Interested to see how that Kitchener with right sides together. When you do a sock it is with wrong sides together. That doesn’t look like a Kitchener stitch. Looks more like a three needle bind off. Turned out great! Love the buttons on the vest! Actually really love the vest!
I also have a pile of "stuff to fix" that I should definitely tackle 😅 thanks for sharing about yours ! For the grafting you did on the knitting for olive top, it's a little late to tell you that (and maybe you already knew) but you can actually kitchener in pattern so that the seam is 100% invisible. It's easier if you place your 2 fabrics flat on a table and follow the path of the thread on top or below the line of grafting instead of repeating the 4 steps of the kitchener (it will be the same movements but arranged in a different order). Actually you can graft anything in any pattern, even decreases/increases or lace, it's just a matter of being able to read what's happening in the fabric !
I love that you took the time and effort to take care of your existing projects - that's real sustainability for you! And wonderful to build your mending skillset. Thanks for setting such a great example.
Totally inspires me to re-do the sleeves of my first ever sweater. That's the one thing that keeps me from putting it on. I have to remind myself that I already did 99% of the work haha!
Great podcast episode..I’m sure everyone has those items that require mending. Glad you’re able to wear your garments again ❤ I wonder…with your stripped sweater, wouldn’t it have been easier to do surgery instead of ripping the ribbing out?
I loved the whole video, but I absolutely clicked on it for your beret! I don’t know if I missed a mention of the pattern, but I would love to know what it was!
❤Love this, just the inspiration I needed to do some small fixes myself. It’s funny, whenever I do these adjustments I always wonder why I waited so long! Also, you look beautiful in your fair isle beret.😍
Kitchener stitch, when done correctly from the right side, does not show, does not make a ridge on either the right or the wrong side. Perhaps what you did was a three needle bind off? That would make a ridge for sure.
Such a lovely, positive approach to mending/modifying! Do we need to rename #FinishItFebruary to #FallBackInLoveWithItFebruary? 😍 (Okay maybe #FBILWIFebruary 😅)
I don’t think you did a Kitchener stitch on the Yoko Top, that looks like a three-needle-bind-off to me! A Kitchener stitch is not really visible from either side since you are creating the Vs of the stockinette stitch❤

Great job, Ahna!
You might want to use a clear elastic thread ( i got mine on Amazon). No problems with it showing through

No I didn’t do 3 needle bind off but perhaps I was just doing the stitch weird!

Wonder video! What type of serger did you buy? Thx
