YES PLEASE. more videos like this. it helps to hear the rationale of your thought process as you put makeup on your face - i think these are the kinds of tips [especially color theory, from one art nerd to another] that will take a makeup look from 'this looks good' to 'godDANG this looks professional'.
Yes! Especially color theory! I tried using her interactive undertone thingy, but then I realized I'm SO bad at color theory that I couldn't even tell what color makeup turns on me! Lol, idk if it's red orange or yellow. All I know is that colors skew very warm on me!
I love these tips!
My addition is: every time you're about to shower is an opportunity to play and experiment with your makeup. Put on a hair mask, and, while it's soaking, use that eyeshadow that never quite works. The risk is low because you're about to wash it off, but the reward is high. I've become so much more confident with different formulas and techniques. Good luck❤
I have learned so much about eyeshadow from Kackie. Makeup in my 30s is shaped by Jackie Aina's concealer technique, colors from HLP, eyeshadow from Kackie, and glitter/multichromes for my soul.
okay “micro mud” really made me laugh but is totally true. washing brushes is something i totally already knew but i really appreciate the reminder. it feels like something easy to just brush off as something to do tomorrow lol
Smaller brushes work better on you since you have smaller eyes, but the opposite is true for ppl with large eyes. *PLEASE DO MORE COLOR THEORY VIDEOS.* You are artmath queen.
this was so helpful for me! I was a basic liquid liner cat eye gal in my youth and can’t pull that off anymore (at least w my eyesight 😂) so I’ve been experimenting with eye shadow over the past year or so, noticing my looks aren’t coming out exactly as intended. going to try a bunch of these today - wish me luck
the most helpful tip i’ve learned in my years of doing makeup is seriously to use smaller brushes. i simply do not have the eye shape & size of makeup models or even most influencers so using brushes that work for them doesn’t work for me. it seems so obvious in hindsight but didn’t occur to me for years and it made the biggest difference in having control and precision in my looks
Yes please, more of this. I friggin’ LOVE this video. You are a natural teacher, Kackie. This one is bookmarked and I’m already planning to rewatch later with full attention. Thank you for your awesome work 🩵🩵🩵
🥹🥹🥹 a natural teacher???
The glasses! The turtleneck! What a beautiful and sexy combo. I’m so inspired to give it a try. Love your looks, always!
1) love the sexy 70s look, omg i usually don't care for aviators but you look fabulous! 2) Just want to thank you for all the eyeshadow tutelage. I finally understand shading and sculpting and apply art math more accurately. Between Robert Welsh & you especially, I have improved so much I even created several rainbow pride looks so I can make sure all the cute lady & enby & transmasc tourists (I work in cultural tourism) know I'm here and I'm queer lol. And the looks actually turned out *presentably.* Last night on a practice run (pastel matte abstract cloudy rainbow look) I almost convinced myself that UA-cam needed me to do tutorials (lol, no, no it does not). But thank you, srsly, it's fun to occasionally feel pretty and to feel confident in doing my makeup as sleek or as wildly ott as I want!
Oooh yes yes yes, to other videos like this one. It was interesting and you make it seem "simplier" than it is, by your well articulated explanations. Tips are always good to hear (and see in action on your face is a plus, to really understand things).
And I had to check what was on your lips bc it is beautiful. Picante looks gorgeous on you! Its warm but soft color make them look even fuller than usual. Love it
Oh my goodness, yes, please MORE videos like this! This was phenomenally good!
I would LOVE more videos on color theory. I need help with blush and lip colors for light neutral olive skin. Everything looks orange, pink, or just terribly out of place on my face. I often don't know what to even purchase and have gone through so many products over the years hoping they'll work. So much wasted money 😂
i always grab any brushes i need from the sephora collection when they’re like 30% off 😎 tbh they’re my faves
I'm now curious what your fav brush cleaners are: the deep cleaning as well as the light, in a hurry clean up products.
Also, love to see their use, and encourage folks to apply, blush, bronzer, & contour around their eyes. Also, getting the right size brushes for the real estate of one's lid/crease/brow/lashline really makes a diff. There's no one size fits all. Alas, aging has changed which brushes I use, and how I use them. My heavy hoods are even more droopy now, and the natural crepiness of my lids have given way to true wrinkles. Gotta adapt!
Thanks, Kackie!
And please do more of these type videos - loved it. We learn so much about makeup as we get older and our skin is changing. We are constantly needing to evolve. That’s if you want to stay looking amazing lol. It’s exciting and frustrating all at the same time - and always an excellent excuse to buy more makeup ❤❤
the brush shape demo...super helpful. I'm willing to bet you could do multiple videos on brushes alone. Color theory is always fun!!!
This is soooo helpful. I already use 10,000 brushes when I do my eyes but am more mindful about using the correct ones rather than just using a clean one. Color theory (beginners that like color, print out the color wheel to help with blending) and blending with bronzer is a GAME CHANGER. Ty Kackie!
Honestly I clicked on this video because I missed your voice. I enjoy your ramblings. But I really enjoyed this. Also you reminded me to go clean my brushes.
Yes please! Especially more about color theory 💜!
yes more tips please! im in my 30s and only put on makeup veryyy rarely so i never really learned what the heck to do, so this was super helpful!
Thank you for the tips. Personally, I think it's nice when a video is about how to make better use of products that you already own. Please more tips! 😊
Loved this! Thanks -- tips are great! Would love more Art Math videos too!
Such great tips!! This is the kind of stuff I’m looking for!! Thank you!
I needed this… thanks🎉🎉🎉
Super helpful content! Thanks, Kackie!
Awesome video and very helpful. I love stuff like this!!
Yes to this whole video. Thank you!
I honestly don’t understand why most standard blending brushes are so large! This is something I’ve learned during my makeup journey. I maybe have a slight hooded ness to my eyes, so I don’t NEED these brushes, but I sure do love a smaller, more detailed blender. Why are they harder to find?? Everyone wants them. Rephr and sigma has them. Lots of brands do, but you have to search. I love a natural haired brush. Just wish more brands would make smaller brushes a standard. Finding really detailed and interesting brushes is one of my favorite things to do. Just secured the new Alex Anele prototype from rephr. Can’t believe it was free with purchase and that there were only 500. I can’t wait to be a part of that journey and to get the official brush as well. Super, super excited. Fantastic video. Sorry for the rambling comment ❤
This video was so well done! Thank you Kackie! 🤎🖤
Your makeup is outstanding today--truly beautiful.
I love the color theory tips!
I love adding a bit of blush to my eyes! Thanks for including that tip!
Kackie!!! YES! This was the exact type of video that I’m looking for. Thank you thank you thank you! Hugely a game changer. Love it!!❤❤❤❤
Would love more of this!
Sharing this! Such a helpful reference video for beginners!
Love this video! I have been incorporating a lot of your tricks (based on watching your other videos) like bronzer or blush in the eye look and I love it! That slight color change is so pretty.
This was so incredibly helpful!
Love the color theory and other tips!
I’d love more like this please ❤❤❤
Well, I do know a lot about makeup, but I did learn new things watching this! Thank you, Kackie!
This was super helpful! Love the tip of using a touch of blush/bronzer in the eye look. Thank you, Kackie!
Omg! Micro mud! Love that description!!
Fabulous Kackie - yes, would love to see more of these videos, especially as you have more of an artists perspective to balance. I always use the blush last to finish the eyes, then step back and think wow - that just all came together...so more of that sort of micro tweaking would be wonderful.
I really enjoyed this. Much different and informative on the details of makeup application. Yes more! Thanks!❤
So helpful - thank you!
Yes please, more videos like this. I really learned a lot with how you explained color theory. So often, that’s what can result in my makeup look wonky.
I love the tips that you had this will help me figure out. Why my end result is not what I was expecting.
I LOVED this type of video. I really admire how you turn your daily makeup into a work of art. I aspire to be able to manipulate color stories on my face like you do, and to be able to be creative yet wearable with intricate looks! Lots of love!
Really appreciate what you have to say about brushes!
Yes to more videos like this. Also your hair looks cute like this.
These tips are 🔥 🔥 🔥 I’ve used the last blush tip so many times and am excited to try the mixing dark mattes that I’m afraid of with satin textures. As always, thanks for great content! I personally would love more color theory content 🤓
you and hannah are all I watch
also okayyyy sound effects!! really ups the perceived chaos
I've been doing the bronzer trick for years (but usually had to purchase a darker powder because I couldn't find the right bronzer until VBB) and it's the best!
Thank you. Great video 😊
This was a great one! Thank you!! It's one thing to watch a person (usually you!) put on makeup, but it's another thing all together to have the process mapped out in such a clear way. Appreciate this! 🙌
So glad your eye has healed! 💫
I was wondering if it might be related to your nails. Sometimes faux nails can cause eye dermatitis. I imagine that includes nail polish formulas, but I have not looked into that.
I have used the “same color” trick with my cheeks & eyes when I don't have time and want a minimal look. Love that you share color theory.
✨TY for sharing!✨
Love this video. Would appreciate more color theory videos with demo. I've watched this several time and will likely watch it several more.
You always do a beautiful job with your makeup but it was ✨ STUNNING ✨ today!!!
🥲🥲 thank you!!
Yes love this so much!! But I love everything you put out hahahhaa! Thanks Kackie! ❤
Definitely find tips videos helpful. 👍👍
Love my purple rain brush set from Prados, I picked it because it has some shapes that are very tapered, good for precision and deep eye sockets like mine!
Please do this whole look tutorial. It’s absolutely stunning and you look just gorgeous!!
This video🔥More please learning so much. Thank you
Great tips!
Love you Kackie A month late watching but YES more color theory. This one got added to my very short save to watch again later list.
For years through my corporate America journey, I used that 3 rectangle tarte pro to go something or other for face and eye looks - every day. Every single day. Then I become more interested in creativity, but hey, it worked!
This made me want to do my eye makeup for the first time in months. Best tips I have seen all in one video
AWWW ❤
Thank you so much for this
More videos like this please
Great video ❤ thank you x
I love that new Ana Luisa ring!! The blue one is gorgeous too
I know! It was tough to decide.
Great video 🤩
Loved this video! More of it please!! :)
I love your top 🧡🧡
Love love loved this video. 👏🌟🤗🌷🌸🌺🌹🌼 stay well and happy💖
Yes, yes! More please.
This was quite helpful :)
I have very deep setted eyes I would love you to do a step to step video of making them look larger. Thanks
Hey kackie, what nail polish are you wearing? Its so pretty
This was a great video. It kills me to throw out my old eyeshadow palletes.. especially since i bought so many...but it is time😢
The other day, my husband asked if I had put more blush on one side of my face. I looked in the mirror...it was 100% muddiness from using a brush that had some other old color on it. 🤦♀️
Soo grateful you made this video!!! my biggest issue is that I luvv warm tones on my eyes but cool tones on my face & lips so I end up looking a mess hahaha
What color is on your nails?!
I use my fluffy blending brush for everything 😂 it’s less intimidating
ART MATH! I love info-based videos. And my Art Math hat!
You look phenom
Just wanted to say you look pretty 🤍
This is great content. While I always appreciate your humility, it would be ill-conceived (counterproductive?) to disregard the experience of anyone who does this for a living just because she’s not Hindash or Eldridge. In fact, being relatable is your superpower and it sometimes carries even more weight. Say it with humility if you feel like it’s important to make the distinction but you deserve to believe that you are special. I mean, ow long have you been doing it already? I’ve done what I do for thirty years and have no problems telling my clients that I don’t know what’s wrong with my patients whenever I’m stumped (often)-and would never claim guru status!-but there are times when it’s perfectly appropriate to thrown down the experience card decisively. It’s not nothing and you deserve the respect when you’ve obviously earned it. :-)
Where’s your eyeglasses from?♥️
You know, I had the hardest time with makeup other than very basic looks until I realized it was literally painting on my face and that colour theory and temp and angles and shadows apply 1:1 as a 3d canvas 😅😅 took an embarrassingly long time for that to kick in (I’m 41!)
❤❤❤❤❤Brilliant!❤❤❤❤❤
This is random, but I just finished watching The Ultimatum: Queer Love and there is a woman named Vanessa who I kept thinking looks like you! Not as much in pictures, but something about her expressions when she talks
Give us more
What is your nail color??
The first tip totally calls out beginner me. Add laziness to a lack of brushes and hooded eyes and you have a hazy mess.
❤
PS you look stunning!
♥
❤❤❤❤❤
This may sound so corny, but what about doing an Aries themed makeup look/tutorial?!🤷🏻♀️
👍👍👍
