Well done, I already knew the result of the match, but I have just seen the footage. Don't look back at its 20'20' vision, you played it right at time. You are right about the boats, many years ago, I fished the Shroppy for the first time many years ago, it was clear overgrown, and no boats and the fishing was hard. If the boats go through slowly there is no problem. Keep them coming
Another honest assessment of a good match fished. I did pick up some usefull tips and ideas from your video. Unlucky in the end, but thats how the cookie crumbles. Well fished.
Hiya Dave your instructional vids (like how you do the double lazzy) are dead good. If u ever have the time would you show us how you prep your bread feed and punch? Lots of folk seem to have different ways
well done Dave, hindsight is a wonderful thing we've all been there mate, you get plenty of boats we get pestered by paddle boarders and canoes. Look forward to the next one
Well that really made the Shandy drinker smile. So well done sir..Unfortunaley i need a new hip and a bone shaving off my spine and its now so painfull that i think i,m finished fishing the Thames.I can hardly walk today after the last two nights. So keep them coming please mate and I will look forward to watching them it may just keep me on the straight and narrow.
Superb video as usual, not blowing smoke up your arse Dave but these are among the best on UA-cam. Little trick Benny Ashurst taught me many years ago was to throw a bait tub with the lid still on in your keepnet to stop fish trying to jump out.
I've done that in the past mate. Last year i had a carp clear the rim of the net, that was atleast 2 rings clear of the water at Meadowlands. I had a bait tub in the net that day and it never made a difference! Cost me that did as well😔
Great video dave and commentary. As i mentioned in one of your earlier canal videos we used to catch carp at Soudley brilliant match dave and some good fish keep the videos coming tight lines 🎣👍
Great angling Dave, I watch all your canal fishing vlogs, don't know how you seem to avoid the signal red crayfish, as my local canal is full of them, don't know if there is any tips on how you can lesen the chance of hooking them, even if you shallow up they still grab the hookbait.
Tbh mate there's no real issues with crayfish on the canals i fish in the midlands. Did fish a few canals down south on nationals a few years back and there were lots of crayfish about on them! What i was told to do if i caught one was to crush it and drop it back under your net. Apparently this attracts any others in your peg and keeps them away from where you're fishing. Not sure if it works but got to be worth a try mate🤷♂️
Thanks for your reply Dave, I'll try that, also someone told me if yo pot some catfood in close to where your fishing that attracts them to that spot rather than the spot you are fishing,, I'll try both Dave see how I get on, all the best and keep on baggin.
99% of my canal elastics are original Preston slip For squatt fishing i use 2&3 2s for shallow water and really small fish. 3s for down the shelves or better stamp fish. For standard track fishing with worm and caster, i use doubled up no.6 i use it doubled as i believe it is harsh enough to drive the hook home in to the bony mouth of a perch but then is supple enough to play most fish without bumping them. I'll use single 4s through a top 2 for running a maggot over the squatt line, searching for skimmers.
@@davebrownfishing thank you. Lauren's canal fishing starts properly now so need to get the kits sorted. Will see you at Alverchurch on the 15th so will have a chat. Thanks Dave
@@davebrownfishing oh ok. iv got a 5 metre pole and didnt realise it can come apart like that i thought u had to push it back down i didnt realise u could just twist it to make it come apart.
I lay it in in all directions a lot of the time, mostly dependent on flow. I'll also drop the rig in straight at times as laying a rig out can be ineffective especially if there are a few fish in he peg as a layed out rig can foulhook fish!
Brilliant buddy love your canal vlogs
Nice to see someone putting the fish back in the proper manner not just tipping them in.
A terrific day I reckon Dave :)
Not match fished for 20 years but love your canal session Dave, thanks for a relaxing evening entertainment.
Great effort Dave

Another great video mate. Thanks as always for sharing it 😊
Like that - "it's a proper hook this is"
Good days sport that - nice carp too 😊
Well done master 👏 brilliant video
Well done Dave awesome mate 😉👍🏻🐟🐟🐟
Nice one Dave, well done mate.
I've always found a couple of bait box lids in the keepnet discourage fish from trying to jump out.
Cracking net of fish.
Outstanding weight from there, quality match angler you are, love the videos keep them coming.
Another brilliant video, always look forward to these. Fished a match today but still want to watch more..some cracking fish there.

Nice vid my fellow yam yam

Unlucky, still a great result.

Sorry to hear of your troubles😔 I'll do my best to keep you entertained ❤️

Used to be lots of carp at Soudley, years ago. Not so many nowadays!

Great video thanks. Just one question Dave do you ever feed a near Bank line to drop on when the boats pass.
Sometimes I'll feed an inside line and catch a few early doors but once a few boats have gone through the inside is usually done!
Another masterclass Dave, you always come up with the goods wherever you draw.
What was the 3rd best weight Dave?
There was a 15lb weight off the fence end mate
by dave if yed a been on that far spot first off what weight might you have had?great fishin
Don't understand your question mate?
You mentioned some elastics. What did you use on your track line and squatt/ pinkie across lines please
99% of my canal elastics are original Preston slip

See you there😁
Great video sir. It just goes to prove that you don't have to be weighing in hundreds of pounds of carp to have a successful match. 🎣
when u take the sections apart are all poles able to be srperated like that or only certain poles
Most poles come apart like that.
There are some cheap telescopic poles out there but they are not really fishable at any longer lengths.
@@davebrownfishing oh ok. iv got a 5 metre pole and didnt realise it can come apart like that i thought u had to push it back down i didnt realise u could just twist it to make it come apart.
I'd imagine that your pole, only being 5 metres, will be telescopic Kris.
and i thought my local k and a is bad with boats ..towpath nowhere near as busy though
There wasn't enough boats tbh!
@@davebrownfishing 😯
All about me !
ive noticed that yoi dont lay the rig out on the long pole this is most important bait presentation
I lay it in in all directions a lot of the time, mostly dependent on flow. I'll also drop the rig in straight at times as laying a rig out can be ineffective especially if there are a few fish in he peg as a layed out rig can foulhook fish!
