No matter the most extreme extents of deep Windows customisation I delve, it doesn’t look or feel half as good as stock iOS does and almost always gives me incompatibility and performance issues.
At the moment, my ideal plan of action would be keeping my current PC, using it for gaming and a storage/streaming hub between all my devices and any other specific odd times when its graphical performance and 32gb of memory are required/preferred, but then spending the rest of my time on an M1 MacBook Air in conjunction with my iPad Mini 6. Something that oddly enough is more prevalent in the Apple/Mac ecosystem. The quality of the paid/subscription apps is sometimes higher than free/open-source apps available for Windows/Linux, but very often they are not and ask prices that (to me) are ridiculous for what they offer. I guess the economics make sense for those developers, but that also means that the Mac user demographic likely keeps this situation intact as enough people are apparently willing to pay too much for very little functionality.
Which makes me grateful for videos like this that show that there are indeed free apps out there that are awesome.

    - fluor, which allows to bypass the FN keys (volume, etc.), for a specific program only. great when using software that uses FN keys for shortcuts, but when wanting to use the keys as intended otherwise (hope i explained this well enough)

You also caught me at a time when I just discovered some goodies in System Preferences > Accessibility, so here are a couple for your next video:
    - You can keep all proxy icons (now "title icons") visible always by checking Accessibility > Display > Display > Show window title icons.
    - If you have multiple monitors, you can keep one screen as a permanently zoomed view of the other(s) by choosing Accessibiity > Zoom > Zoom style > Full screen, then clicking Choose Display…
    - You can get back all the Classic - and international - speech voices in Accessibility > Spoken Content > System Voice: > Customize…
    - Keyboard warriors can control everything with clickety-clackety keys by turning on Accessibility > Keyboard > Enable Full Keyboard Access.
    - You can create custom button bars that control window features, run AppleScripts, press keys, run Shortcuts, and do all sorts of other things by visiting Accessibility > Keyboard > Viewer > Panel Editor and creating a new panel using the GUI there. Save the panel, then bring up the keyboard viewer, click the "…” in the top-right corner, then Custom Panels… > (whatever you called your panel).
    - You can make spring-loaded folders open faster in Accessibility > Pointer Control > Mouse & Trackpad > Spring-Loading delay

@@neekster28 I might have to check it out, floating notes is just a small floating note you can copy and paste that is just there with like 4 colour options and it's very basic, but done well. Do you have a link to Notion?

Something like Hidden Bar should also be integrated into MacOS (perhaps a wee bit more compact).

Although not free, Sindre Sorhus, the creator of the Velja and One Thing apps shown in this video, also has an app called Dato. It integrates calendar and is able to notify you of upcoming events, join Zoom/Teams/Meet meetings with a single click (no web browser needed) and shows any upcoming event in the menu bar.
Been using it for a year now and it's indispensible for me. Highly recommended!
