I hope you had the dealer handle the repair issues. That way documented in case needed later. As for space, well it is a camper, a basic spartan living space.
We had a whole lot of problems with ours. We bought it 12/2024. Our sink had to be replaced, the tung Jack replaced twice, the door was replaced, and that is being worked on now. The septic tank leaked the first trip. The door replacement was worse than the original. It's probably getting replaced. But I agree it is a starter. The $900 transportation fee is actually a fee you don’t have to pay. It's called deceptive pricing under the false advertising laws. But most people do not know that and are scammed to pay the fee from Camping World.
Just found your video. I’ve got a2020 21BH H. we don’t travel that much with it. We put it about 45 minutes from our home and live it June 1 to September 1 up in New England different layout nice trailer. I got what I paid for. Enjoy yourselves.
Looking at possibly buying this camper. As a single dad with a 5 and 7 year old I think this will be perfect for us. I also have a Ram with the 5.7 so pulling it will be no issue. And this will be the 2nd camper I bought from Camping World. Have no complaints with them!
yeah there are a few things on build quality that they could definitely improve on for sure. With the promblems weve had we still dont regret buying it lol
I was looking at the 17r. It's the same camper with out bunks. Most campers you buy are gonna have some issues. I usually go over one after it's brought home or storage. Like water lines and all that jazz. This is a good camper for the price.
Do not bother .Build quality is very poor.Just look under it.Floor Insulation is exposed ,no spare tire ,no front stabilizers no head room in bathroom. All of that for $17000? No thanks.Getting cheap when you don't even get a spare tire.
The 4 changes I would make to this unit are: 1) a window in the door. 2) add an outside access door under the rear bunk bed 3) round off the wall corner behind the dinette to give more elbow room. 4) I would make the upper rear bunk foldable or removable. I would try to find a microwave with the door opening to the right instead of the left. I would not add a whole lot of other stuff, because when you start adding more and more upgrades, all of a sudden, your looking at a camper weighing 400 to 800 pounds more than this one. Weight matters! I like your little stove top cover pop made for you. Nice touch. Enjoy your camper! You indicated you are using it a lot.
Every time I get tempted to get an RV I look up hotel room prices vs cost of RV plus traveling with an RV plus cost of campsite. Hotel wins every time.
I have a 22 17B …. I live in it full time….. I have made many upgrades to it though ….. I am happy with mine….. … by chance can you measure from the wheel well to the ground….. I busted off my dump pipes off twice because of low ground clearance….. so I put a dexter under over axle kit on it and went up 15” wheels and tires….. since that I haven’t had any problems ….. but I am curious how much i raised my trailer …. I forgot to measure before I started what I did above .. it would be appreciated… 😎
Spend a winter in it? I’m thinking of buying this for out of town work right now. I’ll be spending a year out of town and figured something like this would be better then money spent on hotels, air bnbs ,rent etc.
They are the guide gear oversized club camp chair. And they are WONDERFUL lol we can literally curl up in them by the fire in the winter and go to sleep
Just bought a Coleman 17B too and also drives a 5.7, did you find the necessity to install a weight distribution hitch? Just trying to get everything sorted out before using it in the spring. Thanks.
You mentioned “ what people say about camper world” why do they say?? I was looking at this exact camper and it’s on sale right now and camper world is where I was gonna go but I have never bought one before.
I’ve just seen a lot of people complain about the services of camping world. For example it could take several months to repair something that shouldn’t be more than a few weeks.
I think our mattress is a short queen. And there is no mount for a tv in the camper atleast from our dealer. We had to buy the mount and tv separate but I think it’s a 32 inch I’m not 100% sure
so if i had to change anything i would maybe want storage in stead of the bunk beds and i wish our awning went to the back of the camper. it gets the job done but its kinda small awning so i wish it was longer.
Id be honest for about 2 thousand dollars more you could of got double the camper with a full blown queen with a bedroom with dual bunks. Full couch and dinette. And the awning runs a good bit longer 28 feet long. I appreciate the review. Nice looking camper tho
we dont really want anything bigger than this. Anything bigger wouldn be practical with my current truck. we dont spend much time inside when we camp anyways other than to eat and cool of for a bit and sleep.
Its a nice camper but needs a few slight redesigns. I am sure the problems could be solved for cheap and they could still price it at $12,000. A larger kitchen sink would help.😃👍💛💛💛💛💛
The call this model the covid model slapped together supper cheap and massed produce for a frist camper not bad long term I forsee this not holding up and trade in value going to be super low
From talkin to other people and my grandparents having a camper I haven’t really seen a camper that holds up very well past 10-15 years my grandparents have a 32ft eagle by jaco for about 15 years and the insurance totaled it out years ago for roof and floor damage and they had to buy it back from the insurance company
@@Ourcampinggetaways I agree. I camp at a campground and I've never seen a camper 8 to 10 years old that didn't have problems. I've owned 3 so far, all different brands and I've had problems with every single one. Stuff stops working and things break.
Yeah same here. I’ve talked to a tech about it and he said he didn’t kno if it could be extended because there are supports inside the wall for the awning and wasn’t sure if there was a support further down
This is the perfect example of a budget travel trailer.

Curious, how did you buy it in 12/2024 when that date isn’t even here yet. Hmmm (2023)
I don't have great credit and just need a place to sleep & Scrub my behind, awesome price.....do all my cooking on the grill. I'm buying it! Thanks!

I wish we had the one without the bunks since it’s usually just the 2 of us. We mainly use them for storage. Yeah we love ours

I actually thought the same thing about having a window in the door, but I like it dark when I sleep so I'm ok with no window
❤ I like it
I've never seen a right hand opening microwave.

Bed bugs 😢
Is there any outlet that works on the batteries alone? Or does it need to be hooked up to power ?
The camper needs to be hooked up to power for the outlets to work

Did they charge you a $1400 fee on top of the price?.. For prep?
That's what drew me away from dealerships.
How many BTU is your AC?
Just bought a Coleman 17B too and also drives a 5.7, did you find the necessity to install a weight distribution hitch? Just trying to get everything sorted out before using it in the spring. Thanks.
No I haven’t installed anything like that. It pulled good with just a hitch but if you want the added protection stuff go for it!

Their sales tactics and misleading otd pricing
Can you put a queen short mattress and what size TV can go on that
I think our mattress is a short queen. And there is no mount for a tv in the camper atleast from our dealer. We had to buy the mount and tv separate but I think it’s a 32 inch I’m not 100% sure
It is a short queen mattress. Usually 75" long instead of standard 80". Same width at 60" though.
I’m glad i decided against the Lantern, Sun lite 16Bh ftw
How much did the camper cost ya?
16k
How much of an impact does towing this camper have on your fuel economy? Are you down into the 8 to 11 mpg range?
so without the camper i get about 19 mpg and with it i get about 10-13 depending on how i drive.
If you could make 3 changes to this Colman 17B, what would they be?
so if i had to change anything i would maybe want storage in stead of the bunk beds and i wish our awning went to the back of the camper. it gets the job done but its kinda small awning so i wish it was longer.
Right now this camper goes for 14999.00 would you still buy it at that price ?
yes
Under $13000, max

I would opt for smaller and better quality for the $. No bathroom. Maybe 10-13’ feet. For 16k. Or, get this for 10k-13k, new, on sale, and be Ready.
Sounds to me like you should have bought a bigger camper if storage and the size of the sink bothers you 😅
Title of this video should be “I wish it was bigger.”
Camping world - 6 months and no plates. Typical. Hopefully you didnt buy the under carriage weather spray
Some states do not require a tag for a trailer under certain poundage. His state may be one of those.
