There was a photo that floated around a few years ago that showed how the Surratt eyelash curler has the flattest curve and thus it is a literal miracle for smaller/monolid eyes because it doesnt pinch and can get all of the lashes
Hi I’m an avid UA-cam viewer. I recently stumbled upon your videos and have been bingeing for about two weeks now. I haven’t worked in four years now, by choice, because I worked for 40 years and it was time for a break. I NEVER watch beauty videos but I was inspired and intrigued by your personality and was pulled into your world of advice, honesty and beauty and I just love to watch you do your makeup. Being at home every day, I kind of fell into the mind set of, no one is going to see me, lazy, blah, blah, blah, I stopped using makeup except for special occasions. Well, since you came into my life, I have been using makeup almost every day just to feel good about myself. I missed the daily ritual of putting on my face like I used to do everyday when I was working. Thank you for igniting that spark that was burning out in my brain. I will be turning 60 this year and I feel just as beautiful as I did in my 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. (I just need to get back in better shape. Lol)
I love Surratt… understated but elegant and high performing. My mature light medium dry skin loves every product I’ve tried including the Dew Drops, blushes, eyeshadows, brushes…. a dream.
thank you for talking about accessibility issues with the skin tint! i’m 19 and have hypermobile joints and very poor fine motor skills in general, and i’ve found that there’s a lot of makeup that’s hard/damn-near-impossible for me to use. i wish companies would spend some more time thinking about the accessibility of their products
Your realization of the eyeshadow being the same color as your hair made me realize the only neutral shimmer I’ve ever felt like passionate about: a deep cooler toned chocolate brown aka my natural hair color!!!
I think the Dew Drop foundation is incredible. I started using it after hautemesstom's thorough review. It is a perfect shade match for me (which is very difficult because I am so fair), it blurs, it covers, it lasts all day... I just adore it. I think it is best with a dense brush and it takes a minute to set down and really show it's magic. I hate the packaging (so I cut it open and put it into a different container) and the price is stupid (so I bought it on eBay). But, as my grandfather used to say, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla!
You're definitely on to something with your hair color being your ideal bedroom eyes color. I have black hair, and I love a smudgey smokey eye with black shadow on me. However, when I have tried that same makeup on friends, they always comment on how unnatural/unflattering on them.
And when I use a darker brown than Kackie does for a bedroom eyes look, it works better on me, but I hadn’t connected it to my hair shade before this. I always get more complements when I use a cool, dark brown.
Thank you for mentioning the packaging, not being very accessible. It just makes me feel “seen”. Juv.Rheum.Arth.x40 yrs and about 20 years on biologics. I hope you get your medication soon. ✌🏻from 🇨🇦
I have the lipslique in eglantine and I love it. I received as a part of a box. It’s my second favorite formula after Lisa Eldridge. They’re comfortable and last longer on the lips than expected. It is expensive though!
Thank you so much for this Kackie ❤ If I had to choose a favourite brand it would be Surratt’s - I keep coming back to them again and again (the smokey eye batons and shadows in particular) - there is a distinct charm and subtle genius in these creations that has captured my heart, and just loving that they’re finally getting the Kackie treatment and you giving the attention they deserve. Bring on Part Deux! ❤️
Surratt is one of my favorite brands. The brushes are absolute favorites. I love all their powder products and eyeshadows. Last but not least, the lash tint mascara is HG status for me. The highlight stick is just OK - I find it too glittery. I haven’t tried the liquid blushes yet but would love to after seeing your demo. Thanks!
As someone with black hair and who never wears black smokey eyes... I will say though that I have dyed my hair a mushroom brown color before and loved it, and that's exactly the kind of color I love wearing on my eyes -- neutral taupe brown.
Kackie!! I’d love to see a review of La Bouche Rouge :) it’s a clean luxury brand and the packaging sure feels that way (I think the leather comes from the tannery Hermès owns!)
sooooo this review was surprisingly more extensive than i expected. not only the foundation but a full face, that´s great! After watching this i am somehow conflicted. I hear what you say, what is a kind of meh for the high price, but wow foundation and blush alone looked so good on camera and i felt compelled by it. Maybe, my main takeaway from the review is one product from the list (foundation) but two new ones now on my radar (lips + eyeliner) 😅
I have auburn red hair and feel that warm brown or rust is really my best color for eyeshadow! BUT I wonder if this theory works for blondes or if it’s all about contrast and coordinating undertones with a sultry dark eye?…
Love this!!! I think you would like the wand foundation better than the dew drop, and I am starting to swear by their lash tint!! Can't wait for part two!!
31:24 💡 Bigger blush brush idea! The palettes are modular, right? This looks great on you-especially the eye shadow! I mean WOW. I do have to say, having to stick your pans in a case with stickers does not feel like luxury to me. I wonder if they’ve considered modernizing and going with magnets.
Ok just at the blush section of the video, ugh how pretty is cantaloupe. We need a dupe with a bit more oomph. Soooo pretty though. I think that 3 face powder palette would be more useful with a bronzer shade instead of the highlighter.
Hey kackie, your hair being close to your perfect bed room eyes brown is amazing advice. for me i have black hair and a medium olive skintone. I found a new shade from terramoon cosmetics called mocha twilight and its this cool deep silverish browny color and its definitely one of my favorites. and relative to my hair it has a similar undertone and depth level.
I felt the same way when I tried the Dew drop foundation like it wasn’t bad, but I was confused because I really expected it to be more special. Also agree about the eyeshadows. They are really beautiful Aso love their powder blush!
Ah! I just realized what it is about your painting in the back that makes me _stare_ at it- it is the way you use true primary colors. (Le Blon be damned! 😂❤❤) It’s crazy how much the magenta pops from just that little bit of cyan behind and around it. 🥰 I just love looking at it. Also, I too have psoriasis, it can cause eye inflammation, did you know? It loves to mess with my eyes 😩😩😩
Thanks for the input about the foundation as I've been wondering about that one for ages. I do love their lid laquers as they're great for days when I'm having a strange craving for the damp eyelids look 😁
Hey Kackie, this is gonna sound crazy. But you might have a stye on your eye, if so warm compress is great for sure BUT ALSO, put a tiny bit of tear free Johnson original baby shampoo on it and don’t wash off. Apply like an “ointment”. It works miracles to heal those things real fast!
Thank you for pointing out packaging that fails at inclusivity. Many of my joints are hypermobile, and I'm totally over buying makeup that will bend my fingers backwards before yielding!
My hair color is natural red. So...my bedroom eyes is an orange/ red. 😂 I go with a copper and it does bring out the green in my eyes nicely. I ordered 2 of the beauty bentos. Alas that lovely pink one was sold out.
Aw darn, I was really hoping you were going to review their mascara! Been eyeing it but would love to know from the tubing queen herself how it measures up.
Check out the Surratt “blush” in the shade Grisaille. Best contour shade ever, and the creamiest powder formula. I’m a complexion twin to you, I think you’d love it.
Me& my sister just had that voice thing. Idk if you’re still going through it but what helped me- chamomile tea I did the blend with honey & vanilla but inside put a generous table spoon of honey sourced from your area local honey like made in your area is best. But just made in USA is superior than out of the country. You don’t wanna drink it through a straw! You wanna do like the open sip style lid of Starbucks cups or if you’re one of Gods favs who can drink from a mug- like idk an adult- having it coat the back of your mouth& throat is most effective in relieving pain. That’s what worked for us& neither of us like chamomile tea. My sister got so bad she finally caved& started drinking it. She absolutely abhors tea in any form. But ya get desperate enough after day 3.
*I did book a telehealth appointment with my GP& they said what I was doing was good in my case. Soo idk try at your own risk 🤷♀️ but I wouldn’t recommend things that I think would harm others❤❤
Try the surreal skin wand 👌🏽 Their brow pencil is the best for me! Bronzer wise Chaleur is the « blush » shade to choose and you’d love Grisaille! The blush formula is so special, I agree with the packaging, I wish they were magnetic. You look particularly incredible in this video by the way 👌🏽
Surratt’s inner light baton (similar to the eyeliner) is my all time fave!!! I use the color Effervescence- HIGHLY recommend. I’m on my 3rd one and have turned both my best friends on to it. Best $45 purchase ever haha 😂☠️
I really liked the Prismatique eye duo that I bought years ago! The cream shadow was very creamy and blendable, and the powder shadow was gorgeous on its own or over the cream. I was even able to use the cream when it dried out a bit, which I really appreciated. Man, the price of them has gone up though! When I bought mine, it was $38, which I thought was crazy at the time. I can't wait to see how you use yours!
I’ve used the Dew Drop foundation (bought at Barney’s closing sale back in 2019) but was matched to a color at least 1-2 shades to deep. I never bothered to try and get a better match because the dispensing mechanism was not worth the trouble! My thumbs would hurt so badly after I applied it!!! Surratt makes beautiful makeup that is a touch too subtle for me, but that I would wholeheartedly recommend to someone who wanted softer looks. Where they really shine, IMO, is their makeup brushes. I have the absurdly expensive face brush and my goodness…when I apply Kosas Cloud Set with the Surratt brush it is a sensorial joy.
Love that deep brown shade n the eyeliner! That put together the look so well! 💜💜 p.s. I'm trying to catch up on your videos after a stint of major depression for a couple weeks. All good now over here!
The only thing I’ve tried from Surratt was the lid lacquer. Not for me haha, they are a true eye gloss which looks amazing for approximately 45 seconds and then it creases. I’m super interested in the lipsliques.
Did anyone else gasp when Kackie showed the brush she received? Those are exquisite AND RIDICULOUSLY expensive. But girl, Those eyeshadows seem perfect for my old eyelids
Ya, I've got a patch of psoriasis on my left lid after wearing eyeshadow on Saturday. I've also got a contact reaction on my chin and lower face. Not sure if it's a skincare issue, or a sunscreen primer I've been testing. I'll have to do some isolated swatches, and see which it is. Can't spend Surratt prices when I know which ingredients are challenging for me. I did get the Vapeur Mauve Batonj, however, during a sale last year, and want to try the silver & ashy taupe ones, but one sale at a time. Knowing you crank up saturation helps me understand things I've seen in your vids. Thank you for stating that. Thanks, Kackie!
I LOVE using the Surratt blush in Grisaille as a contour and the Aureole/Areola highlighter is so beautiful. Their powders are gorgeous!! The Dew Drop foundation doesn’t work for my shaky nerve damaged hands but when i WAS about to get it out it was just…..fine? Michele Wang swears by it but she also has perfect skin and doesn’t have severe rosacea. But Kackie….those earrings….how do I get those!!!
I love many products from this brand and eyeshadows are amazing, also love their Lipsliques , just bought 7 colors, some repurchasing. Blushes are great as well. Just purchased 2 of their foundations , will be testing soon. This brand is very mature skin friendly and makeup looks very elegant, not overdone … classy. Need to try their eyeliner, based on your experience. Thanks for this video❤️
Love that blush color cantilope. My checks are naturally flused so I don't like a lot of blush. You are pretty much your skin twin. My hair is very ashy money brown. Your looks like you added a red in your hair? If so it looks very good.I would like to but some red in my hair perhaps highlights or balange. Some color that grows out well.I can't seem to find a colorist who know what a good red would match my undertones. I would like it to look natural. Also is Cantalope similar to one of Wayne bosses palette colors?
Can I say something out of pure love and appreciation? Can you please try to extend the length/end of your eyebrows just a tad, I have a feeling it will be so gorgeous on your already gorgeous face. As someone who lost her eyebrows (disease/stress related), I am weirdly obsessed now with eyebrows so forgive me 😂!
YESSSSSS love this review. I recently picked myself up that dew drop foundation and as pretty as it is, I AGREE, the packaging is tragic. You have to try the contour shade grisaille, it's so good.
Just used my first ever affiliate link…..this look was just beautiful on you! I had to try the eye batons and maybe a couple other things 😬! I also swear this video is why Hevyn is sold out! ❤. Looking forward to part 2 😊
Tbh the whole brand is heavily "inspired" by the Japanese brand Addiction. If you can afford buying abroad, I highly suggest trying that brand out. Way better.
Thank you for this video and for showing your eye!! I have the same thing with my eye however mine hurts so bad .. and all my lashes actually fell out as well.. Prayers for you Kackie!! Love&light from California ❤❤
I have a Surrat powder blush trio and they too are quite unpigmented. The paler shades are lovely, but I have to build them up quite a bit to get them to show on my very light skin, so by the time the color starts to be noticeable enough for me, they start to look powdery and textured. I guess this brand caters to people who just want a wash of something, rathe than a pop of color.
You look beautiful 💫 the mama in me us cringing every time you put some make up on your poor little eye irritation 😱 But, looks beautiful and I love that last shimmer you added! Shimmer peach 🍑 LOVE ❤
Hi Kackie! I’ve tagged you in the best Aries ♈️ posts that I can find on Instagram! I kind of wish I was an Aries. My friend told me that I am the most un-Leo Leo ♌️ ever 😂.
Your eyebrow looks aaaamazing! May I ask what color and which colored brow gel did you use after brow pencil before Surratt Expressioniste Brow Pomade (Clear)? Thank youuu!
I had a similar experience in selecting a 6 pan eyeshadow palette. Everything looked so similar when it arrived,bi wanted to cry. But, they are my favorite eyeshadows. So easy to apply and blend, and they last for hours even without primer. Also kind on aging eyelids. I use it so frequently, I love the satin finish, etc. I also love the blushes. My biggest complaints are how hard it is to s❤elect eyeshadow colors online and the fact that the palettes aren’t magnetic. Seriously stickers?!
Hi Kackie, the surratt primer is excellent in canceling the dewiness of SPFs, or so i’ve heard 😅 that’s why it is on my wish list. I woud love to see you apply it on the dewy spf 😊
When a brand persists in using anti-ADA packaging, ie discriminatory packaging, let's go ahead and assume they very much know what they are doing, even if they are based outside the US. A lot of luxury brands do not want us defective people out there using their brands and feel that bigotry adds to the luxury. Something to consider when deciding how to vote with your dollars.
So I have a deeper skin tone (NARS New Caledonia) and I have tried a few things from Surratt. Blush: The liquid blush…I think that hot pink Classique, is probably the only one that shows up ok from what I have seen. The blush version…is pretty and shows up fine (I do love a buildable blush color). But from what I can see, I can only maybe pull of like 3 shades from them out of all their blushes. Foundation: The foundation….is nice. It’s fine. The shade suck. I don’t have a super great match. There is no real good in-between medium deep/deep shades. Eyeshadow: There are like no swatches…but from what I can see, most of the colors would not show up on me and probably would come off ashy. Overall, a brand I would love to try…and get more use of. But…I can’t really. I love nice subtle buildable sheer makeup and blushes. But it’s very difficult to find those kinds of formulas and nuanced shades for deeper skin tones like mine. I don’t usually want a hot pink or plum blush. I like pigmented buy buildable (not ashy) eyeshadow. They can be a bit hard to find. I have basically given up on Surratt and just decided to look elsewhere lol But I have found some decent options through you Kackie, since our makeup sensibilities are very similar! So, thank you for having all these options for brands you try. It is very helpful 😊
Careful with HG if your skin is already upset. Most of their powders have bismuth oxychloride, an irritant. Their palettes were my go to forever, especially traveling but no more. 😭 Since kicking that ingredient out of my makeup my skin is SO much better.
i'm going to forget the details but there is something specific and unique (in a literal formulaic way) about the surratt eyeshadows (maybe all powders, but i forget). if i remember correctly the process has a french name and has to do with how the powders are blended before they are pressed, or something to that extent. worth looking into as one of the main focuses of the brand is innovation.
I've heard it described something like a slurry that's dried and powdered? Agree - they're gorgeous! I swatched one randomly as I was leaving a store and instantly was hooked 😊
I love the foundation and the cream blush. I put 3 drops of foundation on my brush and spread it on my face. I take the blush with my fingers straigjt from the sponge rub them together and to my cheaks. easy
I have the smokey eye thing in canons de beauté and it's pretty but holy macaroni the eyeliner irritates my eyes. I'm hesitant to try it again, though I guess it might be ok if I didn't put it in the waterline. But I'd be cautious if I were you!
Either you have super human strength or I'm concerningly weak because I just pulled out my Dew Drop to wear and for the life of me I couldn't get it out as easily as you seemed to! Whatever the reason, packaging updates are needed LOL
also worth noting that Hevyn is indeed a reference to kevyn aucoin as troy surratt was his assistant for many years.
As in Kevyn in Heaven? Because dear lord that’s beautiful 😭 ❤

I have every reason to buy more!
@@kackie I just remembered: Beautylish 's spring Gift Card Event is coming! And they carry lots of Surratt, so if you're gonna get stuff anyways... 😁

Surratt’s inner light baton (similar to the eyeliner) is my all time fave!!! I use the color Effervescence- HIGHLY recommend. I’m on my 3rd one and have turned both my best friends on to it. Best $45 purchase ever haha 😂☠️
I love it too!
Idk man, I don’t think black would be my bedroom eyes lol but I’ll give it a try and update y’all later lol
I love the formula of Surratt powder products !!!
But Kackie….those earrings….how do I get those!!!
poppy Lissiman!
@@kackie your accessories are always soooooo beautiful girl
Psoriasis is so weird! It popped up inside my bellybutton at one point! But back to the point… thanks for the video. ❤
Omg you look so stunning!! Dying for that blush on you 🤍🤍🤍
Just used my first ever affiliate link…..this look was just beautiful on you!
Way better.
Dang, the lift on your eyes and brows is so stunning.
Loved, loved this video👏👏🌟👍🏻🌺🌷🌹🌸👏👏👏🌸 thank you and stay well
I’ve never tried anything from surrat! This was really fun to get a deep dive on a brand that I knew basically nothing about
Thank you for this video and for showing your eye!!
Hi Kackie when I tried Surratt years ago in the UK, I was told that Hevyn was named for Kevyn Aucoin as a tribute!
LOVED that video ! Very informative and now I feel like I want to try almost everything from surrat ? 😅😘
I was checking Surrat. But just checking, you know, the price is just for checking 🤣.
Wow, this blush is beautiful! Have to go on watching 😮
That non-lip is so gorgeous!
honestly i love your name so much! it’s so beautiful & it suits your gorg smorg face so week 😊
You and Tom have me starting conspiracy theories what with you both doing surrat videos in the same week.
You look beautiful 💫 the mama in me us cringing every time you put some make up on your poor little eye irritation 😱
But, looks beautiful and I love that last shimmer you added! Shimmer peach 🍑
LOVE ❤
Kackie, that is a natural squirrel hair, crazy expensive brush. Please don’t “break it” in too much.
Hi Kackie! I’ve tagged you in the best Aries ♈️ posts that I can find on Instagram! I kind of wish I was an Aries. My friend told me that I am the most un-Leo Leo ♌️ ever 😂.
Absolutely gorgeous look!
I used to own the Surratt brow pomade and really liked it.
Blush:
The liquid blush…I think that hot pink Classique, is probably the only one that shows up ok from what I have seen.
The blush version…is pretty and shows up fine (I do love a buildable blush color). But from what I can see, I can only maybe pull of like 3 shades from them out of all their blushes.
Foundation:
The foundation….is nice. It’s fine. The shade suck. I don’t have a super great match. There is no real good in-between medium deep/deep shades.
Eyeshadow:
There are like no swatches…but from what I can see, most of the colors would not show up on me and probably would come off ashy.
I have basically given up on Surratt and just decided to look elsewhere lol
But I have found some decent options through you Kackie, since our makeup sensibilities are very similar! So, thank you for having all these options for brands you try. It is very helpful 😊
*has black brown hair* I guess smokey eyes are my bedroom eyes?
Careful with HG if your skin is already upset. Most of their powders have bismuth oxychloride, an irritant. Their palettes were my go to forever, especially traveling but no more. 😭 Since kicking that ingredient out of my makeup my skin is SO much better.
I know this is off-topic, but I bought 4 kaja bento boxes because of you, there on sale for 30% off right now
I really think you’d like the new Saie foundation. It’s my new fave. 👍🏻
i'm going to forget the details but there is something specific and unique (in a literal formulaic way) about the surratt eyeshadows (maybe all powders, but i forget). if i remember correctly the process has a french name and has to do with how the powders are blended before they are pressed, or something to that extent. worth looking into as one of the main focuses of the brand is innovation.
They're so PRETTYYYYY that makes sense
I've heard it described something like a slurry that's dried and powdered? Agree - they're gorgeous! I swatched one randomly as I was leaving a store and instantly was hooked 😊
@@karentingay1966 yes exactly this sounds right...
I love the foundation and the cream blush. I put 3 drops of foundation on my brush and spread it on my face. I take the blush with my fingers straigjt from the sponge rub them together and to my cheaks. easy
I use shade 08 for reference
PLEASE review the khaki Prismatique Eyes (mesmer eyes)
Please review the mascara? You are the queen of tubing mascara after all..
I absolutely adore Tom! I need to know though, when they asked in their last vid if you were "skin twins"... Are you? 👀💜
Maybe you can’t see it,but your makeup look IS pretty special 🎉 so……… enjoy it with 💯 confidence
As you said, pricey pricey! 😮
