Thank you so much for sharing this! ❤ Watching on Mar 22, 2024. It’s amazing how much the world has changed since 2006. 😢 So glad that I was able to grow up in the 80s and 90s and experience true country music, the closeness of community, Hee Haw and the good days gone by. I consider myself fortunate to have been raised in the church, still have my great grandmother’s old piano in living room. She walked 3 miles each way daily to sell her extra eggs to pay for that piano. I took lessons myself many years later and still play it to this day. Music enriches our lives and people like Buck Owen’s sure have left a wonderful legacy.
Thank you for charing buck owens funeral video. For me i will remenber it for life remember he is always there for all of you from gertrude of grand falls new brunswick canada
My own father was in the hospital in Bakersfield when this took place. He and I sat and watched this together. A few days later we were having his funeral. My sweet dad is literally buried a few yards away from Buck. Thanks for sharing this. It brought back sweet memories.
What a wonderful man he was.... It was 1965.... I was 25 yrs old... a barmaid at the 17 BAR IN BILLINGS, MONTANA We were so lucky to meet many wonderful Country Stars... BUCK performed there several times...He was so nice... so country fine....A true country gentleman ... A few years later our lives crossed again, .... my husband knew Buck... we all met in Phoenix Arizona... Memories Sweet Memories... May he Rest In Peace
My Dad always loved the way Don Rich and Buck always had such harmony together. Dad was a great guitar player and taught me how. RIP Buck Owen's and thank you.
I can remember my Grandfather watching HEE Haw he would watch it on Saturday night when I was growing up in eighties and nineties also the later part of the seventies I was born in 1976 I love 💕 his music he will be missed by not only his family but by his friends and everyone who knew him my blessings go out to him and everyone who he touched with his music over the years Amazing Grace how sweet his sound 🙏
Watched buck Owen's as well as Roy Clark as a kid with my parents on Hew Haw..50 years later that's a happy memory for me. Being young..having my parents and having hee haw prime time tv. Yep. I was lucky!
And it also helped rouse Buck Owens from his longtime depression over the death of Don Rich...Dwight really persuaded Buck to tour again, I believe ....
My dad got me hooked on Buck Owens, and then 12 years later I was sitting behind a mic in Buck's Station in Phoenix. I was in a body cast in 1970 and I dreamt of The KNIX studios, and I mean exactly how they looked and how they smelled. What kind of chair Charlie Ochs, the morning man sat on during his air time. I was blown away when I walked in to that studio 6 years later and saw it again for the second time. I guess if was prewritten I would be there in that studio. Buck was a great man. RIP Buck!
@@dabneyoffermein595 I don't really know, but I hope it wasn't "Act Naturally" because he had many more songs that were better than it. I saw Buck in Concert 5 times in Toronto Ont. in the 60's-70"s, always a great show.
every summer growing up, we'd stop in Bakersfield on our way north. My parents humored us because my brother and i wanted to drive around to see if we could find Buck Owens. RIP
FUNNY Deb Deb! Don't repeat yerself! Don't repeat yerself! On family vacations when us kids wanted to stop somewhere my dad always said, "We'll get it on the way back!" We NEVER did of course!
Buck was important to my Dad and his brother Alfred. I remember driving up to my uncles farm, no one came out normally to greet us. But my uncle Alfred was there to tell Dad that Buck Owens guitarist named Don had died. They mourned with Buck.
I like to think that when buck walked into heaven the first face he saw with that big smile was DON RICH his friend his buddy back together ,Another light has gone out on music row in Nashville and the TONKS on broad all hold their glasses high in a Farwell toast to BUCK OWENS a legend who never forgot were he came from ,RIP ,
I was 4 years old when I first heard Buck Owens Sing My foster family at the time we were putting up the Christmas Tree and listening to his music and I fell in love with his music.
I can still visualize the LP with the face of Buck Owens Leaning against the record player...what a voice! I will forever miss you..thanks for the music 🧡🧡💛❤💚💜💚❤❤🧡
Buck Owens was a very good country singer a lovely man and a reall Bakersfield man he put that sure on the charts a great friend to his dear friend don rich the were so good together RIP dear buck from the Netherlands 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇳🇱
I loved his music so much, especially when he was with the great Don Reach. And I think Dwight Yoakam 's tribute to Buck tonight was exquisitely beautiful and clearly very sincere.RIP Buck and thank you Dwight.

Buck was always my favorite. I Found him in 1960. I was really impressed with his closeness to Don Rich. I remember when Vince Gill honored Buck and Merle with an album. Hadn't really thought much about Vince but after he honored Buck I became very interested in his career. I am a Fan of Trace Adkins......mostly because he honors our military vets. I also am a fan of Brad Paisley because he came onto the scene as pure country. Well, Trace and Brad are more important to me now because they honored Buck. I have one regret when it comes to Buck. I was never in a position to see him live during his heydays but when he built the Crystal Palace I vowed I would go see him there when I retired in 2005. Unfortunately I never made the trip.

No way! I was born on his birthday! Wow! I didn't know that. Cool. This was a very well done, and moving service. Thank you to all who attended and participated. God bless you all.
@12:33 Is Buck's original Telecaster. He then gave it to Don to use when Don decided to become the lead guitarist of the band. Eventually Buck and the guys got endorsed by Fender so they all got new goodies.
It's a cliche', but they broke the mold when they made Buck Owens. His musical prime happened when I was a small boy, and I discovered his music after his friend Don passed away. But I found his talent and uniqueness irresistible and have been a fan ever since. Rest in Peace Buck.
Buck Owens was a country music star in large part because of his distinct singing style. But his success should also be attributed to the guitar playing and backup singing of sidekick Don Rich. Both obviously enjoyed what they did and had fun on stage and that rubbed off on audiences.
