@@Nirsterkur you are so right my brother, you are like a walking encyclopedia on Thor, and his number one fan, hope you're doing well, keep up cheering on Thor and get him back to the top.
By the look of the thickness of the shaft, I would guess that it is like the Thomas Inch dumbbell, requiring both strength and a very long thumb/hand capable of putting that strength into action.
The other guy did manage to get it up but he sure didn't hold it like the old dude did and smile he couldn't wait to set it down. Old guy is a badass!!
.... Ok... Odin's changed since I last saw pictures. On a serious note, that's massively impressive. Grip strength is so important and I try to train it frequently.
Very impressive and world class strength. Luke couldn't pick it up and he held it longer than Tom so that's not his limit. Luke is a multiple time WSM finalist and Europe's strongest man two years ago. This is an exceptional feat of strength by itself but is even more exceptional when factoring his body composition and the fact he never competed in strength sports.
Size of the hand also play a major role. When your like 6"10' like Thor or his father you have gigantic hands that allow you grab that extra large handle.
Gotta remember, he's almost seven foot, so he's got proportionately big hands/long fingers which go a long way to addressing the grip issues posed by the thick bar. He may lack in size compared to these guys, but he also does train a lot with Thor. Impressive no matter how you look at it.
Grip strength is easier for people with long finger hence why mark felix does so well in grip strength, ime sure luke would pick it up with longer fingers
@@Mr.Sr.Jr. But it makes perfect sense. Younger Stoltman lifted more and held the 65kg? much, much longer than his older brother. Aslo, look at who, pound for pound, have the craziest grip strength: rock climbers. And they're some of the leanest people wyou'll encounter.
His grip is so strong because he has actually done physical LABOR in his long life. No gym will ever develop a body like being in a position where you must use your body daily to make your living. ( opinion of a 53 year old tradesman with 15 years working out in a gym, in my youth)
I know a guy named Andy that has his dads build. About 6'4 220 lbs and a monster. He works on oil rigs and I've never saw anyone do things Andy does. I feel like Andy could do this too. Just a pure athletic specimen.
2 muscles are important for grip strength. Everything else helps though. I take it, this dude dad has a trade that requires a lot of that. Strong men push and pull to lift, grip strength just comes with. As to this dude dad, he’s probably been using certain muscles for a while. Idk XD
It HAS to be an angle attachment thing with his connective tissue. I bet if a good biophysicist were to map his levers they'd find some superior engineering in there.
How can a turned spaghetti lift such a monster into a barbell. Even if he had glue on his hands, the weight must be up! It's unbelievable how much strength there is in a body that is so thin and slender. The arm from the side looks like a sewing thread against the others, but like the man of steel it just sucks and the shit goes up. Coolest I've seen
Thors dad with a wild sleeper build
That’s where he got his strength from his dad
fr
That's called old man strength
Goes to show genetics are a real thing.
And real work
@@MrChefDKhis father doesn’t work out. His hands are stronger than almost anyone in the world

@@elafzal5866he doesn’t but even if he did that kind of strength is genetic. Only a tiny percentage of people can lift that
That’s actually insane! Wow.. those strength genes run real strong in that family
Damn Bjorn's grip strength is insane
No joke, don't shake his hand or you'll pull back a bloody stump.
@@holyhex6520😂😂😂
Not to mention he’s almost 6’8 too. So his hands are obviously big which gives him more wrap around that dumbbell.
There's a sleeper build, but then there's a hibernation build.
Thor and his dad two genetic strength monsters, Viking power.
Need to add Hafthor's son Stormur and grandfather Reynir to the mix. 4 generations of Viking Power. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
@@Nirsterkur you are so right my brother, you are like a walking encyclopedia on Thor, and his number one fan, hope you're doing well, keep up cheering on Thor and get him back to the top.
How heavy?? Old man strength is a real thing!! 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻👊🏻💪🏻💪🏻
80 kg
Thor's dad could deffinately lift the millennium dumbell with abit of training that's insane
By the look of the thickness of the shaft, I would guess that it is like the Thomas Inch dumbbell, requiring both strength and a very long thumb/hand capable of putting that strength into action.
big hands are a real thing too
Bet he can lift Mjölner too
Bro forgot to struggle
Struggle left the chat 😅
😂
Thats insane and lifted with a smile also!
The apple didnt fall far from the tree, but it probably left a crater when it did!
I was able to visit Iceland and stopped by his gym to hang with Thor and his dad. Amazing people. That kettle bell is no joke.
He was a champion arm wrestler if I remember correctly so it seems his hands stayed strong 😊
😉
Champion armwrestler "doesn't train" good one.
@@Fuzzira He was never an armwrestler, he just won an armwrestling championchip where random strong guys participated.

Dad strength is real.
Thors dad just looking all normal. Old man strength is real
Its not only the grip but its 80kg too 😳
All the strength and none of the bulk. Best way to be imo.
Old man strength and he's probably worked in the trades for most of his life 😊
Pretty sure he was a champion arm wrestler back in the day from what I’ve heard? Brutal arm strength. So impressive.
That answers where his son gets it. But old man strength is real.
Halftors father is so strong because he was the one that had to pull out bjorn when he was born.
He actually pulled him straight out of a mountain.
You can see Tom's grip was failing. Funfact, Björn has the best grip of all of them!
Damn Björn is crazy strong.. 💪
Never judge a book by it's cover. Imagine running up on this old guy and fuck around and finding out.
He grabs your wrist and you're not getting away 🤣🤣
No way! That's why I have a healthy respect for everyone cause you never know.Dont underestimate.

I have watched this 5 times and I still can’t believe it

Luke lifted it on his second attempt
Thors dad trains in the gym a lot - he's in a lot of videos training

Thor's dumbbell.😂
Thors dad will have a major grip after carrying his baby monster about when thor was a baby. 😂😂😂
It's both genetics and the way thei bodies were built from childhood, i mean the diet and lifestyle does make a huge difference!
DAD STRENGTH

true viking power !

Ha! How can he do this! Insane dad strength
Unbelievable..I can't even do it wit 2 hands 😪
The Dads hand is huge. Got extra friction as it touches the dumbbell
The fact his hands are gigantic probably plays a part in it. Helps to be able to get your fingers around the handle. Still, an insane feat of strength

This is the proof that bulk is not equal to strength.
If that old man trained, he would probably be even stronger than his son.
See why thor is strong his dad strong as fuck

The humble bee
Big hands. If you can wrap your hand around that huge grip, that is the key to lifting it.

Bjorn got that grandpa strength
Keep vids coming eddie
