My husband and I waited nearly 4 years for our annulments . During this time we lived as brother and sister, in separate rooms. At no time during this wait could we have asked for a blessing, and rightly so, because of the irregularity of our situation. Why will these couples be given such a pass ?

Wow you re-stated what I have been warning priests about on the interned that support this. Most Priests and bishops in the catholic church are not holy and have no relationship with Jesus or the Blessed Mother. If they did they would cringe at this idea of homosexual blessings. The reason this is happening is because there is a clic in the catholic church that is made up of homosexual priests and bishops. It is just like the pagan times in the old testament. It does not go against the teachings of the Bible. He isn't blessing them in the sacrament of marriage. He is not addressing them as if they are men or women. In the Bible it all has to do with sexual promiscuity has nothing to do with love nor has it does relationships so that doesn't count. The blessing has to do with the people not the sin. And we don't even know if there's a sin involved to even add that as in the conclusion of what the Pope is actually doing.

Blessing are also imparted at every communion line, even if the person is not taking the Eucharist. There was no need to have a special document, if the person merely wanted a blessing. The gay activists have their way now. Blessing of same sex and irregular couples is now an official Vatican stance, w/ its own wordy and convoluted document. It doesn't quite bless the union, yet. It does say explicitly that priests can bless the couple.

I keep hearing people want to make this shock about homosexuality. There would be as much shock if the pope decided to bless adulterous unions, or anything else we know the faith teaches is sin and the Bible explicitly states as sin. It’s not really about homosexuality as it is about going against what God’s Word says. No pope can do that. No pope is higher than God’s Word. THAT is what this shock is about.

The church's/clergy/spiritual Father's responsibility is to bring the sinner to repentance. When Jesus sat with sinners He did NOT tag along with their agenda, rather, they got on His agenda, namely, the Kingdom of God.

I doubt gay marriage will ever be recognized by the Catholic Church. However, unless the church modernizes its archaic beliefs on issues like sexuality, the younger generations aren’t going to go to church and those pews are going to be empty.
Holiness is what we strive for as Christians. God's Word is clear! Men with men / woman with woman is contrary to God's Word. My sincere prayers go out to the gay community. Their lifestyle is contrary to holiness. The remnant of God's church is being refined. It's not about numbers it's about faithfulness. As Satan confuses the world the church will continue. Sift out those who are conforming to the culture and strengthen those who are determined to stay the course. Peace!

So glad I decided to watch this video! I’m Protestant but I agree with Archbishop Vigano and Gerhart Mueller that to “bless” same sex couples is to bring confusion and to trivialize sin. I love the Word of God and yes I agree that this (blessing same sex couples) goes against the gospel message and the Bible.

It looks like people are picking sides, as Revelation says hot or cold. Revelation also says, Come out of her my people. Could this, "Come out of her, my people" be referring to the Church which pope Francis has hijacked?

Ask the priest directly if they support it. If you don't get a clear response you might not have found a good shepherd to lead you. There will be a lot of good priests who won't fall for this nonsense. Which part of the world are you in? There are more traditional communities around which are islands of sanity.

A priest would not give us a Catholic wedding because we were still in the process of getting government paperwork in order. This was the excuse we were given, of course, there were other political issues involved too. But…now this same priest can bless a gay marriage. Unbelievable!!
You’re comparing two very different scenarios Tim. You were asking for a wedding. The gay couples can only get a simple blessing. It must not be part of a church service. @@carolyncouch4094 I don't see where he goes astray other than causing confusion. He spoke about blessings in catechisis on prayer, comparing it to praying for a prisoner. The idea is that the prisoner would be strengthened in Christ despite her crimes.
He never said blessing the two Catholics were akin to a marriage. God would have blessed the couple either way insofar as scripture says God knows the heart. But with the Pope, all I see is confusion. He did nothing at all that would make me question his personal salvation and relationship with the sacraments. There's more wrong with the Catholics who respond to this than the Pope confusing people of blessing that they are strong in Christ not their union with each other.
