A great alternative for a tuna sandwich is smoked sable, whitefish salad, cream cheese, onions and capers which is the original “Larry David” sandwich but now I believe it is the “Richard Lewis”
It's amazing how Larry David's style of humor shows through in Seinfeld. Watching him here, I definitely recognize the self-deprecation of George and the mock outrage of Jerry. Jason Alexander definitely modeled George after Larry, that little eyebrow thing at 4:56, and that kind of half-nod at 4:42.
I don't understand why people say this. His hair is the same. His skin has aged. His face here is the face of a man in his 50s. Now it's the face of a man in his 70s.
Has anyone noticed how every Seinfeld character have picked up something from David?; a gesture, a look on the face, a tone of voice... That proves he was the source of the charisma that show had.
"Sunsets were mocked...the moon in particular held no fascination for anyone!" When he said he had his own tuna recipe "with pickles and peppers" he sounded like Kramer!
I is hilarious but scary as hell at the same time... It just sounds too real... It really looks like we're laughing at it thinking "what a great material he has" when he's actually telling his true story. Damn!
Of Course! the only way to get Larry to care about anything is that it must directly change his life. He is inscrutable and dastardly! Got to love this guy!
The rich prick joke was great lol. A clever play on the the two meanings of it in this context so that you get confused by what he means when he says it.
This man, just kills me, each & everytime. We used to mock the sunsets.. He's not much happier being prick as to being shmuck..😂 Great stuff. Thx 4 the upload. 👍
Not putting Larry in front of the camera for Seinfeld was a key factor in the success of the show. And not just because he would have called it quits after the second season.
When I had HBO I always got pissed when Curve was on. We had HBO for movies and didn't give many of the original shows a chance. We got rid of it and only a few months back I was at a buddys house and he was watching Curve your enthusiasm. I couldn't stop laughing. After that episode he had the previous week so we watched it. Gawd, I hadn't laughed so much. To my surprise he gave me the entire seasons 2 and 3 and my wife and I are now proud new fans of the show.
He is actually really funny. I am very happy to see he is helping the environment. I hope he keeps it up. Other celebrities could learn a thing or two from Larry David .
I remember seeing this the first time and I literally rewound it and watched it again immediately. Brilliance, great routine and segues unparalleled by any other self-deprecating comic!
No matter how bad a day I'm having, Larry David always manages to put a smile on my face. "He wanted to do a stop and talk. I don't know him well enough to do a stop and talk."
This bit is actually a pretty insightful commentary about enlightened self-interest. No matter how selfish we are, communal interests are ours as well etc etc
You're 100% right. Curb blows Seinfeld away. Sein was funny, don't get me wrong but Curb is hysterical and you can see how the quality of Sein went down after he left.
My grandmother had a Western-styled house that was LOADED with fake fruit, and apparently when I was a toddler I did indeed try to eat a fake carrot. My sister, obsessed with '70s things, took most of the fake fruit when my grandmother died.
The fame and fortunate can't turn you into a narcissist if you go into it already being a narcissist ;o (and luckily he's proven there can be a *good* variant of narcissism)
larry was the co-creator , the Executive producer, & main writer of Seinfeld = Seinfeld "the show "is his baby. every body knows it even before Curb was born.
oh my god Im crying from laughing so hard hahahha...oh man, I feel I know this person... haha..he´s the extreme version of the worst sides of me that I hate but he´s fucking funny about it hahah
Funny, I remember how when as a kid our family want to NYC to see Central Park and the Museum of Natural History the whole city stunk of stale cigar butts and diesel exhaust. I love the Larry David music.
LD=Genius...the most accurate equation in mathematics. Save the Earth so one day I can order a tuna fish sandwich for lunch again. The message without the sanctimonious preaching.
Larry's brilliant, no doubt. With me growing up near the Belt Pkwy in Brooklyn that he mentions, makes him a bit more real & relevant to many of us NYers. His style is certainly not for all. Keep up the good work LD!
Larry David has looked like a 60 year old man for like, 30 years now.
He was born old like Betty White
Legend has it nobody knows his true age
Kind of like Steve Martin. Except he has looked the same age for 50 years now! Julia has looked 25 for 40 years!
@@magictransistorradio4933 true! And J.Lo is actually regressing in age lol
@@jjmah7 That just means J Lo is normal
Pretty good jokes pretty pretty pretty pretty good
"Prettyyyy, prettyyyy, ....pretti-goooood!" LOL!
Only Larry could make a global problem unapologetically all about him! Love it lol
isnt that just the human condition?
The fake fruit, the cancer sympathy, sounds like he got the material for season 10 of Curb your enthusiasm from his own stand up x) Love it
Season 10 has been one of my favs. Miss the Funkman tho :(
Amazing how the 10th season of a show is one of the best ones. No one has done that
@@bgs5712 I agree!
That's how comedy works. They try out their material on an audience and if it works they go with it. Idiot
"Sunsets were mocked" LOL!
This is just too brilliant.
Morgoth Bauglir I can't believe this didnt get more laughs. I almost plotzed!
Johnson Steele yes. Because only Jews think curb and Seinfeld are hilarious
@@kenc5999 I love both and I'm not Jewish.
i must have a jewish soul! this is the best
"sunsets were mocked" must be one of the best bits ever
Absolutely
Is anybody here a marine biologist?
The sea was angry that day, my friends...
A great alternative for a tuna sandwich is smoked sable, whitefish salad, cream cheese, onions and capers which is the original “Larry David” sandwich but now I believe it is the “Richard Lewis”
Two fishes?

Jason Alexander definitely modeled George after Larry, that little eyebrow thing at 4:56, and that kind of half-nod at 4:42.
You're totally right!
The show may have been called Seinfeld but it had the Larry David's hallmarks all over it. He is pure comic genius
screw seinfeld . lame show compared to curb esp
Never cared for serinfeld too miantstesm. Normal. Fake. Had to appeal to zillions. With curb HBO gave Larry a true voice
@Alden Buyer I dunno about that - Curb is better than Seinfeld but Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is self-reverential meh. I think Jerry lucked out.
I think u mean george Costanza ..he is the actual person George was based on
@@julesotis13 Mainstream? Hardly. It was daring.
Never get tired of Larry's comic musings. He's a true comic legend. :)
that rich prick, poor schmuck thing was the best stand-up talk i have ever heard

Loved that line
"Sunsets were mocked...the moon in particular held no fascination for anyone!"
When he said he had his own tuna recipe "with pickles and peppers" he sounded like Kramer!
That prick joke had me in tears :)
That was gold Larry, gold!!
of all the wonders and pleasures that exist in nature...none of them could be found in Brooklyn.
lololololol
Glad to be alive in the same century as LD. In the future he will become an icon for comedy and we were all here to see it.
I is hilarious but scary as hell at the same time... It just sounds too real... It really looks like we're laughing at it thinking "what a great material he has" when he's actually telling his true story. Damn!
The way that he described Brooklyn, it reminded me of Iran, where I grew up. So nostalgic.
Larry David: Social Assassin and Emperor of First World Problems
amazing. lol
your enthusiasm offends me lmao
"Your enthusiasm offends me"
ROFL!
Of Course! the only way to get Larry to care about anything is that it must directly change his life.
He is inscrutable and dastardly!
Got to love this guy!
LD is a legend..
That line about his mom going out and getting drunk always gets me, haha.
His face is very good looking and expressive.
Yup, you have just watched a genius...
The rich prick joke was great lol. A clever play on the the two meanings of it in this context so that you get confused by what he means when he says it.
I don't think anyone else was confused
he's pretty smart...PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY SMART ;) lol
Jeez, his whole tuna story, starting at 5:59, was George Costanza through and through, from the tone to the rhythm to the mannerisms
He absolutely killed!
Larry was only doing this for his wife as she is an activist. Now that they're divorced I wonder how he feels about this now
+Jake Jarmel wow your comment made me realise how old this video is :D
10 fucking years

ROFL. "Sun sets were mocked"
This crowd should learn to curb their enthusiasm. It offends Larry.
"I went from a poor schmock to a rich prick without any transition at all." Omfg that was absolutely hilarious!
Thank God for Larry David!
"I could shove a lilac up my nose and I couldn't smell it!"
4:50 "Frankly, I'm not that much happier as a prick than a shmuck." - I guess you can't buy happiness it seems.
My thoughts exactly! A moment of genius there....

It’s time it was publicly stated that Larry David is on another level entirely from just about every other comedian / writer.
Gervais is up there
Larry David says funny things. I like people who say funny things.
larry should do more standup, that was completely genius.
