    Good job, love your videos. Maybe a tip, put some rubber grommets in the holes so the lines do not get damaged by rubbing on the edge of the steel.

      I normally recommend using split wire loom to use as grommets, but in this case it might be better for him to disconnect the hoses/wires and get real waterproof grommets. Here is a sample of what I mean by using a split wire loom: ua-cam.com/video/Fdv-eBSzWCI/v-deo.html

    I’m pretty sure someone else will mention this but its easy to see already that your hydraulic lines have movement and are going to chafe as they exit the hull so some good quality grommets are definitely needed, the same below your wheel on deck

    • @cap_eath
      @cap_eath 2 роки тому

      I was surprised he didn't install fittings to the deck and attach the lines to those. That would have helped with the seal and kept the hoses from being worn.

    • @Chris-NZ
      @Chris-NZ 2 роки тому

      @@cap_eath well exactly and in fitting the grommets he’ll most likely be in for a second bleeding of his system.

    Es tut mir sehr leid zu hören, dass Sie die Feiertage nicht wie geplant mit ihrer Familie verbringen konnten. 2) Ich hoffe, dass Sie bald wieder völlig gesund sind. Bitte zukünftig die Gesundheit nicht mehr leichtfertig aufs Spiel setzen. Denn wenn dieselbe erst einmal ruiniert ist, ist sie es meist für immer.
    3) Ich bin froh zu sehen, dass sie den Rumpf ihrer Motorjacht nun endlich fertigstellen wollen.
    Viele Grüße, Glück und Gesundheit im Besonderen.

    Good job on the hydro steering.
    For simplicity's sake don't forget to mark the centered position on top of the steering wheel so you don't need to keep looking back at the motors to see it they are set to straight ahead. This really is a handy trick to do with a colored band of some type at the top center of the wheel. HAPPY 2023.

    • @polle425

    Glad you're better. They say the journey is often times better than the destination. One day when projects are very few and far between, you'll look back on this and recant stories about what you went through, maybe to your own children with a smile on your face and realize it was all worth it.

Pneumonia,,,,,,,, theres a real hard lesson to teach yourself😢 it’s really hard ,,,,,, but learning when to take time off is an art form,,,,,, because it doesn’t come natural when you want to keep going & you feel you’re letting yourself down!!! But you really are a credit to yourself👍👍👏

    Hi Shawn great job. Here a little recommendation, use grommets in those places where control cables, wires and electric cables pass thru steel holes. Those can be made even from pieces of hose or purchased to your required size. Great projects I enjoy all your posts. Saludos desde Puerto Rico, Juan.

    I recommend adding a lot thicker tube for the tie rod style heim style joints. That is a failure point with the torque those motors will produce under load. I’d suggest going with some heavy duty heims and using thick walled tubing

    Hi. Don’t forget to have weight on your mind when building on top. I’m afraid you’ll get stern heavy. Maybe have your fuel/water in 3 different holding tanks- bow, mid and stern with pumps? Or go for a simple ballast system. 😁

    • @carlwest859
      @carlwest859 2 роки тому +3

      He has a flat bottomed cargo barge to work with so stability from bow to stern will be very good. Starboard to larboard will be a bit more sensitive. Ballast cures any imbalance when final construction is complete.

    • @teeanahera8949
      @teeanahera8949 Рік тому

      This boat is 16,500 kg and a flat bottom. I doubt all that weight on the stern will have much effect. It’s also a waste of time commenting on such potential problems because he is well in tune with the needs of boats after owning 5 or is it 6 boats and all with significant modifications. Don’t worry, he has got this.

    Also when welding pointy corners as in the tubes or even a square edge weld from the point to the inside, that way you are going from the thinnest part to the thickest part and the end of your weld is less likely to melt away.

    hello from the Netherlands .
    the only thing I personally would have changed is the way of the hydraulic feed-throughs,
    I personally would have opted for a mounting/screw feed-through here,
    so that you get shorter hoses,
    so an engine -> mounting-through outsite as 1 short hose,
    mounting-through inside -> inside deck mounting as 1 hose,
    outside deck mounting-through -> steering wheel as 1 hose.
    this makes it easier to replace a piece of hose in the future and the costs are lower because it is not 1 very long hose.
    By the way, you can protect the hoses well against UV light by putting them in an old fire hose or sleev.
    hoses that receive a lot of UV light weather quickly .
    thanks for the video .
    Sincerely Hollandduck
