To be honest, it's not great. You get what you pay for. But we will say: it's all minor stuff. We knew that there were going to be things that were done cheaply and quickly, so our expectation was that we'd have to repair. - Paneling coming loose (attached with staples) - Broken tongue jack (spent 20 minutes attaching a new, better electric jack) - Poor caulking in the bathroom (fixed it before our first run) This camper is a great starter with no real frills to speak of. It's small and compact, perfect for a first-time RVer like us. I would say it's a great purchase if you're looking to save upfront cost and willing to do some easy-ish maintenance. You'll easily pay 1.5-2x for marginally better quality as a different brand (Keystone manufactures it) because we've heard all these issues across the board. For us, it's worth the up-front savings. Happy camping!
Also, here's a more detailed review we wrote on our other website: www.bottlesandbanter.com/2020/09/09/coleman-lantern-lt-17b-travel-trailer-tour-review/
The economy Coleman is honestly cheaply made. What is so cheap? Mainly the extensive amount of luan wood used. It’s cheap and not the most durable. 2nd would be the vinyl siding. Again a cheaper option vs laminate siding. I don’t mention anything about the appliances, because honestly your top tier and bottom tier campers (minus say Airstream, Outdoors Manf., Lance, etc....) all use the same 4 brands for their appliances. IMO if you are a weekend camper with a family....this unit is a good fit and going to suffice for probably 5-10 yrs. If you are a long distance hauler like this family....this camper, putting more than 4K per year, they will be lucky to see 5 yrs before they notice soft spots in the flooring from water damage (unless they are overly good at inspecting their roof joints and darco moisture wraps, properly sealing any joints with DAP products). Sometimes you get lucky though. Just remember, the Coleman Lantern series (which I believe this is) is an entry level unit. It’s not made to withstand constant travel and abuse. One weekend per month, or one trip a year probably would satisfactory. These units just are built to take constant abuse. Everyone thinks floor plan floor plan floor plan. First priority when buying a camper (that is financed for a 10-15 yrs) is build quality for the amount of use you plan to do. The 2nd priority for your first camper should be resale value after 3 yrs. Then I’d advise floor plan. I’d suggest if you plan on taking your rig cross country you look for alum caged framing, alum framed doors (windows if not frameless) and an upgraded suspension system like a Dexter torsion axle. Coachmen makes light weight (sub 4K lbs campers) that are very durable called Coleman light or their Nano series (I consider these upper mid level). Geo Pro/E-Pro also are another common light weight option. They both use Azdel composite (instead of luan wood) with gel coated laminate. The only wood framed RV manufacturing brand I’d recommend would be Winnebago. That’s only because they use plywood for construction and each camper is built with a through inspection. The 2100 bh is the perfect light weight (and only dual axle sub 4K lbs I’ve seen with bunk beds).
May I recommend that one propane tank vs two doesn’t make maintenance any different. 99% of the time, propane failure is regulator issue....which comes with either single or double. AC unit of wall vs ceiling mounted also doesn’t make any different. If anything, I’d argue that the plastic toliet is a bigger maintenance issue. The biggest maintenance saver is the lack of a slide.
DEFINITELY taking notes from this. This camper is, without a doubt, a beginner camper. It was something we could afford cash up front and get our toes into the camping world. We'll likely keep for a couple of years and then trade up slightly when we feel like we know what we're doing more. That said, we're definitely meticulous with checking and inspecting. Maintaining this bad boy is our goal!
Nice job mine came from New Jersey 2024, Springdale 2010 BH if you found this one, this has a furnace more storage in the kitchen sink in the bathroom. Bunkhouse is extra sleeping in the bunkhouse oversized. You could put the small refrigerator in the side and there’s a rear door. That opens for bikes or a kayak or two you buy one to make it your own. Good luck. For a few thousand more more plus it solar.
Camping World here in TN has had tons and tons of trailers on lot for sale and has had them every single day for months and months here. 100s of options and all able to take home that day. No availability problems here.

We bought this trailer because of this video last year….it’s been PERFECT!!! We have a 4 year old and a 3 year old and every time they see us bring it home they get sooo excited because they know it’s time to hit the lake! Thanks guys!
My wife and I had that same trailer loved it, loved it. It is a great starter trailer. However we just traded it in and moved up to the next level and it was another Coleman that is bigger It has a slide and 30ft with more extras. The only reason why we moved up in size was from one camping trip we has some friends over it began to rain, so that was 4 adults and 2 toddlers and a teenager stuffed in this camper. It was close quarters to say the least. As being one step above beginners getting that camper is a great way to start and we absolutely fell in love with RVing because of that camper. The extras though are nice.
We are long time campers. Had several diff kinds. Went to the Tampa RV show today. Saw the avengers, Coleman's, Springdale etc We plan to buy the Coleman. Love the weight, the single axel, the length of the RV etc.
We are camper wannabees, just started our hunt 2 weeks ago, and have learned so much in the process! Even though my girls are now college-age, the "mommy" in my is always right at the surface! I was thinking that since you don't have a "couch", you could convert your dinette into a sort of "slouch couch" by setting it up as a bed and topping it with supportive pillows and cushions. Then you can all enjoy the fireplace, and TV together and use lap trays or tray tables for eating. I'm looking forward to learning with you! Happy and safe travels!
Congratulations y'all. If you are a part time camper, 1-4 camping trips a year then this is a perfect starter and keeping down the budget. Don't let the people scared you about how bad these are. I had an older coleman and it was great for me for 5 years until I started to see major problems. My problem was I used it very hard and very little maintenance. My friends had a new Lance and Airstream and from year 1 they had little issues here and there. Do it is all hit and miss when it comes to rv. Good luck yo yall and enjoy. Y'all look like a very nice family. God bless yall!
Nice RV. I like that you guys came up with six exact reasons. You two are so precise in all you do. That is a great skill. Availability is the first ability needed 😉😂
Nice! My fam of 4 just purchased the 2022 Coleman 17B as well. Jealous of your pricing, we paid 15,900 but CampWorld threw in a free Coleman gas powered Trail Bike for cruising to-and-from the showers/bathrooms... we always camp full hookups, only travel with the fresh water tank empty for weight reduction, pulling with a 2003 Toyota 4Runner 4.7 V8. Picking it up tomorrow after our 1 hour walk-thru!! Proud to be SamClub members now. Oh! Can’t beat the 3yr warranty, either. Next option was the single axle Springdale but for 10k more? Nah. I’m a minimalist. I’m used to my 1pound hiking tent anyway.
I really like your videos! I know you don't have the Lantern anymore but i really like the curtain you put up to separate the bedroom where could i find something like that also your new Travel Trailer is awesome and the Silverado is a beast look forward to more of your videos
I’d opt fur smaller, lighter to tow, less features (skip the shower and toilet) and get a good quality unit that’ll last with lower maintenance and much better resale.
Good choice. Our family has something very similar, 20' bunkhouse. Fun fact, you can actually drive it through a fast food drive thru. 😂 Mine clears it by an inch or two.
I almost got one of these, but decided to go with a 18-foot Palomino Palomini because i like the fiberglass over the tin exterior. Also, I heard the window AC units are garbage in these, worth the extra money for a ceiling unit
These Coleman are not too bad. They are really mainly for beginners though, like their tents, which is where you guys are at. Yes, there is better campers out there, if your willing to pay the coin, and they cost a lot of coins lol. Coleman make a good economy camper, in saying that, they are decent build, will last probably a good 5 years easy. One thing, make sure you grease check your bearings every month or so (or install bearing buddies). Good score I say, does what you need, fits perfectly with your family size, not too expensive.
@@FamilyonStandby bearing buddies are a device that you put over your bearings, it holds grease in it, so when you drive it will grease your bearings so they don't overheat or wear out the bearings when the grease dries up. If that makes sense. I have them on my camper trailer, boat trailer and caravan. Makes bearing maintenance a lot easier :D Here, something similar like this: being I'm in AU hope you can see the link 😀 www.trailersrus.com.au/trailer-bearing-buddies-2pcs-bearing-protectors-wi
Thanks! We're pretty excited about the whole deal. It's going to be an adventure, for sure. And ya, the curtain is hugely necessary. Not trying to go to bed at 7pm haha
I like the curtain rod idea, splitting the master bedroom... Do you remember where you got it? Also, did you screw it to the wall, or is it pressurized?
I really like mine, floor plane is a little different, perfect for bug outs. In the woods in the middle of nowhere ,I put solar power and inverter to run a/c and fridge, have gas heat instead of elec. 👍 good for you all.
Yeah, the beds are a huge thing. You all better get some workouts in to move that bed to get your stuff. Dang. But well done on getting this all together. Good luck on the travels!
They totally are a huge thing. We're thankful for our nice comfy bed has come in handy, especially after all these long days. Thanks for the well wishes!
Suddenly the interest came from looking at people doing the van life stuff and looking into tiny homes and found this after seeing how cheap it was. Looks great for the price especially compared to everything else. But Olivia sounds like a voice actress if she already isn't, she should consider doing something with acting or radio.
Good job on the video. We bought the same RV last summer. I tell people that you can certainly get a better 21 foot camper, if you want to spend $5000-$10,000 more. You can get all kinds of bells and whistles, for more money. If you decide to purchase an economical, and discount, entry level RV, you probably just need to accept the fact that you will not have a premium product, or lots of extras I think that some people actually enjoy the process of personalizing or adding upgrades. We have. I made a video with a critical review, and showing the upgrades we have made so far, but I am not going to spam your site with it, unless you say it is OK. I really like your curtain idea! We also bought the memory foam, because you can trim it to fit. It was our first upgrade, before the first trip. Yes, the Teddy Bear Mattress is joke.
I literally have been looking at doing the same thing with the exact camper but was told to buy a used one of these. But I figured they're having a good sale on a brand new one and we'll habe to finance one which is easier to finance brand new. Still with rental costs and landlords and management companies basically shaking you upside down for all your loose change this is exactly what I want to do. Its just my husband and I and 2 tiny dogs. You are brave doing it with 2 kids. How is the camper holding up? How is it in extreme heat or cold? I'm still going ti buy one of these ill get a space Hester and better quality ac if I have to.
We loved it! It’s a very basic camper so it’s easy to fix if something goes wrong. Stays cool/warm depending on how you want it to Again, size and simplicity are helpful in this area!
our little family is picking up our 2021 17B in just two more days!!! So excited! I really like your down to earth review of the trailer and your little hacks. Way more helpful than the glamorous professional "reviews" that skip over the challenges.
Congrats! That's so exciting! And ya - we're def not a professional review site, just a regular family who happens to have a travel trailer. We DEFINITELY see the challenges and want others to know about them. We love our 17B, all things considered.
Oh to have her *nix* Nick's idea. No Bunn coffee maker says your lovely red, at least you can Enjoy her buns instead! Thank you folks for the review. Maybe it would be Good for Ginny-Girl & me too. 🙏🦉
Yes, one too many nights endured in a tent in the rain (Pacific Northwest) and our family bought a new 2005 18’ Dutchman travel trailer (we’re still using it today, 15 years on). - It is SO SWEET being able to get out of the truck and climb in to bed in the travel trailer ‘in 1-2 minutes’ if needed. - Have fun!
Thank you The viking 17BH is a better choice. Around 15K It has an upper bunk bed window The shower will fit Nik The storage under the main bed is better More storage That is what I remembered From watching both videos Enjoy
Thank you for this video. Great information and additional storage ideas. Looking at this for myself and 3 kids. Would you please post the link for the little bathroom cabinet . Thank you!
Wonder how this camper would do on long trips? Like full time rv or many many road trips in one year? I have a truck that should pull it like a horse (1/2 ton). I wanna see this in person. The size and price is just right! I hate big double axle campers. Can't stand them.
We've got some more videos on our channel, but it does great. We took it from Chicago to Rocky Mountain National Park, up to Yellowstone and Grand Teton, down to Arches and back across home. Then we took it from Chicago to Fort Myers, FL. Each trip was a month long with our family of four.
@@FamilyonStandby That's some miles for sure! I know of one person who has had this same camper for 3 years myabe and just regular maintenance and it still looks and operates like brand new. They throw down long trips each year. Good to see a second opinion. Ill check this out come camper buying time!
@@FamilyonStandby Indeed I will! I drove past a camping world in Asheville NC today, didn't get a chance to stop and see the 2023 17b and 17r but hope to soon. I thought about a tv for the camper, I seen 12v tvs with built in dvd players. Id get a portable battery generator to run the tv when no outside gas generator or shore power was available, then use the 120v side of the tv when on shore power and charge power box at the same time. You can get alot of hours tv time on small 400w battery inverter generator. Ima think of other mods so when I get the camper I can get to work on small upgrades! And a lithium battery upgrade possibly.
Hi I just bought a brand new coleman 22-B and I'm interested in getting the drawer set you got for the bathroom and I don't know how to find the link you were going to put for it, I can't see it. Can you please share it with me, thanks in advance.
I am looking at this exact model right now. We want to use it for safer pandemic travel, possibly camping, and as a guest house when we have company, since we don’t have a formal guest room in the house. Great video, I think it clinched the deal for me.
Just bought this one today enjoyed your video, already purchased new mattress, love the room separator idea and where did you find the bathroom storage drawers as that is a definite need.
Ok look guys, I'm a truck driver! I live in my trunk so whatever you thinks is bad about the trailer is gravy to me, I am definitely getting one so I can drive locally in SoCal. How tall is Snoop Dog over there 🤨😆😆I need to see how small the shower is. Great Job I really enjoyed this!! 👍👍👍👍👍
😂😂😂 Snoop would tell you he’s 6’-1”, but he’s definitely 6’ even. It’s a tight fit and his head pokes into the vent. It’s easier to sit on a stool, for sure.
No, not at all! Actually, temp control in this camper is surprisingly good, give that it’s a fireplace and a window AC. Since it’s such a small place, it’s really easy to heat and cool.
I'm looking into one of these bc we are facing homelessness. And IF my credit score will allow it, then I'd like to turn in my car im still paying on but is very low (VERY) in miles and in perfect condition at 4 years old. But I don't think it can pull even this. Bc it's a CUV. Soooo have to buy a used truck/suv as well. Unless I find a used C Class which is breaking even. Sooooo my question is- how is this in winter months in areas where it's cold ?? If you can answer that
So we sold it BUT only because our family increased in size. We love this little camper and in fact have a Facebook group dedicated solely to it. There are many happy owners.
@@FamilyonStandby My wife and I bought a Riverside RV Explorer 135X. We wanted the smallest lightest weight camper that had everything we needed. It's only the two of us and two toy poodles so it works great for us. We also are not full-time.
Great video! My family just purchased a camper with the same layout..we also wanted to add privacy curtains. Where did u purchase the bar to hang the curtains?
We actually didn't buy it! We got a 1" doll rod from Home Depot and cut it to length, stained it, and attached it using curtain rod holders and Command Strips :)
Thanks for the info! I'm thinking about getting one of these, but I wonder how long your battery is lasting without a new charge. Do you have solar or a generator? How many days or hours can your fridge run on just battery since it is not propane? And how about the fireplace heater - does that give off enough heat and run very long on battery power?
I just bought a 2022 and my price was 15,999.00 plus a few extras like a swaybar and a protectant coating. I ended up paying about 18,500.00. I feel like I OVERr Paid but I do love it.
You did pay to much they screwed you big time where did you go we need too put these companies on blast when they screw people over so they can lose business!!!!
This helped a lot! I'm currently in consideration. I agree with all the selling points. I think you made a wise choice. It's been awhile. Do you think so?
I know the dry weight is about 3,000. What would be the weight on this fully loaded? I have tow capacity of 4,000 so wondering if we can get this model. Thanks for the video!
The total cargo capacity of this camper is something like 500#, give or take. 4000# towing capacity is really cutting it close to be honest. You’ll hit the payload limit of your tow vehicle pretty quickly. We would say bare minimum capacity you need to safely tow is 5000#.
Yup! It's a bit more effort, but you can do it. You have to find the studs to screw into, but since the walls are so thin, you can find them easily. Just knock and you can feel them.
searched all the comments for great advice but didnt find the one i was looking for. you mentioned that you pull this with an SUV. what type of hook up, wire wise, does it come with? does it take an air brake to stop it? if so, does it come with that and did you have to add the attachment to your rig?
This trailer (and nearly every single trailer over 2000#) comes equipped with electric brakes and a 7-pin connector. That's required by law in most states. Our Explorer has a 7-pin plug in the back by the hitch and all we had to do was add the brake controller. It's a very easy install if your car is equipped with a tow package - just plug and play.
What year is this trailer 2024? I am purchasing the same one same exact one it’s costing me about $15,000 and I am not happy about it. I don’t know how you guys get in this trailer for 10,000 that’s incredible.
Hey! Love the video! We are retiring soon and looking for something nice and affordable to travel around and visit our 5 kids and 17 grandchildren 🤗Does the fireplace keep it warm on a cold night? And does the AC keep it cool? Thanks!
So awesome! Thanks :) This would definitely foot the bill. The heat keeps the whole camper toasty warm. We even had to turn it down when we were camping and it got down to 17 and snow. And the AC keeps it comfortably cool during the summer, but we've never tested it as much as we tested the heat.
How is the build quality? The layout is exactly the one I need but most website says to stay away from Coleman. Really want to hear from real user.
To be honest, it's not great. You get what you pay for. But we will say: it's all minor stuff. We knew that there were going to be things that were done cheaply and quickly, so our expectation was that we'd have to repair.

Our take exactly! Also, what exactly are bearing buddies?!
Makes bearing maintenance a lot easier :D
Here, something similar like this: being I'm in AU hope you can see the link 😀

Congrats on your new RV. This is so exciting!!!! Can't wait to see your adventures. I like the room separator. Great tour guys.
Thanks! We're pretty excited about the whole deal. It's going to be an adventure, for sure. And ya, the curtain is hugely necessary. Not trying to go to bed at 7pm haha
Love the glam shots. A lot of foreshadowing on that pack n play, hmmm (or ... room for Eloise). Favorite quote from Nick: "So bougie."
There is absolutely no foreshadowing here at all. But definitely envision some trips with friends in tow! And Brittany is pretty bougie.
Newbie question: Is there a way to add wi-fi to this camper? At times, it will become a traveling office.
I like the curtain rod idea, splitting the master bedroom... Do you remember where you got it?
Also, did you screw it to the wall, or is it pressurized?
This video was highly entertaining and funny! You two are awesome!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
I really like mine, floor plane is a little different, perfect for bug outs. In the woods in the middle of nowhere ,I put solar power and inverter to run a/c and fridge, have gas heat instead of elec. 👍 good for you all.
This is one we are considering since this would be our first time owning an rv. I like the curtain you added for privacy.
Ya, the curtain is a must.
Actually looking at the same one from Camping World to live in, wanna get off the grid!
Did they say 10 grand?!?! That sounds like a good deal.
If you decide to purchase an economical, and discount, entry level RV, you probably just need to accept the fact that you will not have a premium product, or lots of extras
I think that some people actually enjoy the process of personalizing or adding upgrades.
Great insight! You can certainly post. If interested, we have a Facebook group dedicated to the 17B to join :)
Nice Camper/Travel Trailer! Nice upgrades that you've made also! Gives me tons of ideas!
Thanks! Good luck! These travel trailers are awesome.
our little family is picking up our 2021 17B in just two more days!!!
Hi, if u don't mind, what was the cost? They r 16k now
Please share the matress topper you bought for the bed & link. Thank you in advance . congratulations on your rv. We Also have one
That’s awesome! It’s a Cool Gel mattress - not even a topper. Pretty nice and def affordable. 1000% would recommend.

Thank you for the information.. super helpful 😊
Oh to have her *nix* Nick's idea.
No Bunn coffee maker says your lovely red, at least you can Enjoy her buns instead!
Thank you folks for the review.
Maybe it would be Good for Ginny-Girl & me too.
🙏🦉
This is just what I want. Small bunkhouse to move up from tent camping
It’s the perfect upgrade!
- Have fun!
Wow. Its really gone up in price since this video. Its 15,995 now. How do you feel about it 2 years later?
Thank you
The viking 17BH is a better choice.
Around 15K
It has an upper bunk bed window
The shower will fit Nik
The storage under the main bed is better
More storage
That is what I remembered
From watching both videos
Enjoy
Thanks for the tip!
Great review. I am thinking about the lantern for a family of four.
Thanks! You totally should - we love ours.
Snoop dogg lol love your bedroom we just got ours to a 2015
Good deal.
Congratulations and welcome to Morocco
11k!? Thats a great deal. 2022 models are 16k, before taxes/fees/extended warranty.
That was fun. We’re going to be buying the same model, and have two babies and and a dog, so sort of in the same boat!
That's awesome! We have 2 kiddos and a dog, too! Our doggo just doesn't tend to make the videos...he's kind of a loner bear haha
Nick. You have a beautiful family; and a great wife it seems. Enjoy your life.
That is way too kind! Thank you.
Thank you for this video. Great information and additional storage ideas. Looking at this for myself and 3 kids. Would you please post the link for the little bathroom cabinet . Thank you!
Of course! We love this little camper. Here's the cabinet: amzn.to/2EHnWXm
Is there anything that wouldn’t run without an electrical site? Fireplace and outlets can run off the battery etc ? Thanks
We have a Facebook group! Join us! m.facebook.com/groups/1702438703252205/?ref=share&mibextid=l066kq
👍 nice... Got one last March
Nice 👍
It’s crazy these were $11k when you bought it, I’m finding them for $16k everywhere.
would like to know where you purchased the memory foam short queen mattress, and the storage cabinet in the BR?
The cabinet came from Target. And the mattress is a thing of beauty! Here's the link: amzn.to/3hwWsnk
@@FamilyonStandby thank you so much...appreciate your personal resonse...
Awesome presentation on this RV, kudos to you guys 😀
Thanks so much!
Hi I just bought a brand new coleman 22-B and I'm interested in getting the drawer set you got for the bathroom and I don't know how to find the link you were going to put for it, I can't see it. Can you please share it with me, thanks in advance.
OMG it actually got discontinued, so we took it out! So bummed. Sorry!
I am looking at this exact model right now. We want to use it for safer pandemic travel, possibly camping, and as a guest house when we have company, since we don’t have a formal guest room in the house. Great video, I think it clinched the deal for me.
That’s awesome to hear! Good luck!!
@@FamilyonStandby thanks 🙏
Did you end up getting it. Im looking at 1 on Sat.
What type of suv do you use? You think a Tahoe would be ok?
you guys are such an adorable couple!
Isn’t that the sweetest?! Thank you!
I love it!!! So excited! Let me know where you guys are at...I'd love to do a video tour for my channel!!!
That would be awesome. I just emailed you our schedule!
Do you have the link to purchase the 3 drawer storage you have in the bathroom? Please and love your videos. Thank you.
We can't find it at Target anymore, that's where we got it! We'll poke around a bit to see if we can find it...
Just bought this one today enjoyed your video, already purchased new mattress, love the room separator idea and where did you find the bathroom storage drawers as that is a definite need.
Awesome!! Those drawers are found here. They're perfect... amzn.to/3f07yAh
Happy camping!
Why don't you add a drop counter top kinda like a table leaf that folds down just to give you more countertop when you need it
Ok look guys, I'm a truck driver! I live in my trunk so whatever you thinks is bad about the trailer is gravy to me, I am definitely getting one so I can drive locally in SoCal. How tall is Snoop Dog over there 🤨😆😆I need to see how small the shower is. Great Job I really enjoyed this!! 👍👍👍👍👍
😂😂😂
Snoop would tell you he’s 6’-1”, but he’s definitely 6’ even. It’s a tight fit and his head pokes into the vent. It’s easier to sit on a stool, for sure.
Entertaining review! After a year what are your impressions about the camper? 🤔
Can you tell me anything about how to work the wineguard antenna?
Holly crap I'm going to look at one of these from. The same place 16,999 pre taxes right now. Wow
We have a coleman camper we love it❤
Does the curtain trap all of the air conditioning in that end of the camper?
No, not at all! Actually, temp control in this camper is surprisingly good, give that it’s a fireplace and a window AC. Since it’s such a small place, it’s really easy to heat and cool.
@4:30 How big is that "bed" on the dining room table? In terms of length I mean.
Nick is 6'1" and says "Somewhat less than 6'"
Is this camper going to last longer on a seasonal site??? Looking to buy and park.... Maintain, winterize, etc. Ty 😊
We know several people in our 17B Facebook group who use this camper for seasonal spots!
Sure beats the van life,or tents.
If you can answer that
Sorry that’s happening to you! The heater works incredibly well, but you do have to be plugged in to use it. It can’t be used off-grid.
This video is 2 years old as I watch it. What is your status now? Do you still have it and if so how often? Are you still happy with it?
So we sold it BUT only because our family increased in size. We love this little camper and in fact have a Facebook group dedicated solely to it. There are many happy owners.
@@FamilyonStandby My wife and I bought a Riverside RV Explorer 135X. We wanted the smallest lightest weight camper that had everything we needed. It's only the two of us and two toy poodles so it works great for us. We also are not full-time.
Where did you get the bunk ladder and bath storage from
We made the ladder! And the storage is, unfortunately, discontinued from Target.
Battery for 12v lights , fridge, heaters use land power
I just bought a 2022 and my price was 15,999.00 plus a few extras like a swaybar and a protectant coating. I ended up paying about 18,500.00. I feel like I OVERr Paid but I do love it.
Price has gone up a lot. So don't feel badly about that price at all. You only over paid if you don't like it.
You did pay to much they screwed you big time where did you go we need too put these companies on blast when they screw people over so they can lose business!!!!
I live in my trailer and I love it
We love our coleman lantern 17b.
Yay! So glad you love it. We're big fans.
Got mine at the end of the camping season being its not a 4 season RV but im excited non the less. :)
Then you have ALL winter to think about it :)
This helped a lot! I'm currently in consideration. I agree with all the selling points. I think you made a wise choice. It's been awhile. Do you think so?
Absolutely. Wouldn’t have made a different choice!
@@FamilyonStandby Good to know. I appreciate your feedback. Many Thanks! 🦋
Congrats on the new rig.
Thanks! We're pretty psyched.
So cool! We are excited to see more trip! I'm over here trying to calculate if my 2010 Honda accord can tow a camper 🤔🤔😂😂
Ha! Something tells us that a trailer might tow the Accord better...
Have you attached anything to the wall with anything other than 3m type hooks? I'm wondering about hanging something more permanently.
Yup! It's a bit more effort, but you can do it. You have to find the studs to screw into, but since the walls are so thin, you can find them easily. Just knock and you can feel them.
@@FamilyonStandby thank you. I just heard back from the makers and they said the same. Thanks for answering that.
searched all the comments for great advice but didnt find the one i was looking for. you mentioned that you pull this with an SUV. what type of hook up, wire wise, does it come with? does it take an air brake to stop it? if so, does it come with that and did you have to add the attachment to your rig?
This trailer (and nearly every single trailer over 2000#) comes equipped with electric brakes and a 7-pin connector. That's required by law in most states. Our Explorer has a 7-pin plug in the back by the hitch and all we had to do was add the brake controller. It's a very easy install if your car is equipped with a tow package - just plug and play.
This RV is STACKED! I think that this will be perfect for you guys. One question... does it clear the drive-thru?
It's pretty nice, not gonna lie. And yes, it fits a drive-thru, but uh... it's tight. We won't be doing it often lol
Family on Standby How would you pay 😂
On the bunks on top.. how about safety netting? 🤔
We added a rail for our kiddo. Works out nicely!
We are thinking getting one of this. Do you find any major quality issues after you have it for a year?
Hello,
Can anyone tell me the actual GVWR of this trailer? not the dry weight. I'm trying to do some research before I purchase one. Thank you.
Does it have AC and how well does it cool during hot weather?
It does! And surprisingly works well. We were fine in the summer in Florida. The only area it doesn’t get to as well is the bottom bunk.
what are you pulling the camper with?
We’ve got a 2016 Ford Explorer. Pulls well, but it’s definitly at the top of its capability, even though significantly under capacity.
What year is this trailer 2024? I am purchasing the same one same exact one it’s costing me about $15,000 and I am not happy about it. I don’t know how you guys get in this trailer for 10,000 that’s incredible.
Oh, I see that was three years ago. The video after Covid things went up. I guess I’m wondering if the prices negotiable I can negotiate.
This is three years ago.
Wow! this same camper is selling for around 17k where I live and that is because it is discounted.
It's wild, right? They got SO popular.
Have you tried this in really cold climates? Below freezing?
We did! We had a snowstorm in Montana. That little heater gets cooking and kept us warm and toasty.
Good stuff
Hey! Love the video! We are retiring soon and looking for something nice and affordable to travel around and visit our 5 kids and 17 grandchildren 🤗Does the fireplace keep it warm on a cold night? And does the AC keep it cool? Thanks!
So awesome! Thanks :)
This would definitely foot the bill. The heat keeps the whole camper toasty warm. We even had to turn it down when we were camping and it got down to 17 and snow. And the AC keeps it comfortably cool during the summer, but we've never tested it as much as we tested the heat.
@@FamilyonStandby thank you!
