Hafthor is made for Deadlift
I don't remember when last time I saw him struggling with deadlift
I seriously believe he can pull over 500kg this year!💪🏼🇮🇸
The difference between Mateus and Evan pulling 800+ is astounding
Hopefully Mateusz can bring it up a little and Win a few shows this year!💪🏼🇵🇱
@WorldsStrongestFan I doubt it he has had so much low confidence on his deadlift we also have to take into account the amount deadlifters improving
yes although 800 would be extremely heavy
Evan won’t win anything, he’s a wannabe WSM winner & pocket Robert Oberst, all talk with no meaningful results & even this deadlift shows it.
Yeah, looking at the list of competitors I think he will lose a lot of points (again) on the deadlift.
Mitchell Hooper
Thor Björnsson
Martins Licis
Oleksii Novikov
Tom Stoltman
Evan Singleton
Bobby Thompson
I think he will be 8th in this event, maybe even lower, even if he wins every other event after this it will be hard. In 2020 he won 4 of the 6 events and still wasn't first because he ended 8th in the deadlift. And since the deadlift is the first event this year(in 2020 it wasn't) the weights pulled will probably be higher. But I really hope he beats the odds, he must be the strongest guy to never win any big titles(yet).
John Hack always sneaks up on the deadlift bar like he’s going to surprise it
Try it, it works. The weights get heavier when they know they are being lifted. Sneaking up gets you around 10-20KG on your lifts.
@@voorindeklas- good to know 😅
Yeah he just grabs it and starts lifting,he's a beast
He also makes it look so easy!💪🏼
@@WorldsStrongestFan yes, 904 is up around where Kaz was in the deadlift, Kaz of course at the time known for being great deadlifter even at 340ish bodyweight
John hacks 410kg pull was insane. not sure what that man is made of
He is crazy strong for his size!💪🏼🇺🇸
Thanks for the video, I'm a fan and watch most of these but this was splendid 👍👍
No worries, glad you enjoyed it!🙏🏼👍🏼
*Koma Svo Hafthor!*
1:26 Apollon's Axle press - he did 2 singles
3:27 Timber carry (Raw grip)
4:00 Incline Axle press
7:48 Deadlift - he did 2 sets of triples
Looked like 160 on the incline press🤔
Thanks for the Hafthor timestamps!💪🏼🇮🇸
@@kennethsteelhammer Hafthor's old empty Axle bar he uses for that is a mere 11 kg Kenneth. However, the new Apollons Axle replica he got custom made (the one which he uses here for the 176 press) is 71 kg with the tyres intact.
@@WorldsStrongestFan Thanks for the awesome content! 💪🏻🇮🇸
@@Nirsterkur - ok. Thanks Nirmal 💪🏼
sometimes i wonder if mateusz could benefit from having a more narrow stance for his deadlift
Hopefully he tries lots of different techniques. He defo needs to find what works best for him!💪🏼🇵🇱
Always nice to have something waiting for me to watch early Monday morning, thanks
No worries, hope you enjoy it!👍🏼💪🏼
@@WorldsStrongestFan Yes it always reminds me of what I never will become, but inspires me to do something and keep trying to improve
Always wondered with the powerlifting events why they don't also have the safety bars for bench and squat along with all the spotters. Is it just a spacing or positioning issue due to all the spotters?
It's never "cow ski". It's always "Kov ski"
I’ll just stick to his first name. Hopefully people know who he is by now😊
Would you cover Armwrestling lifts ?
Not something I have any idea about so probably not. But there are lots of other channels I’m sure👍🏼💪🏼
@@WorldsStrongestFan
Thank you for the honest answer.
And thank you for your amazing content 💪
Makarov: 340kg x 4
Thor: 400kg x 3
Seems Thor is closer to 505kg than Makarov is.
The lifts are unfortunately not comparable at all. Ivan's deadlifts were raw with regular straps done on a stiff bar, whereas Thor is using a deadlift suit, figure-8 straps which allow a slightly smaller ROM and he's emulating the elephant bar deadlift using a bendier bar with the weights distributed to the edges using collars.
Thor is also peaked for his ASC 2024 appearance, and we have no idea what phase of training Ivan is in at the moment.
But yeah, Thor is an insane deadlifter and the pace of his comeback progress has been mind-bogglingly rapid. They're probably pretty close to each other right now.
Makarov would do the same having given a suit and a deadlift bar.
elephant is row with just belt and classic straps ,if elephant bar is so easy why nobody can beat 474 Kgs Thor's WR since 6 yeras!!!@@miskee11
😂he will do nothing!@@DangMinh-cj2vd
@@ShinoxSturmreiterDesTode he pulled 400 kilos for six before
Mateusz really need to improve that deadlift! if he could manage that, he could win some titles:)
Shamey 💪💪💪
Such a great athlete!💪🏼
How is that Ukraine record raw when you can use straps?
Considered raw in strongman since without suit.
Different in powerlifting of course.
In strongman if it's without a suit then it's Raw
Thanks@@kennethsteelhammer
Thanks@@petershortland478
Strongman Raw allows straps (unlike in Powerlifting)👍🏼
Sadly Kieliszkowski will never win if his deadlift stays as it is. He’s not bad at the deadlift, he’s better at it than you or I or 99.999+% of the world is good at the deadlift but compared to other strongmen, it’s really bad.
Has he ever addressed why he struggles with it? Has he just focused more on stuff he’s naturally better at or is he just physically unable to improve?
Hopefully he can fix whatever the issue is. Otherwise he is a very well rounded athlete!💪🏼🇵🇱
@@WorldsStrongestFan Absolutely, that’s why he’s always on the podium but can never win because of his deadlift. I think he would’ve won had he competed in the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic
@@mrgaudy1954 Probably it’s exactly that, because he’s insanely strong at the things like stones, overhead press, weighted carries are what he’s known for. He did a 370 kg deadlift at the 2023 Arnold last year but also did a 400 kg timber carry in 7 seconds. So he can & has potential to deadlift a lot, it’s probably just a lift he hates doing already but since he always loses points on it, he hates it less so it makes him want to train it less.
425kg PAUSED deadlift WTF?!!
Crazy strong!💪🏼
Sumo doesn't count
Still a good lift though!💪🏼
Yup! Sumo is for lazy athletes
Should have a separate category, as should deadlifts from blocks and plates. And now that we're at it, so should deadlifts where they rest the bar on their thighs and hitches it up.
It should be completely seperate
Yer mom doesn't count
😂 sumo delete
Lol🤣
Thor will smoke everyone again.
I think he will do well!💪🏼🇮🇸
Nobody wants to watch strongwoman.
