Some economists have projected that both the U.S. and parts of Europe could slip into a recession for a portion of 2023. A global recession, defined as a contraction in annual global per capita income, is more rare because China and emerging markets often grow faster than more developed economies. Essentially the world economy is considered to be in recession if economic growth falls behind population growth.

The Westerners have a song called 'Stand by Me.' But what happens if that person is no longer there? Or worse, when you rely on someone, they may control you. The world is forgetting Afghanistan and its terrible situation is just becoming normal. It looks like the world is accepting the present situation of Afghan women.😢
which is funny when they talk about "feeling threatened" by trump giving blanket tariffs across the board. Basic business would just mean the US population would be paying more as the consumers, not the countries doing the importing. So why would the countries doing the "importing" feel "threatened" is beyond me.
Did that Washington reporter just say he's going to use tarrif money to support parents and farmers lol...did he really say that.what are these people talking about😮

In-your-face truths can sound like crap to those who prefer to avoid facing up to those truths because they're too caught up adjusting their rose-tinted glasses
A very interesting postcast from BBC, with lots of insightful views offered by journalists around the world and specialists in their fields. I have gotten a glimpse into how 2025 would likely be and although there seem to be a lot of hope but it certainly continues to be problematic in terms of global economy, domestic development, wars and climate change. More efforts are needed from everyone and I feel lucky when thinking that the world is becoming more interconnected and smaller, giving grounds to sharing problems and tackling them together.
It’s a mistake to think that it’s only European problem. I would even say if American leader gave to Ukraine same stuff, but at the very beginning of invasion the war would be finished a year ago. So, not big enough balls is also related to US.
“Try to deliver on their promises”? What a water downed perspective on what is surely going to be a bad year for all normal people. I’m sorry to say, this is a poor excuse for honest news - asking a Trump stooge what he thinks.
Has anyone really researched what the contagion risk, and its potential impact/exposure, on the remaining EU under stressed scenarios of sharp spikes in German and French bankruptcy rates. Regional politics aside…..let’s not forget, “it’s the economy, stupid”.
If emissions are peaking in 2025, that's the singular best piece of news to usher in 2025. Trump will just take US and its international relations a few steps backwards and the rest of the world will learn to move on without relying on them. Thanks for being very informative.
Emissions are definitely not peaking in 2025, though I truly wish that were true. Even if there were large-scale changes to curb our emissions, which there aren't, we are in an exponential positive-feedback loop, and we are approaching ecological collapse. Carbon emissions have been higher than ever, year after year, since the covid pandemic. People are still denying climate change, and also the severity/how rapid things are changing - even faster than our worst-case scenario models. Look into the actual science, and not just what is being reported to placate the general population so that we just carry on as business-as-usual. We actually already surpassed 1.5 degrees of warming, and have actually just hit 1.95 on Dec. 29, 2025. I dont know how no one else is awakening to this... actually, I do. This is such a scary reality, and it is a coping mechanism to be in denial and just hope that the 'false' reporting is true. Listen to how they choose their words - just ways to mask the truth. Everyone is worried about the economy, and the rich are just getting richer while the rest of us suffer. That in isteslf is utter BS, but how is no one realising that with this change to global climate, our food supply is vulnerable to collapsing soon, too. How can any of us live without food? Yet everyone is worried about spending more, building more, and developing more. Just more growth for the rich to become even richer. Emissions peaking is simply not true, though again, i wish and hope it were.

I think people should always put their money to work. In 2025, we're gonna see more market options popping up. Stocks have been doing pretty well lately, so it’s fair to say they’re one of the best investments out there. Hopefully, others feel the same way.
