Greetings Danny from BOSS - Arigato!
Danny is great!!
Currently seeking full pros & cons of this vs the flagship GT-1000👌
Sounded great Danny!
I have this guitar! 1977 Artist. So glad to see you using in this demo!
Great guitar, I love mine dearly.
Ok I need to buy this
Hi Danny. In your opinion are the effects as good as your individual pedals?
Great demo, Danny. You covered configuration, editing, etc, which is helpful. Hopefully you can consider making another video showing how the GX-100 can be used live. I mean as far as how to organize the patches into properly ordered setlists to be called up instantly live. Is there a Windows app to facilitate this?
Thank you for watching, and follow up videos are planned as well. You can organize patches with the PC or App editor that will be available. You can swap patches around with the unit too, in the write menu.
hii, i want to ask you. in assign menu if u set the footswitch to momen, are the LED on or stay off when the footswitch in hold position?
Seems more like Boss is testing the "proof of concept" rather than starting a platform... It sounds fantastic, as I have yet to have a Boss unit that didn't sound great....
Yeah. Testing the display features here and then putting them on the next version of the flagship Gt-1000 I bet.
Good afternoon ! Can I get some similar to the scenes like the headrush with the gx-100 ??? Thanks
The only thing I dont like about Boss pedalboards is that all of them sound like Journey at a concert Stadium in 1987
Can someone please explain how you make you’re one signal chain and not one of the existing pre-sets?
Is it possible to connect the mobile phone to the gx100 to listen to music (for example, from spotify ..) while I play the guitar on gx100 with headphones? if so, how? I don't see any audio input on the rear panel ...
THANX & CONGRATS
Hi, how do I record this into an audio interface. Will it sound as good as using USB.
Touch screen is Zoom's technology now you are remining with mult screens for and drum machine on boss pedals. zoom is already ahead. great sounds from boss gx
How about covering saving a homemade patch?
Hi
Hope we see the boss gx-100 core, some guitarist are not used to playing with the expression pedal.
The amount of times I've fallen over balancing on an expression pedal IS TOO DARN HIGH.
Hi friend, can you send music through cable midi or USB from pc to boss gx100? Is there any way to do it while I get the bluetooth dual?? 👀🍃
Maybe a dumb question- I always hear so much about the 4-cable method, but if my amp doesn't have an effects loop, does a single cable from the effects unit into the amp work?
Yes, my TA-15 also doesn't have FX loop. You will find distortion at the amp will ruin the sound of time effects. delay reverb. Works fine clean. I use an ME-80
Yes it would work, but you need to turn off the amp and cab modelling, as the amp that you are going to use already adds the proper coloration to your electric guitar sound, and then you would use the multi effect processor for effects only
How do you use the looper
Hey Danny!! Thanks for the video!! Question…are you able to drop tune with the GX-100?
No sorry!
@@DannyUnderwood thank you
It is a shame that the graphics, resolution and tactile response of the screen look kind of crappy.
This may be due to my inability to video a screen, please hold your judgements until you see it in person! :) Thanks for watching!
@@DannyUnderwood I have seen different reviewers who mentioned exactly the same issue, but you have a point. I’ll wait until I can try it.
Can u you do a video on the Boss GX 100 MIDI to Switch amp channels on a MIDI capable AMP ..Am using the MESA Triple Crown Head.
I can’t find anyone demonstrating the use of third party IRs. Are they only usable within the amp block? Can you send cab sim through one output by bypass cab sim through the other?
We are working on a video for that. You would use an amp block and use the "transparent" model, which is basically just an EQ.
Could you get a korn sound with this?
How many effects can I assign to one foot switch in manual mode?
there are 20 assigns per patch, so technically 20 but likely 16 if you have the other 3 manual buttons assigned to a parameter
Hi Danny/Boss. Quick question, regarding the "Assigns" can we turn on/off more than two effects/parameters with one foot and if so how many? Also can we switch some off while switching others on in the same assign? Thanks
Yes! You have 20 total assigns, and they can all be assigned to the same function if you wish. And yes you can indeed turn things off too, depending on the current state of the on/off of the effect.
For example if you have 2 effects overdrive and delay assigned to the same footswitch to control on/off.
If the Delay is on, OD is off - pressing the switch will turn delay off, and OD on.
@@DannyUnderwood great, thanks for the reply Danny
I wish BOSS would add the ability in the "Mixer" tool to run both amps in mono centered, instead of either stereo or Pan L/R.
Right now I'm solving the separation issue by running a compressor after the mixer, but its not the best, considering activating boosts/OD end up hitting that second compressor.
Going for a layered sound live, and maaaaan that would solve all my problems .
If the pan is adjustable, couldn't you just centre the pan controls for both amps and it would effectively be in mono.
I þink þe BOSS BB-1X preamp is þe moſt underrated pedal.
Aux in???
So u plug it into ur amp and your amp will give a different sound??
In the most basic terms, yes.
Seems like a nice multi fx and amp unit but I have one criticism off the bat: what a silly decision that the Bluetooth receiver is an "optional" secondary component. It's 2022, and also for the piece of the unit, it should've been built in. The cheap little Fender mustang micro has a Bluetooth receiver built in.
Hey JEFF! A couple of reasons.
1. Many people don't actually use the editor, or app, including me! An editor is great but personally, I feel it takes me out of "the moment". So, we don't want to have people pay for a feature that they would never use. The Fender Micro indeed has Bluetooth and is inexpensive, but there are varying degrees of Bluetooth protocols, some of which have better performance and are able to both send audio and midi to an app - which the GX-100 and BT-DUAL are utilizing.
2. BOSS provides gear to musicians around the world, and there are many countries that have very strict Bluetooth restrictions, which make it very difficult to import these products to those countries. We want to make our products available to everyone in the world, hence this Bluetooth adapter.
I waiting for the GT-1000core to be updated with a touch screen... Same with the MC-707...
GT-1000 and GT-1000core are going to stay as our flagship unit, but you never know, we are always listening to feedback. I love the MC-707 too, I play synths just as much as I play guitar. - though my little brain can't quite handle the rigors of demonstrating them! Hah!

Cool! But here in Brazil I'll have to sell my house to buy it.
I want to go with Boss but I need a “scene” or “snapshot” mode to change parameters of a preset without changing to another actual preset. Like most of the competitors floor models.
Is this a feature Boss has that I just haven’t discovered yet?
This would be a what assigns do. Also keep in mind there is gapless preset switching so you could have a whole bank dedicated to one sound with different combinations of parameters different.
@@DannyUnderwood thanks for the reply. Essentially it won’t do what I need it to do.
Boss should definitely look at implementing a variation of “snapshots” …. They have been out for years and assign just can’t compete.
@Guitars & Cadillacs I misunderstood what you were requesting, I apologize. Snapshots is a way to get gapless preset switching by having the blocks preloaded in DSP. GX-100 has gapless preset switching in ANY configuration by default - so if you create a patch and switch to another with the same effects (say a cloned patch with different settings, like a snapshot) you will not hear an audible gap in audio. If you DO have different blocks loaded, you will only hear the change in sound, not an actual drop in any audio of the preset changing. Snapshots are cool, but its a band aid feature and extra step to get around the fact that the DSP can't handle gapless switching which the GX-100 (and GT-1000) do.
Is there any particular configuration you'd like me to test to double check? I've got one in front of me right now! :) Thanks for the message.
Manual says it has Processing 32-bit floating point...not 24
Even better!
I've watched many demos of the GX100 and I'm finding it's sound somewhat fizzy and harsh. It really bugs me. The AIRD seems to sound exactly as my old GT10 (that I used for almost 10 years...). Recently I've been using a Mooer GE250 and the simulations are very organic and rich, even the onboard cab sims, the downside is the poor modulation a pitch effects. To me, the GX100 sims looks like a step backward, but seems like everyone is really enjoying the tones... So, is it just me feeling this way?
It’s sounds like you have a very discerning ear, I would recommend trying one in person - on a video you don’t get a feel of how dynamic and rich everything is. For me that is the “wow” moment, you strum a big chord and it feels good and has a chunk to it that many modellers don’t have.
It has a lot of variety, and some of the pre-sets are good. But they lack the feel of a true tube. I made a patch where the amps are in different channels, one is my my real Orange Micro Dark's Pre-amp section, and the other their Orange Clone, and while my real amp is still quite sensitive to pick up selection, volume setting, and picking strength, their Orange Clone had the same tone, regardless of pick up, volume setting, or picking strength. But they do have some nice. cleanish tones, acoustic guitar (better than my Boss Pocket GT), and most of the effects are decent for a $600 pedal.
But can it djent?
IT can - I CAN'T! LOL.
The tones sound like someone rolled the tone knob way down. Where's the high end?
Valeton Gp 200 or Boss ??
A pity that there are no XLR outputs...
That's why exists line 6 helix
@@egalopes4404 not the pod go
I've come across a lot of stages that use their XLR channels for mics exclusively, and only offer the balanced 1/4" cables to guitarists. It's not many, but they are getting more and more common.
The GT-1000 has XLR outputs, and Long & McQuade sells some wonderful DI boxes!
Awesome. Any chance you can hire software developers from this century for the next run, so that the touch-screen interface doesn't look 30 years old?
But the speed with computer and phone. Changing patches, saving patches...Slow, very slow...Sounds great, but speed and UI needs to be optimized.
I rented this. It sounds good, but it’s so incredibly difficult to use. I think Boris really needs to hire some UI designer’s.

Man I hate these buttons they've transitioned to. Miss my square pads.
One clean sound on this is great. everything else tiny mess, Either in front of amp or through the return or into a power engine. So darn tiny and thin. even EQing can't help this and the over drives and distortions are awful sorry to say. been working on this 3 days and nothin. Perhaps direct into a computer but didn't even try that just wanted it to take on a plane and use for fly dates. I wanted it to work with all my heart but... sending it back and moving on.
lier - it does not use the same audio engine as the gt1000.
Relax maybe mistake
I don't think at any point I lied, I said they share the same DNA which they do. I apologize if that did not come across clearly. The GT-1000 is still our best unit, hence the very different price points.
Better off with a line6 catalyst
As easy as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9….
no its not next lvl. i have boss gt-1000 since 3-4 years and u still didnt make good od/ds sound. this unit sounds same. stop lying.
You're right! The GT-1000 is still our flagship unit. GX-100 has a few less features, and lacks 32 bit processing compared to the GX-100's 24 bit processing, and of course different price points. The "Next Level" is a different user interface via the touch screen. There are many that still prefer the workflow of the GT-1000 so these products will live in harmony together.
go watch glenn delaune's videos and get back.
