Yes! I thought it was an American accent thing because 🇬🇧 but thank you for the clarification I didn't know I needed! Also leery has a more looking at something (leer is to gaze unpleasantly) so to be leery is to be gazing unpleasantly. Wary comes from the root wer (perceive). I feel like they are two sides of the same thing, like jealousy and envy. One is watching covetously (leery) and one watching defensively (wary). TYFCTMTT.
My favorite liquid eyeshadows are from Sydney Grace - a whopping 10ml of product for only $8 and you need the tiniest amount, so the tubes will last forever. I always use an eyeshadow primer, but on me they're budgeproof all day, and they come in 37 (!!!) colors ranging from neutrals to brights to even multichromes. I can't believe these exist, they're heaven to my eyelids and my wallet.

The yummy skin blushes are awesome! The lightest color would work for you. it’s a dusty pink color. They are VERY pigmented. I took a Pilates class yesterday using the balm powder and the blush and it still looked fresh when I was done.I think that combo is going to be great for summer. Particularly if you are a sweaty beast like me.

I think another thing to consider, about the eyeshadow that pulled very pink, is that the palette packaging is pink. In contrast to the packaging, the eyeshadow looks more gray. However, if I use a color dropper tool on that eyeshadow pan, it’s definitely pink leaning.
story time speaking of oil paint on your hands: my junior year of high school i was in art school and we'd been doing navy blue oil paint reductions in class. also there was a perpetual layer of charcoal and graphite dust on the studio floor, and i literally never wore shoes in the studio.
so my long time best friend shows up to pick me up after class because it's prom weekend! and she's like hey we're going to get mani-pedis!! right now!!
so i show up to the salon with DARK BLUE oil paint in all my nailbeds and on my hands.... and black dust all over my feet 😂i know the nail techs were judging me and that's totally understandable but no amount of scrubbing or turp was cleaning those little hands
Never fear! I have oily skin, and Complexion Rescue works for me so well. I do powder it, but it looks gorgeous. You can still somehow see the glow even under powder. It’s beautiful!

Super helpful! Especially with the Kosas. I really like my Danessa Myricks yummy skin balm, and I use it similarly for like certain spots to get that nice finish in combination with other foundation like the Blunder Cover.
The way you pulled it all together was awesome!
Omgosh yes - your points about certain creator's content being 100% only first impressions is so true. I tried tiktok for reviews for a very short time and realizing all they're ever going to do is put it on, say its good and tell you to run out and buy it. The only thing I could see those types of reviews being useful for is if you're trying to eye off shade matching and nothing else.

I have tried very very few products from Tarte because I just feel like they are too white lady for my melanated skin, but what I have tried blew me away! Most recently their clear lipgloss/chapstick thing. My HG and I have tried everything. Maybe Dior lip glow comes close but I adore my Tarte and will now buy the coloured products in that same line.
I love About-Face. Their liquid eyeshadows are the only ones I've used that don't burn while they are drying down. I've tried one AF94 lip gloss and it's really pigmented and not sticky. 💚🖤
I feel like the DM powder pulled the whole look together! Helped to meld the beautiful colors into one cohesive face of makeup. Wow !

Catching up on old videos so not sure you’ll see this, but I’d love a video or short comparing the shades of the liquid lurex shadows. I’m so interested in them but am trying to pick the colors I’d use the most!
I love the look of oil paint. & love hearing you talk about your art and process. They drying time, fumes, and cost is such a pain. But for certain things, it just has my heart. Curious to see how you go, and if you pick and choose oil vs acrylic for each project you do. 🖼👩🏼🎨
I'm not Kackie, but I started to use water mixable oils. No stinky solvents! I love them. You can't buy the same colour range, but I like to miss my own anyway.

I found that watching spa extraction videos helps take care of some of that brain that keeps me from picking on myself. Sad can be hard. I feel like we need more ways to feel that but not be overwhelmed by it. Hang in there.

Non makeup related comment. I love acrylic but my frugal a$$ just can’t handle the waste- because I always seem to squirt more paint than I use. So now I switched to watercolours and water based gouache. Yummmmyyy. I am a hobbyist and am enjoying the Himi Miya jelly gouache! 🤣 I love it looks like desert . Oil is dreamy but I don’t have the skills or the cash for it.
You could get the skills it you gave it a go! (I feel you on the cash thing, though.)
Jackson’s art has good prices right now for paint (I do mostly watercolor) because of the conversion rate between the £ and the $. And they do specials sometimes, too. Just sending that out into the universe for you.

I love bare minerals, as well…but I am PISSED that they discontinued the Bare Pro Concealer stick! That was hands down my favorite complexion product

I immediately thought of how often I hear people use words incorrectly when you brought up leery/wary. A few decades ago I may have been accused of being a grammar snob. The funny thing is, I'm only hard on myself when I misspell, or use punctuation incorrectly! I try to never point out when other's do it! 🤣 I love that you included that little lesson because I internally giggle when folks misuse words.

You might've tried this, but I use makeup remover to get oil paint off my hands. Always a cheap one though! Currently the Garnier biphase micellar water with oil. It works pretty well. (Mostly I don't care if my hands are stained, but sometimes I do.)

The skin1004 sunscreen is chemical, not physical! The Korean filters are less smelly than the US ones lol. No white cast!

How would you compare the kosas shimmer goo to the well people primer?
I want to love liquid eyeshadow and I've had so much trouble with them. The ilia ones were so finicky. Honest beauty, terrible, kosas never bought because of the terrible reviews. The rms eyelights are ok but don't have a long wear time.
The only ones that I am keeping in my collection are my pyt liquid glitter shadow
Cream eyeshadows work so much better. I love the phytosurgence ones and have a few of the smashbox always in cream shadows in a few matte shades.
Find a good couple of cream one and done eyeshadows and a few in base tones to use as primers and then get powder eyeshadows, works much better.

There's something about that warm eyeliner that make your eyes look really big! I think it's because your actual eye color and the eyeliner are both closish in color on camera so the viewer's eye kind of connects them and reads it all as one thing? (if that makes any sense, which it probably doesn't haha)
As a total aside as someone who works with language... Leery after you already encountered something and are suspicious, wary before you know anything. However, totally support the education and the updated information.

Just as an FYI- LH cosmetics has a matteifying powder with uppsalite in it. I’ve noticed that Linda works with danessa’s products very often and if she pointed danessa to the direction of uppsalite 😊

The Skin1004 sunscreen is 'non-nano' chemical sunscreen and uses Uvinul A plus, Uvinul T 150, Tinisorb M, and Uvasorb HEB. I enjoy it, it's not as shiny-dewy as Beauty of Joseon or isntree watery sun gel. Really nice, more natural finish.
Edit to add the Tinisorb M is the filter responsible for any white cast. Even though it's a chemical filter, it works similarly to mineral as a UV A filters, blocking and scattering UV. The Canmake mermaid gel in the white variation is Tinisorb heavy and I detest that formula, it leaves an awful filmy white cast even for pale folks. Thankfully skin1004 is better formulated! But it may not work for everyone.

I'm tempted by those danessa myricks blushes, mainly by what seems like vivid color. But I'm racking my brain about this one brand I thought I saw here that had the most vivid blushes that included a really really vibrant red as well as a violet shade? Anyone help me here? The packaging looked sleek and lux, but it wasn't a well-known luxury brand or anything. help!

when i was a baby my father’s english wasn’t as great as it is now. he couldn’t remember the word for vagina and called it a petunia. my mom thought it was hilarious and it stuck- growing up that was the term we used. so fun…… except now whenever i hear the word petunia my brain says “vagina”
