I think it'd be cool if Justin and this Channel could make some videos going into the competitive history and his thoughts of playing the games during their peak competitive runs. Go over big moments, controversies, tech discoveries that changed the meta, etc etc.
Basically Ketchup&Mustards MK series but for all the games Justin played, sounds sick.
NGL, seeing him narrate his runs of every EVO title would be AMAZING!!! Like his preparation, then a video per round
I can agree, this is a great idea
Retrospective content, yeah, that would be cool
Facts this is a great idea 💡 someone get this comment to Justin !
Thanks for acknowledging Tatsunoko vs Capcom, super underrated but we still holding it down in the TVC Discord 👍🏽
Tatsu No Noken is my favorite anime
Ever since Dolphin netplay became viable, this game became essentially immortal
DAMN I remember getting so tilted when facing giants with my kaijin no soki team. Good times. I might have to look into this. I just have to figure out how to get a controller similar to the Wii Pro controller lol(surprisingly reliable D-Pad).
wait, u mean there is a way to play it online now??
Looove that game
Hell, I just appreciate that you did a sincere tier list and didn't make it clickbait or edit things to avoid some Twitter crazies. Great list.
Totally agree with the SFxTK placement. One more pass on that game to straighten a few things out and it could be goated.
You are probably THE person to make a list like this.
You have played and truly understood all these games more than, i think anyone. The fact you acknowledge smash and put melee (to my surprise!) In a well deserved goat status spot, really said alot. The man knows his stuff!
Im gonna have to check out some of your top picks and try them out now!
in fairness i think objectively it's in one of the top two considering it was an evo main game for a long time and it has been one of the most popular fighting games in general
iirc he really really likes pixel art games, so there might be some bias there but tbf most good titles have a pixel art style
Except the games in the "never played it, ever" tier
I absolutely hate smash and dont consider it a fighting game, but come on, its melee, melee is a grand exception.
I’d never put melee or smash for that matter into goat status.
mid at best if it comes to fighting game mechanics. but I respect it’s impact as it brought a ton of casuals to the genre that became FGC
It's actually a good tierlist. As a KOF fan I agree with all your placements.
And KOF XV fixed their matchmaking a couple months ago, come back!!
It's a shame they fixed it after everyone already left.
@@Tien1million KOF has never been a popular fighting game that's why people don't play it has nothing to do with the matchmaking
Definitely the best fighting game released in recent memory.
This is an awful tier list
@@Mr_Mistahmmmm yes and no
Kof wasn't popular in usa and some countries of europe (ex: spain)
But is highly popular in south america, asia and europe countries like france, portugal, and italy
Solid tier list, Justin. Usually there will be some disagreement with a list this huge, but I reckon you were bang on with this one.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is one of the best fighting games. So amazing, I miss it.
These past few months I've been watching all the recent(ish) tournaments, Tatsunoko vs Corona, Frosty Faustings, Combo Breaker... I think I've caught up to everything and life feels empty
I wish it wasn't stuck on Wii of all systems. How did that game never get ported to anything else?
TvC is the kind of game where the more you're exposed to it, the more you realize how amazing it is
@@YiddishDancingClownMainly it was rights issues getting in the way
Garbage game
Virtua Fighter 2 was a huge upgrade to VF1. You're either a VF fan or a Tekken fan depending on whether you played VF2 or not.
I really like both franchises! I'm a casual, mostly playing offline, but I still love them both. They share the similarities that make me enjoy 3D fighters a lot more than 2D, but still play significantly different to stand out. I played the classics VF and Tekken recently, and I could not finish Tekken 1 and 2, and VF 1 and 2 more than once. They did not age well. But VF 3 and Tekken 3, they are still really fun to play. They are the first iterations that became real 3D fighter (side steps). I had a lot of fun playing 3s and 4s from both series again. VF4 Evo quest mode is super fun!
I grew up playing both from the very first one. They are different. Personally I actually don't like the direction Tekken is taking with Anime Dragon Ball style story, and all the extra stuff like rage, rage art, and now this rush thing in T8. But I still like both game series alot. I actually play Tekken more.
Fan of both series, grew up playing them both since their first iterations, and while I LIKE Tekken, I LOVE VF, and yea VF2 was really the game that cemented my love of the series. That game completely blew me away when I first saw it in the arcade in 1994, my 8 year old mind was blown.
I owned virtua fighter and virtua kids on the Saturn and played kids a lot. I didn't win on virtua 5 on hardest like I used to on the original installment but it's still in interesting series.
I played VF2 and that was great, but Tekken 2 was on another level with all those extra ulockable fighters.
Real Bout 2 is extremely underrated, I think it may have released around the same time as Garou/Third Strike so it got lost among that but it's probably the best of the Fatal Fury games. It's well worth checking out.
Facts real bout 2 is the best fatal fury game besides garou Imo
I'm sitting here watching this like "Wait...I've seen this already!" and immediately remembered that I was in the stream when you were doing this xD
Thanks a lot for making an idea video like this its like a recommendation games even if your not a champion of gaming or you are, i still think you got the best content dude and imma check all the amazing experience games youve played
There are so many characters in SfxT that I just feel were so cool and fun play style wise that I fear we will never get again in a cap on game
I absolutely loved it because I’ve always loved the Tekken universe, story and characters but just never as good at its gameplay mechanics as SF. It gave the best of both worlds. Consequently Tekken 7 really sucked me in with Akuma and Geese because I knew their moves to heart.
SFxT 2v2 mode is too fun.
Capcom's monetization killed the game, i wanted to try it when it was released but as soon as i heard about p2w power ups in a FIGHTING GAME i skipped it completely
@@themrfelipe6005 most people played without gems or just used the default ones but ya that wasn’t a good look
@@themrfelipe6005 it’s weird how the gems controversy just killed the game for good with no chance for redemption but SF5 bounced back from being a barebones release.
Most of your takes I agree with but I would like to see more rare capcom games like cyberbots, project power, power stone get ranked ,an all capcom list would be cool. Also a neo geo list would be cool Last blade 2 is a great game
I love videos like this, I suggest showing game footage for those who haven't played
I think it was the perfect blend of opinion, technicality and love. Prolly my fave to watch. I wish it was a lil longer. But I loved how straight to the point it was. 9.5 out of 10! Woulda loved to hear a lil more about why u felt some where trash or Goated. Thanks for the vid!
Thank you for showing respect to KoF99. I picked that game up in the $10 bargain bin and played it for hundreds of hours. I still love it even though it's the redheaded stepchild of the franchise.
Great list it’s not surprising though since Justin has been a part of almost every generation of fighting games
Put a lot of classics at the top from ttt1 to melee to garou to cvs2 I love it
Fatal Fury 1 - one of the most innovative out there - it had a tag team system, where 2 players could gang up against the CPU and after that fight, they had to fight each other. It had a solid story behind that fighting, catchy tunes and it started the legend of the lone wolf... of Southtown. It's my first fighting game too... so always have a soft spot for both Fatal Fury 1 and Street Fighter 2 World Warrior... you have no freakin idea how popular SF2 WW was back then... like they even made an infamous HK cantonese flik starring Aaron Kwok and Andy Lau after SF2 WW...! And the first Fatal Fury was called... King of FIghters!!! Both these games should have been GOAT status dude.
It hurts when KoF 2001 gets no love. I know it's not the best but it holds such a special place in my heart because of where I was in my life when I was first playing it.
I was curious about what you thought about Soul Edge. I thought the weapon durability system was interesting and it kinda has a similar in game function to the drive gauge in sf6, where blocking for too long will cause you to take chip, as well as being able to burn it for more damage. Its been a long time since i played it on PS1 but I remember enjoying it a lot. Not as much as SC2 of course...
word, I forgot about that game cuz it was on PS1 but it was a solid precursor to soul calibur. Cervantes crew! (...or Mitsurugi)
I think Bloody Roar would've been fun to see, but it felt a bit unbalanced. Also did I miss Children of the Atom, XvSF and MvSF? ...I know Infinite was trash.
@@Rob165x He put XvsSF and MvSF in really fricking amazing and good respectively from what I can see. He commited heresy by putting COTA in trash (alongside SamSho 1!).
Where’s bloody roar, dark stalkers, pocket fighter, battle arena toshiden, star gladiator/plasma sword, rival schools etc etc
I remember a couple years ago when Justin used to post wild tier list and people wuld get their pitchforks. I see now that was just his troll years, because he didn't miss here!
Most of them i agree and i definitely agree on SXT! It was fantastic but the controversy made some ppl hate it! Love the presentation, audio design and systems! And the satges are so good! Seeing Tekken characters in 2D is still amazing! What hurts me tho is samurai shodown 1 being trash which it isn't i had insane memories of playing it for countless hours with my relatives and friends! Its so good
Love these, still wish I knew your thoughts on Them Fightin Herds
Its actually very fucking fun to lab in, I just wish there was more characters, but 2d fighters with an actual art team behind it makes it slow to make new stuff since animation takes long to do
I thought they canned tht game? I read tht somewhere yesterday when seeing what tht game is@sourthecat
Been quite indecisive about buying MK1 there's just soo many ppl saying a lot of bad things about it and not worth it in general but hearing this guy say it's quite good is very useful tbh
I think I might buy it (winter sale 50% off atm) and put time into it to get good
It will be even cheaper in April, if you are willing to hold out. In general NS tends to sell MK games cheaply after some time, example check MK9,10,11 prices when on sale.
Honestly, I dont think MK1 its that good. The story was meh from the beginning & that led to a lot of people's interest waning off. However, since you seem to want MK1 to play ranked as well, then it might be better to play it now, before the DLCs hit & you regret your choice.
Man I agree with most except while I do completely understand the problem with instant DPs still love P4U, it feels so good to play
Glad SFxT has some love. It's an amazing game that was also underwhelmed due to a bad launch.
Smash Bros. Brawl still has a soft spot in my heart for being my first ssb. I will forever miss the subspace emissary, they had such a great chance to create enemies that require you to use game mechanics that could work for online but they didn't. Anyways great tier list.
Even if its your first super smash, how the hell can you enjoy randomly tripping only to get smashed away? With the few broken characters and broken mechanism they have, the game was obviously imbalanced as-well.
Ssb is way better than ultimate
@@RealBigDeal22It was his first smash. He wasn't worried about being all hyper competitive with it. Most people still don't play smash competitively.
@@Baltic_Dude😂
Ssb was and still is, the best smash game for singleplayer content
Its also the best game for team games imo
i think generally this tierlist was very cool except i think disliking p4au because of the one button DP is a kinda invalid criticism considering how much you play modern on sf6, maybe these days you might be a bit more open to a mechanic like that?
Yeah, that seemed strange. I wonder what he'll feel about Project L, where everyone will have a one-button reversal.
@@Maver1ck101 yeah i think these days a mechanic like that is much more welcomed by most people
Could u do a in depth thoughts on each one but with
Gameplay to explain more visually
Thxs for ur time brother
You just mentioned that real bout fatal fury special is super cool, but where did you put it? The video didn't show
garou mark of the wolves is so legendary bro
Tekken 3 not in GOAT is weird, but when you have some many SNK titles jn GOAT I cant say this is a wrong list
Right? Tekken 3 just made so many good changes that we see today, even playing T3 now is super fun!
But why would you ever play Tekken 3 when you could just play tag
@@BarnstormNZ cause theyre on different fucking platforms and didnt come out at same time? What kind of dogshit is that
@@BarnstormNZsure theyre similar but some people enjoy 3 more for OSTs, gameplay, etc. you should also consider that Tag is the most unbalanced clusterfxck of a TK game we have ever gotten. my nostalgia for the ps2 is what carries Tag1 personally.
good list, agreed with most if not all, nice vid, probably the only tier list vid i could ever watch in full haha tremendous
Can we get a link to the tierlist maker for this one in the description or something?
I'm just happy Justin said Street Fighter 4 is goated. It's my favorite for sure. The amount of hours I spent on that game.
I think SFxT is an unexplored game. Too many people were playing it like SF4, and by the time you got to the Coolkids and Zombie Diver (Driver?) and the RnK guys it was too late. Anyway, solid list. I wish I can get my hands on Tatsunoko vs Capcom. That's one game I wish was never locked to the Wii because it's stuck in limbo and I'd love to see what I could come up with, with some of those characters
Justin my man if you haven't really given Virtua Fighter before 5 a go, I bet you'd find some quirky stuff in VF3tb, the one with uneven arenas on stairs & rooftops etc.
StreetfighterXtekken stages should be studied at the VSfighting game stages school in Detroit. Simply beautiful.
I agree with most but can't get down with MK11 and Injustice 2 getting swatted like that 😂 loved those games, personally - the MTs notwithstanding, I had a lot of fun with em. BUT to each their own, obvi 🤘 Fun video as always, Justin!
MK11 is an underappreciated gem, so is IJ2.
So glad you speak up about how good mkx is. Its seriously the best mk game ever and no one can stop shilling for long enough to admit it
That was masterful trolling with that Ultra SF2 thumbnail😂
Curious on your thoughts about HD Remix. Seems like the only people who hate it are those whose Balrog or Dhalsim got nerfed from the broken original versions.
I personally love it. Probably because my main got buffed. 😂
Very good list Justin, i agree with almost all of them..
3s, CvS2, TTT, MVC2/3 definitely Legendary Status..👌👌
would actually love to hear you explain strive XD
The first ever fighting game I took serious was SF6, the grind of learning and polishing always felt daunting to me. So a game who is able to take me out of my confort zone and make me push myself is amazing.
My first ever fighting game that i took seriously was Guilty Gear Strive, i had never played a traditional fighting game and pressing /d-pad up/ to jump was so weird compared to brawlhalla(platform fighter) were you press /jump button/ instead.Seeing new people play the game and failing at the same stuff i did like unusual inputs, and understanding numpad, that now seem like second nature to me now just puts into perspective how far i’ve come. Amazing
thats recent bro , this list aint really for u then unless u wanna play these old games
@@crazyilahmah707 In Brawlhalla you can change your controls you know, I have up for jump and it's good that Strive has that too
U must be 15 lol
I think you should evaluate Sam show four because I think that game was pretty awesome you had dodging a lot of special effects fatalities and my favorite you had A&B versions of the characters the only thing that was missing was a tag option but when you're fighting for your life who you going to tag to LMAO
i found this to be an extremey agreeable list! especially the goats, i play and worship 3rd strike, kof xiii, garou and cvs2 like crazy!
I think Tekken 4 should be a bit higher because they improved Tekken Force and experimented with stages that had stairs and ceilings. After playing a few DOA games I kinda grew to appreciate what Tekken 4 was going for.
Tekken 4 is still really fun! Not only the atmosphere, the stages and the revamped Tekken force a good. But the gameplay is solid, where poking, spacing and punishing are so much more important than long combos. I liked it for this.
I agree.
I actually hated T5 because of how far advanced T4 seemed.
Looking back, I see how 5's the fairer game competitively, but I still hate the flat stages,
the floors that break with EVERY fall,
the lack of character physics (like T4's hair),
and....Jinpachi. Vanilla Jinpachi. Ugh! I'd MUCH RATHER play against wedgie Heihachi any day!
I've been a Steve Fox main since Tekken 4 - had a lot of fun with that game on PS2 back in the day
Tekken 4 is my favorite, because it was so different overall. That game stays with me more than the first three.
Soul Calibur II was definitely a sleeper. I had so much fun playing that game that I neglected to play Tekken for local tournaments hahaha.
And it was newbie friendly too. No air juggles makes it acessible
Granblue rising came out yesterday . Unfortunate timing when the video was actually recorded. Where do you place it ?
vf2 is so cool. i've been recently getting into it + watching some tourneys and that game is crazy fast
I hadn't realised there was much of a scene for it but that's cool !
Pai dab victory
Tekken 3 belongs in GOAT status
i thought that, too, but realistically... same tier as Tekken Tag? Tekken 3 was perfect for its time, but Tag was so much better it sorta made 3 inferior.
Ikr
Agree before online play I practiced every character for hours and knew all the optimal combos. And tekken ball! That was the funnest shieet
Literally the only thing I would change, moving Soul Calibur 2👆
I agree with the list for the most part but I'm saddened that you haven't really tried Melty Blood. Love that series and enjoyed playing it in the arcade. I own the physical versions of the PS2 and PS4 games.
I started playing 3rd strike in 2017, I know it’s late but I didn’t have access to it here in Europe until the remastered versions came out. But that game is so sick
Overall, a VERY respectable list!! I’m just happy to see Tatsunoko and literally *ANY* DOA game between 1 and Dimensions getting some proper respect, lol.
Also, it wasn’t on the list, but shoutout to Bleach: the Blade of Fate. That game is GOATED for what it managed to pull off in 2006/2007 on the original DS!!
Fantastic tier list
What’s your take on sf alpha 3? I come from like smash bros version of fighting games so I love the fast pace and the not so heavily combo type gameplay. But I also like 3rd strike and injustice where there is definitely not as much movement but still really skill based. I guess do you think combos are better or reading/covering options the opponent might try?
All of a sudden I remembered TMNT Tourney Fighters, Weapon Lord and Eternal Champions 😅
I remember SFVCE was in your Top 5 though. Did the audience persuade you? 🙃
Seems like a couple people persuaded him, I personally never seen him stream MKX or ki 2013 but since he hangs and does a podcast with maximillian dood who lives both those games, all of a sudden he has those games at goat status. Big fan of Justin Wong but this tier list honestly doesn’t seem too authentic to me
With SFV Justin quit his profesional player career and start his streamer career, yep SFV was THAT bad.
@@stevesteve0521 it looks fishy, trust me.
soulcalibur 2 not GOAT status is mind boggling, its one of the absolute best 3d fighting game in history, i have all soulcalibur games, but i only play 2 localy, that says a lot
Anyone remember Power Stone on dreamcast? Loved that game back in the day.
My List of Dope Underrated Fighting games:
Fist of the North Star, Sengoku Basara, DBZ Budokai 3, DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Soul Calibur 3, KOF 98/2002, SSF2 T, Breakers, Arcana Heart, Real Bout Special, Last Blade 2
Best for Laughs:
Clay Fighter, Shaq Fu, Eternal Champions, Saturday Night Slam Masters, Primal Rage, Worl Heroes Perfect
Def Jam Fight for New York dunking on everybody.
Easy. The controls of all these 2D fighting games is not satisfying. I wish someone made a fighting game like def jam again.
How was Tekken 5 DR not included??? Tekken 5 DR is in the GOAT status for sure!!! Best tekken game in history by far.
Agreed. I miss Christie soooo much. She was god like I swear.
I agree, one of the best tekkens ever made.
Justin my guy, how would you rank the DarkStalkers series?
Also Bloody Roar
JWong, Happy Holidays to you and yours. What's your take on X-Men vs Street Fighter?
I'm surprised Justin likes Melee that much, or respects it that much.
He is a pro player and melee is one of the most competitive fighting game of all time, not surprising at all.
I completely agree w sfxt
Me too, great game.
I'm glad to finally see CvS2 at the top of a tier list
What you think about the bloody roar series?
JWong talking about Smash Ultimate not knowing the game his mouse was on was Smash for Wii U lol
i dunno how he finds ult boring but melee is world class. for its time, sure melee is a++ but cmon ult is a step up on quality and quantity
@@greghuffman3061define “for its time”, the game is 22 years old and the community is bigger than it’s ever been right now. as soon as the next smash game comes out, people will stop playing ultimate, but i’m confident people will still be playing melee
@@greghuffman3061define “for its time”. the game is 22 years old and the scene is currently bigger than its ever been. once the new smash game comes out, everyone will hop off of ultimate but melee will probably still be alive
The disrespect of Tekken 4 has to stop. The aesthetic, the best/darkest story of the franchise. The only downside was the uneven stages, because Tekken 5 was broken too especially Steve Fox. Virtua fighter 2,3,4,5 needs to be all in the GOAT status. 4 has the best tutorial in any fighting game.
I love T4 so much but It was madly broken, but it did set up so many unique stage elements that I wish was an option to turn on in future games. Just going to training mode to find all parts of the stage is so fun
Doesn't excuse bad gameplay though. Mechanicaly speaking, it's very weak, even though aesthetically it's my favorite Tekken.
Tekken 4 had some good things going for it, but it will never live up to the glory of 5, 5 revitalized the franchise, 4 just lacked so much polish compared to its predecessors and successors. Still fun, though, but it wasn't that good.
While most of us agree with your points on Tekken 4, its just a bad fighting game. Its a great game, one of the best Tekken games but horrendous fighting game. T5 might be broken but it is still has good fighting game mechanics that the games after it made T5 as their defacto basis until now.
Great fighting game tier list Justin definitely and always a blessing to see u continue to make your career continue to grow and you're forever my friend idol and inspiration happy Saturday God bless stay safe and healthy ❤
Hey justin, do you think we need a major new fighting game franchise?
Finally justice for ALPHA3, im so tired of that stupid snob idea that A2 is better.
I know is less broken, but it has 10% of the content A3 have.
Surely this video will spark a wholesome and helpful conversation 😀
so many fighting games i wish i could play them all i only played tekken 2/3/5/7 tekken tag tournament 2 tekken hybrid dead or alive 5 ultimate and persona 4 arena ultimax, warriors orochi 2 Vs mode, DBZ budokai tenkaichi 3, def jam fight for new york, urban reign, these games gave me great memories
The experience from this guy my god.
You are so on point with the first KI it made laugh. When I was a kid I was amazed, the best game ever and Cinder was the coolest. Then I played it as an adult. It's complete nonsense.
I saw alpha but I would’ve loved to see the reasoning behind alpha 3 being amazing lol I think it’s GOAT status because the Dreamcast version of it had so many different modes, every single character, and world tour mode… alpha 3 was the first time a fighting game allowed you to customize one of the characters as if it was an MMO… i dont know it has always been my favorite
It’s goat status for me as well, Dreamcast, Saturn, ps1 and psp ports are all incredible. Alpha anthology port for ps2 added extra isms so like you have a sf3 ism where you can literally parry moves it’s amazing. I’m actually surprised he had alpha 3 over alpha 2 for a long time he said alpha 2 was the better game but now since he’s played alpha 3 in fightcade so much he’s grown to actually love the game
@@stevesteve0521Because Alpha 2 has a more rigid system. While Alpha 3 went more bonkers with the -ism in a broken way so Alpha 2 is preferred for this. I love Alpha 3 much more though.
Hideaki Itsuno needs to return to fighting games. It’s possible he’s doing that Power Stone remake after Dragon’s Dogma 2 comes out. But it would be nice to see him do more.
With Street Fighter 6 taking mechanics from Devil May Cry 5 it really seems like he should return to do a fighting game. It’d be interesting to see him do Capcom vs SNK 3 with the renewed talk of Capcom and SNK crossover games from the companies last year.
PRETTY SOLID 💪🏾 WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE RIVAL SCHOOLS GOES ON YOUR LIST ALSO SAMURAI SHOWDOWN DIDNT SEE THOSE 🤔
I am about having a denial about strive being fun, I feel so much better seeing you put it in trash makes me realize maybe my inner instinct suspicions were always correct. Strive is a coin toss 2hit simulator, or 30 second defense simulator with obscure visually impairing frame traps
it's really frustrating when you play other games well, and Strive cuts that out as an option and forces unfun unreactable mix ups
As a long time fan of Guilty Gear since GGX I agree that Strive is trash tier. The game barely feels like GG and I got bored of it before they even starting releasing dlc.
@@AzurePhoenix86 honestly strive feels like sfv except with good netcode. Just wish strive was a spin off series
Strive is simply badly designed game and theres a reason fanbase of it are smash players and people who didnt liked fighting games before/got into them with it. Strive wasnt even designed as GG game it was first thing both Katano and Daisuke said during interview at TGS back in 2019 and they also said game is designed in a way to bring in people who dont like fighting games not newcomers to series or genre but actually for people who never liked genre before and it shows. Fact is that they achieved their design goal and its a success but to anyone even not old GG fans but simply fighting genre enjoyers that game is just trash.
@@doooodeh preach it had short term rewards but long term consequences
What a dumb comment, and you know what? So is Street Fighter, also simple at its core.
If you put MK1 in A+, I think SF6 should be S. Both in the same tier is just wrong. JWong was probably very tired at the end of the video, so that's probably why he didn't notice that issue
Did you not listen to what he said? He said it's too early to put it in GOAT tier and he's right. It's an amazing game hands down, but let's see if this holds up for a few years (which it probably will) before giving it GOAT status.
Mk was always mid
MK1 has great gameplay. It's weak in other areas, but JW seems to be exclusively talking about gameplay. I really doubt he misplaced MK1 or SF6 as he knows that's what people came to see. His take is the mainstream take of FGC generalist (people who play both NRS and Capcom).
Sfxt is my fav fighting game of all time... definitely one of the most underrated fighting games of all time. I played it online till its dying days and the community was just awesome. I miss it a lot.
Omg sf x tekken. That game is amazing. Its how I want street fighter to always feel. The combos and tag felt sooooo good.
But you listed Strive in S tier in the top 5 best fighting games fo play in 2023...
Gets boring
I think this list is great, I love playing strive but I understand why people from xx and xrd don't because it's alot slower and the the gatling system is completely different but I would put is at freaking good
Ye the strive opinions can get a bit exaggerated imo
My experience personally is that it doesnt really offer much to veterans of the genre and therefore it puts people off
And especially if you played a lot of xrd and xx before then strive will feel completely uncanny and viscerally unpleasant because its completely different yet looks similar
To add to that, going between +r and xrd feels something like going from smash 4 to smash 5
And then with strive feels like going from smash to brawlhalla
For example, i started playing fighting games relatively recently
And i started with xx, and when i played xrd for the first time it still felt like quilty gear at its core but all the little differences put me off for a good while
But as of late i have come to understand that that is just unfamiliarity and that xrd is an amazing game in its own right
Recently i also tried strive but that experience was so jarring that i felt like i should probably just refund it for the time being
That doesnt mean strive is a bad game, and a lot of people are enjoying it
But it felt a little bit too jarring and not as exciting for me personally
But maybe in the future i will try it again and revise my opinion
SFxT is super underrated. It's such a good game. I wish there was an easy way to play it and that it still had a good scene.
Input lag on the original MK1? On which platform?
Can someone explain to me what's justin's beef with strive😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'll never know, because he is evolving to be one of "those guys" in the FGC, you know what i'm talking about, hence the moral decency declining within the FGC.
No beef. Strive just deserves.
The game is just trash.
The game is stripped down, basic, and boring compared to past GG games. The game is a snooze fest. STRIVE is only “good” if you’ve never played the previous games. I swear that game is carried by its netcode, graphics, and character designs.
@@AK-cp6br Like your cousin.
The only thing I hate about strive is that you lose meter for not being aggressive. Other than that, it's one of the fighting games I have spent the most time on
Same, im putting a lot more time into sf6 right now, but if 3v3 Strive turns out to be really good, we might be looking at GOAT status.
Every gg does this
@@kevinespana2274 Damn. Sometimes not being aggressive can make you less predictable though. I think that mechanic limits the variety in play styles. I mained Jack-O for a bit and when I back dash to set up minions and lose meter it's kind of annoying. Made me just switch to playing Milia or Giovanna
No, that's a guilty gear thing. You lose meter for being too defensive, but gain it back fast by merely just moving towards your oponent
@@alexsanimeart5706it only limits you in Strive, the older games didn't care much about he neutral game, and your Gatling wasn't limited to specific buttons, so you had a lot of freedom
Is there a written list of the final panel? The video doesn’t show them all. I’m very curious about many titles
I'm kind of curious to know where you'd put KOF '97. I don't remember seeing it on there.
strive isnt the greatest, but it certainly doesn't deserve trash tier
Thanks for putting strive low, it took away alot of fun stuff just to cater to casuals. It makes every match look the same when watching and I really hope it decides to add deeper mechanics to it
I agree, but its still fun i guess.
And this tier list is why I pay attention to what Justin says about fighting games. The authority has spoken! We have few differences in opinion here, which is cool.❤️
vampire savior is definitely legendary status honestly prolly my top 3 of all time honestly next to sf2t alpha 3 also a big fan of xmen vs street fighter .Bloody roar 2 wasnt mentioned
