I think everyone thought that - after all, the speculation was between Gen5 stuff or Gen2 stuff, but a curveball is always welcomed! Z-A could be a very good one!
The Type Gems in Gen 5 could maybe be a prototype for Terastallization, if you stretch the theory more. In a way, they were kinda the first generational gimmick, since all Pokemon could use them and they boosted that moves damage and then they were nerfed and all but the Normal Gem was removed in Gen 6. Gems that boost types moves a single time does sound similar to a Tera boost or a Z Crystal in a way. Maybe they were a prototype idea for them.
In terms of lore, the Gems are crystals and those could be terastal ones (or some kind of Tera shards, those also have a type associated), but they don't have enough energy to fully bring the terastal phenomenon but still get some effect from them (the same STAB boost benefit)
the connections between the unova + paldea map specifically as you mentioned the Entralink and Area Zero are uncanny. from each of it's lore and designs there is definitely a similarity there. not to mention all of the subtle and not-so-subtle gen 5 references throughout paldea...would be great to have an official tie in in the future
I really need a Unova remake called "Pitch Black and Stark White" with an "Episode Grey" as an unique postgame. It would link BW and B2W2 events in a new way. Instead of Driftveil's PWT you now get Champion Defense Titles. These being from characters like Cheren, Iris, Hugh, Benga, Marlon, Roxie, etc. Imagine a second Kyurem meteor. This one falling in Entralink as the OG Dragon, making Hidden Grottos the new Tera Raid dens w/ Elemental Gems.
I think that would be a good way to touch Gen5 since it's such a weird gen to remake because of the sequels. A re-telling would surely fix it! Hidden Grottos as Tera Raid dens is too perfect not to happen!
@@notsoAceTrainer Make Hugh the new Zinnia since this would be similar to the Delta Episode of ORAS and therefore make Southwest Unova and Northeast Unova as new "open-zones". Call it the Ivory Woodlands (Aspertia, Floccesy and Virbank) and the Ebony Coastlands (Lentimas, Humilau and a brand-new location - probably Vertress, the city of the League in the anime). Also, we need more Dive spots besides Abyssal Ruins. Have a Kalos character in Liberty Garden because of Victini. And a young Lacey as the Unova Fairy Trainer (a nod to Alola's Mina in LGPE). Ideally I would like a 4th elemental monkey (do no evil) as the Meltan/Melmetal equivalent and a 5th musketeer being Fire Type, inspired by the Cardinal who was the villain of the musketeers. We have Enamorus... and Fire is the last Chinese element to depict (perfect for the burning/arson of Icirrus Moor). Heck, make a 5th Ruinous Treasure be Dark/Steel connected with Corless.
that won't happen. The Unova remake will be faithful remakes of Pokemon Black and White with modern quality of life improvements. It likely include Kyurem and Keldeo's forms in it since they included the forms of rotom and giratina for the sinnoh remakes. There is no need for an episode as the post game of Unova was decent enough as it is. Original Dragon won't appear in the franchise.
I kina feel like N being the Zinnia would fit better (the one that holds the key to the lore and leads us to the OG Dragon), but Colress NEEDS to be the villain in a game again! The main villain! He's trying to find the true strength of Pokémon and ever since then we have Pokémon gimmicks (kinda getting closer to the true strength of Pokémon, maybe). There's a lot that can be done with what Gen5 started and now that they're connecting regions more and more, it could really be an awesome game!
I don't think they planned for it (it's too much in advance, even for them), but I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually see both connected (especially with possible Unova games in the future)!
Suring the encounter with the professor in Kitakami he says he is trying to "bring pokemon for other timelines*, not from the past/future like the IA prof says, maybe even the paradox pokemon are just like the galarian birds, looks like but totally diferent species, heck even in this gen they give called it convergent species or something.
I know, but that's a different canon... can't really use it for game theories! 😅 I'm very interested to see where they're going with it in the anime though!
I never saw Paldea connected to past regions. Much like Galar having no connection to past regions. Seeing no cameos in either region pretty much makes these regions truly separate from past regions. Alola was the last region to have some kind of connection with another region with Kanto. My opinion of course.
Alola also has connections to Unova with Grimsley and Colress cameos, Sinnoh with a Cynthia cameo, Hoenn with Annabelle, and Kalos with Sina and Dexio. Also, it's revealed that Penny is a second daughter of Peony from the Crown Tundra, and Peonia's sister. So Paldea is at least connected to Galar there. Plus, well, the entire premise of the indigo disk, I mean, there's plenty of connections to Unova, just unfortunately no actual on-screen cameos in either Galar or Paldea, including all DLC's, of any past characters.
There's a lot of examples against that - Paldea is clearly connected to the Land of Kitakami through Tera Energy, which is a, or part of a, different region. It is also connected to Unova through the plot of the Indigo Disk. There's also mentions of the plot of the Crown Tundra (establishing a timeline of sorts, with ScaVi coming after SwSh and the DLC) and also the plot of PLA. We can't also forget Penny, from Galar, the daughter of Peony and sister of Peonia. In PLA you had a clear connection to the future of the Pokémon World, something shown with the ancestors of many different characters from many different parts of the Pokémon world. Plus, the clear connection to Galar with the Galaxy Team and probably the Lake of Rage with Beni and Kamado mentioning their hometown being destroyed by a rampaging Pokémon and them having a more "japanese" inspiration. In BDSP the game starts with a report from the Lake of Rage in Johto. You also have Jasmine showing up in Sunyshore, as well as Prof. Oak. There are also mentions to many other regions. It's more of a mention thing here, though, not a direct connection, you could argue. In SwSh, I believe we didn't have a lot. I remember something related to Lumiose, but it might have been just an item. There's also a connection to Alola, or the Ultra Space, with the Ultra Beasts showing up and invading the Dynamax Adventures. Let's GO has Mina connecting it to Gen57. In Gen7, we have the clear connection to Kanto with we being from there and also Red and Blue. We have Colress, Cynthia, Anabel, Grimsley, Dexio, Sina and Wally. There's a whole bunch of stuff I've missed, most likely!
@@jvbon646 as weak as she is, Diantha isn't related here specifically since she's the KALOS champion. I was purly talking about another Unova-Paldea connection

All these connections between Unova and Paldea are literally why I thought there would be gen 5 remakes this year! Isn't that strange?

There's a lot of questions!
I mean we also have Kalos literally up in the northeast corner of the map just waiting to be unlocked...
Yeha, but that doesn't really hit with the concept of the video 😅 Unless there's Tera energy in Kalos!

We're probably gonna have ScaVi for a while so it's possible!
they are also connected with having weak champions in Alder and Geeta
Wierd way of spelling Diantha and Geeta, but ok
