I like to think that his life is basically the show
I have an uncle in NYC, and I swear he's just like this guy. The fixation on stupid things, the neurotic humor, the helplessness when confronted with something as simple as a credit card swipe reader. He's hands down the worst driver I've ever seen, he lives in the city so I don't even know why he has a car. He talks really loud. Larry David is a comedy genius but a lot of his personality traits are common in NYC.
I might have to move to one of those neighborhoods someday. Years ago, I had a horrible, soul-sucking telemarketing job, and I had to call people from all over the country for follow-up interviews to the rip-off marketing scheme the company had already put them through. Most people were pretty dull, a lot of them hostile or disiniterested, but one lady made an impression I never forgot. Her voice and mannerisms reminded me of George Costanza's mother, and she had me in stitches throughout the interview. At the end, I asked her the scripted question: "Would you be interested in participating in another survey in the future," to which she replied, "Ugh...I could die." I've tried once or twice over the years to fit that expression into conversations, but I just don't have the magic.

I love Larry David!! He is the common man in all of us. He is the one that screams, "YOU FUCKING IDIOT!!" When we dare not admit that our thoughts turn that way. But they do. And we are. We are all Larry David, and it's only a matter of how much we allow ourselves to accept our true nature.

+pontiac2 Most people would want what was promised. But the main thing for Larry was most certainly simply wanting to get out of there with no fuss, which would have meant the attendant (whom he was trying to talk to) simply lifting the gate.
I'm here 9 years later and Larry David still looks exactly the same.
Larry NEVER disappoints.
I would have waited in line for an hour if I had Larry David in front of me having this happen to him. I could have had a child being born at a local hospital and be on the way to it, and be held up by this, and still be just happy to sit and watch this rather than make it to the birth.
