I do and don't understand why the Retaliator has NO pilot controlled guns. A beautiful ship dependent upon ppl coordinating in real life (which can be like herding cats) in order to use in game otherwise you're unable to defend yourself solo.
I recall a content creator saying of the Cutty Black: if you don't have someone in the back on that turret, you're doing it wrong.
As a result I never plan to fly or own a Cutty Black as I have other options I prefer that do not require another live human being and their time to optimize their usefulness.
Apologies for the rant. Thanks as always for the content and your perspectives @Marcus Wynn! 🫡

Yeah no pilot controlled weapons make it pretty useless

I like this ship for super quick erts. Drop the target and keep it pushin.
Side note: I like that they got rid of that huge MFD right in front of the pilot.

I suppose I was referring to the bomber variant and would mix the bomb/cargo modules. Those torps (and its hull hp) are the ONLY reason to use this ship.

I was asking the question "why put a cargo module on this?" A small part of me has begun to wonder If the whole purpose of the cargo variant was to carry empty boxes for looting bunkers or something, but that even feels kind of dumb ngl. Pretty hype to see us get modularity though, Even if the step feels tangibly pointless it's going to make things like the galaxy or Apollo possible

Did you happen to get in the front chin turret? There is almost no visibility. And why the hell do you need to use development resources on a cargo variant? (Other than the need the sales) I guess check the box "Hey look at us, we've done some modularity!" Lately, as a mostly solo player, it seems I'm being funneled into specific play styles.

They are about to ruin the solo player experience

Understand, though, that this isn’t about a “cargo” tali. This pushes forward those ships that will use the modularity tech across the game.

@StatikXero the cat, c2, hull c, all have pilot controlled weapons who gives a shit about the tech? Give us something useful in the game

The cats modularity doesn’t work yet and the hull c exists because of the work on the tali. Not sure how the c2 factors in.
I get what you are saying but I would argue that this is more useful than master modes (and a few other things) which nobody asked for.
I’m really lookin forward to the endeavor and modularity gets me that much closer.

@StatikXero I’m making the point that the other ships are soloable for more players because you don’t need a turret gunner and it looks like it can’t carry enough cargo to compete with the other haulers anyway modularity makes no sense unless you were switching out weapons types for the pilot to control
