Maybe Charley Pride and Bonnie Pointer singing a duet in heaven as we speak. They both won major country music awards in the 70s. Her's was with her sisters The Pointer Sisters who had a crossover hit Fairytale. It was a fairytale dream for them to be the first black female group to performed on the Opry stage.

I loved Charley Pride my whole life , my mom raised me on traditional country music , before this darn Covid me and my son was going to see Charley Pride in concert in Loughlin Nevada 😢
Loughlin I think, is where they offered a free ride to from Las Vegas to this town in the middle of nowhere some years ago. The fact they got Charlie Pride to go there must have been a big draw for them.. Charlie was a class act.
Charley Pride was the first performer when the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum opened. It was a sell out and Biloxi was not prepared for the traffic jam they encountered.

There is more great REAL talent in the cemeteries across this world than can ever be imagined. I still have trouble listening to Kenny Rogers sing since he died. I went to so many of his concerts.... It was what i looked forward to every year. So i have his CDs but they sit still. But I'll never be able to give them away.
I'd like to add a wonderful songwriter/singer/comedian and gospel performer to this list. Mr. Aaron Wilburn #It's Begining to Rain# We lost him to Covid last month. I'm heartbroken.
Kenny Dale has always been my favorite singer. It broke my heart to hear that he passed away from COVID. I hate this horrible illness. I met Kenny Dale early in his career. He was such a nice man, one of a kind. Never be another Kenny Dale. I saw on his FB page that he was a Christian man. God bless his family.
There is an afterlife. I've seen my husband standing by a beautiful lake telling me how much he loved me. There were people there just enjoying themselves.
Having lived Down under in NZ, I was fortunate to see Charley Pride in concert back in 79, as well as The Highwaymen, Johnny, Kris, Waylon and Willy. was unforgettable. Sad that the old guard has gone. RIP.
@@christhompson3750 Yes, and they both died the same age, and were friends. They sang duets on each other's shows. Helen recorded Mac's I Believe In Music, and she had Kenny Rogers on her show singing Tulsa Twister which was her only country recording.

We lost some icons...heaven is filled with country music this year. What a concert ....God speed each n every one of em...and thanks for being in the fabric of my memories...we love and miss you all.
I will always remember listening to the Grand Ole Opera with my Grandpa. He had this floor model radio. It was at least 4 ft tall and about two ft wide. He’s been in heaven for many years now but at 76 I still miss him. I was 29 when he left this world but he will always be in my world until we meet on the other side of Jordan.🥰
I agree. Bill Mack, The Midnight Cowboy, was a Legendary DJ from Dallas/Ft Worth and a late night hero to truckers for many years. He and Red Sovine (Teddy Bear) did more for truckers than any other entertainers in history and will always be missed. He used to go all over the country putting on his road shows in truckstops and letting anyone that wanted to perform in them do their thing. Hes even mentioned in a few old trucking songs.
Dennis i like your style raised on country music I have always been a fan of country music best music on the planet we have lost a lot of the legends in the last few years wouldn't you say ? we have a very few left .
I was fortunate enough to see Charlie Pride in person in Peoria back in '79. Rex Allen Jr. Opened for him. It was a great concert. I still say his rendition of "Kerligah" is the best.

I'm Charley 0 Bentzler from Wisconsin in Fond du lac County God bless you all. I love everyone in Country Music. Take care and God bless take care Charley'0

Billy Joe shavers was an excellent writer he wrote a lot of Waylon Jennings songs plus other artists his son OD'd about five six years ago one heck of a musician... Google it on country aid Billy Joe sings I'm going to live forever his son plays on that RIP to them all
It's been a pretty rough decade for us longtime country fans, as it seems we've been losing so many legendary artists at a rapid pace. This year was, by far, the worst, though! What's more sad is that hardly anything you hear on so called "country" stations today even comes close to the wonderful music they made. At least their music will continue to live on with us, though.
Tony Rice has died. My guitar hero - and I am sure many thousands of you share my feelings - sadly Tony died on Christmas Day this year 2020. He has left a huge legacy of his gifted works as an instrumentalist , teacher and singer. Will be sadly missed although his health has been poor and he has not performed for several years, . Others here have posted comments on this sad event. RIP Tony and thanks for all you have done for me and others.
@@brenttreadwell3453 Hi Brent Yes I watched it again just yesterday. Looking at it now it is doubly sad that towards the end he was actually saying that maybe if his voice continued to improve he would like to get back to doing what he loves most - playing for his fans. It was not to be.
The years of such beautiful music, thank God for those beautiful voices. Never again will we ever have music like this, they couldn't sing a bad song!! Thank God we have cd's. God bless each of them!! Hillbilly heaven for sure!!
I got to see Charlie Pride once back in 1978 he was on tour with Sylvia. Actually I was supposed to see Johnny Cash but he cancelled because Mother Maybelle Carter passed away and Charlie Pride filled in. It was a pretty good show but Cash was and still is my hero. I grew up listening to Charlie. He wore a necklace around his neck that had "GID" on it. He was asked about it once by the media. He said it stood for "Get It Done" which he did. He's on the list of the Top #1 Hitmakers of all times, not too far away from Conway, Merle and George Strait (the top 3). He died on my birthday.

@@lindapowell3381 I saw Conway once in person- back when he first changed over to country. He was doing a show there in Atlanta and a friend of mine was also on the roster to perform. country ??/ that definition has to be changed, to 'plastic music'....cause it is a waste of good electricity.....syrupy sounding depressing mysogynistic noise......
Watching all the singer's who died last year was like losing a huge part of my childhood and growing up. Had all their albums. Country music today can't touch them.
Hello Jeanne how are you doing today? sorry for the way you feel about the death of some of your country music star's, i pray God help you to be strong to handle the situation

It was what i looked forward to every year. So i have his CDs but they sit still. But I'll never be able to give them away.
How are you doing today paula
We lost such a great bunch of of singers and musicians, heaven will be blessed!!
I'd like to add a wonderful songwriter/singer/comedian and gospel performer to this list. Mr. Aaron Wilburn #It's Begining to Rain# We lost him to Covid last month. I'm heartbroken.
Thank you Aunt Koshiol! I'll add his name to the information of the video. RIP
Best country singers ever lived nobody will ever fill their shoes their songs will Live
Jimmy Capps was a phenomenal player. RIP
Every year these fantastic country stars pass on to a greater place and we don't hear of them passing on.
As an agnostic I'm not quite sure there is an afterlife, but if there is I hope they all meet up there and are jamming together in pure delight.
There is.
@@lanatrapp5522 If you say so than I hope so.
Your answer was so kind. Thank you. Please believe me when I say there is. I know, I truly know.
There is an afterlife. I've seen my husband standing by a beautiful lake telling me how much he loved me. There were people there just enjoying themselves.
@@lanatrapp5522 Your hearts voice has reached out, thanks
I miss these wonderful.voices. This is real country music!! Thank U for sharing this!!
Having lived Down under in NZ, I was fortunate to see Charley Pride in concert back in 79, as well as The Highwaymen, Johnny, Kris, Waylon and Willy. was unforgettable.
Sad that the old guard has gone. RIP.
There is a wonderful band playing in heaven right now.
They will always be with us!
They are all missed. They all played a huge part in country music history.❤️
I met Charlie in person in 1986, he came and played for the Texas Wagon Train for over 4 hours. What a performer and Gentleman. Rest in Peace Charlie.
I wasn’t aware that Mac Davis nor Johnny Bush had died. That’s sad news. Both were really good songwriters and singers.
Mac Davis and Helen Reddy died on the same day.
Mac is much missed in Muscle Shoals where he did most of his recording.
A lot of great actors gone too. That leaves only 3 or 4 great actors in hollyweird. That's a shame.
@@christhompson3750 Yes, and they both died the same age, and were friends. They sang duets on each other's shows. Helen recorded Mac's I Believe In Music, and she had Kenny Rogers on her show singing Tulsa Twister which was her only country recording.
Raised on country and have loved it my whole life...theres not a time I can remember that this music wasnt running in the soundtrack of my life.
Hey Kathryn
Im 66 and was raised on country music, theres a lot my heroes on this list.
I'm 46, and there's a lot of mine on this list as well. Quite a few I didn't know had passed.
@@lindapowell3381 Very true,
I was fortunate enough to see Charlie Pride in person in Peoria back in '79. Rex Allen Jr. Opened for him. It was a great concert. I still say his rendition of "Kerligah" is the best.
I loved Charley singing Kaliga too!
I will always love Kitty Wells and I will always love Loretta and Dolly. I have 100 albums of Loretta please keep Loretta and Dolly Safe. I wish I could meet them. I'm Charley 0 Bentzler from Wisconsin in Fond du lac County God bless you all. I love everyone in Country Music. Take care and God bless take care Charley'0
I remember cranking the record playing Hank Williams records for my teen siblings! That was when country music was true country. I cried when Johnny Cash and George Jones died, I love the old country songs!!!
New Hillbilly Thanks very much. 🎼🎶🎶🙏🙏
Hey rebecca👋how are you doing today
A terrible shock indeed, Kenny and Joe I listened to, Charlie, Mac Davis, now amongst the legends.
We lost so many a great talent .Kenny rogers was my lifetime favorite. Mac davis was great. Kt oslin was great and Charlie pride .we lost so many great people. RIP to all of these wonderful talented artists
Some of the BEST music and entertainers ever...one is no better than the other..each one has left us with a piece of their hearts...Fantastic to appreciate great entertainers... thank you
Hi Jeff how are you doing. I'm Patti from California. I hope you are safe and in good health? Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. Hope you don't mind please.
I didn’t know Billy Joe Shaver died! At least he’s with his wife and son now. 🙏🏻 😢
Really sad may they all RIP
Sad year overall! Definitely for Country Music!
His acceptance speech at the IBMA hall of fame induction is incredible. There wasn't a dry eye in that whole place.
@@brenttreadwell3453 Hi Brent Yes I watched it again just yesterday. Looking at it now it is doubly sad that towards the end he was actually saying that maybe if his voice continued to improve he would like to get back to doing what he loves most - playing for his fans. It was not to be.
So sad. Best flat-picker I've ever heard.
When I heard about Tony I was blown away.
RIP you have us some unforgettable music.
Where has the real music Gone. Missing The Good ol'e USA and our Music. Crying and Praying this last week.
I Will Always Love K.T. Olsin I have all her Albums. I will miss her I have seen her in concert. I will never forget the late great K.T. Olsin very nice lady. She does have the looks of the great late Patsy Cline. Patsy and Loretta are very close to this day. Love Charley 0
Thanks for including John Prine.. the CMAs missed him, and alot of these bonfide legends
Most beautiful songs ,great men and women gone.
How are you doing Margaret
I saw Charley Pride in concert at the county fair, he performed a very good show.
h
I grew up listening to Charlie. He wore a necklace around his neck that had "GID" on it. He was asked about it once by the media. He said it stood for "Get It Done" which he did. He's on the list of the Top #1 Hitmakers of all times, not too far away from Conway, Merle and George Strait (the top 3). He died on my birthday.
how wonderful that must have been seing charley pride in concert that must have been one great concert I never got to see him or conway twitty another one of my favorites .
@@lindapowell3381 I was fortunate enough to see them both but not on the same stage.Funny that you would mention Conway because I was just listening to him. I went with my dad to a concert to see Conway, Merle Haggard and George Jones together. That was a great show and I’m glad I got to spend that quality time with my dad before he passed
@@lindapowell3381 I saw Conway once in person- back when he first changed over to country. He was doing a show there in Atlanta and a friend of mine was also on the roster to perform. He came out front where a group of people were standing there talking and joking. Joined right in like he was just part of the crowd. Very good man.
These were REAL country singers. Not like the glorified pop they now call country.
You can say that again
Agreed....today's country is crap. Nothing country about it.
country ??/ that definition has to be changed, to 'plastic music'....cause it is a waste of good electricity.....syrupy sounding depressing mysogynistic noise......
Yes. Country music has died.
I call it crock
RIP to all of the country and western stars that passed in 2020. There memory lives on through there music and performances.
Kenny Roger was one of a kind. He just had such a unique voice
Another singer who passed away is Margie Bowes, a singer once an OPRY member in the 60's.
Sorry about that. I consulted many sources but didn't find out. I've already added her in the video information. Thank you!
I remember Margie, she was married to one of the Louvin brothers!
We've lost so many Legends. May they all Rest In Peace.
Thank you for honoring these legends.
Ruth McAFee you must have had a beautiful mom to love so much.Celebrities are no more special than the rest of us.what were going to miss about them is there music and they also left families behind who hurt.
Soy de Paraguay y de niño escuchábamos música Country en casa. Gracias mamá y papá por inculcarnos ese estilo tan único
One of the great ones, singer-songwriter Jerry Jeff Walker! RIP great one!!!’
K.T. Oslin👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 My favorite !🎼🎼🎼 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
God bless them all. Good memories and good music they left for us to enjoy.
Many thanks for this (of course tragic) news. I miss personally Jimmy Capps. I'm country music/singers/musicians fan since 1959...and still. God bless you all. Friendly from France/Swiss and Germany. Jo Luttringer.
Thank you, Jo!
So sad to lose so many--but when my Charley passed, it just broke my heart !
Hey Kathy how are you doing today?
Thank you for this tribute, New Hillbilly. Although I wish he wasn’t in this group of terrible losses, I appreciate you including my sweet Jimmy Capps-💔😢
I would see Charlie Daniels every summer when he and his wife would go to Possum Kingdom lake. They always took me out for dinner there where they stayed at. Also my cousin used to play with Jerry Jeff Walker. Loved listening to them play while up in Red River NM.
We also lost Tony Rice Christmas morning one of the best flat top guitar pickers I've ever heard I learned a lot from him ...licks he did was amazing if you've never heard him googling him.GOD BE WITH HIS FAMILY... TONY RICE R.I.P. MY FRIEND...
Robb Houston, guitarist for Randy Travis and Sixwire passed away this year too.
Thank you! I'll add his name to the information list. RIP
And who would have known it. Good old Willie's still with us
Condolences to his family....may he also R I P.
I just love country and western,it tells such beautiful stories, may God RIP all the beautiful voices that passed
So many Greats. John Prine was like losing part of my family. I miss them each day.
Dammit man! What a horrible horrible year. So many beautiful memories created by so many beautiful souls. Never replicated or matched.
