Haley has been my favorite female vocalist for years. She's absolutely amazing. She can do anything. She's in total control!
She so good but so was the band. Great cover.
Scot Bradley is a brilliant arranger and musician building and holding together the wonderful PMJ and the remarkable talent there in. It's a rich vein, enjoy the adventure.
She is a siren. Her voice just draws you in.
I recently saw 2 burlesque videos using this track. It lends itself perfectly for that.
Haley is the queen of jazz. Don’t Speak should be your next reaction. And her tour version of I Put a Spell on You will run shivers down your spine.

Love how they can take almost any song and give it their own unique style. They used to have another singer, Robyn Adele Anderson. Always loved that Cab Calloway/Duke Ellington/Count Basie swing sound, even Django's gypsy swing, and watching Postmodern Jukebox introduced me to the modern/neo-swing artists like Parov Stelar.

Ella Fitzgerald & Billie Holliday meet Jessica Rabbit. Oi! This one exhibits Haley's insane ability to truly be part of the music- like Odo morphing on Deep Space 9. She BECOMES the song. So happy to see you check this out...
I totally get thr Odo reference I love watching that show. I would agree with you in the two legends and Haley embodying them. She is a talent for sure.
Definitely a sultry throw back to the older days, and very well done! In those days instruments and vocals were played to evoke emotion, not just shredding notes. I can't say I would listen often to this music, but I certainly can appreciate it when accomplished so well!

Nice Analysis, Haley says she loves slipping into character when she performs with PMJ. I think her time touring the US, Europe & Australia with veterans like Morgan James & Ariana Savalas gave her the opportunity to refine her presentation, only 5’2” but owns the stage.

Haley is one of the greatest vocalists anywhere. Her voice is incredible and she can adapt it to almost any song. When it comes to singing jazz and blues she is world class. I would love to see her on tour with a good jazz band.

Great reaction, I love your insights, thank you. We all known Hailey is amazing and she cannot be praised enough. However, one thing that I feel gets overshadowed by her greatness is the quality of the compositions by Scott Bradley. Which is why I appreciate you remarking on the arrangement. Scott must research or just have a great knowledge of all these styles since all of them feel very authentic to the times.

She's one of the best.
She is a magnificent performer in the sense of her singing but, just as remarkable, she manages to master "playing the part" in an "acting" sense as well.
She totally knows how to get into character and become the song.

great reaction bob... haley reinhart really is jessica rabbit here... it's crazy how she completely embodies the music and new orleans "dirge" vintage time period so well in this sort of symbiotic relationship that is so authentic and rare. the band and arrangement are excellent but she really brings it to life. in addition to her unique stunning vocals, she even becomes another instrument towards the end with the relentless scatting. when i briefly met her last spring, i was surprised how petite and soft spoken she is in person with how big a presence she puts on stage... truly amazing

Thanks I loved what the band was doing. Everyone of their songs I’ve done I’ve commented on them. They have great musicians backing up the singers. They really get that sound for each song spot on.

Jacob Scesney (clarinet) is a character to keep an eye on in other performances. Not only is he a multi talented instrument player but provides some visual comic relief in other videos.

When this first came out, the LA time music review said, Haley took a dismal song and made it well worth listening. The original really is a dismal song. The only reason why it was so popular because it was used sporting event
