Haley joined up w/ PMJ. He debuted w/ Haley and fellow PMJ/Idol alumnist, and friend, Casey Abrams at Citywalk in CA. He graduated from the same art school in Idyllwild as Casey. When Scott Bradlee and PMJ moved from the east coast to set up shop on the west coast, Jacob joined them. PMJ were doing a residency at the Hyde in LA when Jacob introduced Scott to his friend, Casey, which then lead to Scott meeting Haley at the end of 2014 when they invited her up to sing "All About That Bass" with them (can be seen on UA-cam) Haley joined PMJ in about a month w/ her Tove Lo cover of "Habits". Haley then joined PMJ on their 2015 European tour, where they recorded Creep and All About That Bass on their day off in Switzerland, and the rest, as they say, is history.
PMJ does do comedic gimmicks. I think though it was a mistake to do so here as it was Haley's first PMJ video in six years and it only served to distract from her performance.
@@vidpie in this case there was a purpose. In a crowded set up, he needed to move so you can see the guitarist solo and he needed to retrieve the bass sax at another time
Scott is a freaking genius… he keeps a stable of singers and musicians around to do new renditions of modern music envisioned into older generations…. Haley Morgan and Robin were his first….. Try All about the Bass or I kissed a girl
---- Postmodern Jukebox ("PMJ") is a rotating musical collective founded by New York-based pianist Scott Bradlee in 2011 after Scott had struggled for years as a jazz musician ---- PMJ is known for reworking popular modern music into different vintage genres, especially early 20th century forms such as swing and jazz ---- PMJ tries to release a new UA-cam video every couple of weeks and presently has almost 6 million subscribers with almost 2 billion views of their over 400 posted videos ---- PMJ has released 33 albums, 13 of which peaked within the top 10 and another 10 within the top 20 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart ---- Scott does most of song arrangements and over the years PMJ has featured over 50 guest musicians, has had around 100 guest vocalists and performers, and has toured six continents
Hey Britt, your musical intuition is maturing wonderfully. Basically "PMJ" takes classic songs and they put their own spin on them. Post Modern Jukebox is a UA-cam channel and was created by a NYC pianist called Scott Bradlee, who is known for re-working and turning "vintage" tunes into modern works of music. and I believe they have something like 70 performers and have toured something like six continents. Here's another female vocalist, who also sings with "PMJ", that I think you may enjoy also. "Dream On - Postmodern Jukebox ft. Morgan James (Aerosmith Cover)" Nice reaction 👍
Can I add to that the Morgan James, Scott Bradley version of Hozier's "Take me to Church" ua-cam.com/video/9C0xGB73Uuc/v-deo.html The full PMJ page is at ua-cam.com/channels/ORIeT1hk6tYBuntEXsguLg.html
I love Haley. You should check out her (and PMJ's) version of Tove Lo's "Habits". IDK why it doesn't get more love from the reaction community. It's quintessential Haley.
PMJ’s Scott Bradly is the composer and does the creative arrangements for all these. Haley’s versatility and virtuosity matches his musical genius perfectly. You should also watch Haley’s improvisation with Irvin Mayfield. Mind blown
PMJ is a collaborative rather than a band. They always have little distractions like the xylophone guy. It's part of their sthick. It's like looking for Hitchcock's cameos in his movies
She did the groundwork and she has natural abilities that she has fine tuned through hard work. Now she can go out there and sing with emotion without worry. Her hard work has freed her to be herself. She is beautiful, inside and out.
Haley is a master vocalist. Anything in vintage rock, jazz, blues, is in Haley’s wheelhouse. She started scatting as a baby, she mastered yodeling at the age of 8, she sang in her parents rock band growing up. That’s how you become a master at your craft. Postmodern Jukebox was created in 2011 by Scott Bradlee, the pianist. The singers and musicians are constantly revolving, but the theme remains. Scott Bradlee takes current songs and rearranges them to a vintage flavour. His channel has over 400 such arrangements.
Haley's mom was the singer in the family band, so Haley was on stage before she was born! 🙂 I guess it's fair to say that she has more than a lifetime of experience!
Jacob Scesney is a reed player, mostly clarinet. He is one of my favorite instrumentalists. PMJ is a rotating collaboration of musicians and vocalists with the band name belonging to the arranger Scott Bradlee. He's put out hundreds of videos over the years, with Haley being one of the more popular vocalists. You might enjoy looking at their catalog of song titles and trying out some that appeal to you. (Like the title, Crazy (ua-cam.com/video/FyFwko9O2UE/v-deo.html) which doesn't feature Haley). Having seen them live in 2015 when Haley toured with them was a highlight for me. They just played a jazz festival in Indonesia this past week and have tours through most continents under their belt. Normally they play nice music halls, so the setting is intimate and they could almost be considered a cabaret type show, with tap dancing and comedy but mostly singing.
Leslie Gore.......Haley is fantastic and more or less the media darling for PMJ but there’s a massive amount of phenomenal talented guest artist that Scott uses to fit his visions of his compositions. Morgan, Hannah, Cortnie, Miche, Daniel, Casey, Chloe, Audry, Gunhild etc....the recent European tour had Allison( Mr Blue Sky) and the magnificent Effie singing “Creep” and she totally stole the show with her rendition. IMO they are a touring stage show who just films the individual numbers with a unedited single camera aspect, you’re basically seeing what they perform every night on tour, go see them if you get a chance👍
You can't go wrong with Haley! I saw her live last fall and it was a great show! Her collaborations with Post Modern Jukebox are amazing. Watch All About That Bass.
PMJ is the band and they collab with multiple different singers to shift current music to a 20s, 30s, '40s, or 50s vibe. The two main singers they use a Haley Reinhardt and Morgan James... Who you are going to absolutely love. Morgan James does Aerosmith's "dream on" and it is unforgettable
Oh boy, no idea how many of these you've done but Post Modern Jukebox is a whole rabbit hole I'm glad you've discovered. They rearrange music from the 80s to present into the styles of the 60s and earlier. They collaborate with lots of vocal talent (Haley Reinhart incidentally my favorite to date). There are so many I hope you react to but the one I say is absolutely must see is Radiohead's Creep with Haley Reinhart.
When I was 16 I went to my first concert. It was the Bush Sixteen Stone tour. Playing with them was the Goo Goo Dolls and opening for them was an amateur band from Anaheim California called No Doubt. Never heard of them before but they rocked it :p
Note as well, her voice is quite similar to Marilyn Monroe's in the vibrato, which Gwen's is like too when she lays it on. This version sounds like something you'd hear in a smokey jazz club.
The No Doubt album cover with the pink hair was Return of Saturn which was the follow up to the album Tragic Kingdom (which included Don't Speak). I was only a few years older than you, Britt, but I was a No Doubt super fan all through middle and high school. Would love to hear you react to older No Doubt stuff like "Trapped in a Box", "Sad for Me" and "Get on the Ball".
Hailey makes me think of Linda Rondstadt in that she seems able to excel in any genre she chooses. I am certainly no vocal expert and came to an appreciation of vocal music late in life but I think she is one of the greatest living female vocalists. I've seen Linda attempt more and different styles and knock it out of the park each time but Hailey seem to be able to actually embody any style she attempts and becomes a living personification of that style. Morgan James who also appears for PMJ is also truly wonderful. I just love the PMJ concept. I have heard many of these songs for the first time through PMJ and find myself disappointed when I try to check out the original artist. Scott Bradlee does a magnificent job arranging and re-imagining pop songs and, in my opinion, makes them better than they were before.
I guess you'll do Morgan James after Hayley as that's the usual pattern... but don't miss Sara Niemietz. She's one of the regular PMJ powerhouses who get slept on for some reason. Stellar voice and such a fun performer.
Absolutely! Sara is amazing. As I heard someone else describe her-“she sings like what a smile would sound like.” And she performs with such a happy, joyful vibe. She’s definitely an under-recognized star in the PMJ galaxy!
Yes! I've been waiting for this one. I feel like people don't talk about this performance like they do Creep and Oops, I Did It Again, but it's my favorite.
Scott Bradley is the Genius who arranges and scores all the musical composition for post modern jukebox which he founded. They Rotate singers based on who would best fit the style of the song. As far as Haley's other works with post modern jukebox, Some of her classics are: "Creep," "Blackhole Sun," and "Seven Nation Army." I also highly recommend "My Heart Will Go On" by PMJ starring Mykal Kilgore, "Closer" starring Kenton Chen, "Africa" starring Casey Abrams.
PMJ is a band/orchestra...and they rotate genres and performers...with consummate skill. Scott Bradley is the pianist and maestro...the brains behind the whole thing. They are amazing. Haley is but one of many in their stable of singers. I love them. Thanks for this!

I'm so happy you're getting some more into Haley, wish you'd do many more because always your facial expression get all the more beautiful and expressive the more beautiful and exciting the vocals of an artist and the better the music are... and with Haley x PMJ you're witnessing the most majestic and cute at the same time vocal beast lady you in the States have to offer, but also the most refined, passionate and funny instrumantal arrangements of any given song by musical genius Scott Bradlee and his top tier pool of musiciane, their delivery is always on point and they're rolling out a luxury red carpet for the queen to great her audience... love it, and your reaction accordingly makes you the most beautiful reactor on the internet... pls. continue just like that! Peace and love from Bavaria 💓💓💓
In many of her PMJ covers, Haley really shows her Ella/Billie/Jessica Rabbit side. Here, I think she channels Nancy Sinatra really well. Love this song by PMJ.
Thank you!!! You are the first person that I've seen react to this cover that caught that moment when they threw the other song in. Thank you, I rather enjoy your reactions.
Post Modern Jukebox. They take songs from one time/ genre and reconstruct them into another time and type. Haley is one of their singers. They do a lot of great songs. Killer musicians
Post Modern Jukebox play modern rock songs in classic styles of the 20's to 60's with guest vocalists. There are more songs with Haley Reinhart and there is a great version of Areosmith's DREAM ON with Morgan James.
Haley, since I discovered it a few years ago I listen to it often, I really like singers with a great voice and who also know how to sing. It doesn't always happen. When will i'll never love again Putri Ariani's version? You would like it for sure.
SHE DIDN'T ARRANGE THIS SONG. The song was arranged by Scott Bradlee, the Artistic Director /Owner & pianist for the Postmodern Jukebox musical collective. Hayley was invited to take the lead on this rendition because Scott knew she'd be perfect vocally for his rendition of "Don't Speak".
I saw No Doubt at Red Rocks Amphitheater back when they were on tour with this album. 5th row center so I got a hell of a view. Gwen Stephani is a tiny little gal, but sexy as hell. Great performance all the way around... and yes, that concert is the one they filmed for the official video. It was just insane there. Of course these days I would be scared of getting injured being that close. Never get old friends,it's a trap 😅😊😊😂
Didn't read all the comments but since you mentioned "Barbie Girl" you need to watch PMJ's cover of this featuring Morgan James. Not only is it a Great Beach Music Cover, phnominal video, Morgan does a killer Theremin impression.
If you want another song done in an older style, I recommend Your Woman(1917) by White Town, which is the song using instrumentation that was popular during that period of time. Very unique.
If I had the ability to create an experience, like this, I'd want Haley to sell it as well but, let's not forget, Scott is the genius behind these covers. . . . .
PMJ is aa band that rearranges song to use great musicians. Haley was on American Idol and got some bad feedback from the judges and came back with house of the rising sun and blew all the judges away.
Creep is also one of the best performances from PMJ and Haley reinhart

Britt when are you going to react to Morgan James with Post Modern Jukebox for Dream On and Take Me To Church ?
You should check out PMJ, “All about that Bass” featuring Haley and some other singers that they PMJ uses
In many of her PMJ covers, Haley really shows her Ella/Billie/Jessica Rabbit side. Here, I think she channels Nancy Sinatra really well. Love this song by PMJ.
Haley Reinhart recorded a cover of "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'."
@@vidpie This is true, she did. And did it well.
I hope you'll react to Postmodern Jukebox's version of Side To Side with DeAndre Brackensick. No one ever has, and I don't know why.
Oh and you must listen to her Creep performance with PMJ. Will blow you mind!
Haley was on American Idol she covered I who have nothing and House of the Rising Sun check these out please
Check out her “put a spell on you” cover. It’s incredible!
Here’s the link

Scott and PMJ are genius at covers.
Also highly recommend their version of Sia's Chandelier featuring Dani Armstrong, WOW!!
Morgan James covering Aretha Franklin Oh me Oh my😊
Check out their version of "Oops, I did it again"...
I hated that song, . . . . . until Haley did it!
Thank you!!! You are the first person that I've seen react to this cover that caught that moment when they threw the other song in. Thank you, I rather enjoy your reactions.
Many reactors have caught Lesley Gore’s songYou Don’t Own Me. But none of the reactors caught the drummer playing the tambourine.
That was Lesley Gore's Song "You Don't Own Me". Good catch!
I didn't pick that up last time.
Yes, she has collaborated with Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) a fair bit. You really should react to a whole bunch of PMJ's retro covers.
Post Modern Jukebox. They take songs from one time/ genre and reconstruct them into another time and type. Haley is one of their singers. They do a lot of great songs. Killer musicians
Remember it's Haley AND PMJ' Scott Bradlee who are the geniuses!
Please do Haley and PMJ doing Creep. Awesome!!
Post Modern Jukebox play modern rock songs in classic styles of the 20's to 60's with guest vocalists. There are more songs with Haley Reinhart and there is a great version of Areosmith's DREAM ON with Morgan James.
I'm getting James Bond vibes from this version! Love it ❤
Britt I know you have several male singers in the PDC......well Haley Reinhardt is definitely in the BDC (boxer dropping club)👍😁
Haley, since I discovered it a few years ago I listen to it often, I really like singers with a great voice and who also know how to sing. It doesn't always happen. When will i'll never love again Putri Ariani's version? You would like it for sure.
My guess is if you check out Morgan James and Haley's cover duet of "Dear Prudence", it will be your favorite.
Gwen Stefani is actually 4 inches taller than Haley Reinhart (5' 6" vs 5' 2")
@@vidpie Yeah, but she's still short from my perspective. I'm 6'5" and 5'6" is pretty darn small to me
Didn't read all the comments but since you mentioned "Barbie Girl" you need to watch PMJ's cover of this featuring Morgan James. Not only is it a Great Beach Music Cover, phnominal video, Morgan does a killer Theremin impression.
Love this song awesome reaction by you again thank you so much for sharing this video with us love it Britt.🤗👍
It's a Baritone Sax. Saxophones are categorized the same as the Vocal major range. From Soprano down to the Bari.
Haley Reinhart is next level.
Very different version, nice. Reminds me that I haven't heard Spider Webs for a long time.
Her best song with pmj is creep, by a country mile
If you want another song done in an older style, I recommend Your Woman(1917) by White Town, which is the song using instrumentation that was popular during that period of time. Very unique.
You should really check out her cover of House of the Rising Sun, she absolutely nailed it
Brittany, Haley's a true performer and unique, especially in today pop culture 😉 😎
Not really in the same vein, but you should check out Lawrence - “Don’t Lose Sight” (acoustic version). Gracie has an unbelievable voice.
If I had the ability to create an experience, like this, I'd want Haley to sell it as well but, let's not forget, Scott is the genius behind these covers. . . . .
Scott is a genius. But so is Haley. And Haley gets the most views for PMJ. By far.
Great reaction! tnx
Yes, that other song it was mixed with was bugging me too - It's "You Don't Own Me", by Lesley Gore.

PMJ is aa band that rearranges song to use great musicians. Haley was on American Idol and got some bad feedback from the judges and came back with house of the rising sun and blew all the judges away.
This was dope! There is a Wayne Brady cover of Thriller in an old timey style!
She does a couple songs with a 7-foot tall clown!!
Wow I absolutely love this britt......do your Plenty again 😂😂😂 it sounded very British indeed girl was very funny ❤
Please listen to PMJ featuring Haley on “Creep”. You listened to her in a live version but PMJ version is not to be missed.
i get an even earlier vibe than even the 60s if im honest
Listen to Haley’s “ 7 Nation Army” New Orleans 1920’s jazz with PMJ.
Sorry Britt, I’m not on Telegram.
You should go to a PMJ SHOW, main floor seats are ALL DANCING. All different singers smashing pop with a hammer with the dancers and musicians.
You are so beautiful! Really enjoy your Haley reactions!
I think it's great for Gwen Stefani to see how the song should sound....😂😂😂
