December 31, 2019 (8 hours before the new year will begin) and still listing to one of America's greatest southern rock(jazz, rock, folk and all other forms of music) bands of all time!! :)
The best band to come out of South Carolina. I got to see them in Houston TX at Jefferson Stadium in 1976 with The Dobbie Brothers. Awesome concert . My buddy Craig and I just moved from MO. He moved to Reno. I made a detour to the mountains of Arkansas and then back home. Alot of memories , a wife,, son, a grandson and three 🐕s over the time. Buck Wheat, Too Tone and now Jazz. Life has been good.
I lost a brother in a car wreck back in the mid 80's. This was one of his favorite bands if not his favorite. I must say this Album is in my personal top 10. I also play bass guitar and Tommy is missed along with Toy they both were like you knew them from their music. Saw them in Nashville back in the late 70's. Great show. "Together Forever."
I literally pictured my ex brother in law. this song reminds me of him so much. my silly sister took him for everything he was worth and he gave it all with both hands. but then one day - when she refused to let him see their son anymore - that's exactly what he said.... he even had the horse, named him Dan. He looked like one of those duck dynasty guys on a horse, riding through town every chance he got. and my dad couldn't stand it - they had way too much in common, veterans, loved horses and cowboy lifestyle, working and building... the only difference was my brother in law wasn't the cheater or the one calling for divorce. my sister got that from our dad. then one day he found he had a better opportunity out west. lives in Texas with a new woman and her son. his son finally reconnected with him. it just took a few years.... which is what i told him what would happen every time we talked. he may have been my sister's ex but he'll always be my brother. i actually miss him more than her and kinda wish he'd move back home so we could hang out again!
Next day had to walk back..rough neiborhood.. and I drank some whiskey and went back. But I sang this song to myself the whole way. My girlfriend tripped on me and her friend
Tommy is singing lead on this. Toy sang lead on Can't you see. Doug sang lead on most of their radio hits. But if you listen to their albums, you'll hear Toy quite a bit
This whole album is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED 🤘🤘🤘
The Marshall Tucker Band was a greatness of the 1970's, saw then with the Dead, New Riders, go figure?
I just turned 65 and the memories of being a teenager going to see them live... sigh. Southern Rock at its finest. ❤
Just bought it on vinyl and I was amazed man!
Great band, great song and in my opinion they never received the recognition they deserved
Peace
That Album just might be their best ever. Jazz fusion Sothern fried rock. !!! 😎👍
Happiest sounding sad song ever recorded. Love it.
Not the first time this cowboy has been alone!
I feel my world has gotten smaller without this band around. But that's how it works in the time stream.
i was luckey to have seen them in 77 man they had it together
One of the Best fucking jams !! They recorded this on the 1st take I read. Vocals added later. Can u imagine the energy in the studio that day.??!!

I've been a fool but a bigger fool I can't remember when.' I loved this song!
Love this song..musically one of the finest...violin, then piano, then guitar, finally flute- everyone gets to show their mastery!

Seen Marshall Tucker band many times and never gets old.
I could just see an old cowboy on a horse, saying fk this. I'm gone, I will miss you, but there is greener Grass on the other side.

Good ole land back music.......
The Caldwell parents had three boys and buried them all, God that's so tragic !
cause as soon as I kiss the lips of another woman.....well I am gonna forget all about you....THATS RIGHT BABY!
so funny, as i read your comment he started singing those lyrics at the same time
So fucking sweet
Such a killer album. Second side kills me.
First side doesn't heart the ears.
Next day had to walk back..rough neiborhood.. and I drank some whiskey and went back. But I sang this song to myself the whole way. My girlfriend tripped on me and her friend
Work a week , make a hundred dollars, times were good !
I believe this the only version Toy sang. All others seemed to be sung by Doug. Interesting.
not a 100% sure but I think you got that backwards = Toy sang on a bunch songs his brother the bass player i think only sang lead on this one song
If that's true it's even more interesting. I'll have to research it.
Interesting but it's just an amazingly well put together song with a great band and I love it to death.
Tommy is singing lead on this.
Toy sang lead on Can't you see.
Doug sang lead on most of their radio hits.
But if you listen to their albums, you'll hear Toy quite a bit
Toy is singing lead .Not Tommy.

Toy Caldwell sings lead vocals on this track.
This is deluxe honkey-tonk
One time..lol I got drunk and seeking drugs. Drove downtown. Police were hot. Parked. Walked home.

Toy sings this 10Xs better than Doug. He just sings it.
