If you’re struggling with the bloodhound, you can always go into the mistwood ruins until you hear howling, then warp to kale and speak to him, and then use the emote back at the mistwood. Doing this unlocks an NPC summon for that fight(and also gives you a somber smithing stone as well I believe)

I've done similar routes for the early game a lot, all homebrewed, but I almost always just grab the whetstone in gatefront ruins, kill the blood knight in fort haight, then just use that ash to bleed the big dragon. I go out of my way to pick up the spiked caestus from the merchant in dragonbarrow then use that plus the blood grease to kill the big dragon. I’ve found the spiked caestus the best weapon available, as it’s dual wielded and uses less stamina than an uchigatana or bloodhound fang.
i always grab the mourning star in weeping peninsula then kill the scarab in front of the margit grace for wild strikes. You can still apply bleed with it when you use it without any FP. Wild strikes also trivialises any NPC fights like the roundtable invader as they just end up stunlocked and get bled out.

Just followed this guide today to access the dlc at level 1. Followed everything (almost) to get all the materials and get to mohg. First part of the strat went clean but botched the second. I panicked into r1 + l2. I staggered him bled him but of course he Nihiled and at that moment i was out of stamina and mohg pulled out the slow flame talons into a jump and through this I somehow survived and staggered him to win! Its thanks to you that i got this far. 3rd try compared to a fully developed build of mine that took 50! Thank you so much.
I finally did it! I must have slow reflexes or maybe just the adrenaline kept getting to me and giving me brain fog, but it took like 50 plus tries to pull off the Mohg strat successfully, but I did it on RL1. The main thing was just the spacing, because the unique move set of the Bloodhound Fang keeps jumping you all over the place and all these moves have to be placed exactly at the right spot at the right time in order to work. Particularly I kept missing the crit because he would stagger but by the time I completed the automated jump back, then the follow-up jump forward, then the step forward to crit, he would already have recovered and started his Nihil sequence, and then it was over because he'd regain all his health and kill me. Anyway with enough practice it's doable.

@@SoulObsessionGames @SoulObsessionGames Do you think you could also make a full guide on how to get all the smithing stones bell bearings in a similarily efficient manner? I think this can be helpful since there are so many DLC weapons that people want to upgrade for a new playthrough but its just such a drag having to remember where they all are over again. I think your format like with this video is really thorough and enjoyable that I think it would be super cool if you did that for something else as well!
beautiful work mate, never killed radahn so quick, first try using the strat. mohg took a few tries to get that stagger timing right, but worked awesome. i only upgraded my BHF to +9 and i was wearing the white mask and had no issues.
Excellent guide and narration is clear and concise without any stupid jargon. Well done. One tip; When you drop down that spiritspring after the dragon, you should use it to jump up on that large rock to your right. It has multiple smithing stones on top.
Hello, absolute excellent guide. Actually the best i‘ve ever seen. As a souls vet i know nearly every item in the game, but i wanted to check if my route is outdated. I‘m just telling this, to understand that in the first seconds i thought „oh man not another guide for absolute idiots and every tiny piece is show‘n“. But i was so wrong, yes it is so simple that even idiots can easy follow, but on the other hand if i hadn’t my knowledge and wanted a guide to show my every important step, explaining certain thing in as short as it needs to understand, showing every step before on map… If I would look for this guide than this is the G.O.A.T. guide. Really - exellent work. i tweaked my route and even learned something here and there plus pne really important knowledge. I didn’t knew that you have to wait for the circles to appear at Mohg. I was wondering so often why he isn’t staggering. Keep motivated Umbasa
This is an amazing guide and the Mogh strat is something I just learned thanks to the video. A quick tip for everyone is that: when you're killing Greyoll near Fort Farroth, when he's at very low health, jump on the horse, use the gold pickled foot and melee on horse for the bleed proc. You then sprint to the grace, you get the runes from the dragons plus they respawn if you're fast enough. With the timer on the pickled foot, you can maybe do it once or twice again depending on how fast you proc bleed. This will make the entire run easier. Unless the extra levels somehow affect Mogh's strategy, but you could just level up other stats and respec for the DLC with Rennala.
Thanks for watching and the suggestion! The str and dex levels do affect the Mohg strategy, but you could always lose one or both of the physicks to compensate.
Thanks for this excelent guide, I already finished the regular game 4 times and finished the DLC once, but missed some weapons and some quests. With your guide just killed Mohg and ready to start the DLC one more time. NG+5 here we go!
Awesome guide! I used it to get to the DLC with the Vagabond class without levelling up. Wanted to make a Rellana build from scratch. I just upgraded the Bloodhound’s Fang to +9 to not spend a Somber Ancient Dragon Stone, but it worked wonders with some adjustments and the Blue Dancer Charm. Thanks a lot!
Love the narration and your choices of music! It’s raining outside as I watch this as well, for maximum relaxation effect. 😌 Thank you for putting so much work into being thorough and informative! I’m planning some new DLC characters, this will be really useful.
Amazing method. Tried it today and it's not only reliable, it's really satisfying to pull off! I'm currently on a challenge where I try to beat the game with every weapon, in alphabetical order, starting with a fresh character each run. I can see myself using this to get to the DLC weapons 99% of the time 😅
Liked and subscribed. This right here, is high quality content. Quick and precise and really does a good job to guide you to where you need to go. Would be nice to have another one with other starting classes that min-max to certain builds. Kinda redundant since it'll just be a difference of a few points of stats here and there but it'd help us non-samurai a ton.
Thanks for the encouragement! And that's a good point, not everyone wants to start with the samurai. I'll try to at least add how to adjust for other starting classes in the text document.
This is a great guide to not only show players how to get into the DLC easily, but how to get a strong character early if they want to as well. The only change I would go with would be going to the Church of Inhibition for the Lord of Blood's favor since you get a Sacred Tear as well. Players can just run past Vyke, light the grace and die next to it if he's too much of a challenge as well. It would add a few extra minutes, but I would say well worth the time since players will likely want to go there anyways for the Sacred Tear.
Such a useful video and much better than what I usually do to "speedrun" my way to my desired build levels. The breakdown at the end helped me understand where I was goofing up on Mohg. I was using charged heavies by mistake. Got it the very next try after reviewing that part. Also ran out of grease, so used Bloodflame Blade and it worked out, though I did have to give him one more ligh attack just before he got off the first cast of his phase transition.
Wonderful guide saw the two other guides about tanky and op too i may have 100's of hours in elden ring but your way is definitely helping quicken the process this automatically earns a sub from me
If you’re having trouble getting the stagger, wait until mohg’s “duo” animation is completely done before using your AoW, I was doing it too early and screwing it up
Thanks for the great guide man! I have over 200h+ hours on ER, it's my fav game, but I was very stressed at the DLC because of the NG+7 dificulty and your video encouraged me to do a new game file. I took more hours than you but I wanna have a more smooth experience. Anyway, great job, earned a sub!
So, I was doing this for 5 times in a row now. Just a few thoughts. I always start as Vagabond. End result (since 2 more str) = 740 AR which works perfectly fine. I achieve the kill (while also preparing quests I might be interested in) in exactly 2 hours. As for mogh, two hints - even though the video makes it clear, but I wasnt able to realize: 1. regenerate your stamina between your "combos" (shackle, r1 r1 r1 r2 > regenerate) 2. after the second "combo" just let him finish ONE animation and AoW right after. (too early/too late = no stagger) #2 was the reason for a few failed attempts at the beginning. Also thanks @Soul Obsession. Great video.
I don't even need the guide part it's just pleasant to listen to, thank you for such a chill in-depth guide that I am positive has helped a great many people
Great guide especially the Mohg strat! After the radahn fight you can also kill Alexander then to get the 10 percent version of the shard of Alexander if you feel you need more damage for the tree sentinel. Also if you are struggling surviving, I recommend killing the avatar you passed earlier otw to Fort Faroth for a quick 100k extra runes to pump into vigor and the opaline hardtear which is pretty clutch for additional damage resistance.
If you don’t want to kill the maiden by Bridge of Sacrifice you can also try the 2nd portal at the Four Belfries to find your original maiden and get your blooded cloth there.
Can’t believe I was the 100th view, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for, thank you so much!! Makes routing new characters so much easier, can’t wait 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This worked flawlessly thanks man! Quick note though for anyone planning on playing a bleed build, killing Mohg will lock you out of getting the White Mask so make sure to do that first.
Things to keep in mind doing this: -Affected quests and missed items doing the shortcuts (for example Roderika's quest + Crimson Hood + Spirit Jellyfish Ashes, the spirit ashes also is used later in the game for another quest/rewards) or missing the Yura's quest rewards, etc. -Killing Irina will completely mess up the quests with Hyetta, and thus missing the best ending of Elden Ring (lord of chaos) *IMO of course, obviously you will miss the items related to the quest too, like the Frenzied Flame Seal, if you wanted to make a build about frenzied incantations or get the lord of chaos ending then I would suggest going to the Chapel of Anticipation using the teleport in The Four Belfries OR going to the Church of Inhibition near the Frenzied Flame Village. Obviously skipping/doing shortcuts will make you miss some stuff, if you are fine with it , then yes, this is an excellent guide :)
Best guide I was on my level 81 main but saw this video and used larval tier and use same stats and killed mohg I did not kill him in 5 times so I used my mimic tier and finally kill mohg
Just started new character, as I want to experience DLC as not-NG+ content and I really like your guide. Making some extra bits along the way, so I can come back to the story later 😅

Thanks! This guide isn't designed particularly for first-time players, but you should play the way you want, and if you find this guide helpful that's great! You might find my first video on my channel more relevant if you're playing the main game.
Didn't even realize that 35 mins passed by. Informative, chill, and awesome video throughout. Thanks!
That's so encouraging to hear, thanks very much for watching!
I was Level 62, attack power 737, bloodflame on weapon and tried your Mohg strat…worked beautifully…kudos…great guide
Glad to hear it works with bloodflame blade, I hadn't tried that. Thanks for watching and for your helpful feedback!
Glad to see this channel grow. Awesome and very useful content. Videos are well made too
Thanks! Yes, glad it's growing thanks to awesome people like you!
This is the best guide. Literally killed almost all bosses first try didnt know the bloodhound sword is this strong. Ty now i can go get the dlc weapons and explore the others.
Well done! Thanks for for the comment, and enjoy the DLC!
Hey there, I just wanted to leave a comment to tell you I really enjoyed your video. The sound of your voice, the calmness, the excellent choice of music, this is actually really relaxing to me lol. On top of that it’s a great guide. Great job.
That means a lot to hear, thanks for taking the time to share!
Your choice of music was fantastic and you’re sounded so clear in everything you laid out. Subscribed.
Glad you enjoyed the music too! Thanks for the sub!
This is a good video not only because its for the DLC but it also is super beneficial for just starting a new playthrough in the most efficient way at least from I've seen so far 👍👍👍
Thanks so much for the encouragement!
@@pimpsterpidgeon4502Thanks for the suggestion! My next video is already planned out, but I may be able to include that in a future video!
beautiful work mate, never killed radahn so quick, first try using the strat.
mohg took a few tries to get that stagger timing right, but worked awesome.
i only upgraded my BHF to +9 and i was wearing the white mask and had no issues.
Love the calm vibes bro 👊🏻
Thanks! Figured some people would appreciate something more relaxing, since the game itself can be pretty stressful!
Ikr so many UA-camrs are so loud and hard to listen to, this laidback calm style was so great
Excellent guide and narration is clear and concise without any stupid jargon. Well done.
One tip; When you drop down that spiritspring after the dragon, you should use it to jump up on that large rock to your right. It has multiple smithing stones on top.
Hello,
absolute excellent guide.
Keep motivated
Umbasa
Wow, that's really encouraging to hear, especially from a souls vet, thanks for the feedback! Enjoy your future runs!
Umbasa
The vibes and music. So thoughtful. Thank you
Thanks for watching, glad you liked the music too!
Great video i love the mellow vibe. As someone who dosen't like youtubey tutorials this is exactly what I wish all of them where like.
That's encouraging to hear, thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful. I was stuck on Mohg for hours.
Yeah Mohg can be brutal. Glad it helped!
This is like a bedtime ASMR. Insane quality
Thanks, glad you found it relaxing!
Thanks for this excelent guide, I already finished the regular game 4 times and finished the DLC once, but missed some weapons and some quests. With your guide just killed Mohg and ready to start the DLC one more time. NG+5 here we go!
Awesome, good luck on your NG+5 run!
Nice, smart adjustments. Congrats on your victory!
Love the narration and your choices of music! It’s raining outside as I watch this as well, for maximum relaxation effect. 😌
Thank you for putting so much work into being thorough and informative! I’m planning some new DLC characters, this will be really useful.
Thanks so much, glad you appreciate the music too! Your encouragement means a lot. Enjoy your future runs!
Following this took me 2h 35min to reach the DLC - thanks for your help!
Well done! 👊
Amazing method. Tried it today and it's not only reliable, it's really satisfying to pull off!
I'm currently on a challenge where I try to beat the game with every weapon, in alphabetical order, starting with a fresh character each run. I can see myself using this to get to the DLC weapons 99% of the time 😅
Wow, that's quite a challenge! Glad this helped, and thanks so much for the comment!
Great guide, and a calm and relaxing delivery. Great vibes!
Glad you found it relaxing, thanks for the shout!
You are the man!!! Excellent video tutorial and the Mohg strategy executed to perfection, thx a lot.
Thanks so much, that means a lot!
My attack was at 760 alittle higher but still worked first try. Very nice strategy man thank you 🙏
Awesome glad you got it, thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I did add that as an alternative in the google doc, in case people don't want to miss Hyetta's questline. Thanks so much for watching!
You're the goat for this kind of guides!
That's awesome of you to say, I do my best at least. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for making!
@@stljumpster86 Thanks for your comment!
Thanks so much for the feedback, and glad you found it helpful!
Very well done! I like how you path your next steps on the map and then show actually footage..
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching.
Wonderful guide saw the two other guides about tanky and op too i may have 100's of hours in elden ring but your way is definitely helping quicken the process this automatically earns a sub from me
Thanks and glad you liked it!
Going to use this guide to speed to DLC in NG+ after I finish the DLC run I'm no now. Thanks for the guide.
Awesome, enjoy NG+!
If you’re having trouble getting the stagger, wait until mohg’s “duo” animation is completely done before using your AoW, I was doing it too early and screwing it up
Thanks good tip!
my guy i just wanna say I appreciate you doing this fr. Praying you have the bestest weekend 💯
Thanks, hope you have a great weekend too!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for the sub 👍
This is a great guide, and especially a great strat for scripting Mohg. I hope the golden algo looks favorably upon you tarnished
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
That Mohg kill was greasy bro. Nicely done.
Thanks for watching!
thank you so much for this guide. if it wasn't for you I would've postponed a few more months! great editing and very soothing voice to listen to!
Thanks, that's encouraging to hear! Enjoy your time with Shadow of the Erdtree.
So, I was doing this for 5 times in a row now. Just a few thoughts.
I always start as Vagabond. End result (since 2 more str) = 740 AR which works perfectly fine. I achieve the kill (while also preparing quests I might be interested in) in exactly 2 hours.
As for mogh, two hints - even though the video makes it clear, but I wasnt able to realize:
1. regenerate your stamina between your "combos" (shackle, r1 r1 r1 r2 > regenerate)
2. after the second "combo" just let him finish ONE animation and AoW right after. (too early/too late = no stagger)
#2 was the reason for a few failed attempts at the beginning.
Also thanks @Soul Obsession. Great video.
Thanks for the feedback!
I don't even need the guide part it's just pleasant to listen to, thank you for such a chill in-depth guide that I am positive has helped a great many people
Thanks, hope you find it relaxing!
Amazing guide. I managed within 1 hour 50 and messed up a couple fights. It's incredibly fast😊
That's a really good time, especially if you haven't already practiced this route - well done!
Can’t believe I was the 100th view, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for, thank you so much!! Makes routing new characters so much easier, can’t wait 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks so much for the 100th view! Hope this helps for your new characters!
This worked flawlessly thanks man! Quick note though for anyone planning on playing a bleed build, killing Mohg will lock you out of getting the White Mask so make sure to do that first.
That's a good point thanks!
Thanks for this. Just got access to the dlc with my lvl 1 character because of this.
Awesome, thanks for sharing that! Enjoy your RL1 run!
perfect guide, helped me beat him and will continue doing this for all my early dlc runs!
Awesome, glad it helped and thanks for the feedback!
Great video and guide. Not only is it very thorough, its relaxing to watch as well. You've got a nice voice and I like your music choice.
Thanks glad you appreciate the music too!
Very detailed and thorough guide! Thank you very much! Will definitely give this a try🎉
Thanks, hope it's helpful!
Things to keep in mind doing this:
-Affected quests and missed items doing the shortcuts (for example Roderika's quest + Crimson Hood + Spirit Jellyfish Ashes, the spirit ashes also is used later in the game for another quest/rewards) or missing the Yura's quest rewards, etc.
Thanks! Yes, the google doc mentions the church of inhibition maiden as an alternative to avoid missing NPC quests
@@SoulObsessionGames Oh cool, I didn't check the doc. Cheers
This is great even for veteran ER players. Appreciate it!
Thanks, I appreciate that you took the time to comment!
this was amazing did everything exactly and finished it in 3hrs
Awesome glad to hear!
Just completed this! Thanks for the effort cuz my way was def not working out too well. Kudos to you bro!
Glad it worked out, thanks so much for the shout!
Excellent guide! The time and effort you put into it is clear to see.
Thanks for doing this!
Thanks for the shout!
Best guide I was on my level 81 main but saw this video and used larval tier and use same stats and killed mohg I did not kill him in 5 times so I used my mimic tier and finally kill mohg
This did work for me, minus taking a side quest to get the mimic tear for Mogh because I couldn't pull that part off without a summon.
It wouldn't be long until you have over 10k subscribers, I just knew it
I hope so, thanks for the encouragement!
Just started new character, as I want to experience DLC as not-NG+ content and I really like your guide. Making some extra bits along the way, so I can come back to the story later 😅
Awesome, hope you find it helpful and thanks for watching!
