It is so joyful to hear you talk about how much you have been loving spinning and becoming a spinner first, knitter second. I definitely can relate to this! I started support spinning at the beginning of last year and really felt like it helped bring spinning to the forefront of my making practice just like you described. I hope you enjoy the warm weather that is coming and I look forward to catching up next time!
I totally what you mean with the support spindle!
LOVE the Puffy blouse … fabric, colour, fit - look and suit you perfectly! I was a sewer when young and I made/ wanted pieces like this back in the 70’s … you will love wearing this!
Thank you 🥰
Enjoy spring and summer! ❤
You as well!! 💚
I love your videos but def. understand you wanting to carve out more time for yourself! Enjoy! Looking forward to your next studio chat!
Thank you! ☺️
Love your plans for summer! This might be the year that I really start sewing.
I love all your creativity and plans for spring/summer. Absolutely take your youtubing back a step. Just as you are getting into the outdoors for gardening, birding, biking your viewers are doing the same and we can get stressed about keeping up with all the podcasts!!! Your handmade flowy top is so flattering and fun, can't wait to see the dress version!!
Thank you!! ☺️
Hi Ahna, I've been watching your videos for a while now but never commented - just wanted to say they are amazing! Thank you for putting in the time to chat with us and share your projects. I chuckled when you shared you had gone a little out of control buying spindles :D I've only tried drop spindles but I think it's time to try supported spindles!
Thank you so much!! 😊 I think you should totally try supported, but be careful! You’ve seen what has happened and how fun they are to buy 😂
Your puffy blouse looks so romantic! I have started to slow down my making a bit and have spent more time handstitching linen for the summer. Your aesthetic is inspiring!
Ooh that sounds very meditative and nice 😌 and thank you!!
You videos are so calming and full of interesting things. I am so pleased you showed more spinning and fibre as this is my first love. I couldn’t catch the name of ‘Maggie’s’ podcast. Could you write it please? Have a lovely spring.
Oh of course! Her podcast is Sonder Knitting Podcast. Sorry for the late response!
I feel like I say this every video but I love your hair! Makes me want to chop mine 🤭
Aww thank you!! I say go for it 😎 it felt SO refreshing to do
Love the video! Your spinning journey is very inspiring, can’t wait to see what you get up to over the summer!
Thank you!! ☺️
I LOVE how you spun the batt!!!! Sooooo pretty ❤❤❤ enjoy your making time! Would love to see some garden updates throughout the summer ☺️💓
Oooh I can definitely do some garden updates ☺️ and thank you!!
I’m so glad I’ve had time to catch this episode. I’ve been very busy for the past few months so I need to go back and catch up. Before I forget, your hair looks FANTASTIC on you. I love that you share all of your different crafts in one video. You are so inspiring. Enjoy all of your making my friend. ❤
You are so sweet!! Thank you for all the kind words 🥰
Everything you make is just sooooooo pretty! Your taste is absolutely unique and also the way you see your pieces. There is so much love, it is so obvious. ❤
Would you maybe consider making a video just about your spinning journey and all the different techniques you use? Also all the different fibers you like working with most? It is just so interesting.
Kindest regards
Mandy 🌷
I would love to make a spinning focused video! I think that’s a great idea ☺️ thank you!
Anna you are such an inspiration, you could be a style coach and model! That weaving will be beautiful!!!
You are so sweet!! 🥰
I can totally understand why you want to slow down the pace of your uploads, but I am going to miss knitting to your videos!
The videos might just be twice as long now ☺️
Your versal sweater is perfect for early spring- love the color choice of yarn, and the style you chose! Also, perfect braids for spinning spring colored yarns! I usually spin like crazy for awhile, and then knit non-stop, but don't usually do both at the same time. Your spindles are so quiet and are really works of art!
Spinning a bit and then knitting a bit seems like really good balance and a way to not get overworked by either! And thank you for all your kind words 😊
So many good knits! And so many good plans. I’m so excited to see your further sewing projects and I love how your spinning is turning out! Also-- your colorwork sweater!!! 🫠 too good
Thank you Kaci 🥰
I was going to comment how beautiful the contrast vest is coming along and then you showed all the spun yarn and I am amazed, you're very talented 💛⭐💛
Thank you!! 🥰
Hello from San Diego, just found your channel, so awesome
Ooooh what a lovely place to live ☺️
@@brookwillow thank you
I really like your Versal Sweater and Jadwiga Sweater. Thanks for sharing your spindles. Your weaving looks amazing.
Thank you so much!! 💜
I love your versal . This time of year is so full, have fun with your making .
Thank you so much ☺️
Could you give a course on you tube for us about spinning on the spindels❤❤❤
That would be so great🎉🎉
Oooh one day I would love to! I’m still somewhat new and need to get better at certain parts of it ☺️ but it would be fun to do a more spinning focused chat!
Love your podcast! In regards to your Ailbiona colour work sweater - I accidentally did something similar to the short row section on my ghost horses colour work top. I really didn't want to rip back, just re knit the collar. I found out that you can put in a lifeline just above the colour work and rip back the row above to remove the rest of the collar. You pop your stitches back onto needles and knit from the bottom down with newly attached yarn (almost like you've done a provisional cast on). You'll just have to do your short row shaping backwards 😅.
Thanks for your lovely podcast!
*bottom up
I knew at least one person would suggest this 😂 and it’s probably what I should do! I think for the sake of keeping it simple I’ll try the duplicate stitch first, and if it comes out looking wonky this will be my next step!
And thank you for taking the time to explain how to do it!!
Ok never mind I did end up doing it 🙃 thank you for the encouragement!!
Have you considered doing some surgery in the neck so you could re-do and then balance the short rows? In my head it seems feasible… maybe? It’s gorgeous regardless! ❤
Was going to say the same! I actually think you could cut it off above the colorwork and rotate it before kitchenering it back in place ❤
Yeahhhh I probably should 😭 as much as I don’t want to!! Haha
@@brookwillow ive been off similar surgery to fix the neckline on my magnolia bloom sweater! We can do this!
Not me thinking a spindle costs less than a wheel not realizing how they attract more and more spindles and 😂 😂
Like literally same 😂 and i think at this point I definitely have spend more on spindles than the wheel 🫨
