Hey! From someone who's been to Niagara Falls a ton, I totally recommend Journey Behind the Falls! It's only a little bit more expensive for an adult ticket, but you get to see a lot. You're able to explore tunnels behind the Horseshoe Falls, and a few lead to where you're standing a few feet away from the moving water! There's also a deck (half open, half sheltered) at the very bottom of the falls afterwards too! It's definitely worth the price in my opinion. Much love from Toronto, ON!

I grew up in Western NY and went to Canada a gagillion times. I remember one time going up and the Canadian boarder patrol officer asked "How long do you plan on staying in the US?" I said, "Umm forever?" He said, "I mean Canada...it's been a long day." He let us through without any other questions :)
Hearing all the sounds from the Sprinter van is giving me some heavy flashbacks. I drove one of these every day for 3 years and all those sounds are very distinctive. The sound of the driver-side door is one of a kind.
My Pop did the same thing. Asked the same question & couldn't remember where he lived, looked over to my Mom, got the answer & told the Border Control Officer. Well, of course we got pulled over & they spent about 30 minutes checking out the van & all documents. I was about 8 & I still remember the day clearly...just craziness. My Mom was so upset with him that day....
One time they asked me where I lived and I COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME REMEMBER and instead went with "Just outside Toronto" and he was like, "WHERE just outside Toronto?" and *finally* I remembered. Scared me to death.
The guy technically asked “where do you live?” And I was ready for Nate to say either “in this van” or “we travel full-time, we don’t really have a home” and for shenanigans to ensue.
As a Canadian, I have never had issues entering the US. The US border guards have always been very professional and polite. I've actually had a more challenging time re-entering Canada. The Canadian border guards are polite but ask many questions about how much you spent in the US to determine if you owe an extra duty. Its great having such a great relationship between these 2 great countries.
OMG! Kara I get that nervous at border crossings too, especially these days with all the extra restrictions. We just drove over the border in Croatia to Bosnia and I was a wreck. Also the passport scene is very relatable too, earlier this week I had a call from airport security to say they had my passport as I left it at the airport in Croatia, so thankful they found it and gave it to me, I hadn't even noticed it had gone! 😅

Binge watching this channel for a month now. You are great. One thing, I am not an expert but I know some things, the van's engine sound a bit rough, it might be a loose belt or the timing chain. It wouldn't be something the van's computer can pick up because you would a warning light on the dash. Just a precaution check it over with a car mechanic.
it’s funny that this is your new “travel day” type vlog 😅 when nate said it’s been 40 hours since you left nashville, it reminded me so much of the hours-long airport videos
I'm from Ottawa Canada and I chuckled when you found it strange that they took the pepper spray cause we in Canada look at the US and say to each other "Wouldn't it be so weird to see Canadians walking around with side arms?" Weapons are just so foreign to us lol
I'm also a Canadian and it boggles my mind they are allowed to carry weapons but we can't take Kinder Surprise Eggs across the border because Americans are worried about the warning label that says not to give the toy part to babies under 3.
@@irwfcm i 'm from Canada, i don't know if there a difference of a Pepper spray (label for self defence) or pepper spray (label for Bear or Dog), because i order one Dog/Bear spray on Amazon for my forest hiking and was no problem to ship to my house

Oh my! I did the candian boat tour 2 years ago under the falls! I loved it! Was so fun to watch you guys do it I also highly recommend zip lining over the falls!
I will admit as a Canadian it is very frustrating seeing how Americans are being allowed to cross the land border for tourism while the same curtesy is not not being returned to us. I still hope you enjoy your trip but please be mindful there's unequal privileges being extended
@@therealsandraweise It's not the case anymore, but at the time of commenting my understanding was it was due to foreign relations. The US had closed its land borders to both Canada and Mexico for most of the pandemic up until then, and vaccinations were well underway at that point, but going a lot faster in Canada and the US (70% and 65% ish vs. 45%ish in Mexico around that time). Because of that, I wouldn't be surprised that US's choice was because they wanted to appear to be equally treating their northern and southern neighbours, even if they felt it was safe for their citizens to travel to Canada. Eventually the border was reopened to Canadians in November (same as when reopened to Mexicans), but there were still the 3 months where it was one way free access. Hope this explained things to you okay!
At no point during Covid-19 Canada/US border controls have the US and Canada been significantly different. It's becaucheatse the governments decided to match each other each time it was changed. The biggest difference was for a period of time, the US permitted tourists from Canada to *fly* in (only). In turn, Canada permitted people who lived in Alaska to drive through Canada to-and-from the lower 50, on condition they only stopped for gas or to pick up food. A number of Americans decided to cheat and turn it into sight-seeing. Massive fines.

I’ve done the border crossing at Niagara Falls many times and it’s always backed up coming into Canada. Anything less than a 45 minute wait is good. And the Canadian side of the falls has much better viewing than the American side. Plus, it’s usually a lot drier. Welcome to Canada, bienvenue au Canada!

I have been there just before I turned 7 years old with my parents and my sister and that was during the summer of 1977. I remembered seeing the falls and even been on the boat. I was little so I just remembered the little things that I did when I was little. My father did drove a station wagon with a pop up camper. The car was a Ford and white color with that wood on the sides.

Also, there is this weird like glitch right at the end where you can hear you guys saying hello to your friends and this pink background shows up with writing and then just as quickly disappears. You are not, it appears that they were streaming the video to something in the van and the connection got disturbed for a moment. Happens at 15:40, just says Media Offline in many languages. For border crossing usually the USA into Canada isn't too bad, but for anyone who is not from the USA trying to go from Canada into the USA, oooo buddy it is hell. Even just Canadians trying to do it. You basically have to know someone in the USA to vouch for you.

Plus, we don't want any ponchos!
Interestingly enough, as much as you were surprised you could not bring pepper spray from the USA into Canada....it is equally prohibited to bring a Kinder Egg into the USA. Kinder is a chocholate egg with a small toy inside. Just as with the pepper spray, you can be charged, prosecuted and possibly incarcerated. I really enjoy your videos, fun and uplifting. As a western New Yorker, I hope you guys enjoyed your time at the Falls! It really is neat to be so up close to the power of Mother Nature and to experience it first hand. Have fun in Canada and best wishes to Nate for a speedy recovery!
I’m from WNY too! I always take the falls for granted and it’s so cool watching other people react to it! I forget how amazing it is that we live so close to something that powerful
guys you did the smartest thing in being honest and open with the border guards - and it doesn't matter how many countries you've travelled to- you should always, always do your research first, each country has its own standards and they can change at any time
“How am I so bad at wearing a poncho?” 😂😂
Never commented on a UA-cam before, but I felt like that one liner didn’t get the credit it deserved.
First if all you would say it as Never commented on a UA-cam Video Before.
Who needs to get work done when a K&N video pops up? Yeah me neither LOL I love all your videos and this one has been one of my favorites. So many highs and lows. Waiting on the edge of my seat for the next video. PS. So thankful that Nate is clear of cancer. Sending all the blessings and love.

I live about 2 hours west of Toronto and have been to Niagara falls a million times. I've never seen a video I enjoyed so much because it was so close to home. Been watching you guys for over a year now. You are so sweet and happy all the time. Thanks for breathing life into me!!
The commentary at the falls was hysterical in all the wind and wet!! Love y’all so much😆
I DON'T KNOW WHY AM ENJOYING YOUR CONTENT BUT AM JUST A KID BUT AM ENJOYING WATCHING THIS
I’m so glad that Nate is ok!!! ❤️❤️❤️
On the day after my 30th birthday, I’m so enjoying sitting and watching this while I cuddle my dog. ❤️❤️❤️

Do you know how many times I’ve tried to pause on that red screen at the end and I can’t and it’s driving me crazy?
GOT IT FINALLY!!!!! It says “Media offline” in 10 languages. Do I win a prize? :-)

@@Psychphuq yup. It was driving me nuts even on that speed Because I had to pause and unpause it 1 million times but I couldn’t let it go. I knew it wasn’t important but my stubborn brain didn’t care.
My mom used to travel from Quebec to Texas and she always stopped at Nashville cause it's one of her favorite state, mostly for the people and obviously for the musical lore. Have a great van trip.
I've lived in Buffalo my whole life & taking a day trip to Niagara Falls is something we do a lot! I believe one of our school trips was to go on the Maid of the Mist. SO cool to see you guys do something I've done quite a lot, and drive around the same roads I drive almost everyday!
Great to see people doing what you do but in their unique way. I'm too a substantial fan of this channel and I additionally create videos concerning life in Russia. Sadly the youtube algorithm has not been as nice to me yet. Virtually all those that enjoys my vlogs claims that it is brilliant, but not many get to watch it. Can you be brutally sincere and say exactly how I can improve? I value your honest point of view.
Buffalo New York gets lake effect snow like no other place on the planet. When I was in trucking,...I knew,...throw out the dam logs and whatever you do, get thru Buffalo before it hits. If you get stuck in Buffalo during a lake effect blizzard in your truck.....you're an idiot. i remember it being a very clean blue collar city.Once spring clean up was done.
I also had a elementary field trip to the Maid of the Mist! Must be a buffalo thing!
It’s so weird seeing it happen
I live in Syracuse so little farther than you are but I went with my cousin and my grandma and my aunt and it was just me not my siblings or my mom and it was the best trip of my life
What a nice, mid week surprise this morning, thank you. As a Detroit native who has crossed the border into Windsor, Canada about a million times...I still get nervous. We used to camp there every summer and had to be really careful what we had packed/might have had leftover in our gear from other camping trips.
I love those gestures, opening the door and little kiss ... what a beautiful couple, inspiring!
I just rewatched all your videos from the beginning (again) and just wanted to say I am loving the van life videos!!!💓💓💓
"I just know I'm gonna bang my head on something"
*instant flashback to Antarctica when you tried to do the cool clothing transition and slammed your head on the ceiling*
That was the first Kara and Nate video I watched and I was hooked, watching her jump in the water 🤘 that was cool or cold haha
😂😂😂
My mom grew up in Niagara and my grandma is laid to rest there. Niagara/Buffalo is very special to me ❤
I live in Ontario Canada and it’s amazing. I grew up here and was born here AND still here
And it pretty great…. Fall right now is absolutely incredible, bright colours and early mornings are the best
One thing though, if your planning on going up North near Timmins or moose factory, prepare for 2 feet height snow and roads that aren’t plowed.
Also you have to get a strawberry cream chill at Tim Hortins. Have a great time here. Best wishes for all

What's Strawberry Cream Sugar?
@@cdesmon it’s like a strawberry smoothie but with strawberry sauce and whip cream. It kinda plain but it amazingly delicious

Oh my gosh, we already saw the video that y'all made together and I immediately recognized that driveway and the porch and Bec's voice!!!! You guys are so cute. Just love how the UA-camrs come together...We love it, we're here for it and I speak for us all, WE WANT MORE!!! LOL! Glad you're doing well Nate and keep care of that noggin' of yours!
Hay guys. Remember, you guys represent a couoles grace! Life is messy and you handle all those challenges together and with a great deal of grace! Its a joy to watch!!!!
Love seeing you guys do touristy stuff again, like when y'all were travelling the world. Feels like old times.
😭😭
Won't happen anymore. Will be difficult now
@@youandiryan totally.
Hearing all the sounds from the Sprinter van is giving me some heavy flashbacks. I drove one of these every day for 3 years and all those sounds are very distinctive. The sound of the driver-side door is one of a kind.
So fun to see you guys drive through our City, Buffalo! The Maid of the Mist is a gem for sure. Amazing experience, albeit, a wet one! 😂
Welcome to Canada.
I can so relate to Kara.
Border security: "Where are you from?"
Me: Ahhh... brain freeze.
I can just see myself now...
Security: "Where are you from?"
Me: "The US..." :smirk:
One time they asked me where I lived and I COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME REMEMBER and instead went with "Just outside Toronto" and he was like, "WHERE just outside Toronto?" and *finally* I remembered. Scared me to death.
The guy technically asked “where do you live?” And I was ready for Nate to say either “in this van” or “we travel full-time, we don’t really have a home” and for shenanigans to ensue.
@@judyw2827 Ha! Me too. =D
I think Kara and Nate has the best thumbnails always😍😂😋 amazing vl9g guys. Keep rocking❤🤩
I’m from western New York and have been to The Falls many times. My favorite time to go is in the winter… very beautiful. Thanks for sharing this video Kara and Nate.
I've seen your Canadian adventures from Eamon and Bec and Kinging it's perspectives! Can't wait to see yours!! 🥰
Ditto!!
So much love you have for one another, and so much fun you both have together. I throughly enjoy watching your videos. Keep on keeping on.😊👍🙏
Ive just had a really crappy day, and I’ve been watching your videos tonight to cheer up 😭☺️ thanks for the wholesome, amazing, well made, content. You guys make me smile every video! ❤️ good luck on all your upcoming adventures!
I could listen to the rain on the van and windows all day! The 1st 5 seconds was very relaxing!
@@marymachum "But feel free to purchase an assault rifle at one of our fine stores". Ridiculous.
I know there are bears in Canada. Y'all can't carry bear spray either? What are you allowed to do to protect yourself from bears?
@@irwfcm i 'm from Canada, i don't know if there a difference of a Pepper spray (label for self defence) or pepper spray (label for Bear or Dog), because i order one Dog/Bear spray on Amazon for my forest hiking and was no problem to ship to my house
@@irwfcm We do have bear spray, but to carry you need "reasonable belief" that it is for protection against bears - not people. So if you're caught carrying it in a metropolitan city, you could be charged.
DH&I went to Niagara Falls for our honeymoon in 1977. Back then, we just needed our driver’s licenses. A lot has changed since then.
We currently live 1.5 hours drive time north of you. OldestDaughter, 2 friends, and I went to the TPAC to see “Hamilton”. Fabulous, just fab-u-lous!
I really enjoy seeing you two doing “touristy” things and having a great time! (Also pepper spray is also not allowed in Barbados… brought some in without knowing.)
Oh my! I did the candian boat tour 2 years ago under the falls! I loved it! Was so fun to watch you guys do it I also highly recommend zip lining over the falls!
"Where you from" … "Teennneesseee ????" 😂🤣 - lol that cracked me up.
I will admit as a Canadian it is very frustrating seeing how Americans are being allowed to cross the land border for tourism while the same curtesy is not not being returned to us. I still hope you enjoy your trip but please be mindful there's unequal privileges being extended
Why? Never knew.
What ?
Welcome to Canada - thanks for the bonus episode - have a great time
I have never actually been to the american side of the niagra falls, but i can say it is the most spectaular view i have ever seen from the canadain side..

watching people travel through where i live is one of the coolest things ever. 📍BUFFALO
I cheered with you when you entered Canada. It's so exciting to have you guys in my country!
Awww little Kara 🥺
I was having a rough morning but my day got so much better when I saw there was a mid week Kara and Nate video posted! I look forward to your videos each week so much! Even my 8 month old baby likes to watch them 😂
I love you guys so much! It’s so great to know that such successful people like you have been on the same ground I have. You guys are so inspiring!
FYI: Pepper spray is illegal in Canada, EXCEPT when it is labeled as BEAR SPRAY. (must have USEPA on the label) And you are only allowed to use it against bear attacks. Any other use is illegal.
Ik it’s so fucked here, any weapon of self defence is illegal

Oh man just watching you having to answer all those questions at the border crossing made me nervous! So glad you guys made it through! I’d be soo nervous, even if nothing was wrong. Also, there is this weird like glitch right at the end where you can hear you guys saying hello to your friends and this pink background shows up with writing and then just as quickly disappears. Am I the only one seeing it?
You are not, it appears that they were streaming the video to something in the van and the connection got disturbed for a moment. Happens at 15:40, just says Media Offline in many languages.
For border crossing usually the USA into Canada isn't too bad, but for anyone who is not from the USA trying to go from Canada into the USA, oooo buddy it is hell. Even just Canadians trying to do it. You basically have to know someone in the USA to vouch for you.
Honestly same talking to officials “I think I’m from Tennessee” 😭😭😭😭

thats not a hard time at all. they were lucky they were let in.
When you were driving up the 190 through Buffalo to the border, did it smell like Cheerios? There's a General Mills plant to the left of the 190 and when theyre cooking their oats the whole area smells like cheerios

We loved the Maid of the Mist! We went at the end of July one year during a heat wave and it was around 100 degrees. Very hot for the area and they kept trying to give us the ponchos and telling us we would get wet! Lol. We were like no kidding, that's why we want to ride the boat, it's a heat wave!
Keep up the good work.
