As if anyone actually cares when straight unmarried couples have pre-marital sex. Catholics have some of the highest birth rates out there, and they're notorious for "starting early", if you know what I mean. Half of my Catholic family members conceived at least one baby out of wedlock. It's like it's a Catholic tradition or something. The difference is when a Catholic, straight couple has a baby out of wedlock, all they have to do is commit to receiving the sacrament of "Holy Matrimony" and then they're back in God's good graces again. Doctrinally, gay people of faith don't have that option. They're not even offered a remotely fair equivalent. Regardless of the guidelines outlined in the document it specifies that a same sex couple can request a blessing. What's deceiving is on one hand saying, "we cant bless the sin," yet the sin exists because of the couple. So how do you allow the COUPLE to request a blessing? Let it be the individual. Why specify couple? It doesnt make sense. If I rob a bank with an accomplice can we request a blessing as partners in crime? It just seems like they are deceiving us with semantics and being slick with words. Anyone who has to do these gymnastics with words is up to something imo. It is sinful for a straight unmarried couple to be in a sexual relationship, but a same sex couple gets a blessing?
As if anyone actually cares when straight unmarried couples have pre-marital sex. Catholics have some of the highest birth rates out there, and they're notorious for "starting early", if you know what I mean. Half of my Catholic family members conceived at least one baby out of wedlock. It's like it's a Catholic tradition or something.
The difference is when a Catholic, straight couple has a baby out of wedlock, all they have to do is commit to receiving the sacrament of "Holy Matrimony" and then they're back in God's good graces again. Doctrinally, gay people of faith don't have that option. They're not even offered a remotely fair equivalent. Their "option" is to either "choose" to be celibate for life, never experience physical or emotional intimacy with another person, never even entertain the thought of falling in love with someone they're attracted to because all gay romantic love is labeled as "lust"... Or burn in hell forever. How is that not a blatant double standard?
