so much wrong with this vid, it should be called how to improperly install cam in a 2022 grom. you bang the cam down on the metal lift/bench, should have lined marks up BEFORE takin things apart, should have used assembly lube on lobes, no torque specs used upon reassembly, but hey it ran right? performance does seem impressive from what I have seen from stockers on the top end, how does it feel on the bottom end? still as strong as stock or a little spongier on the bottom end but makes up fast in mid/top end?
Thanks for the comment bill really helps the ratings!!! Sorry you don’t like my video maybe you should go make your own version and save the masses from these critical mistakes that are still operating without flaw as are my many other happy customers bikes I’ve built. You have your way i have mine🤘🏻
@@dfwgromshop5622 or maybe you can learn to do it properly. stuff that gets less then 1500 miles a year won't show your mistakes anytime soon, so your safe until the word gets out. Noobs have to start someplace though, good luck to ya lil buddy.
Excellent video! Detailed where it needs to be. Are you running stock sprocket 15/38 with stock exhaust with cam/intake? I am leaning toward an ecu flash / S1 cam / chimera intake (stock exhaust) for my build. Should be stealthy with a little more on the highway.
I just pick my 2022 up 3 weeks ago…It’s 100% stock and I’m hitting 72mph (I’m 135 Wet) I can’t even image my weight on your bike I bet you I would be hitting high 70s maybe even break 80
@@dfwgromshop5622 you hear any complaints about the clutch squalling? I'm at 580 miles, right before oil change, and it went to screaming on me when I went down to 1st at a redlight. Feels like the clutch isn't fully disengaging and still trying to pull through the brakes. Stalled out, pushed it to the gas station to cool down and nursed it home. Calling the dealership tomorrow, maybe just oil ready to change but damn.
That's moving for having a big man on the bike. I suspect with a bigger jug and a 4v head, that thing would be angry! I can't wait to get my hands on one of these guys.
I never tourqe anything, impact gun all the way, but when you ugga duggad the cam bolts, i nearly died! one ugga dugga to much and boom! snapped/stripped head bolt...
The grom's valve clearances are listed on the sticker on the clutch side swingarm. IN 0.08 +/- 0.02mm , EX 0.20 +/- 0.02mm (cold). You were way off on the exhaust valve.

@@billwilliamson9842 Lol for real. There were a couple moments during this where I was yelling at my screen. This dude's an ogre.
There’s a hack mechanic for every good mechanic
@@ShooterMcgavin6 i think the ratio bad to good is more like 100 to 1 lol
Entire video almost with 1-hand!!!!
Good shit!💪🏽💪🏽
We do what we have to around here… Next video is done with a tripod mostly though
No torque wrench?
Cam replacement with one hand. Impressive :)
Can you post links to the special tools you used?
That’s moving pretty good definitely interested in that cam for my 2022
Same
Nice

Sweet just ordered my cam and tune this past week
Thank you for taking the time to share this. Very helpful.
Man are these bikes just the coolest or what
So stock compared to the cam you feel a difference
Wow you really made that look easy. Good job thank you
Hello from Greece I have a question how did you shift gears while holding your phone???
Clutchless upshifting...just put a little preload on the shift lever with your toe, roll off the throttle and it will click into the next gear.

Edit: I recently hit 75mph…
Damn. She definitely scoots… 70mph ain’t no joke on that grom.. nice video bro.. 👍👍👍
Ya made that look simple! One hand and all!
What gas are you running with the stage2?
Since it still has the stock piston, compression ratio hasn't changed. It will be fine with 87 octane.
Nice video. Dumb question....did you drain the engine oil prior to opening the cam cover?
No sir
@@dfwgromshop5622 Awesome thanks! I'm planning on installing a DHM BBK on my '22 as soon as they re-stock
DHM certifies this cam for the higher compression engine?
I’m not sure how to answer the question but there are no high compression 22 Grom pistons currently that I’m aware of
@@dfwgromshop5622 the current 2022 grom has a different stroke and bore and a higher compression and the piston is a little different
The entire engine is completely redesigned no parts will interchange from the 14-20 to the 22 model this is a totally redesigned cam as well

Those numbers are for stock cam . I believe dhm reccomends. 005 both top and bottom

Thanks for thre info! Can't wait to get the cam set up! I alreasy would like a little more power out of my 22!
Absolutely!!!!! Let me know if i can help in any way

It was absolute necessary to back the valves out before the stock cam would move… thank you
Great video thanks
Stay tuned for more!!!!!!
I couldn’t get the damn sprocket back on, ended up breaking the tab trying to make sure I was in center still. Fml.
LOL same
C Casteel hopefully your new one will be in in less than a week.
