Mr. Nate and Mrs. Kara, I agree that Vancouver is the best Canadian destination to visit. I'm so glad you guys visited there because you can't imagine how beautiful Vancouver is, not to mention what is it like to visit or live there. Personally, I visited there last year with my family and it was like being in the filming locations. I would nominate this vlog. In conclusion, I want to wish you, Nate and Kara, a very good luck on your upcoming journey vlog. 😃😉👍
IKR! Anytime one of my AirBnB guests that stay with me ask about Chinatown I roll my eyes and clinch my teeth. It's always conflicting for me to explain cause locals know avoid it but without trying to discourage my traveling guests because they always read about it and want to explore that area. If anyone who is coming here to Vancouver honestly my advice is to skip Chinatown altogether just put it out of your mind the DTES (Downtown East Side) is no place for tourists or even us local residents to wonder around in. There are far better places to explore and enjoy!
LOL thought the same thing. Only bad thing I have to say about the city is that we have a huge drug addict problem. I live in Calgary now and my 1 week stay in Vancouver when I was visiting my folks, and I swear to you, I saw more people shooting up drugs in that 1week than the 5 years I’ve been living in Calgary.... and I live in downtown Calgary lol.
I wish Chinatown did something like paint the curbs so that people could know that if they no longer see a painted curb, they should turn around. Vancouver's Chinatown is FAMOUSLY near-impossible to navigate without getting turned around at Main and Hastings, even for BC locals.
Ha! You landed in East Hastings - yep, it’s sketchy but the drug addicts are pretty friendly! Chinatown isn’t really a thing anymore in Vancouver. Go to Richmond if that’s what you’re after.
I can vouch for this. Vancouver has the nicest drug addicts and homeless people I have ever seen. I've been to Vancouver a few times. I've parked my rental car with GPS in the car in some sketchy area's and never had a problem.
Erik Stephens true! Got horribly lost a few years ago and it was a bottle piker with no teeth that noticed my confusion and got me pointed in the right direction back to my hotel.
@@oryday1133 well can you blame them? One hardly goes to East Haistings for the tourism. Folks who go there armed and ready with cameras are there for Poverty Porn. Talk about an invasion of privacy and classlessness on the part of the photographer.
Welcome to Vancouver! You've done what every tourist does when they go to Vancouver, accidentally wander into Downtown Eastside and immediately try and get out of there! hahaha
East Hastings. You managed to find one of the top two sketchiest neighborhoods in Canada. You weren't in any danger, just not a place you want to hang around for very long. Looking forward to the rest of your travels in my home and native land.🇨🇦😁
If you want to see a cool Chinatown come to my hometown of Victoria BC we have a small but beautiful Chinatown (and it's also the oldest one in Canada)
Hey guys! As someone who has grown up in Vancouver my entire life I am happy you got to experience the city on a nice sunny day. It truly is a wonderful place filled with a great community of people. But yes, we do have some lower income areas that you seemed to stumble apon. Vancouver's DTES (downtown east side) is one of the largest strips of poverty in all of north america. However it is a functioning community that has a relatively low crime rate and a strong sense of family. The reason for this area is largely due to other areas in Canada simply being too cold for homeless people to survive, therefore Vancouver's climate makes it somewhat livable. Just wanted to give a bit of background on the area, which I know can be a shock to tourists! Happy you got to visit this wonderful part of Canada.
@Flynn's fish forum, mee too! 😊 i love seeing travelers first time in our beloved Vancouver ❤ But we do have a few sketchy streets to avoid..Hastings being one of them. For some shopping and restaurants, you can never go wrong with Robson👍 Good luck to everyone entering their giveaway!🙂 and thank you Kara & Nate!❤
Been following you guys for about a year now, but didn't realize you'd hit my home town. Lovely to see it through the eyes of world class travellers. So weird to see you two in places so familiar to me. Love watching you guys and keep up the great content!
I was brought up in Sydney, Australia, and I agree about the comparison with Vancouver. Vancouver is my favourite Canadian city and you did a fantastic job of promoting it.

Oh... and you know I'm SO EXCITED to see Vancouver!!! Seriously, one of my top places in the world. Could it be any more beautiful, with the ocean, mountains and scenic city scape?
I'm so happy for your sucess on youtube! I can't get enough of Kara's enthusiasm. Her laugh will brighten my day and make me smile too! I'm also so happy that ya'll decided to travel longer!!!
Kara and Nate, Thank you for showing my home city in such a beautiful way. I moved away a year and a half ago and it was giving me serious nostalgia. I love my city deeply, and you showed just a few of the cool things that it offers for n a unique way that when you live there you kind of become accustomed to. You were DEFINITELY IN the downtown east side. And you aren’t kidding about the switch HAHA
I'm so proud of you two for reaching 400k! You guys definitely deserve it. I rarely see travel vloggers come to Vancouver so it was so neat to have you guys here! As soon as y'all said you were going to chinatown, my first thought was "oh honey, no you're not." Loved your video, as always. Excited for the rest of the Canada videos!
Congrats!!! I have a 2 year old daughter and togheter we visited 14 countries already. We're just back from a trip through Vietnam. Congrats on 400K! Been following you two for a year now and I’ve gotta say your travel blogs are still the most interesting and entertaining of any that I’ve seen. Keep up the great work!
Loved Vancouver. We traveled through B.C, Alberta, Banff and parts of Calgary last Fall. The Canadian rockies are absolutely magnificent and that's coming from someone who grew up in the Rocky mountains in CO. Can't wait to see the next coming videos!
So glad to hear you like Canada! I am a Canadian too but I live 45 min east outside of Toronto. I feel so proud and grateful to live here! Keep making the great videos, I love watching them!
Why did I cry? 😂 I am so close to leaving everything behind, except my husband, and living a life of travel. I look forward to your videos every week. Thank you for all that you do to uplift and inspire us all.
Congrats on 400k guys! Paul and I love that we got to meet you while we were here! We laughed out loud when you guys talked about Chinatown! So glad you guys liked it here!
[PAUSE LIFE] Congrats on hitting 400k! I like that you guys are adding the month that you are in each place in the description now. Please continue to do that if you can (or throw in a date at the beginning of the vlog perhaps?). Helps in considering places to visit at certain times of the year (weather, crowds etc.). Keep up the great work y'all!! P.S. Heading to Italy in 2 months!
Wow! Just in awe of your videos! I’ve watched you probably for 2 years now. I’m currently planning a large Europe trip for my friends and I after we graduate in April, and I keep finding myself going back watching your past videos for you suggestion and reviews! So I just wanted to thanks you for such incredible work!
I started watching you guys just a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve seen every single one of your video! I was totally got expecting you guys to travel to my hometown of Vancouver! I glad you guys are enjoying your time in the city❤️
I just found your Channel about 3 weeks ago and have been LOVING it so much. I just watched your first Canadain van life vlog and I honestly thought you were from Canada until now!!! I’m Canadian from a small town about a hour away from Toronto.I know this video it over a year old but I just watched it! You are both great and I hope your safe and stay safe during this pandemic. I’m sending well wishes to you both and your families during this time.
Congrats on hitting 400k! These videos have got me really wanting to travel so much, so me and my friends decided to book a two month trip around Europe and now I couldn't be happier. I want to thank you for consistently making amazing videos that inspire so many people and make people happy!
Can we just appreciate how like nice, generous and genuine these guys are. Like not many people think I’m going to buy someone a nice suitcase or bag and just give it too them. Idk that just seems so kind and it really reflects on someone’s personality. Love you guys
This vlog makes me want to go back to Vancouver. And it does feel like all those cities mashed into one. Also I’m excited for this giveaway! I’ve been eying that bag for a while. Thanks!

Awe man I'm so thrilled to see you in my city...yes downtown Eastside is a bit of a shock if you accidently wander in....I'm a travel consultant and before that worked in the local tourism industry for the past 10 years and I'm so thrilled to see you guys in beautiful Vancouver
So, I have been binge watching you guys for a few months now (at work) and I absolutely enjoy watching the two of you. It's just so nice to see how excited and grateful you guys are when you reach a certain amount of subscribers. It's cool to be seeing this video from 2018 and seeing now that you have 1.62 Million!!! WOW!! Keep up the amazing work you guys are doing. Stay Safe. Peace.
There are many other Asian hubs in the Vancouver area - including some of the best Chinese restaurants in North America in Richmond, BC. Chinatown has history but is too close to the downtown eastside - one of Canada's most dysfunctional areas.
I lived in metro Van for a couple of years. It was a dope little neighborhood just north of Hastings, just inside Burnaby. Hastings was pretty much my main route into the city. I was warned against spending much time off Hastings, especially around the east side, when I first got to town. I never had an issue, though. Believe me when I tell you that the sketchier parts of Vancouver are head and shoulders beyond safer than some of the neighborhoods in Atlanta I've lived in. Seriously, with some of the third world countries these two have waltzed through blissfully, I somehow highly doubt Chinatown is one of the sketchier areas they've been to. Also, the classic chinese garden is dope as AF.
The amount of physical abuse, drugs, homeless I have witness there. I watch around there a lot since there are a few artist studios and gallery there. (they should had checked out the Japanese garden)
It’s so sketchy but has one of my favourite eating places. However, I learnt why it was sketchy from my friend who lives in Vancouver and spent the day with
400K!!! U need to be 1 mil+.. this has got to be the most underappreciated channel on UA-cam.. hope you reach a Mil super soon..!! Keep being awesome!!
Congratulations and very well deserved! I've been following you for a long time now and have watched your channel and both of you grow as filmographers, and it's just been a wonderful thing to see. I can't wait to see what's next!
Congratulations on 400,000. Been watching since you dump your winter clothes in Japan. You guys are so cute together, thank you for taking us along on your journeys.

I’m so proud of you two- when I started following you, I think there were about 9k subscribers and you were just gearing up to do EBC...This March I’m finally doing EBC too, and I never would have discovered it without you, so thanks for all your hard work and can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2019 :)
In Vancouver, the Chinatown you guys went to was the older one. There’s two main china towns; Richmond Vancouver and the newer Chinatown. The Chinatown you went to is where a lot of shady characters hang out, once night hits, after people have had their drinks they typically go down there
I can't believe how far you've come...and that you're still you!! I've followed you since almost the beggining...back then in Taiwan and I love to see you've kept the essence of the channel!! You even still take time to answer to a lot of our comments! Can't wait for y'all to reach 1 million!!! Congrats you guys!!
Congratulations Kara and Nate!! You are the best travel vloggers out there! My husband and I got to spend a day in Vancouver in August pre-cruise and we loved it! We visited the Capalano Suspension Bridge Park and also enjoyed some Asian cuisine and visited Gastown. The town was very clean and definitely had a cool vibe. On to 500K by the end of year???? Maybe??? Keep on keeping on!! 🤗
Great job showing of the city of Vancouver. I lived there for 4 years and worked down by Gastown and Chinatown and lived a couple blocks from Stanley Park. You brought back a ton of memories. Can’t wait for your upcoming adventures.
It's one of my goals to experience Vancouver!! Being from Toronto, it's NOT cheap to fly there sadly. But one day I'll say I've been there! Next time, check out the East Coast of Canada--do the Cabot Trail!
Sounds like you hit ground zero for the fentanyl crisis that has over taken North America. So sad.i like your analogy of the different places that Vancouver reminds you of! Lived there for 15 years. It truly is a fantastic city. Especially when the festivals are in full swing. The seasons also add another layer to its charm! So glad you are enjoying! ❤️🇨🇦🙏
Vancouverites here, tearing up out of excitement to dig out this vlog from Kara and Nate. Hope you come back to Canada soon! So many beautiful destinations here that I could just picture you guys having a blast ♥
Moving to Toronto at the end of 2019 (hopefully) And I plan on spending first few weeks exploring the cities. Already excited because everyone keep telling me how nice the people are. Cant wait to move there and live with my husband ❤
Stanley Park is my backyard! I wake up every morning and see the ocean and the mountains. Last month I flew in one of those seaplanes. So convenient to live near the seaplane base.
@@leviathan85 It was lovely! I took the V2V Ferry to Victoria in mid-October but while I was in Victoria the V2V had its last sailing of the season so I decided to take HarbourAir seaplane back to Vancouver. Beautiful flight, no turbulence, it is a bit loud inside but man, you can't beat 35 mins, downtown to downtown. Fun fact, the luggage is stowed in the floats!

I like how the intro was them thanking us for 400,000 subs and get here I am just over a year later watching it again with them have 1.3 MIL. Keep grinding Nate and Kara.
Knowing the distances involved between the north shore and Granville Island I'm impressed with how much ground you covered by bicycle in a few hours and still allowed time to stop for photos & videos. I'm also glad your visit coincided with the best part of the fall weather! Granville Island used to pure industry for the bulk of the 20th century, and when it was revitalized to what you see now it found a much appreciated second purpose that helped facilitate False Creek being cleaned up. There are occasions now when whales even venture into those waters. As for the Chinatown experience you likely didn't see the more interesting parts of Old Chinatown (as mentioned by others Richmond has surpassed this now) but it does have plenty of history. Chinatown and Gastown are separated by the downtown east side, which as you perhaps experienced does have an abundance of addicts, dealers, and street people coping with mental health issues. It's the poorest neighborhood in one of the wealthiest cities, but again as noted that doesn't mean there isn't an abundance of very kind and decent people there too. You'll have to make it back one day for a longer visit and to try some different food!
Congrats!! Id been looking forward to these vlogs, so glad they are here. Just traded in our backpacks for a van so getting ready to set off again soon! Hope you had a blast!!
Great vlog as usual! Yay to 400K! So happy for the both of you! Y’all deserve it! I have learned so much from your vlogs! Can’t wait to start my traveling plan! Congratulations!
Congrats on the 400k y'all. That is so awesome!!! Y'all're are such a great couple and I'm glad y'all are gettin to live your lives as you want. I'm sure its not as easy as y'all come across, but your happy and that's all that counts. Keep goin and see y'all at 500k.
Congrats on the 400K Wow!!! Thanks for this video too. I'll be flying into Vancouver and was curious what the vibe is there. Great video- 99% pristine, 1% sketch
I have been following you guys for a long time. The day you reached India, visited Agra and enjoyed Holi - I couldn't stop watching you guys. I remember taking breaks from my Physics paper by looking at your videos, they make me smile. You guys are the cutest couple I have ever seen. And Nate reminds me of Ronaldo I don't know why. Congratulations!! I wish you guys reach 1M soon. Cheers
I wish I knew you were here in Vancouver - we could have shown you around. I hope you got to see some of the North Shore attractions: Ambleside Beach, Lynn Canyon, Grouse Mountain, etc. I also recommend visiting the Main and Broadway area - there are many craft breweries, farm to table eateries and other hipster hot spots.
It’s so cool seeing you guys explore Vancouver,, I live in Victoria and visit quite often. I love seeing people’s reactions to Canada, makes me really appreciate how beautiful the country I live in is.

Alberta doesn't have mountains, it's a flatland
Cheers to 400k. I predict over 2 million by the end of 2019. I’m calling it now. Love you guys!
joe zurita that would be crazy! Thank you :)
Hey Nate, I love your own definition of Vancouver. (Maine+ San Fran + Sydney + Hong Kong). Great perspective !
I am so happy you guys like Vancouver. I live just a ferry ride away on Vancouver Island and it's truly one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Awe man I'm so thrilled to see you in my city...yes downtown Eastside is a bit of a shock if you accidently wander in....I'm a travel consultant and before that worked in the local tourism industry for the past 10 years and I'm so thrilled to see you guys in beautiful Vancouver
My husband and I just left Vancouver this morning and your video popped up lol! We've been there all week and fell in love with this city!
The quality of these vlogs is amazing as always, so enjoyable to watch! Great work!
Vancouver is one of my favorite cities in this beautiful world of ours... 🇨🇦
As soon as the notification popped. I clicked it. Was waiting for it. Love ❤️
Stay Safe. Peace.
I've lived in metro Vancouver for 8+ years. I wouldn't advise people to explore most parts of Chinatown because of how sketchy it is.
I was wondering if they goofed our it was actually a sketchy area. Thanks.
However, I learnt why it was sketchy from my friend who lives in Vancouver and spent the day with
We (me and my husband) are hooked to ur video. In fact, he is subscribed to just two channels, mine and yours.

Congratulations and very well deserved! I've been following you for a long time now and have watched your channel and both of you grow as filmographers, and it's just been a wonderful thing to see. I can't wait to see what's next!
I am following you since you had around 20k subscribers. Now you had more than 400k :D. You guys totally deserve it
Congratulations on 400,000 and great to see you enjoying my beautiful country. Awesome !!
I CANNOT wait for your Kelowna vlogs!! I'm from/ live there!!
Me too! I'm in Vernon 😊
Vancouver local here! Yeah, downtown Vancouver cab get pretty sketchy pretty quick. You got to avoid East Hastings!
Congratulations on the 400K; always loving your vlogs. Vancouver looks so cool! Hope I can visit there someday!

Sriram Srinivasan thanks! Me too!
Congratulations on 400,000. Been watching since you dump your winter clothes in Japan. You guys are so cute together, thank you for taking us along on your journeys.
Congrats on 400k! As far as I'm concerned, y'all deserve 1mil. You're literally the most likable and relatable couple I've found on UA-cam
Hello, Tori. We send out free wireless charger in amazon for a 5-star review. It's UL certified, compatible to iphone and andriod, and portable. Let me know if interested, thank you very much.
I’m so proud of you two- when I started following you, I think there were about 9k subscribers and you were just gearing up to do EBC...This March I’m finally doing EBC too, and I never would have discovered it without you, so thanks for all your hard work and can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2019 :)
That is awesome! Happy trekking!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks so much Mily! Always appreciate your positive comments!❤️
Congratulations guys! YOU GUYS LITERALLY THE BEST ! After watching you guys I also decided to start my own travel channel! Wish me luck !!!

Gdluck!
Welcome to Canada! I'm glad you enjoyed Vancouver! Congrats on 400k!
James Greenfield I also really want to visit Toronto!!
@@KaraandNate Torontonian (born and raised) here ; if you guys want some tips on where to go (and what/where to eat) I would love to help!
i live in vancouver. i heard so many great things about the t dot. i hope to visit jane n finch one day.
Your video makes me picture how beautiful Vancouver was! 😫 I stayed Vancouver for 1 year and I love there. Thank you for your video 💓
Moving to Toronto at the end of 2019 (hopefully)
And I plan on spending first few weeks exploring the cities. Already excited because everyone keep telling me how nice the people are.
Cant wait to move there and live with my husband ❤
well i lived in Vancouver and the people are nice and it has not as bad weather, but your asking for toronto so no idea
Hey did you move to Canada ?
Stanley Park is my backyard! I wake up every morning and see the ocean and the mountains. Last month I flew in one of those seaplanes. So convenient to live near the seaplane base.
How was taking the seaplane? I've always wanted to try it!
You inadvertently went to the Lower East Side, which is the city's (and the country's) sketchiest neighborhood.

@@daniellee8167 I'm interested
It's called the DTES (Downtown East Side)
I like how the intro was them thanking us for 400,000 subs and get here I am just over a year later watching it again with them have 1.3 MIL. Keep grinding Nate and Kara.
Oh yeah I use the term “hangry” too.
Been watching from your first vlogs for about a month and half. Been to Vancouver twice, such a beautiful city.
Congrats on the 400k y'all. That is so awesome!!! Y'all're are such a great couple and I'm glad y'all are gettin to live your lives as you want. I'm sure its not as easy as y'all come across, but your happy and that's all that counts. Keep goin and see y'all at 500k.
Congratulations Kara and Nate with 400K!
Oh ya, there are parts of Vancouver that are super sketchy and scary. In the 90's they had a mayor that said they had lost the war on drugs...
So true but that applies to everywhere now with a drug epidemic in the world
Tomorrow is my Exam and i'm watching this blog 😃
*patiently waiting for Kara and Nate to hit a Million subbies* because they are both AWESOME!
I love both of you. I am always excited to see your videos. I feel so alive when I watch it and I can’t wait to visit them someday.
Cheers
Vancouver is one of my favorite city ....
Thank you Guys for Constantly uploading the videos.I saw some of the great places in the earth that i could ever imagined. Huge respect from Canada.
